One of the best things in this episode is Aye finally opening up about Dika to Akk. As much as it's heartbreaking, it's also a much-needed step before they can let themselves be fully in love, I think. Aye knew why Akk did what he did, and while he might not fully get it, it's his part of trying to understand Akk. However, Akk never had any idea what Aye had been through and never had a chance to grasp the reason he acted that way. The shared story about Dika means a shared pain and also a shared (final) understanding. The transfer of Dika's necklace means that Aye trusts that Akk will never leave him. It was a courageous step for Aye to let go the part of his memory with Dika and for Akk to receive the trust.
One other thing, I think the way Akk and Aye had been protecting each other from the school toxicity was pure and instinctively. Akk, when he found out about all teachers attacking Aye with questions in classes and when Aye lost his notebook, immediately sought for Chadok to question that. Now, Aye, when he heard Chadok shout to Akk, instantly breaking into the office, and once he saw how Akk looked, he was immediately losing it and dashed away to chase after Chadok. I feel it was natural that Akk was driven by his intuition while Aye was by his senses. A bonding that is strengthened by the trust slowly built between them. It’s beautiful, and I love it, and it made my head hurt.

I said last episode was my favorite, well guess what? I lied. Last week me was a different person I don’t claim them. But I digress. This episode was pretty much a delve into the courageous sides and I guess the lack thereof of these characters. For starters, Akk was so brave in admitting his feelings for Aye and agreeing to be together with him. We all saw how conflicted and in pain he was over his sexuality and even Aye acknowledged that by letting him know that it wasn’t easy for him to come to terms with his sexuality. He basically told Akk that his confusion and denial are valid because they are. They are boyfriends now and I absolutely love that for them. (Also look at that dumb smile on Akk’s face 😭😭😭)

Now Kan and Thua are another pair that have my heart. Kan finally reveals himself to Thua as Bruce Wayne and honestly I thought Thua knew who BW was from the jump but I kinda got the vibe that he didn’t during that reveal (correct me if I’m wrong) but that was so courageous of Kan. As a student prefect he has the schools reputation to uphold but he said forget that, lemme go confess my undying love to my lil pookie even if it means I get punished. Also this protest has one of my favorite scenes in the episode 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
Tumblr media
We don’t see kan chanting with the protestors but this little gesture of him putting his hand at the small of Thua’s back is all he needed to show Thua that he supported him. I smiled 😌. It’s so subtle but the impact was definitely felt. Good one writers and director 🧡.
The next group that I found very courageous were all the other students that came to support the world remembers gang (wait is this the name of the triplets? I actually don’t know lol) these kids knew that a list will be made of anyone who came to the protest but they said screw it and took a stance.
Finally, I wanna talk about how the teachers failed all these students. This might be an unpopular opinion but I’m the most disappointed with teacher Sani. I hate how passive she is and how she’s always riding the middle. The students need someone that can fully be on their sides like teacher Dika was, not an arbitrator. I rejoiced when Aye told her to stop playing middle man and pick a side because he’s right, she’s doing more harm that way than good and she seems to be the only one who really sees the emotional damage the emotional damage being inflicted on these kids but doesn’t do much about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The other teachers are so manipulative and pure evil that I will need a separate post to talk about them. Ok imma stop here even though I have so much more to talk about. This pretty much sums up some of my thoughts on this episode. Happy AkkAye are officially boyfriends day 🧡🧡
Ps. We are going to pretend that whole “you’re my wife” thing never happened. Not in 2022 the year of our lord plsss 😭
Ok byeeeeee. Thanks for reading this far 😁

THUAKHAN CONFESSION SCENE!!!
Honestly this has to be one of my favourite confession scenes now because it was so chill ??
Like, I expected this big dramatic scene where Khan starts crying or whatever making himself completely vulnerable in that way but the way he just took all of his courage and straight up told Thua that he liked him??
And Thua just considers for a moment, not surprised in the slightest and asks him about the morning at Akk's house as if to really make sure that Khan is in this and won't back out again. (I had a feeling that Thua knew that Khan was Bruce Wayne for some time now and just waited exactly for this moment to happen)
And Khan seems so relieved after he got his 'yes' because, in the end it was so easy?
(Also the way Khan opened his arms for Thua to finally let him in after such a long time denying his feelings :'))

The Eclipse just doing it all right
Kan apologising to Thua for kissing him and acting like nothing happened. The heaviness of grief and pain that does not simply disappear when you love someone and are loved in return. When someone who is important to you dies, it hurts and there is no good in it, it just hurts and it feels like it will never stop. How difficult it is to voice your feelings. Akk acknowledging that he did really bad things. Ayan being understanding and patient with Akk having issues to say what he feels. How incredibly scary it is to grow up. Not wanting tomorrow to come. But being an adult doesn’t mean you have it all under control, you are still dependent on others, under pressure and sometimes insecure like Teacher Sani but also Chadok. Chadok isn’t evil. But what he is doing to Akk isn’t right either. If you want change, you need to sacrifice something and sometimes it is your own safety - but this isn’t how it should be, you should be able to protest without being threatened. Every single voice counts.
This show is so real and raw. The characters are flawed and yet perfect. It says things about society and people, sometimes quietly like Akk who cannot say he likes Ayan and sometimes loudly like the boys who want the Suppalo rules to be changed because they are repressive.
