HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY FROZEN!!!
Sorry, I'm late... I've been trying to reminisce all memories throughout the passing decade since the launch of #FROZEN.
In 2013, I was in Japan and had ZERO interest in Disney at that moment. Then I began to see my Thai artist friends started drawing these sisters. I was like who were these cuties? What are these blond beauty-red head lovers' chemistry here? LOL! My friends told me "GREAT STUFF FROM DISNEY. DON'T YOU DARE EVER MISS IT!!!"
In Japan, they launched many months behind the rest of the world due to the translation process. It's a true AGONY to wait. I saw all the spoilers flooding the internet all those time. All I know was they're sisters who very much lovey-dovey for each other.
It's 14.3.2014, the first time I watch a movie at a theatre in Japan. The very first round of the show. And that's it, I fell for them. I was obsessed, I continued to watch them in the theatre for one whole week.
Such a fresh concept and idea from Disney. Anna and Elsa are sure so shiny and lovey-dovey as my friends told me. I can see how the fandoms grew, hundreds of fictions, illustrations, comics all over the places within months. Although this concept is not new at all compared to Japanese comics and animes, when it's "DISNEY" who made it happened, it's become phenomenal and more universal.
Anyway, thanks to Disney's FROZEN for making a big change in my life as well. I met tons of fans who are so kind and passionate in my artworks since I entered the fandom. They've been very supportive till this very day. That's the time when I started to feel like, I finally found something the I worth living for.
Thank you all followers who love my Elsa and Anna drawings, for liking, sharing, and buying my illusts and comics, and giving me lots of donation that I was able to get a Wacom Cintiq, new MacStudio, and stuffs I needed for making my arts. Also many thanks for some fans from overseas who send me FROZEN goodies from time to time. I've been blessed to meet all lovely people around the world. Thank you so much for all the love you gave me.
p.s. Sorry that this year I've been not very active on my FROZEN parody comics and commissions. However, I've been feeling much better lately so I hope I can finish something for you guys soon. :)

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the next season of the anime coming? - There won't be one. Unless the studio decides to adapt the novels, which is unlikely, they don't have enough source material left to make a full season out of it.
Will Saiki get more manga chapters? - The manga finished in 2018. It's unlikely for Asou-sensei to continue this project after concluding it.
Where can I read/watch...? - Re-read this post - I've linked EVERYTHING I could think of. Just click the hyperlink.
Is Kusuo transgender? - He's a shapeshifter who turns into Kusuko when he needs to or gains from it. It's only technically canon as he left the womb as a girl, but it's only a result of his shapeshifting powers. He immediately changes to male - the gender was assigned before birth. If you want to headcanon him as transgender though- go ahead.
Is Kusuo aroace? - Canonically no, but it's a popular headcanon.
Thank you for reading!
More information will be added to this post in the future. I hope you could find it somewhat useful :) ~aoki553

Hi! Can I ask romantic matchup for bungou stray dogs and danganronpa thh?
i go by she/her pronouns, im 18, and i have no gender preference!
things i like: yellow, picnics on the beach, fruit water, black tea, old books, folklor, mythology, cultures, baking, hanging out with my best friends, animals, fancy earrings, theatre, pretty and rare words, summer, watching movies, reading, writing, telling funny stories, smiling conspiratorially to strangers and giving them flowers, drawing, fashion, psychlogy, true crime, dancing, All Tomorrows, old music, sarcasm
personality:
I'm very confident, dominant and assertive person. I voice my opinion, nobody dares to mess up with me. Also I'm calm, full of serenity and femenine energy. I just try to be myself. I appear a little cold but i'm fact I'm lively, sassy, charismatic and kind. And I try to be funny.
I love helping people and putting smiles to others faces. I'm mostly organised but I still can be very chaotic. I'm a hopeless romantic with my heart in everything I do. A bit of a night owl, I've always been fascinated by exploring old European cities and imagining the stories that lived in their streets. I'm a bit different from the rest of the group, but that's nothing to be ashamed of. I'm proud of it! Not all can understand me, but those who take the time to get to know me know that I'm an invaluable friend and companion.
my appearance: I'm 5'7 with hourglass figure, and- and I think picrew is more detailed-
Tumblr media
Yup, I look like this
I'd totally fall for person that intrigued me (I grew up in the middle of nowhere in Eastern Europe so I'm extremely curious about everything). It might be their dressing style, little personality trait, hobby, etc.
They just must have something that makes them diffrent. I find it hot bc they give me chance to learn something new.
I hate fake, toxic, abusing people, bullies, stalkers and catcallers. I dislike eating on town, bc it disgust me (I hate finding hair in my dinner)
Extra notes:
- My family calls me Vampire
- In random moments I sing songs about man killing his wife or about dead body in closet bc my mom sang this songs when I was younger
- I have specific sense of humor
- If I like someone I'd infodump about thing that I'm actually obsessed with
- My friends say that I'm just more kind and friendly Byakuya Togami. Or they say that I'm lost Addams or something
- I'd call my lover pretty words in other languages, bc I can. Also I'll draw them and I'll write poems about them
Have a good day/night!
HELLO! Thank you for sending in lé matchup request 😌
I match you up with…
Fyodor Dostoevsky
• After skimming through your stuff and rereading it again, Fyodor was honestly the only person I could think of. Besides Atsushi who was a close runner-up, I have a feeling that Fyodor would likely enjoy you more.
• Fyodor likely didn’t notice you at first. I’d say he most likely caught your eye first, given his unique style and appearance, you likely approached him first.
• It started most likely with a short compliment from you. You were traveling to Japan Yokohama with a few friends just for funsies and met him along the way. You and your friends were having a picnic on a beach. It wasn’t a very populated one, so Fyodor was likely hanging around there.
• You and your friends heard the sound of boots crunching on sand and rocks. You turned around and saw Fyodor, staring at you from afar with a poker face, and intriguing purple/violet eyes.
• He panicked a bit actually. He didn’t expect you and your friends to be where he’s at. Instead, he took a deep breath, kindly looked at each of your friends, then smiled while walking away.
• You were beyond interested in this guy. He didn’t look Japanese. Was his appearance interesting to you? Definitely. Those purple-ish violet eyes? Alluring.
