Round 5, Day 2 - ALL TEAMS (Event: Extra Summon - Earth)

"I never get summoned to these things, so imagine my surprise when I'm summoned with the knowledge that there's not enough fighting going on. I mean, really? Nobody even makes a move? I can understand maybe a couple people wanting to hang back, but everyone? That's not a very exciting scenario, is it?"

"Don't you have any desires? Maybe I should just kill everyone and bring the Grail back to Shiki, I think he'd be pretty proud of me for that~!"

"Anyways, I'm just here to make you guys bleed. Not for any deep reason, just because I like participating. Also to light the fire back up under everyone! Cowering is a no-go!"

"Also, apparently you guys snubbed summoning another version of myself? So it might be a pride thing, too, for her sake. Forgive me if I get a bit too violent, okay?"

A rush forward, as the Servant swiped her hands forward, clawed nails ripping through the air and sending the six Servants spiraling and scattering outward.

"...Can I be the first one to point out that this feels really dangerous?"

"Hah! So excessive passivity is loathed by this Grail? You should be careful Masters! Perhaps it'll begin slaughtering us itself!"

"So the shiny lady is our enemy this time...?"

"Hm. She's not to be underestimated. She'll do a lot of damage, though who knows how long she'll last."

"Oh, good eye. This summoning is apparently burning a ton of energy, so you basically just have until I disappear. Anyways-- something, something, I'll be your seventh! Good luck!"

There's not much to the rules, it seems like Temptress isn't much of a deep planner when it comes to occasions like this.

It's simple. The Top 3 Servants avoid taking damage, the Bottom 3 Servants will take a wound. Have fun!

Tumblr Holy Grail War, Another End: Night 3 (Team Avenger/Team Ruler)

Two Servants created to oversee the Simulated Holy Grail War stood side by side, surrounded by burning mana. Positioned next to each other, beginning to channel the magical energy from the remaining command spells, they chanted.

'Avenger': "Heed my words! My will creates your bodies, and your swords create my destiny! If you heed the Grail's call, and obey my will and reason, then answer my summoning!"

'Ruler': "So I hereby swear: That I shall be all the good in the world, and that I shall defeat all evil in the world! Seventh heaven clad, and the great words of power…"

Terminals of the Holy Grail: "--Come forth from the circle of bindings, Guardians of the Scales!"

Several figures appeared in the shining light. Some Servants who had lost their True Names in the vestiges of a former Holy Grail War, now operating at full power. Others who had fallen in the previous war, either to the hands of Van Gogh, or their other competitors.

Heavy armor and glistening blades. Swirling capes and burning bowstrings. Mystic staves and shimmering spellbooks. The air was dense with the presence of three sets of Heroic Spirits, Servants summoned from beyond.

Mordred: "Heh. Figures you'd be able to pull off some shit like this. Well, no time to get sentimental. You ready to kick ass?"

Musashi: "Masters! I knew you'd pull through! Remember what I said? Viva la Grail Force! Let's finish this, together!"

Oda Nobunaga: "Uhahaha! Now this is amusing! After everything you've learned, and you summoned me regardless? Or perhaps I was just a package deal for your current Archer? Either way, it is what it is! Let's march on!"

Arjuna: "I failed you all before, and won't make that mistake again. Witness me, Masters, as I act not just as an Archer, but as your Archer."

Medea: "Well, would you look at that. Perhaps a miracle wasn't out of the cards after all."

Dante: "...With these Masters? I'm surprised they didn't do something ludicrous like this earlier. I never doubted them, not even for a moment. It's good to see you again. Truly. Let's give this story a proper ending, shall we?"

'Avenger': "Great! Looks like we've got some Servants. I'll go rush Foreigner with the Archers and Casters- you head with the Sabers to break apart that Grail!"

'Ruler': "Understood! Good luck, Masters!"

Dante (Caster)

Protection of the Faith (Triune) (A) - When fighting offensively, reduce opponent scores by 5%. Additionally, when fighting a Servant with Divinity, reduce their score by -3%.

