Antifascist prisoner Krystina "Kita" Charankova was released from prison in Belarus earlier this month, after serving years for the "crimes" of opposing the invasion of Ukraine and being critical of Belarus' dictatorship. The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund has helped her to find her feet and get re-established now that she's returned to the world. Full story here. If you think it's important to support anti-fascists who've made huge sacrifices defending their communities from fascism, you'd do well to make a contribution to the Defence Fund today!

This week on the show, we’re starting out with an interview with Lo and Meghan, two supporters of Jewish independent journalist, artist and antifascist leftist from Albany, NY, Alex Stokes Contompasis. They mentioned getting support and attention from the International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund.
Then, you’ll hear an interview from our comrades at Frequenz-A in so-called Germany with a recent interview of Anya of the grassroots group called Solidarity Zone that offers legal, media and other support to people facing charges for anti-war direct actions inside of Russia to speak about their work and the case of Ruslan Siddiqui, an anarchist who does not deny railway sabotage against the Russian war efforts in Ukraine. Please end the use of these practices. I am also seriously concerned for the health of Kevin ‘Rashid’ Johnson, as he is being prevented from accessing care for his health conditions. Ahhh, the holidays. That beautiful time of year when the good people of Tumblr traditionally donate hundreds of dollars to their favourite left-wing gif blogs to show their appreciation. While I, like you all, cherish this yearly tradition, I thought maybe this year we could change it up a little. If you happen to be feeling generous and have some cash to spare this December, why not donate to The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund?
Since 2015, it has provided direct support to nearly 500 anti-fascists in twenty different countries  It’s completely transparent (here’s the blog) and all decisions are made democratically. From their preliminary yearly report:
So far in 2019, The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund has provided emergency support to 77 anti-fascists in Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Poland, Russia, the UK, and the US.
What kind of emergencies?
We helped three families relocate after armed fascists showed up to their homes, threatening to kill them.
We sent funds to an activist for emergency dental surgery after her teeth were shattered at a Proud Boys counter-demonstration.
We helped pay for the sixth surgery for one of the survivors of the 2017 Charlottesville white supremacist terrorist attack, as well as for physical therapy for the survivor of a shooting by nazis in Portland.
We made sure a Russian anti-fascist living in exile in Finland could be reunited with his wife and child.
We contributed to paying off court fines & lawyer bills for 28 Norwegian anti-fascists after they successfully disrupted a secret nazi meeting in Oslo.
And of course, we made large contributions to the legal defence of anti-fascists facing charges in eleven countries.
You can make a one time donation here, and get some awesome merch at the same time, and anyone who donates an amount greater than $20/€20/£15 will be invited to join the growing crew of people all over the world that make the decisions about how The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund is used. Of course it would be even more amazing if you can spare a couple bucks each month, recurring donations can be set up here or here!
Let us hope the International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund will be needed a lot less in 2020, but sadly I don’ t think this will be the case. So lets make sure they have the resources to help even more people in the coming year!
Happy holidays comrades!

As you may know, since the beginning of the year, I’ve been seeing an abundance of racist/fascist stickers plastered all over the place, from “Refugees NOT Welcome” to blurbs about how harmful multiculturalism is to you and your children to just literal portraits of Hitler. Short of peeling or scratching them off, there hasn’t been much I could do. Thanks to the International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund, at least I can now respond in kind. It’s a small gesture, but it’s something, I guess.

July 25 – The International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners
Since the last July 25th International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners, the worldwide struggle against the nightmare of fascism and the far-right has grown and intensified. The news bulletins steadily report the racist and bigoted attacks, the harassment of journalists, the demonization of refugees and migrants, and the increasing presence and violence of organized fascist and far-right groups. While the bigoted, nationalist imagination reproduces itself on a global scale, it also attempts to turn us all into prisoners of the border.
History
The International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners originated in 2014 as a Day of Solidarity with Jock Palfreeman—an Australian man serving a 20-year sentence in Bulgaria for defending two Romani men from an attack by fascist football hooligans. Happily, Palfreeman has been granted parole after serving 11 years of his sentence, but there are still hundreds of others who remain imprisoned for standing up against fascism and hate.
That’s why July 25th is so important; the International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners aims to break down the borders and build an international response against fascism. By having an event, raising money, or dedicating an action to these comrades, we can simultaneously strengthen our local movements by ensuring that those who have acted to protect our communities against the fascist threat are never forgotten, as well as create the links of a powerful international solidarity which can transcend both the prison and the border wall.
In 2020, Antifa International and the International Antifascist Defence Fund will be organizing and promoting campaigns and events around The International Day of Solidarity with Antifascist Prisoners.  This July 25th, 2020 we call on antifascists worldwide to act in solidarity with antifascist prisoners—the comrades who have been behind bars for many years, the friends who have just begun their sentences, the mates still awaiting trial—because they are in there for us, and so we must be out here for them!

Activist tshirts - https://www.No-Gods-No-Masters.com - Additional $2000 donated to Anti-Fascist Defense Fund and Refugee Community Kitchen In response to the rise of alt-right and fascists during 2017, and considering the events across the United States following the election of Donald Trump, we’ve felt the need to donate an additional $2000 to anti-fascist and pro-refugees causes. In times like these, we can’t stress enough about the importance of organizing against fascism, racism, and hate. Our $2000 donation was shared between the International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund and Refugee Community Kitchen. Last year, we contributed $3000 to anti-fascist causes and also donated $1000 to refugees charities. We are happy to reiterate our solidarity this year again for these very important causes and we will continue to show support in the future. alright, so should I get a plain red/black AnCom flag, a red/black flag with the circle a symbol, or a red/black flag with the Antifascist Action logo ?
Plain black and red. Plain black also works very well imo. You can buy an antifa flag here (link), proceeds go to the International Antifascist Defence Fund. If you’re doing the circle-A, it looks best as white on black.

Another day, another loss for Andy "Milkshake" Ngo. It's worth noting that The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund provided legal aid support to one of the people Ngo was attempting to sue. Being able to help provide good lawyers for anti-fascists is more important than ever and it works! Help us to continue to defend anti-fascists by making a contribution to the Defence Fund.

We teamed up with PM Press to create these double-sided anti-fascist football ("soccer" in American) scarves! One side of the scarf has ALWAYS ANTIFASCIST with the Three Arrows of the Iron Front on one end and an Antifa logo on the other end, all in black and white. The other side of the scarf harkens back to the Spanish Civil War and reads ¡NO PASARÁN!, which means "They shall not pass," bordered on each side by "161," which numerically stands for AntiFascist Action. An Antifa International flag anchors one end with the PM Press Black Cat logo and the words "Stand and Be Counted" at the other end, all in black, white and red. The scarf is 100% acrylic and measures 59" x 7"/150cm x 18cm, made in the so-called USA. Proceeds go to benefit The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund. ORDER YOURS HERE!

Two weeks left to enter our giveaway contest for one of ten copies of WE GO WHERE THEY GO: THE STORY OF ANTI-RACIST ACTION. This vital book reveals, for the first time, the untold story of how youth in North America in the 1980s built the largest militant anti-racist network of its time, driving neo-nazi gangs out of cities, winning a war of attrition against the KKK, and taking on the religious zealots in the anti-choice movement. It's an incredibly inspiring history packed with lessons for all of us in 2023. It's also one of the best books on anti-fascism we've read (and we've read them all!). Anyone who donates at least $25 to the International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund this month or signs up to become a monthly contributor to the Defence Fund will be entered to win. We'll be contacting the winners on July 1st.