• Fyodor wasn’t doing any too important business. Well, he was still working on his next step to his goal, so he decided to walk out and just think.
• Some of your friends were a bit creeped by the guy, but you still wanted to figure him out. You tried talking to Fyodor to see what happens.
• I have to admit, he may have been annoyed by you at first. He just wanted alone time at the beach and you and your friends happen to be there. What made him change you may be wondering? It was a specific trait and thing you did that made him reciprocate your interest in him.
• Your outspoken yet feminine nature intrigued him a bit. Such an interesting combo of a personality. He probed you more, asking questions about yourself and taking note of everything. He wasn’t completely obsessed with you, but he found your uniqueness interesting. He wanted to understand you.
• From then on, your relationship bloomed from there.
• Fyodor probably walks around in old European cities with you often. Even if you haven’t been to one, I can imagine that Fyodor would have the tools to bring you on a trip.
• He didn’t see it before, but he finds you pleasant to look at. Your hair, your face, your hourglass shape, he likes it all!
• He likes that you’re likely to voice your opinion. It’s certainly a respectable trait.
• Probably calls you vampire too with your family. How’d he find out you may be wondering? Well, it was probably him peaking over your shoulder and noticing a text from one of your family members calling you that.
***
Your Danganronpa THH matchup is…
Chihiro Fujisaki
• I honestly think that Chihiro might be the most ideal match for you. He finds your confident, bold, and caring personality is something the he exactly needs.
• Let’s say the killing game never was a thing and that Junko never decided to be a menace to society. You’re matched with a nondespair!AU of Chihiro. You probably met him through Mondo and Makoto when Mondo was helping Chihiro build up his physical strength.
• You met Makoto first, and upon meeting you, he felt the need to introduce you to Chihiro and of course Mondo. He thought that if Mondo helped Chihiro with physical strength, you’d help him with mental strength.
• The meetup was pretty short honestly. You and Chihiro got close from the first you two saw each other. As time went by, you guys just got closer!
• Thinks your vampire nickname is a bit strange and laughed at it first. Nonetheless, he decided he’s lightheartedly call you that a few times. And if you weren’t okay with it, expect a very panicked and heartfelt apology lol.
• Baking nights together! One time he did get a little frosting on his nose, to which you responded to that by scooping it off his nose with your index finger.
• Honestly, someone who’s tough-minded like you and more bold is perfect for someone like Chihiro. 100%!
I had a bit of trouble with Chihiro’s part but I did the best I could. Hope you enjoyed! Sorry if I missed anything but I did what I could.

Could we please get some general relationship headcanons for Ann, Makoto, Futaba, and Haru? Thank you!
Of course! The reader is gender neutral :)
Relationship headcanons
Ann Tamaki
Tumblr media
• Considering her past with Kamoshida, it would take a long time for her to fall in love. You'd have to be friends for a while before even thinking about a romantic relationship.
• Her favorite dates include going to the beach and to the mall, even just for window shopping. She wouldn't shy away from PDA, in fact she'll be glued to you in public.
• Unfortunately due to her modelling career, she might have to cancel some dates. However she'd always make it up to you the day afterwards by bringing you gifts you like, for example chocolates.
• Ann would shower you with compliments all of the time. It is her duty to make you feel confident and loved! If you're ever feeling down, she'll make sure that you'll feel better about yourself.
Makoto Niijima
Tumblr media
• It would be hard for her to come out of her shell at first. Makoto never thought of being in a relationship before. She's always been focusing on her studies, so all of this would be new to her. She'd feel awkward in the beginning but would feel at ease later down the line.
• Study dates. Lots of study dates. Even if your grades are fine she'd still want to study together. Makoto will ask to study together mostly at Leblanc, where you can enjoy some nice coffee on top of it.
• She's not a fan of PDA, she prefers keeping such things private. However if you try to hold her hand in public, she'll become very flustered. Makoto would go become adorably shy from any kind of physical affection, it takes her a lot of time to become used to the newly found affection.
• When she's with you, she would be willing to try out new things like going to the arcade. She's never been to it before but she'd really enjoy it together. Also expect subtle hints of her wanting to see that new action movie in the theatre.
Futaba Sakura
Tumblr media
• I hope you are a gamer or else she will turn you into one. From Animal Crossing to Call of Duty, she'd want to play every game with a multiplayer with you.
• In the beginning she'd be very nervous around you, she's never been in a relationship before and is generally shy around new people. Eventually she'll warm up to you pretty fast once she knows you well.
• Her ideal date would be gaming all night together with you. She'd prefer to do something at home together, but she wouldn't mind going outside with you. Futaba would be far more comfortable in public as long as you are with her.
• Expect a lot of teasing and jokes on her part. Futaba would certainly put her hacking abilities to good use. One day you'd turn on your PC, just to be greeted by an 'I love you :)' message. Then a week later your background has been changed to a picture of cats. Everytime you turn on your PC you'll have to expect something new popping up.
• Also if Sojiro isn't fond of you, you're going to have a hard time.
Haru Okumura
Tumblr media
• Just like Ann, you'd have to be friends for a long time before starting a relationship. With her former fiance and people using her for her status, she'd have to trust you first before falling in love.
• Haru would love tea parties. She'd serve amazing tea and have some deserts prepared for you. Expect to watch many horror movies at the movie theatre with her too, those are her favorite after all. You'd help her with her work in Shujin's garden too.
• Great hugger, she'd be suprisingly soft due to her cozy attire. And she would make sure to give you a lot of them. On top of that she would let you play with her hair.
• Considering she's the heiress of one of the largest companies in Japan, she would not shy away from giving you lots of gifts. Once something catches your eyes when you two are outside, you will recieve it from her in one way or the other.

10/31/2023
I did not want to wake up at all from my dreams last night and when I did, I kept trying to go back to the same dreams since they were so good I didn’t want them to stop. It felt like I was in the Nana anime or something it was amazing.
First dream - all I can remember is that I was at a Boy Harsher/ Ultra Sunn/ Brutalismus 3000 show at this little venue in Japan called Garbage or Garage (can’t remember) and somehow I ended up next to Pete Davidson haha I was like no way wtff is that Pete !!! Instant heart eyes, I was totally tripping out. The band playing was beefing on stage for some reason idk but it gave me a chance to talk and hang out.
