In Surprise, Buffy dreamt she & Angel were at the Bronze. Drusilla staked him, he said her name, they reached out their hands to each other as he turned to dust, his claddagh ring all that remained.
On her birthday Angel gifted Buffy a matching one and told her the symbolism of claddagh rings. He said "I love you" for the first time, they had sex, he experienced perfect happiness, and lost his soul, trying not to by saying her name.
In Innocence Buffy held her claddagh while crying in bed. She awakens from another dream, Angel told her "You have to know what to see."
In Becoming #2 Angel(us) was still wearing his claddagh ring when he began the ritual and Buffy ended it by sending him through the portal.
In Anne, Buffy was in LA and dreamt she & Angel were walking in daylight on the beach. "Stay with me." "Forever, that's the whole point. I'll never leave, not even if you kill me." (13 months later In the Dark Buffy sent Angel a magical ring, the Gem of Amara, and he walked in daylight on the beach)
The next day she runs into Lily & Rickie. They have tattoos of each other's names in a heart. Each half of a whole. It's how Buffy identified him. "Forever, isn't that the point?"
Lily asks Buffy to help find Rickie. He got trapped in a hell dimension, returned a hopeless elderly man and committed suicide. Buffy & Lily fall through a portal and get trapped in that realm. Ken tells Lily, "He forgot you...He remembered your name years after he'd forgotten his own."
In Hope Faith & Trick Buffy dreamt she was dancing with Angel in the Bronze, the claddagh ring Angel gave her hours before he lost his soul slipped off her finger, he picked it up, squeezed it to his hand till it bled, and said "Go to Hell! I did."
Buffy wakes up, picks up her claddagh ring from by her bed and looks at it.
Of all the gifts Scott could've selected for Buffy, he chose a claddagh ring, with the help of "a guy in a retro shop" (very Missy as "the woman in the shop" giving Clara the Doctor's number, except this was about getting her back to the mansion). She has an anxiety attack and drops it.
In HF&T Buffy places her claddagh ring on the spot she sent Angel to Hell, whispers "goodbye" (began in 16th century as "god be with ye"), and seconds after she leaves the ring starts to glow and Angel magically returns. Credit has been attributed to the First Evil & the Powers That Be but the only one we know for certain was involved is Buffy.
In Beauty & the Beasts, Angel is feral from trauma and has to be restrained. Later in the episode the first word he says, showing he hasn't completely lost himself, is her name, "Buffy."
I think their claddagh rings became talismans that connected them across dimensions.

anyanka stuck pretending to be a TEEN when she’s a GROWN DEMON.
like her awkwardness and comedy before came from being trapped in a human body and unused to like, teen hormones and not 100% on modern social mores
but here’s an alien in a human suit trying to act natural. “why yes i do remember the black death.....from my previous history lessons. that i’ve been to. and not from any personal experience. solely from books.”
anyanka being uninterested in dances bc why would she wanna hang out with MORE children but in fancy outfits? then someone mentions food or w/e and she’s like “...okay fine.”
anyanka putting no effort into her own homework bc she can just forge everything she needs to go to w/e school buffy’s going to but buckling down when it comes to buffy’s since she was wished to help her so she ends up having to do precalc work aNyWay :/
anyanka trying to protect all the scoobies when drusilla comes for giles and trying to get to kendra in time but failing and feeling her heart drop out of her chest. her realizing just how much she’s come to care about all these puny little human twerps as she’s trying to keep them all safe and failing miserably in her own estimation.

faith probably having a better time with her around lbr. idk how atm exactly but somehow i think anyanka being a prominent member would help faith in some way.
buffy just getting to go to prom and not worry about any hell hounds bc anyanka’s on the case since she dgaf about dances. but she does show up in time to see buffy get her umbrella award and give her a big hug.

spike coming to them chipped and anyanka agreeing to be his warden and when they come over to check on them/have a meeting he’s just fucking free range in her apartment eating chips ahoy and watching matlock. they’re all like “what the fUCK??” and she’s like “eh. chains are effort, he can’t do shit to me, i can take him, he can’t hurt humans and he came to us for asylum he’s not gonna do anything. you guys are just very weird.”

