FOURTH. i work full time as a nanny to a very cute ( but also very demanding ) one year old monday through friday 6am-5pm CST. this means my activity on the dash will mostly involve me being here in the evenings and weekends. of course life happens so my appearance on the dashboard is not a daily guarantee. keep this in mind when interacting with me both in character and out of character because i am a turtle when it comes to interacting due to these factors. the best way to get a storyline interaction going is to send inbox memes. feel free to send as many as you like! i promise you i will not complain.

FIFTH. icons, special formatting, and the like will not always be a constant on this blog. i do my best to focus on the writing and interaction over the graphic design though i am not against the use. i to enjoy making things pretty and will never condemn someone for also finding their joy in it. once again just something to keep in mind when writing with me if on the occasion graphics appear or disappear in our threads.

SIXTH. it is very important to remember that even though we are mutuals i am not your resource blog. this is a personal preference of mine because i do find it annoying to have things like graphics, aesthetics, or sentence starters ( to name a few ) reblogged from my page and clog up my notes.

TEN Q’S:

1. When are you usually online?

I work nights and with a schedule that flips once a week, so I’m usually available from about 6pm to 6am CST every other week?

2. What verses are you involved in outside of this page?

Well I have an OC that I’m trying to get off the ground, but...I’m not exactly sure how haha!

3. What is your biggest RP pet peeve?

People not cutting their posts. This is a problem that I thought ended all the way back in like...2015, but I’ve recently seen quite a number of blogs that just...don’t cut their posts at all. Their posts just go on and on with no end...

4. Are you drawn to specific types of muses?

A bit hard to say since Jin has been my only muse for the past few years, but when it comes to characters, I’m usually drawn to the “team jerk”. Even if that role gets played up a bit too much, I’m a fan of that edgy type of character who slowly grows into a group of people and learns to cherish them. Or maybe they just stay mean forever, who knows!

5. Are there recurring themes in your writing that people might not notice?

I don’t know how much I would call it a “theme” or anything like that, but like with what the previous question covered, a lot of Jin’s interactions do tend to lean into him slowly growing to care for or appreciate people more. It’s fun.

6. What are your favorite RP trends?

I really like ask banners. They’re aesthetically pleasing for one and for two, I really feel like they make continuing asks into threads way easier than having to make a whole new post! And even if a banner isn’t used, just answering in a normal text post is a good enough step in the right direction.

7. What is your process for starting a new story with someone?

I’ve come to realize that I’m not the most interesting person to plot with. So that being said, I like throwing around a couple of ideas to get the groundwork done and then mostly seeing where things go from there. Plus, that leaves a few things as a surprise and I definitely prefer to not know where every little thing in an interaction is going to go!

8. How do you feel about duplicates?

BB is a pretty small rpc (just me right now, as far as I’m aware haha), so it’s pretty unlikely to even encounter a character who isn’t a duplicate. That being said, I certainly don’t mind. I would like to see how other people interpret the character!

9. How long have you been involved in roleplaying?

I’d like to say for a little less/more than ten years or so? I’ve never taken it really seriously until the past three or four or so though, so take that as you will!

10. Is there a muse or verse you wish you could write in, but haven’t?

Yes! The two big ones are F.ire E.mblem and A.rknights, beyond what little interactions I’ve had with them. With the former, my favorite games are very obscure, very old or both, so I’m not sure how much people want to interact in those game’s timelines compared to the newer ones like the 3DS-Switch era haha. As for the latter, I think the verse itself is very interesting and leaves so many interesting subjects to be written out. But at the risk of stepping on toes, the rpc seems a little too focused on shipping and...not much else for the most part. There’s also a character or two I’d like two write, but I’m not exactly confident that I could write a female muse well haha!

I’m typically online at least once a day and get very excited about replies. It can be difficult to write replies on days I work because it all depends on how busy we are, but on days I’m off I should definitely be able to get replies out.

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY

The Leytons had always been a family more concerned with peace than with power. Their magic was tied to the earth itself, they fed each other. Their coven was more of a commune, viewed by outsiders as a little bit strange but harmless. They’d take the food they grew to farmers’ markets and when people asked what made their produce thrive so well, Willow’s father would always wink, smile, and whisper magic. The locals found him quirky yet charming, but it was the truth. Compassion was paramount in Willow’s formative years. Her family would help the community and she was taught to respect hard work, no matter what form it came in. Holistic witches were welcomed in their coven, their magic didn’t seem that far off from the Leyton’s own. Perhaps they had to take a few more steps to achieve the same result, but the earth fed their magic just like hers.

