(~Contains~: Ranpoe, fluff, idk what else to put here other than tysm for the support :] )

Poe was truly a quiet man, a quiet man with a thousand thoughts sprinting through his mind like a moon fading from phase to phase at the speed of sound itself. One of the main protagonists in these thoughts of his was Ranpo, a genius who just so happened to be the most oblivious to Poe’s admiration, at least, to Poe that’s how it was.

However, that was far, far from the truth

Poe had asked Ranpo to come over for a simple favor, help find information on a lost documentation about space, about a specific eclipse that was said to have the ring of a heart around it, a truly darling, mysterious sight that would make a damn good book cover

However, Poe was completely lost when it came to finding the picture, and frankly, wasn’t the best at finding other (more digital leaning) sources,

And that’s were Ranpo came in.

“Hey!~ look, I found one!”

Ranpo exclaimed joyfully from the chair be was in next to Poe’s, showing Poe a picture on some search engine on a small computer that looked near what Poe needed, but not quite..

“That’s..closer, much closer..”

Poe muttered softly, looking at Ranpo with a kind smile, a loving smile, one that would make the heart-ring in that godforsaken picture race.

Ranpo, knew exactly what that smile meant, but merely laughed and brushed it off as Poe merely being friendly,

That was until Poe’s pale, cool hand found it’s way to the side of Ranpo’s neck, his thumb briefly brushing along Ranpo’s jawline, an action of which, left the genius completely baffled, even eliciting a soft gasp and a deep blush from him, followed by a soft grin which Poe chuckled at before going back to looking for the image..trying to ignore how the moon lit Ranpo’s face ethereally, and honestly, gorgeously.

From the way his dark brown eyes glimmered like the stars in the sky, from the way his smile lit up a room, to even the way his hair bounced slightly whenever he walked, he was simply..

Radiant.

Poe was left unbothered by the touch to Ranpo’s neck, it may have looked simple, but it was in fact, meant intimately, affectionately, even. He was truly an intelligent man, though, when it came to romance, he was a complete air head, merely winging it until he found something that worked, and my god, this worked.

And even if they didn’t find the image, even if that heart-eclipse was fake..the image of Ranpo’s blushing, nervous grinning expression would be buried in Poe’s mind like a worm squirming through the earth.

And plus, atleast one heart was found that night, and that was their’s.

Not Ranpo’s

Not Poe’s