Summary
Alinora Mynerva lives under the alias Jezebel Eramyn. She works for the grandmaster of an assassins guild, and keeps an eye out for traitors; spies; and others who seek to bring the guild harm.
Or she did.
But then a servant came barreling into her room to tell her that he was dead. Her time among the assassins has come to an end–but as her final farewell, she begins to investigate the grandmaster’s death and in the process finds you can’t outrun your past forever.
Alinora is dragged into joining the Resistance, a movement born against the usurper who stole her home and slaughtered those she loved. There, she reunites with a sister she thought lost; finds out her destiny is oh-so-much more complicated than she had ever believed; and is consistently hounded by a spirit of death.

Or, more accurately; a girl who has long given up on herself but not the world, finds that the world has not yet given up on her. And in the process, maybe she makes some friends (who eventually come to be family.) [Unfortunately the more accurate summary is only partially accurate, because I’m not sure all of that will happen in the first book. Oops.]

Kai'os: Old. Slaeyr. Antagonist. Brown hair and brown eyes. He believes that the gods have betrayed them. Unfortunately, the only way to rid them of the gods is to end this world and start over. To many, that makes him a villain… but he’s willing to die for his beliefs.
Kaltain: Age undetermined. Slaeyr. Antagonist. Kai'os’s oldest daughter. Brown hair, brown eyes. Unlike her father, there is little noble and good remaining in Kaltain. She’s a genius, and she knows it, and she’s determined to see this world suffer after it killed her baby sister.
Amara: 27. Slaeyr. Kai'os’s youngest daughter. Blond hair, brown eyes. Amara once believed in her father’s cause wholeheartedly. Now, however, she’s beginning to doubt…
Excerpt
“Who the hell are you?” Alinora hissed through clenched teeth. “And how did you get in here?”
The woman shrugged. “I come and go as I please. There is no place on Eldora that can keep me out… though people have tried.” The smile she wore turned wicked.
Alinora narrowed her eyes. “Who. Are. You. Answer me, or I’m calling the guard.”
The woman’s eyes glinted. “Interesting you didn’t already do that. So confident in your ability to handle intruders? Or do you simply not think that they would answer your call?” She clicked her tongue. “No matter. They couldn’t stop me anyway. Nor could you.” She bowed slightly at the waist. “My name is Elaena. I am the first reaper, Death’s eldest daughter.” Her eyes raised to meet Alinora’s again and there was laughter there. “At your service.”
Alinora scoffed. “You expect me to believe that swill?” She had more than enough time to slip the gem into a pocket and withdraw one of her throwing knives. She flicked her wrist. The woman didn’t even attempt to flinch out of the way, instead taking the hit as the blade buried itself in her stomach.
The woman merely blinked at her. She removed the knife, which dripped with black blood, and spun it, offering it back to Alinora by the hilt. The wound itself was surrounded by a swirl of shadow, and when they vanished, it was as if nothing had happened. There wasn’t even a tear in her clothes.
Alinora stared, stunned.
The woman—Elaena—waited patiently for Alinora to gather herself enough to numbly take the knife from her fingers. Elaena smiled again.
“Now that that’s settled… I need to talk to you. Do you have a moment?”
Alinora closed her eyes. When she opened them, she wanted to be back in her bed—and for this to all be some sort of terrible dream. But when she opened them again, reality stared her in the face in the form of golden eyes and a sharp toothed smile.
“I’m investigating the murder of the Swans grandmaster,” she said, irritably. “So, no. I don’t have a moment.”
“Too bad. I had an offer I thought might interest you.” Elaena placed her hand on her hip.
“If it’s death, I’m afraid I still have a few more things to do.”

I recently got into this TV show called "X-Men: Evolution" and I made a new OC to go along with it.
This is Gemma! Gemma Adeline Xavier.
She's the adopted daughter of Professor Charles Xavier and lives in "Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters".

Before she moved into the school and Xavier’s life, she lived with her step-family: stepmother Rebecca, stepfather Thomas, and her five year old septuplet step-siblings; Aubrey, Jack, Jonah, Carla, Eliza, and Lucas for the first eight years of her life.
The stepfamily wasn't as happy as they appeared, in fact, they were wicked and horrible towards Gemma. Rebecca and Thomas made Gemma take care of the septuplets and do all the housework while they went out every night. At age five, she discovered that she had a special power: the power of shapeshifting! She could turn into all kinds of animals and creatures like mermaids, centaurs, fairies, etc.
