How about stillness and roots for the steps?

also @mihqorio asked for stillness a while ago, but I'm saving your ask for later because there's one part I wanna do at another point

stillness: How does your OC act while still? Are they fidgety? Do they have any common gestures or tics? Does their clothing affect how they hold themselves while at rest?

Antoine: Being still? Antoine? This guy never sits still, if he really has to he'll be fidgety, playing with piercings or his hair, poking whoever is next to him, bouncing his leg.. if he can he'll walk around from time to time. If he's actually resting he won't move as much, but who has time to rest when they've got a criminal syndicate to run? Also his clothes don't really affect this, and people might find it surprising how comfortably he can crouch in tight jeans

Nicholas: either sits too still, not exactly stiff but there’s something a little unnatural about how they are at rest, as if they’re not entirely there. Then on occasion he might have a completely different energy, all nervous and fidgety - this usually only happens around Julia. At those times he’ll keep tugging at his sleeves, or smoothing out his clothes. Also bites his nails.

Rene: doesn’t move much, if she does it’s to start doing something, like tug at her hair, only to stop halfway through. At most she’ll bite her lip. Has her hands in her pockets most of the time.

Densil: in public he will seem.. not exactly relaxed but he’s not stiff or fidgety. An observant person might notice him move his head slightly from time to time, a bit bird-like but much more subtle. Usually has his hands in his pockets, but otherwise his clothes don’t affect anything.

roots: Is your OC's look inspired by any specific style of clothing or fashion trend? What are the roots and/or inspiration for their look?

Antoine: punk and Japanese street fashion. He used to hang out with some gutterpunks pre-sidestep days and he thought they looked interesting, he also saw a whole bunch of different people during that time and was also very drawn to the colourful chaos of Japanese street fashion.

Nicholas: high fashion, a bit bohemian but mainly in the colourscheme / some of the patterns. It took a while for him to start experimenting with clothes, both for lack of money as well as confidence, but he was very drawn to the androgynous cuts of high fashion, while still liking more muted colours.

Rene: retro 70s or 50s. Rene often shops 2nd hand and became something of an expert at finding loose, comfy loose clothes in bright colours and fun patterns which often tended to be in these styles. She liked them well enough and they were cheap and even though she could buy whatever she wanted to now this style is comfortable to her.

Densil: honestly don’t know what this style would be called - modern? At least here it was very common a few years back, just black clothes, maybe some grey, plain black leather jacket or blazer. I guess black might not be suitable for LD but I think it’s always in fashion and doesn’t stand out that much, and that’s mostly what Densil aims for, plus being edgy enough to give a “don’t talk to me”-vibe. His clothes are always whole and expensive.

36: do you own any funko pops?

yes, i have two marvel funko pops. (i also have a star wars one, grogu <3) my first i got shortly after i turned 18, just after civil war came out. i went to spend some of my birthday money in the mall and a store had a few funkos, one of which was the winter soldier bucky one and i knew i wanted him. the other one i have is the ragnarok loki one in keychain form so i can always keep him with me 💜 here they are:

#3. Do you feel more connected to the sun or moon?

Can I say both? They're two sides of one coin and both have aspects that truly call to me... my favorite thing in the world is a warm spring day, but the moon has been the witness to all my poems. I think I might say the moon, though? She's seen me at my lowest. Like, really low.

#15. Describe something exciting or good that happened to you this year.

I haven't had the best of years but I've met some incredible people and made the most amazing of friends! Starting college/higher education was a nerve-wracking experience for many reasons, one being that it was the first time I was thrown in a totally unknown environment since 6th grade. Like, I didn't remember how to make friends. But it came back very naturally and now I have the funniest and most loyal friend group, and despite Covid restrictions and all that, I couldn't be happier. (here's to hoping I get vaccinated soon!)

#30. What do you do to feel at peace?

I put on my "fuck anxiety" playlist, or an ambient sound (like 8 hours of waves or the wind in the trees), or I'll just go sit in my backyard and listen to the birds chirp and cars pass by. If I can't do that, I close my eyes and imagine myself in a calm environment very far from where I am, like an empty beach or an infinite meadow. The outdoors is definitely where I feel the most peace.

cerulean - What would your OC do if time suddenly froze only for them?