He had cornrows and was wearing an orange hoodie (so cute) and there was some girl I was hanging out with in between us, so I was about to ask her to switch spots with me so I could be next to him but then he just moved her out of the way and got right next to meee and was all over me and flirting. I was cheesing so hard lol. I asked him if he was there to see the bands play and he was like of course why else and joking around and then he got right behind me so I was standing between him and this barricade and we watched the show like that with him holding me from behind with his arms around me 🥹 then he kissed me and we made out while the music played and I was soooo happy. And then I woke up 💔🥲
Pete if you’re out there just know that I would accept you just the way you are!! love bombing and all bc tbh who shouldn’t be that obsessed and in love with their partner aka me lmao (I’m clearly unhinged!!!)
I tried going back to sleep and keep the dream going.
I was in another dream but still in Japan. (Pete was gone 😭) Waiting at some subway station or train station for the train to go back home or whatever, and there were all these crane games n machines like an arcade so I was trying to find some coins to play in my bag so I could win a care bear while I waited. The machine I wanted to play wasn’t on so I tried getting it to work, banging it and stuff and this guy standing near me helped me.
I couldn’t find my wallet so I turned to him and asked if he had any coins, I lost mine at the show and he said no sorry 😀 but I’m the manager of Garage (the venue from the show in my last dream) and told me he could take me back there later and help me find my purse.
I asked like how can someone so young be a manager 🤨 and he just smiled. Then next thing I knew we’re holding hands and walking towards the movie theatre to watch some random movie idk. So weird but he was really cute and tall and I was like whatever take me anywhere idc 😀
He bought our tickets to the movie and was talking to the concession stand lady in Japanese what we wanted for snacks, and was standing behind me being all cute and boyfriend like, giving me kisses and all kinds of pda. He ordered us some random beef which was really weird looking then I heard some of the cleaning ladies near us that were sweeping speak Spanish and I was like whoa, I didn’t expect to hear Spanish here in Japan.
Then I woke up 🥲💔
I tried going back to the dream but at that point I had to wake up in like 30 min for work so the dream didn’t feel as natural and felt more forced and I can’t remember much but I feel all warm and fuzzy thinking bout how I met and made out with PD in my dreams and some random Japanese guy lmao.
I always wonder what my dreams mean, especially when it feels like a movie like last night. They probably mean nothing but I’ve always had very vivid and movie like dreams.
I haven’t had nice dreams like that in awhile.

I’m Eren, who’s left-handed. (Sugiura Eren 1st blog)
Everyone, it’s nice to meet you.
I’m Sugiura Eren from Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora!
Given how this is my first blog, I thought I’d introduce myself, but turns out I don’t really know who I am just yet, so I’ve decided to post a short blog this time.
(Once I finished writing this, I decided to look back on it and… it really isn’t all that interesting….)
Please take a look if you feel inclined to do so.
Name: Sugiura Eren
Age: 15-years-old (I’m a pupil in 3rd year junior high school) Actually, I’m the fourth youngest in the group!
Birthday: 19/06/2008 I like the number 0619 because it’s quite cute lol
Tumblr media
↑ Speaking of birthdays、、、 I used to have my photos taken here [in front of the blackboard]!
Did you guys see the introduction video? I danced in the pool while holding a deck brush 🕺 I was very nervous, but in the end, I was happy because it turned out to be a very nice video 🥰 I’ll post some more photos from the MV / intro video shooting sometime in the future!!
Please watch it again and again!
Birthplace: Aichi Prefecture It’s the same as Imai Yuki! I love Aichi! manaca [Nagoya, the capital of Aichi, is said to be in the center of Japan, and, given how ‘manaca’ is derived from the word ‘mannaka’ (center), this word designates Nagoya’s center-like attributes] for life!
Blood type: Type O
Now, allow me to mention my – very carefully selected – favourite anime. They’re Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) and Sora yori mo Tooi Basho (A Place Further than the Universe).
I had a lot of trouble when coming up with the titles for this one, but I decided on these three, they’re the ones I really like!
Related to that, I also went to the 10th anniversary exhibition of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure that was held in Nagoya a while ago and! I now like Jojo more than ever!
Ah! Speaking of Jojo, there’s this movie currently airing in theatres, called ‘Rohan Kishibe Goes to the Louvre’. It was actually really interesting! I’d like people who’ve never seen Jojo to give it a try, too…!
If you have any recommendations whatsoever for anime, manga, dramas or movies, please let me know 😻
Favourite food: Monjayaki [type of Japanese pan-fried batter], ramen and gyoza.
I can eat these at any time and for every occasion. [They’re] The best 🍜🍜🥟
Eyesight: …Not the best
Things that made me happy recently:
Eating monjayaki with the members
Seeing a film together with the members
And… last but not least… turning 15 years old.
Is this it for now?! What did you think? This has been my self-introduction!
I want you all to get to know me better and better through the course of my activities, so this shall be the end of my self-introduction!
Initially, I was actually going to write about what happened during the second round of the audition, but I feel like this blog would probably become too long, so maybe I’ll write about it next time! Well, it is what it is!
I’ll keep blogging freely like this, so please keep checking it out if you’d like to do so 👀
I’m also thinking that, someday, I would like to answer some of your questions left in the comments of the blog 🌐
So if you have any questions about me, Eren, I’ll be waiting for them!
Thank you for reading all the way to the end!
So long and Arrivederci!

Live Spectacle NARUTO: An Introduction to the "Live Spectacle NARUTO"
The "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (also known as "Narusute") is a 2.5D stageplay adaptation of Kishimoto Masashi's popular series, "NARUTO".
For a description of "NARUTO", please refer to this link: HERE
INTRODUCTION: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the "Live Spectacle NARUTO"?
The "Live Spectacle NARUTO" is a 2.5D musical/stageplay franchise. The term "2.5D musical/stageplay" refers to a genre of Japanese theatre where 3D musical and stageplay adaptations are done based on 2D sources, such as manga, anime and games. Therefore, it is not a live action movie, but is instead a live action stageplay production (think Broadway and West End, and not Hollywood) where real life theatre actors play the characters.
Are the voice actors of "NARUTO" and the actors of the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" the same?
