RIP Takeoff (1994-2022)

Kirshnik Khari Ball, better professionally known as Takeoff, was fatally shot and killed in Houston on Halloween night yesterday.

He was 28.

The significance of what The Migos have accomplished for music in recent years is overwhelming, and endless when put into words. They started a Wave, created a signature dynamic sound that no one else was doing in Hip Hop, and changed the culture forever.

Many would even argue that Takeoff, was the best out of the three.

In 2018 he released his solo project “The Last Rocket” which showcased his artistry and place in Hip Hop when it debuted at #4 on The Billboard 200. His most recent release, a joint album with nephew Quavo, Only Built For Infinity Links, just released weeks ago.

We are very lucky to have witnessed history. The run Migos had as a group is once in a generation, over 45 Billboard placements are testament to that.