The key was balance. They drew their power from the earth and as a result, it was their responsibility to take care of her. Sometimes that meant letting things die so new life could sprout. They’d cut trees to plant fields, but in return, they’d plant new trees elsewhere. Bees were kept for honey, but flowers were planted to sustain them. They were made to live in symbiotic harmony with the earth around them, a challenge that grew harder the more the world advanced.

Homeschooled by her mother, Willow spent most of her time with her many siblings, cousins, and the other witches in her coven. It was a peaceful, idyllic childhood, if somewhat sheltered. A tree was planted for each child born into the family and fed by their magic, Willow’s mother said that was how she knew she could always watch out for her children no matter how far they roamed away from her. As long as the tree thrived, so did they. As a teenager, the restrictions her family followed chaffed a bit. Willow left their home with her sister Holly and spent time traveling, seeing other places, other covens, other ways of life. Holly was happier in the city but Willow felt stifled by the sounds and overwhelmed by the crowds. She missed being barefoot in the field, helping care for the plants and the bees. Her wanderlust at an end, Willow left Holly in the city with the promise to write and call often and returned home.

When the attacks came, her parents told her that, yes, they needed to be careful but that there was no real cause for worry. Even when a letter came from another family of witches down in Georgia they stayed put. After all, a tree firmly planted and deeply rooted need not fear the storm.

And then Ash’s tree was struck by lightning and fell.

Willow was shocked. She didn’t understand why anyone would want to hurt her family, but the proof was there in her oldest brother’s tree. It didn’t make sense. They weren’t a threat, they’d never harmed anyone. In fact, more often than not they used their magic to help the farms in their area. Her family would spend hours blessing the land, encouraging crops to take root and flourish. Their magic could cause harm as well, any magic could, but they didn’t. Not at first. Holly’s fell next and Willow knew real fear for the first time in her life. Laurel went missing right from the farmer’s market in town. Though her tree still stood, within the week branches were falling. Her mother grew thin, pale and worried. Her father harder and angrier.

They couldn’t stay. The decision was made to split up for safety. The family that was so close-knit her entire life scattered like seeds thrown into the wind. Willow’s father took her brother Linden and sister Magnolia, hoping to connect with another coven with more powerful offensive magic on the way to Carden. Willow went with her mother, Ivy, aunt, and her aunt’s young son, headed straight for Carden. Only two days into the journey they were separated. Hunters found them at a small gas station, capturing Ivy and forcing her aunt to flee in their vehicle in order to protect her child. Willow was left behind, unnoticed. She made her way to Carden by hitchhiking and walking, hoping to reunite with the rest of her family there. Thus far, she’s the only one to arrive but she holds out hope that her family is not far behind her.

CHARACTER PERSONALITY

Willow believes strongly in finding harmony in oneself, with the earth, and with each other. Balance is important. She prefers to pause and think things through rather than acting rashly and can take a while to make decisions. A bit naive and sheltered, she tends to try and see the good in people for as long as she can. The war and the potential loss of her family has left her feeling adrift and vulnerable. She’s trying to do what she thinks her family would want, to promote togetherness and steadiness, to plant new roots. Whenever possible, Willow is barefoot and outside. She likes to feel the grass or dirt beneath her feet, she finds working in the garden and spending time literally talking to the plants and encouraging growth relaxing. Plants tend to be less judgemental than people.

PLOTS AND POLITICS

Connection: Ericka Holloway – The Holloway’s are related to the Leytons, though they are a somewhat distant branch on the family tree. They share a great Grandfather - his second marriage after his first wife died was to a human woman, the bloodline diluting through the generations to Ericka’s holistic coven. When the girls were young, their families had more interaction, the Holloways would come by their little community to exchange rituals and stories, but the way their families viewed the growing threats to magic were starkly different. The Leytons isolated themselves in their commune to live in peace, while Ericka’s side of the family retreated to the bayou for survival. Their magic may be related, but their worldviews have always been different.