The voice actors of "NARUTO" are not the same as the actors of the "Live Spectacle NARUTO". The actors who play the characters in the stage/musical franchise are theatre actors, not voice actors. As an example, the voice actor for Hatake Kakashi in the NARUTO anime is Inoue Kazuhiko, but the actor playing him in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" is Kimisawa Yuki.
Is it cosplay?
It is not cosplay, but a theatre production franchise with professional actors playing the roles of the different NARUTO characters (think Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man or Henry Cavill as Superman), and in many cases, like the actors of the "Live Spectacle NARUTO", win their roles through auditions. According to the actor Sato Ryuji, who plays Uchiha Sasuke, his audition for "Live Spectacle NARUTO" was 9 hours long.
Is it a musical?
The "Live Spectacle NARUTO" is not, strictly speaking, a musical. It was given the name "live spectacle" because the production staff wanted to create an adaptation that could bring life to the NARUTO world in the best possible way and create a show that would be a live spectacle of action-packed stunts as well as projection mapping and other special effects.
This means that the format of the productions are done according to what suits the story best. As an example, the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (2015), which is the first stage production in the franchise, is a straight play and not a musical. However, the new production following that, the "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Akatsuki no Shirabe~" (2017), is a musical.
How many "Live Spectacle NARUTO" musicals/stageplays are there?
As of the writing of this post, there are 5 productions: 3 new productions (2015, 2017, 2021) and 2 reruns (2016, 2019).
For more information about the different productions and how to watch them, please refer under the cut.

Sato Ryuji as Uchiha Sasuke **
Tumblr media
Ito Yui as Haruno Sakura
Tumblr media
Kimisawa Yuki as Hatake Kakashi
Tumblr media
* Matsuoka Koudai played Uzumaki Naruto from 2015 to 2019, and has been replaced by Nakao Masaki for the first time in the currently ongoing "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~". Motoki Seiya also temporarily took on the role for the World Tour of the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (2016).
** Even though Sato Ryuji played Uchiha Sasuke in the Japan run of the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" (2016), he was unable to play the role for the World Tour due to a scheduling conflict. During that time, he was temporarily replaced by Sakurai Keito.
It is quite the feat that the "Live Spectacle NARUTO" has managed to keep its core cast intact for this long as it is one of the longest-running 2.5D musical/stageplay franchises that is currently still running, and cast changes and graduations are commonplace in the industry.

Mugen Ressha-Hen: Movie vs. TV Anime
Now that the TV adaptation of the Mugen Train Arc has come and gone, I figured it might be interesting to compare the TV anime with the movie, and discuss the merits and disadvantages of both versions of this central arc. (Note: Discretion is advised, as some spoilers for the manga, primarily in the form of discussion of the narrative's structure will follow beyond the break.)
For a bit of background, I joined the Kimetsu fandom just a few months before the movie's Japanese premiere, and a few months after the manga ended. The manga's art hadn't sold me, so I figured I'd wait until the movie, and keep myself as an 'anime-only' consumer. Suffice it to say that due to the combined efforts of my Shonen Jump subscription, my own impatience to see what happened, and nearly getting spoiled by YouTube comment sections, I caved and read the manga over the course of August 2020. With that done, the only thing I had left to look forward to was the movie's release in the States, so be aware that this may influence my opinions slightly.
The Movie:
I don't think it's a surprise to anyone to say that this movie was one of the most anticipated US anime film releases in the year of 2021. Pushed back several months from its planned release date of February 26th in the hopes of drawing more people to theatres once COVID restrictions had loosened, fans had been chomping at the bit, ready for the film that had broken so many records in Japan to finally air. So come April 22, the day the film had its first advance screenings in the US, the air was abuzz, although I normally don't see R-rated films because they tend to not align with my personal values, I had talked it over with my parents, and we agreed that I should go see Mugen Train.
So there I was, standing in the theatre lobby, wearing my Tomioka haori (I would have worn something Kyojuro related, but I didn't have anything at the time). Some people complimented my haori and assured me I'd love the film. I commented that I'd already read the manga, and so we joked about "Oni ni nare, Kyojuro." I found my seat, with my traditional Cherry Vanilla Diet Coke, my movie drink of choice.
One of the biggest draws of Mugen Train as a film is of course, the movie theatre experience. Sometimes, there exist films that are just made for watching on that big screen, with their visuals just so perfect for that large canvas, and their soundtracks perfectly mixed for the surround sound. And hoo boy, if the Mugen Train film did not deliver on those fronts! The visuals, as I expected from Ufotable, were incredible, and while Enmu's flesh tentacles aren't the best CGI they've ever done, I wouldn't actually notice that unless someone actually showed me a comparison to some better CGI they've done. But in some aspects, like Flame Breathing's visuals, as well as the whole fight with Akaza were visually stunning, and captured the soul of those techniques, and seeing one of my favorite 1 v. 1 fights in motion, and even expanded upon was an absolute joy.
However, one of the best pros to the Mugen Train film adaptation is something I didn't realize about the arc until after the TV anime adaptation began to air: The pacing. Mugen Train, while one of the shorter arcs of the story in terms of length, it is surprisingly the slowest paced arc in the entire series. Watching the TV anime cut up the arc into weekly, 22 minute pieces was honestly quite frustrating, and it doesn't make the viewing experience better. The pacing is quite slow until Tanjiro wakes up, and for the TV anime, that took up half of the series eight weeks on the air. It also takes up the first half of the film adaptation, however, the slower pacing is benefitted from receiving the whole arc in one, unbroken package.
TV Anime Adaptation
I will be the first to admit that my perspective on the TV anime version is warped by a few factors: Unlike the Japanese release, which happened a year or so before the TV anime began, it had only been a few months since the film had opened in the US, so the film felt like a very recent experience. However, I was excited by several prospects:
1. The TV rating. Due to the film's R-rating in the states, I had not taken my younger brother, who was my watching buddy for the show, and by this point, finished with the manga. Whilst I felt the R-rating for the film in US theatres was undeserved, I wasn't gonna force anyone to go see it, if they felt uncomfortable with the rating. So, the TV Anime arc ended up as his first exposure to animated Mugen Train.
2. Anime original Rengoku episode+ other new content. With the announcement that episode one would be an anime exclusive story depicting Rengoku's journey to the Mugen Train, I was understandably hyped, and even more so by the prospect of new content.
