this is story stuff idk if people care about but i wanna write it down, the 4 lore
i said in an earlier post that i view murch and 4 as close friends. they were both tweens at the start of splatoon 2 and pretty much grew up together as 4 moved to inkopolis square.
4 is a very stubborn and strong willed inkling, so murch’s assholish childhood demeanor wasnt a deterrent to him but only more reason to interact with the urchin. he was gonna befriend the little shit or die trying.
4 was raised by his parents to believe any second he wasnt active was a second his life was being wasted. it was never on purpose but thats how his childhood home was. this made 4 absolutely despise boredom and now that he was off on his own at the crisp age of 13, he had to find things to occupy himself with other than school.
this included clam blitz. in his teens he became closer and closer with murch as the urchin was his go-to for gear modification. murch back then seemed unenthusiastic but was truly thrilled to work with a really good fuckin ranked player.
4 called murch ‘shortie’ endearingly all the way until the present even after murch had outgrown him
long story short, theyre close buddies
everyone seemed to forget about 4. the squidbeak splatoon and its associates assumed he wasnt in contact because he was so busy with college. the only person who realized the agent had completely gone missing was murch

Now, do I have enough confidence to proudly drum up something with a niche interest within the sims community before casting it into the void with a side blog that currently has no followers with little to NO idea on how this is supposed to work? No.
Am I gonna do it anyways? Yeah, sure okay. I don’t see why not.
SO: after playtesting the hair to make sure they wont NUKE MY LAPTOP due to higher poly counts, and it being my first time doing mesh converts, I’m here with a New Years/Early Birthday gift from me to you: Splatoon NPC hairs that AREN’T from the idol characters! (And I might do more soon. This save file I’m testing these files on needs a Murch...)
Spyke and Annie have always been amongst my personal favorites of the NPCs (aside from the fact I ship them together, I just really like Splatoon designs in general), So it’s a genuine shock that nobody really DOES Splatoon sims outside of the Idols and generic Inkfishes due to there not being much else outside those characters in terms of mesh rips.
That ends now. As god or whatever as my witness, 2023 WILL BE THE YEAR of expanding the Splatoon search term in the sims gallery.
So without any further delay: the goods.
Annie Hair | Mesh Conversion
Two versions: One With her hair accessory and Moe, one without.
Feminine | Teen-Elder
Links: x x (DropBox)
Spyke Hair | Mesh Conversion
Oddly fitting: experiences clipping through the shoulders with the default neck length. I recommend using this in conjunction with this neck height slider mod from luumiasims, as well as this eye slider mod by marsosims to make his eye juuuuuust a bit larger.
Masculine | Teen-Elder
Link: x (Dropbox)
Odds + Ends | Other CC
Annie Eyes: x (had to fix due to a CAS error I bumped into the following day, may run large)
Spyke Eyes (Vampires DLC required due to the tutorial I followed to add the subtle glow. May also run large): x  (same as the Annie Eyes, had to fix an error)
Annie Brows (face paint): x
NOTE: The hair converts are the only thing here that contains their original texture. The remaining textures are refined or just outright traced over in order to obtain a more polished look. Textures, Meshes, And Characters are all owned by Nintendo-- I’m just a silly beginner mod lady who brought them to the sims.

Another thing I’d like to see in Splatoon is younger Inkfish. They made a point of showing the development cycle of Inkfish in a sunken scroll yet we’ve never seen a pre-teen Inkfish in the game. Like, what if one of the main characters was an Inkfish who was a pre-teen, and them trying to prove themselves despite their age?
I think it would be fun to have one as a side character, like how Murch was in Splatoon 2. Just to see one outside of game art

Chance Fiddler
She/they
Fiddler Crab humanoid
Teen-Young Adult (or same age as Murch)
Graffiti artist of Splatsville
She's a childhood friend of Murch that customizes clothing items. She makes art and custom shirts for a living. She has a crush on Murch since they were little. Mr. Coco is possibly her uncle (assuming he's an adult). She's a laid back skater girl, smokes sea weed on rare occasions and is Hispanic, which is why she speaks in Spanglish. Her eyes are rarely shown and hide under her Hermit Fab brand beanie.