Alex would probably take advantage of it, honestly. She's still pretty young- only 24 during the events of FC5- so she's probably going to play harmless pranks on unsuspecting folks. If it never unfreeze, though- she'd probably be upset. It'd be lonely.

peach - What would your OC do if someone confessed their love to them?

Depending on who it is. Like… when it was Eli, she just… smiled and told him she loved him too, because she does love him. But if it's someone she doesn't know well or she isn't… completely fond of, she wouldn't know what to do nor say.

Do you have a weird / embarrassing school or work anecdote you'd be willing to share? 👻

Oh well, I believe I have to disappoint you in this because I simply always try to avoid any possible embarrassing moments. Which is good, even tiny mistakes make me hella anxious and I try to fix them as soon as possible before somebody can notice. Orz

An embarrasing/weird moment for me was at work not too long ago, when our coworker - she is a couple of years younger than me - tried to show me how to dance. Thank God we were alone in that room with two big tables in the middle, I believe we danced tango or something and she tried to explain all the steps meanwhile. There wasn't even music and when we finished we just stood there, she was still holding my hand and we looked at each other for an uncomfortable long moment. I can't tell what made it so weird, it just became strangely intimate.

Hey I'm planning on doing a social media au. Do you have any advise or suggestions for themes?

If you've never written before my biggest piece of advice is to make an outline because when i started Mint I didn't have one and i was just winging it. But after about 10 parts I decided I should probably know what I'm doing and it made sitting down and actually writing easier as well. So know where your story is going and know how who your characters are and how they interact woth one another. But that goes for any story really.

Social media au's are a little tricky because you don't get as much small interaction as you can get with written fics, so include as much detail as you can while still making it feel like a natural conversation if that makes sense? Try to make the story run as smoothly as possible, have one or two main events that happens in each part because each part of a sm au is far shorter than a written fic.

My second biggest piece of advice is don't try to make things happen to quickly, I see a lot of sm au's that are only like 10 parts and that is not enough time to make a story's length feel natural, it feels cramped and like everything is happening all at once. (I've read some short ones that I still enjoy but I prefer one's that are 25+ parts)

And lastly, if you have android test out a bunch of the fake social apps on the app store and find which ones work for you. And if you're ios just get social dummy, that bitch has everything.

What is your idea of a perfect day?

I have two kinds of perfect days: 1) staying home for most of the day with nothing to do, cuddling with my dog just snacking and being hella lazy. 2) A partly cloudy, kinda warm/kinda chilly day at Disney World with hardly any crowds, and I get to go on all my favorite rides and eat at my favorite restaurants.

You have no idea of how long I laughed whilethinking of this question. Now, picture this: if there’s no signal and they don’tfind people in a few miles ahead, they’ll return from where they came—the problemis that Jacob’s truck runs out of gasoline halfway in the road. Leslie is low-keyworried about what will they do next, but Jacob insists to return on foot tothe last place they saw on their way. They carry with them the items that’d bemore useful in case they don’t reach that place before sunset, so he’s not preciselyconcerned about this miscalculation (a little annoyed, yes, but that’s all).

42. Whendo they have their first child?

Three years after the war ended!

47. Howdo they spend an average day together?

Part of the day is spent outside—they both areoutdoors type of people after all. I imagine they’d walk the forest trails nearthe Grünewald house, go fishing (they end up catching nothing because they’d betrying to push the other into the lake) aside from Jacob helping Leslie withthe farm. She’d go with him to chop wood from the nearest trees and watchattentively as he works with it (a headcanon of mine is that Jacob is veryadept at woodworking btw). Otherwise they’d be inside their home: Jacob triesto help Leslie to cook, except she doesn’t let him—she remembers all too wellhis infamous mac and cheese and prefers to not to repeat the experience—so hejust sits on a chair while Leslie gives him a taste of whatever she’s cookingat that moment.

[In other words: they spend the day helping eachother and enjoying some quality time together.]