Willow is hoping to see her family again, hoping that they’ll show up at the manor any day now, but also fearing they never will. She’s vaguely familiar with wolves, one of her uncles was bonded, but she’s never been around this many before. She’s not afraid, having no negative interactions with wolves, but is curious.

One of the few things she managed to bring with her are seeds - their family intended to bring an offering to the Blacks for opening their home, but transporting living plants would be complicated even for them. Willow’s duffle bag has one pocket entirely dedicated to seeds from their farm, mostly plants useful in spellwork or food, but if allowed she’d love to expand the garden and contribute to the benefit of the household

♛ Blaine knew that New York was the city for him from a young age, and that didn’t change as he grew up. He’d love musicals since he first saw Aladdin, which soon shifted to Moulin Rouge (his mother still worries that it was a little much to let a six year old watch) and then to Broadway musicals. His appreciation for music grew too, picking up a guitar at the age of five, mastering it by seven, and picking up several more instruments on the way. But as his love of Broadway grew, so did his appreciation for teaching, and the impact that teachers could have on the lives of young people, after a stunning example of a teacher in his middle school years who subtly helped him on the road to self-acceptance. New York offered him a chance to foster all of this loves, and the moment he graduated high school, that’s where he headed. ♛ Blaine latched onto his music more than he would let anyone in on. On days that he has free, you’ll find him in his apartment with his guitar writing songs, for his class but also for himself, and the things he’s going through. It’s a form of self expression that he wouldn’t give up for the world. ♛ Blaine’s relationship with his father is strained at best. They do well to keep each other at a distance. When Blaine came out to his family, his brother accepted it with indifference (which, Blaine did find acceptable from the brother that had other things to focus on), and his mother with nothing but grace. But his father grew uncomfortable, shifting from someone who would take Blaine out to throw the ball around in bonding to someone who did it because he thought that keeping on track with the more masculine of activities would make him straight. Once Blaine caught onto that, he grew distant immediately, not wanting to be anything less than himself. And they’ve not patched things since. ♛ Blaine loves people, and if there’s a chance that you’re a decent person, he’ll jump at the opportunity to get to know you. And once Blaine Anderson likes you, you’re his family, and there’s no getting rid of him. ♛ New York also allowed Blaine to learn that you don’t have to suffocate your hair with hair gel to be stylish. After his first (and only) one night stand in college and an embarrassing encounter of the guy pulling his hand back and trying to look incredibly grossed out by the stickiness of his hand, Blaine learned that a little bit goes a long way. Long gone are the days of the gel helmet, and his locks flow a little more freely now.

Ha, well it hasn’t worked for me so far, so maybe not. But I love my kids more than life, so if you are a sucker for coming home at the end of the day and hearing stories about how a kid almost launched themselves out of a window, or occasionally seeing me with pants with two clear painted hand prints on my butt, then I’m your guy.

2. That Sebastian Smythe is pretty hot. Have you hit that yet? Hm, interesting, I don’t remember that being anyone’s business. I mean…I have eyes, and Sebastian is…he’s attractive, sure. But no. We’re just friends.

3. We’ve seen you eyeing those community theater flyers around the complex….too afraid to try out? I mean, you know what they say…those who can’t, teach. That saying is incredibly short sighted; some of the strongest people I know are teachers, you have to be strong. Every day you go to your job, never completely sure if all of your kids are going to be there, knowing sometimes that you’re the only person that a child is comfortable talking to, and that’s not to touch on the amount of stress that teachers put themselves under to make sure that they keep their class in order, the paperwork that comes with it, and the planning for each and every lesson. I’m not afraid, I’ve been in a number productions throughout my life. I’m just interested to see what’s out there.

Zulu Time Zone Gmt

The military has its own time zones which are different from civilian time zones. The military names each time zone with a letter A-Z, instead of a common name or abreviation, which is how civilian time zones are named.

Xampp mysql phpmyadmin. The military uses letters to name time zones for efficiency, accuracy and to prevent mistakes when communicating time. Precise time is extremely important when planning missions. Rendevous, extractions and other field opporations rely heavily on highly accurate timing and lives depend on it. A simple mistaken time zone could easily jeopardize an entire operation and the lives of the soldiers in that operation.