While the first element remained enjoyable throughout the arc, it was the only reason I actually watched beyond the Rengoku episode, and just watching the new OP and ED by LiSA. I felt as though we'd been promised almost a 'Mugen Train Extended Edition', perhaps not quite as grand as the ones for Peter Jackson's Lord of The Rings trilogy, but certainly something that would add to the story, but in the end, it felt like barely any new content was added. It felt like the film was Frankensteined into an episodic format, which exacerbated some of the aforementioned pacing issues. In my opinion, the best new scene we got was actually in the Rengoku episode, when we see the cuts between Granny's memories of Shinjuro, and Kyojuro sheathing his own sword, which was the perfect combination of music, animation, and meaning. It's only one scene, but it perfectly encapsulates the idea of Shinjuro once being a passionate man like Kyojuro remembers- the sort of man he was when Ruka was still alive.
Tuberculosis guy holding on to one of Tanjiro's heart sprites like explained in the manga was also a nice touch, but coming from a manga reader perspective, it also felt unnecessary, since it was information I already had. However, your mileage may vary.
In the end though, the TV arc fulfilled it's purpose- it kept Demon Slayer in the public eye until the Entertainment District Arc premieres in just a couple of days. That arc does well at many of the things Mugen Train struggled with; one of the big ones being that it balances it's ensemble cast quite well, with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Tengen and his wives all getting their time in the spotlight; while occasionally Mugen Train feels like the Tanjiro, Rengoku, and Inosuke show.
My Verdict:
If you want to know which way I think is the best way to watch Mugen Train, here it is: Watch the movie, and then go back and watch episode one of the TV anime arc. I personally feel that the emotional experience of Mugen Train is made much more potent by viewing it in one, unbroken experience. If possible, watch it on a big screen with a nice sound system. But, there is one thing that you absolutely must do: watch Mugen Train in the way you want to. If you prefer just moving right from S1 episode 26 into the TV Mugen Train adaptation, more power to you- because either way, you're experiencing this story- a story that influenced me, and one that still remains emotionally impactful regardless of the way you experience it.

MOONLIGHT MASK
Starman, aka Super Giant, was Japan’s answer to Superman, appearing in theaters in a 9 films between 1957 and 1959.  He was also Japan’s first superhero on film.
During that time, Japan’s answer to Batman or The Shadow appeared on Japanese television.  Gekko Kamen, aka Moonlight Mask in English (also Moon Mask Rider), was the very first tokusatsu, live-action superhero on Japanese television.
Tumblr media
Moonlight Mask fought crime, carried two snub-nosed .38 revolvers, rode around on a motorcycle, and usually could be heard singing his theme song (I ain’t making this up!) before he appeared out of the darkness.  He had no super-powers except the ability to never run out of bullets, and never get his cape caught in his motorcycle’s spokes.
As for his choice of weapons, he couldn’t have picked worse.  .38 caliber revolvers were standard issue for many police forces at the time.  However, the .38s were notorious for terrible penetrating and stopping power; there have been documented instances of the bullets bouncing off someone just wearing a nylon windbreaker!  And generally, the longer a handgun barrel is the more accurate it will be.  The only reason anyone wore snub-nosed.38s was because they were easily concealable underneath jackets or other clothes.  But for 99% of users they were only effective at point-blank range.
Tumblr media
Japanese DVD cover for episodes 47-58 of the television series, part of the Skull Mask storyline.
Moonlight Mask was always coming to the aid of Police Inspector Matsuda, usually when some bizarre, diabolical villain was involved.  No one knew who Moonlight Mask was, and his secret identity was never revealed.  In the cast credits Moonlight Mask was always played by a question mark (”?”).  However, even the dullest of audience members could figure that Moonlight Mask was very probably private detective Juro Iwai, played by actor Ose Koichi, because the two characters are never, ever seen at the same time.
Tumblr media
Cover to the Japanese DVD for the film Moonlight Mask - The Monster Kong.  Gotta say, this Kong isn’t as impressive as the television version.
Moonlight Mask debuted on Japanese television in February 1958 and ran for a total of 131 episodes, ending in July 1959.  The episodes were run serial-style, with each episode picking up right where the previous one ended (usually with a cliff hanger of sorts).
The episodes were organized into 5 stories.  The first story, Skull Mask, ran the first 72 episodes.  The second story, The Secret of the Paradai Kingdom, ran 21 episodes.  Mammoth Kong, the third story, was 11 episodes long, and featured the first television kaiju.  Story number four, The Ghost Party Strikes Back, was 13 episodes long.  And the final story of the series, Don’t Turn Your Hand to Revenge, ran for 14 episodes.
Tumblr media
Mammoth Kong as he appears in the television series.  He’s a fearsome looking brute!
I was only able to find available for sale in the USA the first four chapters of Mammoth Kong.  Above is the cover of the DVD that I purchased from Amazon.  The episodes are subtitled in English, but appear to have been lifted from Youtube.
Despite being an early television show, with a very limited budget, I was very entertained by these episodes.  Mammoth Kong is a mutant giant ape, approximately 45-50 feet tall.  The scale model building for the Mammoth Kong scenes, while not up to Eiji Tsuburaya’s standards, were convincing enough.  And instead of using an expensive optical process to put humans in the same scene as the Mammoth Kong, they used marionettes instead.  It sounds goofy, but it was actually pretty effective.
Tumblr media
In addition to the television series, Toei Films produced six Moonlight Mask films during the same time period.  There films were released in 1958, and the second three films were released in 1959.
Tumblr media
That’s the diabolical Skull Mask and his gang of eyeball minions threatening Moonlight Mask.
The films were Moonlight Mask, Moonlight Mask - Duel to the Death in Dangerous Waters, Moonlight Mask - The Claws of Satan, Moonlight Mask - The Monster Kong, Moonlight Mask - The Ghost Party Strikes Back, and Moonlight Mask - The Last of the Devil.
Tumblr media
The films were adaptations of the stories from the television series. with Skull Mask - the longest story - getting divided into two films.    They were filmed in 2.35:1 aspect (”Toei Scope”) and had slightly better production value.  Also, Moonlight Mask and Detective Juro Iwai (if they really are the same person) is played by actor Fumitake Omura.
Tumblr media
Japanese DVD cover for the film Moonlight Mask - The Claws of Satan.