One day, after her wicked stepparents forgot her birthday (again), Charles noticed Gemma shapeshifting into a giraffe to reach a box of cereal at the grocery store and slowly got to know the girl and her life-story. After finding out she was placed in horrible conditions, Charles offered to adopt her and raise her as his own child and of course, Gemma accepted the offer and that night, she snuck away from the horrible household and moved into Xavier's school. She's been living with him and training with her shapeshifting abilities ever since then.

Amara steadied herself as she held the blade of her knife between her fingers. She closed her eyes and lifted her arm, already knowing where her target was.
She threw the knife with ease, like she had done millions of times before. She opened her eyes, pleased to see it lodged in the target dead center.
“How come you can do this so effortlessly with a knife, but the second you get a bow in your hands, you lose focus?” Myss teased from behind her.
“Probably because when I hold a bow, you suddenly decide to grab my ass for the first time. It spooked me, okay?” Amara said with an amused sigh, Myss laughed loudly behind her, her memory of that day resurfacing for a moment.
“It’s a nice ass, alright? My turn.” Myss said as her giggling subsided, pulling her knife from her holster as Amara retrieved her knife from the target, blush dusting her cheeks.
There were so many things she could teach Myss about this, especially since her footing was off, but Amara was here for one reason only, the knife hidden behind her cloak.
Myss’ blade was smaller than the one she was about to receive and her violet hands were too large for it. The purple huntress aimed with her arm, preparing to throw and Amara decided it was now or never…
“Wait, Myss.” Her girlfriend looked back to her. A confused expression crossing her face as the redhead pulled the crafted knife from her holster on her back. “Try this one instead, that one’s too small for your hand.”
Amara handed Myss the knife with an added flourish, spinning it into her waiting grasp. She looked over the blade, her eyes automatically drawn to the gem of course, but she didn’t look close enough at first. She felt the weight of it and checked the balance, as she would with any new knife.
“Before you throw it, charge it with a little bit of your light. Like…you would as a Gunslinger. But don’t use solar light, use your void.” Amara said, trying to keep her expression neutral until Myss saw it in action.
“O-kay?” She questioned, but did as her girlfriend asked. She set her stance again and easily threw the knife. Instead of the normal thud into the wood, the knife exploded with Arc energy when it landed. Sparks branching out in all directions as the burst of energy was released.
It was weird how Amara could almost…feel it, even though she didn’t actually use the knife. It was a connection she found out about afterwards that made it even more important to her.
“Whoa…it’s…charged? But I used Void light…” Myss began, questions forming in her head.
Amara just smiled and retrieved the knife from the target. She walked to stand in front of girlfriend, holding it in her hands.
“You did use Void, but the stone is already charged with Arc light. It just needed a little help from the wielder to…activate it.” Amara looked up with a warm smile.
“Wait…” Myss picks up the knife, looking closer. She hadn’t noticed before but it had been clearly modified. The stone fit snugly into the handle, a braided metal band framed the circle that the stone lay in. And the gem itself was stunning. The maroon color matched Amara’s hair and the inside of the stone…moved? “Where did you get this ‘mara?”
“This is my old knife, I think I got it shortly after the Red War. The gem, I actually found on my recent trip to Mars. Touch the stone and watch.” Amara prompted.
Myss looked between her and the knife and she gently ran her thumb over the rock, her eyes widened as it glowed brightly in response. “Is it…”
“Reacting to your light.” Amara finished her sentence, her grin returning.
But when Myss threw it, it exploded with Arc light. The craftsmanship, the stone, the energy that left the knife…
“Did you make this?” Myss asked quietly as the pieces fit together. Amara nodded proudly as her answer.
“For me?” Myss continued. Amara’s smile grew as she hummed in approval of her assumptions.
Myss felt tears spring into her eyes. No one’s ever done this for her before. Amara had fashioned an Arc charged knife, just for her. Spending who knows how long on making it, just for her.
Wait. The arc energy. Myss brought the knife closer to her face, and for the first time she saw the small lightning sparks dancing with the maroon clouds on the inside of the stone, “Is this your light, ‘mara?” Myss asked as a lump formed in her throat.