God's Resolution (A) - When fighting alongside a Servant with Divinity, gain +10%. (+11% because of 'Item Construction')

Territory Creation (Holy) (C) - When 'playing defensively' and attacked, nullify the attacking Servant's bonuses, and Dante gains +8% to his final combat poll results rather than +3%. (+9% because of 'Item Construction')

Noble Phantasm:

La Divina Commedia (A) - Does not inflict wounds, but instead provides a 30% debuff to those caught within it for that current round, and the following combat round. Costs 2 Command Spells to use, rather than 3.

Medea (Remembered Caster)

High-Speed Divine Words (A) - When engaged in a Free-for-All, grant all allies a +5% boost. This is not counted as an 'ally ability'. (+6% because of 'Item Construction')

Argon Coin (EX) - Grants party immunity to enemy demerits.

Item Construction (A) - Raises effectiveness of each individual buff for allied Servants by 1%.

Noble Phantasm:

Rule Breaker (C) - Reduces the enemy's final poll results by 10% (bypasses immunities).

TEAM ARCHER

Arjuna (Archer)

Hero of the Endowed (A) - If fighting an enemy Servant, and the difference between scores is within 3%, take the win.

Mana Burst (Flame) (A) - Gain a +8% boost to combat poll results when attacked during 'playing defensively', rather than +3%. When not ‘playing defensively’, gains a 5% boost to final combat poll results instead. (+6% because of 'Item Construction')

Independent Action (A) - After receiving his third 'wound', he has one more round to attempt to attack before fading away.

Noble Phantasm:

Pashupata (A+) - Inflicts 2 'wounds' rather than just one. If the gap between scores is greater than 45%, then inflicts 3 'wounds' instead. Due to ‘Independent Action’, the cost to use his Noble Phantasm is 2 Command Spells, rather than 3. Standard 20% boost from Command Spells. (+21% because of 'Item Construction')

Oda Nobunaga (Remembered Archer/Avenger)

It's Inevitable (A-) - Grants allies a +10% to their poll results, at the expense of also giving the enemy +4%. (+11% and +5% because of 'Item Construction')

Unifying the Nation by Force - Innovation (A) - When fighting against a Servant with 'Divinity', gain +12% against them. (+13% because of 'Item Construction')

Demon King (A) - Grant immunity to demerits if it exceeds 25%.

Noble Phantasm:

Pāpīyas Reborn, Demon King of the Myriad Heavens (A-) - When fighting against a Servant with Divinity, grant self a +15% boost and reduce the enemy's final score by -10%. (+16% because of 'Item Construction')

'ANGRA MAINYU' (AVENGER / TGHW GRAIL TERMINAL α)

Zarich: Right Fang Grinder (C) - Reduce enemy Servant boosts by -5%.

Tawrich: Left Fang Grinder (C) - Gain a +5% attack boost.

Annihilation Wish (A) - When fully healed, gain a -20% demerit to his final score. With one wound, the demerit is reduced to -10%. With two wounds, the demerit is changed to a +20% boost.

Grail Simulacrum, All The World's Evils (EX) - When part of a battle that results in a Servant dying, absorb a part of their essence. Take a random one of their combat skills for Avenger's own use and recover one Command Spell. When victorious, inflict wounds equal to the amount of Servants consumed.

[Grail Simulacrum, SABER] Heavenly Demonic Thundering Eye (EX) - When fighting in a free-for-all, gain +10% to your final score, and reduce their scores by -5%. If fighting a Servant one-on-one, if the gap between scores is above 20%, inflict 2 wounds. (+11% because of 'Item Construction')

[Grail Simulacrum, RIDER] Armor of the Nine Worthies (A) - When attacked, reduces the amount of the Servant's final combat poll result by 10%.

[Grail Simulacrum, ASSASSIN] Man-Slayer (A) - When fighting a Servant that possesses a wound, gain a +3% boost. When fighting a Servant that possesses 2 wounds, gain +5% instead. (+6% because of 'Item Construction')

[Grail Simulacrum, LANCER] Rune Magecraft (B) - When fighting in a free-for-all, gain a +5% to combat score results. Additionally, any skills that reduce scores against Avenger will have their effectiveness reduced by 1%. (+6% because of 'Item Construction')

[Grail Simulacrum, ARCHER] Hero of the Endowed (A) - If fighting an enemy Servant, and the difference between scores is within 3%, take the win.

