Thinking again about Wei Wuxian growing lotuses in the Burial Mounds... something something there's bravery in being soft something something... it's about the fierce defiance in the face of hardship,, growing life and hope and love in a place of violence and despair,,, having the strength to be gentle in harsh circumstances, to choose that gentleness in spite of it all. Care as an act of rebellion! Creating beauty out of desolation through sheer tenacity (and knowledge about lotus farming). The lotus is already a symbol of rising from adversity, growing from the mud as it does; that symbol is amplified and made even more powerful by the fact that this is the mud of the Burial Mounds, a place of trauma and pain for many thousands of people, Wei Wuxian himself among them. He is looking all that terror and misery in the eye and saying no thank you, we will have light, we will have life and new beginnings and green, growing things.
Not to mention the bittersweetness of its connection to the home and life he has had to leave behind at Lotus Pier – that desperate love and duty which demanded everything of him, such that the price for honouring it is that he can never return to the Lotus Pier that he dreamed of in the past... but he still aches for those possibilities now rendered impossible. And isn't that the Jiang Sect's motto, after all, to attempt the impossible? To know that it is doomed, and to do it anyway?

Content creators and appreciators alike are invited to partake in a month-long celebration of Mo Dao Zu Shi in its many forms. For the entire month of October you are welcome to use the above list of prompts to create the MDZS-related content of your choice! Reblogging this post is greatly appreciated, as this will spread the event to more people, meaning more content for everyone! Rules and a written list of the 31 prompts can be found under the read more.
Rules;
You are welcome to participate in as many or as few of the days as you like. Late entries are okay, so If you miss a day but still wish to post your creation for that day, go for it! Just make sure you’ve included the day # somewhere in your post so that I may tag it appropriately.

2020 is nearly over, and I’m happy it is, but it’s still been amazing over here ♡ There’s so, so many people I’ve met this past year, it’s overwhelming just how much fun I’ve had. I can't find this fic, I'm not sure whether its been taken down? because i really cant find it...
It was a modern AU and wwx and lwj are both piano teachers and it focuses on wwx's recovery from a suicide attempt (which is depicted in relative detail at the start?). Its kind of depressing but really beautiful and optimistic and i think it has lwj playing einaidi's nuvole bianche on the piano to wwx (which probably isnt a detail that helps anyone else who isnt a pianist like me whoops).
Id really really love if it could be found, it is such a beautiful, emotional fic :)

I never actually thought that I would hit such a milestone! I just created this blog on a whim to peek at CQL gif sets and reblog without spamming people on my main. So thank you so much for following and making my MDZS journey fun and exciting!
As a way to say thank you, I am going to take in gif requests for a month. It is also with a selfish interest, because I want to learn making nicer gifs. Totally got inspired by Kris’ March challenge and Angie’s Raffle.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the amazing people who made being here fun! Right hand side is the before, left is after. I really am not that adverturous with colouring yet, it’s definetly something I need more practice with! (I really liked nmj the way he was in that gif!) Also, not that much difference in sharpness as I rely on vapoursynth to do most of the heavy lifting in that area too.
Seeing everyone else’s before and after though has really inspired me to try something a bit more extreme, I can’t believe some of the results you guys get I’m in awe!