Amara’s thumb was already wiping away tears that had spilled over, a sad smile on her lips. “Yes. That’s my light in there. Every time you use it, you activate my own arc energy. So I can always protect you, even if I’m not there.” The redhead finished, placing a light kiss on the fingers that still held the knife.
The only thing Myss knew about light connected to gemstones was having to do with the one she wore around her neck, and the price for that necklace was much too steep.
“But how did you do that? Are you okay?” Myss said, her voice sounding frantic.
“Shhh. Hey, Don’t worry. All I did was summon some of my light and focus it into the stone. Warcry helped me figure out how it worked. I wasn’t hurt or anything.” Amara said softly, hoping to calm her girlfriend.
“Oh.” Myss breathes. “Okay. I didn’t even think of that.” She gave a breathy laugh. “Wow. That’s…no one’s ever done this for me before.” Her dark lips smiled at Amara. “Thank you, babe.”
“Anything for you, love.” She reached up on her tip-toes to give Myss a kiss, pulling back as she remembered something. “Oh. Turn it over.”
The small inscription on the bottom of the blade confused Myss for a moment. It was a series of musical notes, but she couldn’t read music and didn’t know how it was supposed to sound.
Amara knew this and began singing before Myss could ask,
Will you hold me tight, and not let go.
Before Myss could start crying again, she pulled Amara in for a hug. She had no words for how thankful she was, how much it already meant to her in the few minutes she had been holding the knife.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Amara.”

Spike Analysis - Season 4
Alrighty, here we go with season 4 of Buffy. I know I said that I was going to do one post per significant episode for Spike, but his character development in season 4 is so damn choppy. His parts in any given episode are small, but put them together and you’ve got a lot to work with. So, that’s what we’re gonna do. From the top!
We see Spike initially in “The Harsh Light of Day.” This is the episode that ends up crossing over with Angel (one of the episodes this season, anyway). Basically, Dru has dumped Spike again and he’s back in Sunnydale with Harmony. He’s looking for the Gem of Amara which will make him invincible. Why does he want to be invincible? Well, I’ve got a theory (that it’s a demon. A dancing demon… Sorry). Spike for sure wanted to be invincible so that Buffy wouldn’t kick his ass the next time he tried to kill her—that worked well, huh?—but I think he also wanted it for personal reasons. You know how Angel always talks about how he wishes he could go out into the sun and be “a real boy” or whatever? I think, subconsciously, Spike wanted that, too. Also, one of the main things with Spike this episode is his new relationship with Harmony. The whole thing is super abusive on his part, and all that is, is Spike wanting to take out his anger for women on someone. It’s a horrible thing to do, but how much can you really blame the poor sod? The dude had to turn into a blood-sucking creature of the night to escape the shame of rejection from Cecily. The only other thing with this episode is that Spike totally gets his ass kicked by Buffy when he tries to kill her on the UC Sunnydale campus. He loses the Gem, which gets taken to Angel, which he then goes after. I’m not going to go over that episode of Angel because all it is, is normal Spike stuff. No development.
Okay, next up to discuss is “The Initiative.” This is where The Initiative kidnaps Spike and sticks that behavior chip in his head. There’s not a whole lot to talk about by way of character development until the scene with Willow in her dorm room. Spike went there to kill Buffy, right, but he settled for Willow instead. Willow and Spike are always great together because, even if he’s trying to kill her, they’re always really sweet to each other. I don’t if that’s because Spike identifies with her or what. That would make sense in this scene because Spike has just been dumped by Dru, and Oz has just left Willow. It could also be because, at Willow and Spike’s cores, they’re just big ‘ol softies. Anyway, back to the scene. So, Spike figures out here that he can’t kill, bite, or hurt Willow. Which is super embarrassing for him. It’s not hard to miss the metaphor pointing to impotence here. The show plays up the sensual/sexual aspect of being a vampire quite a bit. I mean, it makes sense considering the drinking of blood most likely provides the same euphoric effect that sex does, not to mention, they’re both primal acts. Willow comforts him until she realizes she’s insane and hits him over the head with a lamp.
