Remember when I told that person who purports to be a Jewish history scholar that antisemitism didn’t have a dash in it and they ignored my ask and continue using “anti-semitism” to speak out against antisemitism? Yeah, me too.
So this is your reminder that if you’re referencing Jew-hatred, it is antisemitism — no dash.
Today I learned that Radek is only one inch shorter than Rodney. Which is not how I've been imagining it. He's constantly referenced as the "short guy," but in actuality he's only one inch below average.
Did you know that nearly everyone on that corset post you rebloged is a terf? (They are also wrong imperically and I'd be happy to provide academic sources to back me up if you are at all interested in exploring this topic it's a special interest of mine)
no i didn't know that. i don't go around checking everyone's blog especially when i'm at work going through tumblr. thanks for the heads up.
i did think it was odd cause i'd seen the opposite around. but i know nothing about anything so lol
This whole thread from one of the early devs for SWTOR is fascinating on the development cycle and what didn’t make it into the game. But this one in particular he me shouting “I KNEW IT!!”:
Like I haven’t been able to get my hands on the art book yet, where I thought there might be eeeearly concept art shared that supported my hypothesis. See, the first set of comics has a bizarre and WILDLY different take on so many familiar NPCs from the class stories (I think most notably Satele, who looks like a Bastila clone, but the rest are also very head scratching), it led me to believe that they had completely redone the concepts of the whole cast at some point.
Given that tie-in media works on a different timeline than game production (and much longer than the layperson thinks), I had always suspected that the artists had been given early concept art, and at some point they revamped the character designs and either forgot to tell the artists — or they were simply too far along to change anything and had to roll with it. But this definitely explains the character design discrepancies between source materials.
Also, RIP this amazing concept (I’m guessing it was cut from the Trooper storyline?):
OKAYYYYY SO, y’all remember a few days back I was complaining about that large film crew coming to our town and filming for three months and you literally couldn’t step outside without feeling like Brendan Fraser on the set of Looney Tunes: Back In Action!
Well, today I was doing my usual bit at my job (kinda a stand up comedian on a microphone to a hundred people on a steam train every day? Eh. Idk it’s a niche role) and there’s these interesting passengers on board just totally engaging with me and making the day all the more fun
WELLLLL I got to talking to one of the guys and he’s like, “Yeah, we’re the crew of the film set. Just coming out to feel the vibes of the area through the train.”
And I was like oh fuck I just shamed these guys online a few days ago lmao gotta backtrack now and be nice since they’re audience members/passengers
Well well well, I actually have a blast with them all day, got a standing ovation all that jazz, and at the end they all hugged me and said my vibe was awesome and asked if I’d be keen to come work on set for a few weeks
Naturally my bard senses tingled and I decided that sounded awesome so I was like “HELL YEAH!” so I gave them my number and I guess I work for a tv show now too
Tangentially related but since I’m currently watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo (show about ASD) I feel it is worth mentioning that if you do have ASD (or anxiety or are ND in any way) and often feel you need your soul crushed into your body (reference to a tumblr post that eventually I will find in my reblogs) a weighted blanket is 100% worth the investment.
I bought one about 2 years ago and haven’t regretted it. They’re pricey but if you can swing it or you can push your insurance to cover any of the cost do it. You won’t regret it.

today in pharmacy class I learned most pills are made using lactose. Now, I'm certain is a very tiny amount that wouldn't do much for an lactose intolerant person, but my emeto writer brain doesn't give a fuck