Think about how neat it was to be kid in Japan back then: not only could you see Moonlight Mask on TV every week, but you could go to the movie theatre and see him at the same time!  The equivalent today would be watching Superman and Lois on TV at home, and having a new Superman film showing up at your local multiplex (anybody remember those?) every 4 months.
Tumblr media
The television series and films were quite popular and doing well.  Unfortunately, a young Japanese boy died imitating one of Moonlight Mask’s stunts.  This led to the cancellation of the television series and the films coming to an end.
(A similar incident led to director Teruo Ishii, who directed several of the early Starman/Super Giant films, to leave the series after a young boy had been hurt imitating Starman.)
Tumblr media
An early soft vinyl (sofubi) Moonlight Mask figure.
Tumblr media
A manga of Moonlight Mask made the scene a few months after the television series started.  Much of the artwork in the manga was by Jiro Kuwata, the creator of 8 Man.  He is better known in the West as the artist of the Batman manga from the 1960s, which were collected and released by DC Comics a few years ago.
Tumblr media
The Marmit 1:6-scale Moonlight Mask action figure.  He has automatics here, which he never used in the television series, so thes may be based on the film version. (Yeah, I know he needs to be touched-up with a Tide Pen.  You try keeping your white costume clean when you’re tussling with bad guys!)
Moonlight Mask would return in 1972 for a 39-episode anime series.  He had an updated costume, with a motorcycle helmet instead of a turban.  He was also sporting two .357 Magnum revolvers, which in real life would be only slightly more accurate than his old snub-nosed .38s, but with a heck of a lot more stopping power.
Tumblr media
The Medicom Real Action Heroes (RAH) 1:6-scale action figure of the anime version of Moonlight Mask.
The anime series was apparently very popular in Latin America, where it is known as Centella.
Tumblr media
The anime was broken into three 13-part story arcs: The Claw of Satan, The Mammoth Kong, and The Dragon’s Fang.  I’ve never seen the anime, but based on the titles alone I’m assuming the fist two stories are based on the original series.
There was also a gag anime, We know You, Moonlight Mask-kun, which had 25 episodes broadcast between October 1999 and March 2000.  I know next-to-nothing about this series.
That brings us to 1981, and the most embarrassing point on Moonlight Mask’s career:
Tumblr media
The Moonlight Mask movie, known in English as Moon Mask Rider.
This movie was an attempt to update Moonlight Mask for the 1980s, complete with giving him a suped-up motorcycle.  I’ve only seen clips from this film, and I was not impressed.  The kindest review of the film of several I’ve read describes it as dull; not bad, but not good.
None of the original series’ characters return, and Moonlight Mask even has a new secret identity!  The actor who played Moonlight Mask, Daisuke Kuwahara, was never seen in films again after this movie bombed big time at the box office.
Tumblr media
The 1981 movie version of the Moonlight Mask costume, which seems to incorporate elements from both the television and anime versions.
Sadly, that was the last time Moonlight Mask was attempted in live action, and he hasn’t been seen in anime in over 20 years. Unfortunately, only Japanese versions of the Toei films, and a few chapters from the television series, are available for sale in the USA.  The DVD covers shown above are all from Amazon’s site.
Tumblr media
Some random episodes of the television and first anime series are available on YouTube, but I couldn’t find any subtitled in English.
Tumblr media
One of the Toei films - I think it’s Moonlight Mask - The Claws of Satan - is available in its entirety on YouTube, but it is not subtitled either.
Tumblr media
I’m hoping one day someone will subtitle the original television series and films and distribute them to the USA.  I’m dying to see how Moonlight Mask manages to defeat Mammoth Kong and the evil gang controlling him.

JUNK FOOD: Miyazaki. My, oh my.
By the time my sibs were born I was already a highly opinionated young person, so they were reared on whatever I happened to be watching at any given moment. A lot had changed in my life—new house, new dad, new sibs—but I remained thoroughly myself through it all. Un/fortunately for my siblings this meant they were exposed to fringy things from early on.
Tumblr media
And in the mid-90s, Hayao Miyazaki was not a household name in central New York. It wasn’t until 1999 that Studio Ghibli's films traveled from Japan to be released in American theatres, and 2001’s Spirited Away cemented Miyazaki’s spot in the global film scene. Somehow, in 1997 I had a dubbed copy of My Neighbor Totoro that was played at least weekly on our giant tube set. I loveloveloved the movie and couldn’t believe no one had heard of it.
Tumblr media
Folks: This movie is a treasure. And an ideal gateway film to the rest of the Miyazaki catalogue. Though the story is about a pair of sisters who are befriended by a giant spirit of the forest, the themes speak to the heart of human experience: family, love, ecology, self-respect. And these themes are carried throughout Miyazaki’s films, and almost always through a girl protagonist. The girls in these movies are smart and resourceful as they are thrust into unexpected challenges on terrain both familiar, and strange. That is, we follow these girls through inflection points when they must retain their self-awareness as circumstances change around them; they tackle the unfamiliar to keep and protect their sense of self because, ultimately, the self is HOME.
Tumblr media
I’m not animated (alas), but Miyazaki’s girls spoke to me across language, culture, and distance. My family had changed shape. I was in a new house. I was suddenly connected to tiny babies. But Totoro remained, and then became a shared touchstone for the grown fam. It would have been easy to feel lost in the shuffle during so much change, but I didn’t. And I wasn’t. I hadn’t lost anything through these changes but, rather, had gained a family group to love and share with.
Tumblr media
And by the time my sibs had become highly opinionated young people themselves, I’d ask them which Miyazaki they wanted to watch. To which they would reply, All of them! But Totoro first.

Note
in my country musicals arent really big, we usually see aspiring or struggling rookie actors/actress do them, is it different in japan? are a-list actors casted in musicals? would u consider the past kuromyu to have been successful considering its getting another one?
Dear Anon,
In Japan musicals are still considered niche, but perhaps less niche than in other countries. There are many theatres in Japan, and every single month there is announcement of multiple musicals staged in theatres of all ranks and sizes. But compared to anime/manga or movies, theatre is still a less popular medium.