Follow me to “Pangs” for some more Spike-chip developments. So, I’m gonna paraphrase here what James Marsters said in the DVD featurette about Spike on the Season 4 DVDs. Basically, the fun part about being a vampire (unless you’ve got a soul) is getting to kill and terrorize people. You can steal anything you want, kill anyone you want, and you’ve got no repercussions to deal with. However, now Spike can’t do that. Not only won’t he get a job, but he really can’t because he doesn’t exist to the world as a real person. He can’t kill people to eat them or to rob them, so there’s no way for him to get blood. Harmony’s given up on him and the only people he knows in town are the damn Scoobies. So… he’s fucked. This is the first of a few episodes of Spike living with Giles. Season 4 is kind of rubik's cube of confusion for Spike as a character because… where does he fit? You can see the various different scenarios the writers try to put Spike in to make him work within the Scoobies. This episode, for example, is the bit where they try and make Spike into Cordelia. He gets ties up and has to listen to the Scoobies discuss what to do about this Native American spirit that is trying to kill all of them (because they don’t want to hurt him since… well, since America has hurt enough Native Americans for several lifetimes). For Spike, the solution is very simple: all that shit happened a long time ago, and you need to kill him before he kills you. Don’t be dumb. Which sort of establishes Spike as an intelligent and observant character, and that’s something that gets used and abused for the rest of the show. It also tells us that, if they have to, the Scoobies and Spike can stand to be around each other.
Moving right along to “Something Blue.” I’ve not got a lot to say here. This episode is pretty much Buffy and Spike making disgusting smooching noises and Giles not being okay with it. The only thing I would say towards Spike’s development is that it’s the first of two seeds planted this season that end up growing toward Spike falling in love with Buffy in the following season.
The next significant episode this season is “Doomed.” Spike finally figures out that he can hurt/kill demons. This is, of course, after he tries to kill himself in Xander’s basement. When he, Willow, and Xander are walking out of the museum, Spike attempts to make Willow and Xander feel like inferior pieces of shit on the grounds that they’re just weighing Buffy down. You can see in that scene that Spike is happy to be able to cause someone some pain somehow, which seems to be fine for him in that moment. But the real kicker is when he realizes he can still kill—it just has to be demons. And, shockingly enough, that’s good enough for him. This sort of backs up something that he and Angel talk about in Angel’s 5th season: that Spike just wanted kill while Angel was in it for the evil. All of this leads to him, in the next season, believing that he doesn’t want to kill people anymore (that was his reasoning when he was trying to tell Buffy he loved her) and then to him actually not wanting to kill people anymore when he gets his soul. So, this episode is huge for Spike, and we see the results from it carry all the way to the end of the chip’s storyline.
“A New Man” and “The I in Team” I’m going to sort of glom together because basically what these two episodes do is begin the mutually beneficial relationship between Spike and the Scoobies (I do a thing for you, you pay me money. You do a thing for me, I may do another thing for you later… but only for money). Of course, we know this relationship keeps going in one form or another at least through season 5. I’m not so sure about season 6 because I don’t remember hearing him ask for money in that season. However, that’s the only way he could afford to buy blood unless, for some reason, the Scoobies decided to give him money to buy blood regardless because of his help after Buffy died. Maybe he got paid for babysitting Dawn. I dunno.
Okay, moving on. “Who Are You” is the second episode this season with Faith. Faith is already in Buffy’s body by this episode. The scene with Faith and Spike in the Bronze is the second seed that blossoms into Spike falling for Buffy. Yes, it is Faith in Buffy’s body teasing Spike and getting him all hot and heavy… but Spike doesn’t know this. He legit thinks Buffy is fucking with him right now. And you can totally tell that Spike would be down. I feel like this is an epiphany for him, like “Holy shit… she’s fucking hot.” You know? And then he says, “You and me are gonna have a confrontation.” Like, that’s such a formal way to tell her that he’s going to kick her ass? It’s like Spike was rehearsing what to say in his head, trying to make it sound menacing but cool and collected at the same time, and it just came out strange because he was so flustered. It’s one of my favorite moments from this season, for real.