How are Time Zones Named in the Military

UTC (Universal Time Zone) or GMT, is considered the “starting point” for imte zones. This zone is given the letter “Z”. Since Z has the call sign of “Zulu” in the military, it is commonly referred to as “Zulu” time zone or “Zulu Time”. Moving West from Zulu, or UTC, time zones are named sequentially from A to M. Moving East from UTC, time zones are named sequentially from N to Y. This intuitive naming allows for simpler translation and conversion of times during planning phases, and in daily military life.

While it is easy for civilian companies to manage the three or four major contintental US time zones straight, remember the Military operates all over the world. Time zone naming is not standardized in foreign countries. Each one has its own unique way of referring to their time zone. Units in different parts of the world can name their time zone one way, while a unit in another calls the same one something different.

The armed forces conduct missions across multiple time zones, in various countries with different languages. Using time zone letters leaves the smallest margin of error and simplifies the communication of time no matter where the military operates, or where the mission is taking place.

Using letters to name time zones make it easier to encrypt and decode plans. The system of military letter time zones also removes the possibility of confusing common names for one time zone with another. Utc to gmt +8.

Military Time Zone Letters and Corresponding GMT Times

The military names time zones in a simple, efficient way. The zero meridian time zone, also called Greenwich Mean Time or GMT and Universal Time or UTC, is given the letter “Z” or Zulu, taking the army call sign for Z. This is the Zulu time you hear in movies and shows. The Z stands for the military’s time zone, also relates to the zero meridian, and zero hour offset for the time zone. It is neither behind or ahead universal time.

Military time zones are then designated letters sequentially in each direction moving east or west from “Z”. Each one corresponds to the number of hours ahead or behind UTC.

Going West from GMT, time zones are numbered A to M. East of GMT, military time zones are lettered N through Y.

The first time zone west of UTC or GMT, is one hour ahead, and has letter A or Alpha. Time Zone A, just east of Z includes countries like Paris, Germany, Oslo and countries like Algeria, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.

The time zone west is letter B, “Bravo” and it includes countries like Finland, Egypt and Libya. Russia is in 11 time zones for instance, its most westerly coast adjacent to the US is in the last time zone that is ahead of GMT, or GMT +12.

The first time zone east of UTC is UTC -1 or GMT -1 (one hour behind), and that is letter N. This includes the Azores and Cape Verde in Africa. The last time zone west of GMT is letter Y or Yankee (military call sign), the international date line. The line that delineates date changes. It is also GMT +12.

Countries in military time zone Y include Fiji and Kirbati.

it’s a bit overdue, but here it is folks — THE FIRST NORTHMENHQ EVENT !! this is a DASH EVENT, and will take place from october 17-23. since all event-related things will happen on the dash, please withhold all non-event threads until the event is over !! details under the cut, and please like this post once you’ve read it.

with tensions running high in the month since everyone has been in laewyth, and the anticipation of the western attack looming, the people of laewyth have decided to throw a kingdom-wide FESTIVAL. these festivals ( which are pretty much just huge, long-lasting balls that are mainly outdoors ) are common in the south, and take place in the main city where the royal palace is located. everyone is welcome to take part in activities such as outdoor theatre plays, sporting events such as jousting, sword fights, and horse racing, dancing in the decorated streets, picnics, and a ton of other fun stuff !! think of it as a festival like coachella, mardi gras, woodstock, etc, but medieval in nature.

with the northern visitors unused to the ways of the south, these activities will likely be bizarre to them. while some culture similarities exist, the north are used to much more religious centered festivals, such as those that honor their gods, and they almost always include sacrifices ( and probably a few hardcore mushrooms ) and things of that nature.

this is a perfect time to have you character(s) interact with people from all background that they haven’t talked to yet, and a wonderful time to explore the differences between the north and south ( and west ) !! this is a pretty generic event, with interactions usually happening during any festival activity of you choosing, but it leads into our first plot drop very nicely. have fun !!

the event will officially start on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17th at 12pm CST ( 6am NZST, 10am PST, 11am MST, 1pm EST, 5pm GMT ).

