sometimes i think about how in the original spyro game, they made a complicated backstory about how all the monsters you were killing were actually gems that had been transformed by the villain, which was why you got gems when you killed them, you were simply turning them back into their natural gem state. because the infinitely more obvious explanation of "monsters stole all the treasure" was just too normie and sensible i guess.
