I love how Bulkhead has patiently assumed the role of "I must physically hold back the Cee Bee Siblings whenever their rage overcomes them"
They're mad for such good reasons, too.... If Bulkhead hadn't been there to assist...bad, bad things would have gone down on both accounts.
Bonus: Ratchet
Look at Bulkhead being a physical barrier between Ratchet, who's furious, and Optimus, whom Ratchet is furiously confronting, while also stepping in front of Arcee in particular, keeping her a good distance away from any wayward punches that might be thrown.
Good job, Bulk. He's very patient, very collected. I wonder how many fights he had to break up between the Wreckers. He's definitely practiced.
All but one Vehicon trooper remains standing when Starscream turns to Soundwave and tells him they need to hurry. They both know mere Vehicons are no match for the Wrecker. Like Bulkhead says, “This is Wheeljack we’re talkin’ about.”
By the time the Autobots show up, not only has Wheeljack been subdued and removed from the scene, but Makeshift is in position too.
That was one very quick switch.
No one else besides Soundwave could have ambushed and subdued Wheeljack so quickly before the Autobots arrived.
This makes their confrontation in “Triage” more of a rematch:
First, Wheeljack goes against Ratchet’s wishes and wastes valuable time to chase and shoot down Laserbeak. Then, without hesitation, he goes after Soundwave alone. Wheeljack is petty; he’s not one to pass up a chance to get even with an enemy.
I know this will probably turn out angsty but was Em on the Nemesis when Deadlock happened?
Like did she see both her parents (presumably) die?
Did she get captured afterward? Did anyone figure out who her parents were?
I know I’m rambling in the askbox but ‘Em has consumed both my brain and heart and also I love your art :)
Ohohohoho
OHOHOHOHO
Deadlock you say?? :)
Yeah <3 she was
Requiem was orphaned that day. And the Autobots DEFINITELY found her.
I’m not sure if she ever encountered them prior to Deadlock, but it’s pretty evident who she’s related to just by looking at her for a few seconds 😭 predominately silver color scheme? A faceplate framed by blade shaped helm bits? The pronged crest and copious amount of purple biolights??
Yeah gee I have no idea who she’s the spawn of /j
Okay but like,, I have an old rough comic of her searching for Soundwave on the Bridge shortly after Megatron’s death (and then breaking down because she’s pretty much just a terrified little kid) in a notebook somewhere :,)
After that she likely hid away onboard the Bridge somewhere, like behind Soundwave’s computer console as she didn’t know what else to do. Maybe if she stayed put they’d come back?
They didn’t come back.
Or at least, to her knowledge.
You know who did? A VERY confused and startled Autobot who is now holding an equally terrified and hissy sparkling who’s trying their damnedest to claw them.
HELL, it could’ve been the kids that found Requiem which oouuhghh
shoutout to transformers prime for being the only transformers media i know of that consists of a character death and a funeral in the first seven fucking minutes of the first episode of the first season
Whatever happens, I'll never forget you ~
I am so pumped for "Car Trouble" by Owl City!!! You would not believe your eyes ! :D Hearing his lovely preview gave me so many ideas—I already know that that song is gonna fit Prime in Disguise Bumblebee so well. Can't wait till it releases on March 1st! 🎉
In the meantime, I went and revisited the original demo, "Floppy Fish." I've always loved it, but listening to it now, after "Car Trouble," made me instantly think the demo would make a perfect Cee Bee Siblings song. <3 I had to make this as fast as I could, so I put metal to the pedal. ✨
Enjoy my TFP Arcee & Bumblebee AMV! (Contains spoilers all through the end of Transformers: Prime...and beyond.)
thinking about… how jaron had to find out that his whole family was dead and pretend to not care. of course, he could blame his reaction on pure shock, but the careless Avenian orphan he was pretending to be could not possibly have displayed the amount of grief he was feeling.
and that’s why the dungeon scene is one of my favorites in the whole book, because it’s the first time he allows himself to truly grieve for his family. it’s such a rare moment of vulnerability for him and he deserved that time to mourn!! (and also Mott was there so instant favorite)
The level of trust between Team Prime is so good...not only is Arcee totally cool with Bulkhead doing this at all, but also, here, she's the one who suggests this strategy; and Bulkhead responds so quickly—with nary a word—that you know this isn't the first time they've tried this.
Raaaggraggh losing g my mind over the idea of the autobots being so distraught and already grieving the loss of their the kids if they're able to revive Cybertron that they already plan on taking Jack, Miko, and Raf with them,,
I always appreciate that this series, among others, does not completely sanitize the story and allow children and younger audiences an age-appropriate way to experience stories of war, death, loss, grief etc. through their characters. Just in the two first episodes alone, Arcee loses the one closest to her and sees him mangled and zombified, and she acts accordingly in a very real way. The rest of the show sticks to that while still allowing for humor and fun in-between the serious parts.
I don’t really have a grand statement, I’m just glad such a series exists. It means a lot to me :)
Yes! This is one of my favorite things about Prime.
There is no other TF show that does such a good job of conveying some of the darker aspects of life to its young target audience.
I’m partial to grittier, transgressive fiction with layers and connections galore, and while Prime is no IDW, its essence—its spark—continues to pull me back into the story again and again.
I’m still waiting for the day when we get another show that even comes close to Prime. It’s a tragedy that the Aligned Continuity was choked out by the various issues that arose during production; they really had something good going.
All of my favorite characters either a. Have a magic power that harms them (3 characters) or b. Do unethical human* experimentation on themselves involving a dubious colorful fluid and terrible consequences (2 characters). What does that say about me?