Musicals in Japan
There are quite some theatre companies of all sizes in Japan, and they all have their own fanbases. But if we are talking about A-rank theatre, then there are two prestigious theatre companies: TOHO stage (owner of the Imperial Theatre and affiliated with the Ministry of Culture) and Takarazuka Revue owned by Hankyu Railway, THE railway company in Japan. TOHO stage and Takarazuka however, ultimately belong to the same parent company, TOHO Co., Ltd., making them essentially sibling companies. So this parent company basically has the ‘monopoly’ of elite theatre in Japan. Officially, the top tier actors affiliated with these two companies are recognised as the A-list actors in Japan.
GENERALLY speaking TOHO and Takarazuka have little to do with 2.5D. The Takarazuka Revue is an all-woman theatre, and most 2.5D are pretty male-cast heavy. Besides, Takarazuka does not “lend” their actresses to other stage performances. TOHO also generally does not lend their affiliated actors to 2.5D except if they as a company have a hand in the production itself, like with Kuromyu 2016 and 2018. Besides, TOHO stage is as of now the ONLY Japanese theatre company that pays all its employees also for rehearsal time. (In Takarazuka only the few top tiered actresses get full compensation; lower tiered ones are in great part dependent on family support). So if one is allowed chance to work for TOHO, most actors would not be too tempted to work for a rehearsal-pay-less production unless they just love the production itself.
Is Kuromyu a Success?
Not all past Kuromyus were a success, but the reception has gradually grown over the years. According to the August 30th 2016 broadcast of Academy Night G, the tipping point of 2.5D as a whole was in 2011, and in 2015 it saw a dramatic climb in popularity in Japan.
Tumblr media
According to Academy Night G’s data, Kuromyu 2015 (Lycoris that Blazes the Earth rerun) was the main contributor to the success of its genre as one of the very few 2.5D productions to not just have oversea performances, but an actual overseas tour. In 2015, Kuromyu visited three Chinese cities, Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
Tumblr media
Ever since 2015, all Kuromyu tickets have been completely sold out almost immediately. For Kuromyu 2018 they even had to arrange for make-shift seats and spots for stand-viewing.
Tumblr media
A much credited factor to this enormous success was TOHO company’s support of Tango on the Campania and the aggressive marketing of: “starring the Imperial Theatre’s pride, first tier star Furuakwa Yuta as the title role!”
Demographic Shift Kuromyu
As for Kuromyu 2021, I myself don’t know how this production may or may not reflect Kuromyu’s success for multiple reasons. But to summarise, it is because regardless of what is going to happen, from 2021 on Kuromyu will have to take a different course than before.
Why does Kuromyu from 2021 on need to take a different course?
Though I reasoned wrongly about Kuro Potter being the least likely candidate for a new Kuromyu, I still stand my point that marketing-wise it is just a pretty poor choice. And indeed, while fans of Kuroshitsuji itself are overall quite happy about there being a Kuromyu at all, some concerns were also voiced. TOHO has apparently retracted their support for the production, and now the question is just how well MKP by itself can live up to the expectations of audiences who have gotten used to TOHO-supported budget production.
Something that must be remembered is that theatre fans and 2.5D fans can overlap, but are NOT necessarily the same. Some 2.5D fans only like their specific 2.5D because it has the association with their favourite 2D work, but don’t care about theatre in general. Some theatre fans only watch a 2.5D because it happens to star their favourite star, but would never touch any other 2.5D work. Then there is also the specific “elite theatre fan” sub-demographic, which is the group Kuromyu has drawn in since 2016... and that is also where it gets a bit tricky.
Tumblr media
By so explicitly marketing Kuromyu as a bridge between 2.5D and “elite theatre” through “the most elite theatre’s” cow, the demographics of Kuromyu saw a clear shift from “2D/Kuroshitsuji fans only” to “including elite theatre-goers”.
2.5D has long had the (undue) reputation of “theatre just to please children and geeks”, and was viewed as “inferiour, amateurish” by the theatre-goers and elite theatre-goers. Especially the TOHO fans did so because - objectively - 2.5D is such a poor industry it cannot even afford to pay its employees for their rehearsal work. And unlike TOHO, 2.5D often stars younger and less experienced actors who are building their career through 2.5D. That is the reason many 2.5D actors tolerate the no-pay work because they can benefit from 2D’s popularity to expand their own name. TOHO in contrast, is a very elitist company and usually only casts actors who have already built their career.
Now that Kuromyu has zero TOHO affiliated performers and seemingly no TOHO support, the normal theatre fan demographic might shift away from Kuromyu, and most elite theatre fans have already shown disinterest.
Tumblr media
This in effect means that Kuromyu that gained “semi-elite status” is now back to “normal 2.5D”. This does NOT mean that it is bad; it just means that the demographic of audiences will shift again. That in turn means that the marketing strategy will need to change. Kuromyu won the reputation of the production that got 2.5D into elite theatre culture discourse**, and now it is out of it again. (**I know that “discourse” became “discussion” or “controversy” on Tumblr, but the word actually just means “conversation”. ANYTHING people talk about is discourse.)
Even if we do not count in the (elite) theatre fans that were a very important group of later Kuromyus, fans of Kuromyu itself have surely gotten used to the higher budget. Some fans here on Tumblr have also voiced: “I can’t go back to bad quality again”. So, what will MKP now do to live up to the "elite” high bar TOHO had (helped?) set for Kuromyu?
Change marketing strategy, change M.O.
From what I have seen on the Japanese side, the marketing is now indeed more focused on and also resonates better with J-pop and 2.5D fans specifically. KMP has made no attempts to market Kuromyu to (elite) theatre fans anymore.
Conclusion
So can Kuromyu 2021 reflect the success of Kuromyu in general? That is hard to say, because their strategy has already diverted from when Kuromyu reached unprecedented “elite” status. I think if anything, it mostly reflects Kuroshitsuji’s success.

LIP×LIP QR Code Drama Tracks English Translation
Tumblr media
Yes, from the standees located at various film theatres in Japan. I took the time to translate because why not. However, some parts aren't word by word translation (especially at Pattern B) but only the gist of it. Japanese and English aren't my first language so I apologize if you find mistakes. As always, if you're going to use/reference my translations, please do not claim it as your own and credit me :D
A dear friend shared the tracks to me. Thanks a bunch @ milleflair !!! (*´∇`*)♡
-----
T/N: They always start the tracks with an introduction about the film, like the release date etc.