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY

They spent their life invested in the little things; details, moments, watching peoples’ eyes. They were nimble. Slippery some might say. Their father called them frivolous. Their mother cried. There wasn’t money in magic. Magic isn’t real. Until witches were hunted, and then a child could only be so sure, that maybe they truly belonged… somewhere else entirely… It started as a hobby. Card tricks. A way to keep an overactive mind busy before fidget spinners were a thing. She had a knack for it, sure, but she never considered it more than tricks. As she got older she probably should have outgrown her love of illusion, but it gave her something to focus on when her parents tried to pressure her into becoming someone she wasn’t. Mika had no interest in becoming a doctor or a lawyer or any of the other “respectable” professions her parents pushed her toward. The fact that they thought she’d survive as an accountant just proved that they didn’t know her at all. The more pressure they put on her, the more she bucked their authority. She took to wearing dark makeup, dying her hair black, wearing higher heels and shorter skirts. Her clothing became as much a performance as her tricks, everything designed to draw the eye where she wanted it and keep it away from where she didn’t. Her draw toward the occult started as nothing more than teenage rebellion designed to annoy her parents. Ouija boards and tarot cards were toys, not tools. If her “predictions” often turned out to be eerily accurate it was simply because she was intuitive, not because of any sixth sense. Sure it was fun to charge her classmates a few dollars to confirm or deny whether their crush liked them back, but it wasn’t until she saw, ironically, a David Blaine special that she seriously considered the idea that this could be a real way to make money. After graduation from high school Mika went ahead and broke her parent’s hearts by refusing to go to college. She wanted to give this whole magic thing a try. It was the one consistent thing that made her happy, the way people would gasp in shock when she found their card, the way she could somehow make it appear in places they never expected. She didn’t know how David Blaine did the trick that made the card show up in an unpeeled orange, for that matter she wasn’t sure how she did it either, but thinking about that too much gave her a headache so she didn’t. It was fun and was something that was hers, free of obligations or expectations. The attention was an added bonus. Mika traveled the country, splitting her time between big cities and festivals. Anywhere where tourists could be talked into throwing money away for tricks and fortunes, Mika was there. She worked as a “psychic” for so-called ghost hunters or paranormal groups and led seances, did readings, cleansed locations with sage and crystals. If she managed to ferret out some actual information she tended to write it off as coincidence to herself even as she accepted acclaim from anyone willing to give it. She worked with other magicians when it suited her, split from them when it didn’t and generally avoided anything that resembled real responsibility. It wasn’t real, it wouldn’t last forever. Eventually, she’d have to come up with something she was good at that didn’t involve making a spectacle of herself, but not any time soon. She was young and impulsive and this worked. The exposure of real magic gave her pause. She tended to write off anything she did that worked as skill with acting and persuasion and insight, nothing more. But then there were things that not even she could explain. Maybe it was worth looking into? Especially since she happened to be in Salem for now – surely if there were witches to be found some of them were cliche enough to be in Salem. Finding a coven wasn’t that hard but Mika found most of them to be pompous blowhards more interested in making sure their jeans were organically sourced than in magic. There was only one other person who managed to catch her attention as having any real power. Nick. He and Mika eventually left the “coven” and worked together to figure out what was real and what wasn’t. When the call came for witches to gather it felt like the next adventure for Mika. Nick was far more skeptical and he decided to stay in Salem, but Mika wanted to know. She had to know.

CHARACTER PERSONALITY

Mika refused to be intimidated by anyone or anything. She’s full of sass and bravado and gumption. Her whole life she’s been bucking people’s expectations and marching to the beat of her own drum, she has no intention of stopping now. Original witches, immortal witches, it doesn’t matter to her. Power is power and Mika prefers hers to be flashy and frivolous. Obviously she doesn’t want to be hunted, but part of her is still unconvinced that her magic is actually magic. Did it really just pop up in kids with ADHD and authority issues to help them spite their parents? Responsibility has always been something to avoid, and while she’s smart Mika has always had issues applying herself.

PLOTS AND POLITICS

In her mind, everyone in the manor needs to relax – they all take themselves far too seriously. Mika is still of the opinion that if it doesn’t work out, she can leave like she’s always done. Her magic isn’t dangerous, it’s not useful for much more than parlor tricks and a quick buck and Mika thinks she’s fine with that. Her goals are not necessarily the same as the rest of the witches and while she’s eager to learn more, she’s also not going to be bullied or pushed around for their entertainment.

I feel like Mika can hold her own with the sass queens if only because she’s not impressed by them and not intimidated by their power. She feels as though she has nothing to lose by leaving. Life was great before and she’d always been safe – convincing her otherwise might be the key to earning her loyalty.
