time loop fic where Jiang Cheng gets stuck redoing Guanyin temple again and again, and he
refines the disarming and murdering Jiggy thing
accidentally gets Wei Wuxian killed one time bringing his entire clan to the temple
has a crisis about it
has a crisis about having a crisis about it
does the classic thing and starts just fucking around. he finds Jin Ling early in the day and takes him out to do archery or float down a river or go swimming.
eventually checks in to see what they’ve been getting up to at the temple without him. it’s fine, right? probably they’re fine.
it turns out that they really did need chenqing. oops.
grits his teeth and crashes Wangxian’s date to be like hey asshole this is happening and when shit gets weird you’re usually involved somehow
gets in like thirty different variations of the “fuck you for not understanding why you suck. it is WORSE that you agree with me that you suck but are completely wrong about why” fight with Wei Wuxian
gets punched in the face by Lan Wangji at least once
takes tremendous satisfaction in knowing that no matter how much of a scene he makes brawling in the street with the second jade of lan no one’s going to remember this tomorrow
there’s hair pulling
they crash the library at gusu a bunch. Jiang Cheng is increasingly annoyed by having to relay their research and progress back to Wei Wuxian, who keeps trying to argue with his past self about the nature of time through Jiang Cheng.
takes a break to kidnap a wildly confused, extremely suspicious and increasingly worried Wei Wuxian and just get completely hammered.
Lan Wangji and Wen Ning burst in to rescue Wei Wuxian from his clutches only to find them in the middle of a vicious fight that turns out to be about who broke Yanli’s favourite comb when they were eleven.
after many loops and a lot of study Jiang Cheng regretfully concludes that the answer is emotional honesty and does the whole big so I know about the golden core, (it’s nice to know you care but also: fuck you); this one time i tried to die for you because i love you back; on a related note actually what I’m mad about is that you kept lying and leaving and endangering everything I love which in case you forgot includes YOU you dickfuck thing.
emotional honesty was not the answer
the answer is giving Fairy pets because she is a Very Good Girl and deserved affection and praise from BOTH Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng. You cannot withhold pets simply because you’re having feelings about your estranged brother. Unacceptable.
Yes he did spend several loops doing almost nothing but petting her all day but that was not sufficient. he had to appreciate her efforts at the temple, specifically.