I haven’t got a lot left to say about season 4. I mean, “The Yoko Factor” is a pretty good example of Spike being a very observant character. And it also tells us that Spike doesn’t give two shits about the lives of the Scoobies unless it benefits him. Like, he doesn’t give a fuck if Willow is gay or if Xander feels inferior or if Giles feels unwanted. He’s just uses it to further his own desires, which is classic Spike. I guess, with his deal with Adam, you get to see a different side of Spike in that Spike has never really been below someone before, at least not in the sense of working for them. So, that’s quite strange. And by the end of the season, the Scoobies have gotten used to Spike being around, even though they know he’ll still do shitty things if he can. Overall, other than the chip, Spike doesn’t have a lot going on in season 4. But, next up we’re working on season 5, and oh, boy. I’m pretty pumped. It’s gonna be a good time.

A rectification and a Go girl!
Last episode for me was a nice filling /bonding for what will come for the rest of the season, and a nice moment to enjoy Saileen (Chuck knows that Sam deserves and needs the love).
I reacted kinda badly to the Mertch / Ketry liason. At that moment I may have just been biased, by my growing obsession for Kestiel (just the aesthetic and the “idea” of this ship, is hot really hot).
But early in the morning, reading my favorites blogs, and digesting the entire episode, I realize that I had been unfair with my comment of Mary’s affair.
Just to be clear, I don’t like Mary since 12x12, for obvious reasons.
And even if I try to be positive about this season, because of the gems that we have witnessed about Destiel.
I can’t avoid my clinical and dramatic persona. That’s why my initial reactions are always over the top, and I don’t like to filter what I think at first glance.
So I realize that having a bad reaction to Mary hooking up with Mr. Ketch, was a mere reflection of my discontent with her past actions.
But now, as @tinkdw made me realize, Mary is a woman who deserves and can decide to exchange company or dance the horizontal lambada with whoever she wants.
The rectification, that I need to do, it’s to put aside the shiper in me, and state that I can relate and admire her determination to be who she is under the circumstances that she has been given since Amara brought her back. And how much she fought to adapt herself to this world where the love of her life is long dead, and never had the chance to rise her little boys and share all the little things that motherhood gives to women who choosed this path (I never experienced this, but I witnessed on my closest friends of how happy they are with all the vomit, lack of sleep just for a smile of their little boys or girls) and still trying to have it all.
So again, even if I don’t like her, I can’t just judge or dismiss her right to be happy for a night or whatever she may have wanted to experience with Mr. Ketch.
Writing this I just realized that maybe this was a calculated move of her part. Maybe, and I write this acknowledging her wits as a hunter, she knows the kind of man Mr. Ketch really is, and by getting closer to him she thinks she can have advantageous point of view over all the BMOL plans, for her protection and for her boys.
And in the process have a taste of some British ass. I would do that. I know that this can be a stretch of the plot, because the hook up could be as simple as she expended too much time by his side, he always had been polite with her and “one thing let to another” kind of situation.
But I don’t want just to redeem myself by correcting my big mouth. I want to build a new Mary’s image that can save the day at the end. Because as an awesome and independent woman as she looks for me now, (but I’m still don’t like her completely {she almost kill Castiel with her past hesitation}) the main role she will always have as a priority is to be a mother.
And I said this with respect, for all my friends that show me and share this process with me, and through her eyes and sharing I now can understand a little.
So kudos for her, on his latest experience that I sincerely envy (yeah! I would tap that too). And a go girl if she outsmart the MEN of Letters, while enjoying herself.

A Gift (2/3)
Part 1 Here. Featuring @warcrymidori, with mention of @myssthyss.
This picks up a little later in her adventure. Enjoy <3
The towering structure of Felwinter peak stood in front of the small hunter. The large statues and huge entrance dwarfed her small figure, but she stepped forward anyway.
Before she could reach the door, it swings open slowly, revealing the Warlock she came to see.
“Warcry. Hey!” She says with a smile.
“Hello Amara. Please come in.” He returns the gesture as Amara steps into the Iron Temple, her gaze taking in the huge building. “Have you ever been here before?” Warcry asks, recognizing her awed look.
“I actually haven’t. At least not inside.” She murmurs, lowering her hood.
They move forward, walking past a massive lit fire, “Well, welcome.” Warcry gestures around him with a smile. “My ghost mentions that you have something for me?”
“That. And I was wondering if you could help me with something…”
The Warlock nods, a somewhat surprised expression crossing his face for a moment.
“What do you know about infusing light into objects?”
A warm and excited smile appears as his eyes glow brighter. “You’ve come to the right person, Amara. Follow me.”