-----
PATTERN A
Aizou: Today, we will introduce the highlights of the film.
Yuujirou: How to enjoy this movie ne.
Y: Aizou’s recommended part?
A: Yuujirou’s straight bangs. (the cutting part)
Y: I knew you’d definitely say that.
(T/N: he sounds so deflated lol yuujirou cute)
A: *chuckles* I broke your enthusiasm, huh.
A: Around that time we hadn’t talked much yet. I didn’t know your bangs used to be longer. Your recommended part?
Y: Mine is “Aizou competing for onigiri”
A: That!? There should be others! The film’s and our new song LOVE&KISS, for instance, or about our unit name! There are a lot more!
Y: No. It is about that onigiri. The tuna mayo battle.
*insert that one shot from yappa saikyou where aizou and yuujirou are fighting for a single rice ball
A: I swear, you always remember the weird ones!
A: They haven’t seen the film; they won’t be able to understand!
Y: That is exactly why! I want Juliettas to enjoy the movie until the very end so I’m saying it!
A: Say that sooner! Then, tuna mayo battle it is!
Y: Yes!
Y: Enjoy the anime and the live! LIPxLIP FILM x LIVE is on December 25!
A: You definitely come and see us, Julietta!
Y: Definitely come and watch us, ok, Julietta!
A: Ready, go!
Both: Look forward to it!
-----
PATTERN B
(T/N: Introducing kansai-ben LIPxLIP, lol)
Aizou: It has gotten cold, ne. We are the comedy duo.
Yuujirou: No, we are idols!
A: Because it’s the Christmas season!
Y: Listen to me!
A: Watch the movie and you’ll feel warm.
Y: That is a can-dle! We are i-d-o-l-s! Stop kidding around!
(T/N: It’s a play of the sounds of the word: kan-de-ru and ai-do-ru)
Yuujirou starts questioning why they’re doing this ‘comedy act’ in the first place. (a.k.a he’s complaining). Aizou says they were instructed by the President about it but even he himself doesn’t understand why they have to do it.
Y: Shachou said it’s fanservice… But well if it will make Julietta smile…then it’s okay.
(T/N: Yuujirou sounds like he’s forcing himself to say this hahahaha)
A: Right on!
Both: And so, come and watch!
-----
PATTERN C
A: Today, we will introduce the highlights of the film.
Y: How to enjoy this movie ne.
Y: Aizou’s recommended part?
A: I think Yuujirou’s full body dogeza.
Y: Why is my dogeza the fun point!?
A: Just how many times did Yuujirou did so in the play?
Y: *chuckles* As I thought you will tell it off like a quiz. *changes tone immediately* Are you an idiot?! If you’re going with that, then, I think Aizou singing the wrong lyrics in our lives (concerts) countless times is more interesting.
A: Oy!!! That part is cut! The movie hasn’t come out yet! Don’t expose the NG (no-good) scene!!!
Y: Huh, is that so. I thought that part has gotten in.
A: It hasn’t!!! AH, ENOUGH! Tell them about the serious highlights!
Y: Well, after all, it is about the story of how our unit was formed.
(T/N: I can’t hear well this part but I think Yuujirou is saying that the President debuted them not because they’re fighting but because she wants to see how they will change.)
A: We will invite you to our secret practice place. I played fine (T/N: during the taping), didn’t I?
Y: Well, to be honest, I thought you were good. Our time dedicated to practice increased. And I’m able to see Aizou and his mom.
(T/N: Yuujirou called Aizou’s mom as ‘Aizou-mama’ not Shibasaki-san. Lol kawaii)
A: Quit talking about my mom!
Y: I thought it was a mess (?). *sounding so cheeky* Everyone was gone by then.
A: Yes, yes, enough already! The highlight introduction part is finished! Yuujirou, end it!
Y: Enjoy the anime and the live. LIPxLIP FILM x LIVE is on December 25!
A: There are parts we want you to see….and also parts we don’t want you to see…but come and watch, Julietta.
Y: Absolutely come and watch us, ok, Julietta!
A: Ready, go!
Both: Look forward to it!

Serious question, do you or do you not think that Kento and Lee Know look alike? When I first saw Kento is a movie called Theatre: A Love Story I was like wait a minute. And then I watched One Week Friends and I was like omg. And then the more I saw him the more I was like 😳 he could me Lee Knows long lost brother. So with that being said, what do you think?
Bestie, first of all, YOU'VE WATCHED THEATRE: A LOVE STORY?? Oml Nagata really is one of the most amazing roles Kento has ever done and I'm so happy there's people who have watched him play such challenging roles instead of typecasting him as being Arisu from Alice in Borderland (I've got a major rant about that coming up btw)😭😭😭Same goes for One Week Friends bc that story is just so pure and lovable and Hase Yuuki is one of Kento's roles that's most close to my heart bc of how adorable he is🥺🥺🥺I just love him so much (and it sucks that Kento says he can't relate to him😂😂)
We absolutely NEED to talk more about what other stuff you've seen💖💖
Okay now, sorry for the rant, I'll get to your ask now~~
Lee Know, you say? Tbh there's so many people who feel like Kento looks like Lee Know, and I agree with them......to an extent. Kento does look like him occasionally, especially when he's smiling a certain way and looks kinda embarrassed?
An example
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He does look like Minho here, doesn't he?
But, I've legit watched so many dramas/movies of him that I couldn't help but notice his semblance to quite a few other idols.
He really looked like K from HYBE Japan in Death Note (2015), as can be seen in this ss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then he also sometimes looks like NCT Sungchan, especially his most popular photo. Many people have pointed this out, and I can't help but agree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See the semblance?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's not all, bc while watching his 2011 movie, "Control Tower, (also his debut movie)" I realized that he even used to look like NCT Jisung back when he was younger!
In conclusion: Kento does look like Lee Know to an extent, but he also looks similar to quite a few other idols. I personally think that since his visuals are almost perfect for the average manga character (hence his nickname, "Prince of Live-Action"), especially from the romantic manga, he actually ends up looking similar to those idols who have slightly anime-like visuals, and obviously, Lee Know fits that bill perfectly!
This reply actually turned into an analysis lmao, but I hope you don't mind bc the question was "serious"😅😅
Have a great day💖