“That’s very interesting.” Warcry hums to himself, examining the large sample of red crystals Amara had brought from the Martian cave.
The smaller one remained with her, she gently moved the gem between her fingers as she watched him work. The red rock glowing brightly, the inside appearing as swirling maroon clouds.
She was piecing her plan together in her head and was startled by Warcry calling to her. She left her spot by one of the many bookshelves and joined him by his desk.
“What you want to do is totally possible. Especially with this mineral in particular. It’s more conductive to the light than any other gemstone I’ve seen.” Warcry informs her.
“Awesome. But how? Do I just...focus my light into the stone?” Amara asks, confusion pulling at her brows.
“Yes, it’s that simple. I’m assuming you want a certain amount in the stone?”
“Uh-huh. The same amount I use for my Arc punch.” The redhead nodded.
“Summon your light, then. Hold the gem in your palm. If your having trouble, your ghost may be able to help you focus it.” Warcry suggested.
Iris appeared as Amara hummed, “Okay.” And placed the small red stone in her palm.
She lifted her arm, sparks dancing across her fingers and up her forearm. She tried her best to focus it into the stone but couldn’t quite move all of it. A small beam from Iris helped focus it into the gem, and it began sparking itself.
The crystal began to glow again, but the glow itself had changed colors, from red to blue.
Instead of just swirling clouds in the stone, small arc sparks now moved within the clouds, displaying the new energy trapped inside.
“Whoa…” Amara said quietly, in awe. Pulling the gem closer to her face to watch the sparks dance.
“Excellent. That was much easier than I expected.” Warcry said, nodding once.
“For sure.” Amara agreed, eyes still locked on the stone.
A small smile crossed the Warlocks face as he wrote these results into a notebook on his desk.
“Was there more? I’m assuming you’re not going to use just the stone. Are you wanting to connect the power to an item?” Warcry asked, taking the words out of Amara’s mouth.
Her eyes broke away from the gem and she nodded quickly. “Yes. Can you tell me how it works?”
“Of course! Here, let me show you.” He obliges with a smile.
Amara was seated on the floor of the hangar near Cayde’s workstation. She was working silently, huddled over a small metal table with a very small laser cutter, extending the size of a circular hole in one of her knives.
It had been one of her favorite knives, you could tell by the smoothness of the grip and how rounded out the hole on the handle was, worn down by her aimlessly spinning it around her finger. The metal cutout above the grip was made to clip onto a belt, but she had quickly adjusted the hole to fit the red stone from her recent adventure.
“Looking good, Spades.” Cayde murmured quietly so as not to disturb her as he sat down across from her.
Amara looked up with a quick smile, leaning back slightly to stretch her neck and look at her handiwork.
“You sure? I still have to secure it in there…” She held up the knife at an angle, looking at her lines in the light. She wasn’t happy with how jagged it looked and she scrunched her face in response.
Cayde held out his hand, wanting to take a look, he brought the knife close to his optics, “Smooth out the inside before you secure it, it’ll look nicer on the finished product.” He commented, reading her look.
Amara nodded in response and went back to work. She remained in the hangar for most of the day, utilizing some of Amanda’s tools and Cayde’s help to finish her project. In the end, she was very pleased.
The stoned added weight to the knife but surprisingly didn’t throw off the balance of it. After a few test throws figuring out how to use her light in the stone, she was happy enough to let Cayde give it a try.
Just as she hoped, the stone did what she had intended for it to do and she could finally finish.
“She’s gonna love it, ‘mara.” Cayde said after retrieving the thrown knife.
“How did you know it was for her?” Amara asked, a surprised smile on her face.
“I know you. You would never do this much just for yourself. You were way to focused on making it perfect, and I’ve never seen you do that for your own weapons. Plus, you know, the stone contains your light, that makes it extra special.” He finished with an Exo smile.
Amara smiled proudly at the knife as he laid it across her hands.
“A job well done, Amara.” Cayde said before walking away to tend to a group of Guardians.
The redhead added a few more finishing touches before leaving the hangar for the night. Sharpening the knife and adding a small inscription on the bottom of the blade, making sure everything was just right. She smiled to herself, feeling accomplished and content with her work.
Now all she had to do was give Myss her gift.