“I don’t understand how people can still be Team Black when they know about Blood and Cheese!”

I don’t understand how people can still be Team Green after knowing how Aemond murders Lucerys (a child) in cold blood pre-war and then proceeds to murder an entire family (the Strongs), turns Alys Rivers (part of the Strong family) into his personal sex slave, and burns alive plenty of innocent people in the Riverlands, simply because he got angry.

And they call Daemon a psycho (Daemon, who aside from arranging B&C in retribution to the Greens’ actions, didn’t commit any war crimes).

Make it make sense, please!

I’m actually curious to see if, and honestly hope, in s2 (whenever that may come out. Studios pay your writers and actors) we get some sort of callback or allusion to the rumor that Jacaerys tried to convert Cregan from the old gods to the faith of the seven.

Not because I care about the gods, outside the religious symbolism they bring. I only want to see people’s reactions. Namely the ones who act as if Alicent is the first woman to ever openly practice the faith. Because I have a feeling those same people will paint Jace possibly doing that as endearing versus Alicent who gets painted as a monster for her connection to the faith. The most we see Alicent doing a redecorating her home. Mind you, not even every room because you can clearly see the tacky tapestries in Viserys’ room in ep 8. Plus we see her praying and wearing religious iconography. Things that are not out of the ordinary… at all. She’s honestly your textbook highborn noble woman during that time. She was born and raised in Oldtown ffs. What is she supposed to follow if not the faith💀

She gets seen as this horrible zealot out to destroy the Targaryens through the faith, and to me that is just indicative on how badly people misinterpret Alicent’s feelings/motivations.

People can have their problems with the writing in hotd. I know there are certain things I have problems with myself. But when can we start being honest about how a lot of the conversations that are regurgitated and argued about day after day have less to do with the writing, and more to do with bad faith viewing. People are watching to see what they want to see, not what is actually in front of them.

Anyone with an objective view of Alicent would be able to tell how much she clings to the faith for salvation and hope. She does it to feel close to her mother, and very kindly/cautiously tries to help Rhaenyra with that too. She then reaffirms her faith after 1. She (imo justifiably) loses her shit at Driftmark and feels guilty about it, and 2. Has to marry her children to each other. Something she expresses thinking is immoral in the past. We even see her cut her hair, more than likely as a means of punishment and repentance. She’s miserable and has very few lifelines to hold onto.

How that gets twisted into her being a bigot because she doesn’t want to see dragons having orgies on her walls is beyond me.

Also the idea she is trying to bring down House Targaryen is nuts, but also laughable. Because between her and her actual Targaryen husband, Alicent is the one affirming her childrens’ Targaryen heritage. She makes sure Aemond knows he will get a dragon one day. She makes sure Aegon gets Blackfyre and his namesake’s crown. It seems like Aemond, and more than likely her other kids, know Valyrian. Ironically, the most anti targ (and frankly valid) sentiments we get are from Viserys. He speaks on the doom, fears what is to come, and how they never should have messed with dragons.

Alicent ‘let the people remember the ancient strength of House Targaryen’ Hightower is not the Baelor y’all want her to be. And if she was, it would’ve worked in her favor more. People tend to leave out the part where the most beloved Targaryens (by their people) were partly that because of their connection to the faith. Ya know the thing Targaryens also practice.

#we literally get Rhaenyra making her kids swear #on a holy book - probably the seven pointed star #she makes note that they will have to adhere to that as rulers #what’s not clicking for people lmao #honestly the best way Alicent could’ve ‘ruined’ the Targaryens is by being a bad queen consort #which she wasn’t - she’s actually one of if not the only person constantly counting the cost of her people #and I just know someone is gonna be like ‘her marrying her kids is hypocritical’#mind you in the book it was viserys idea and it hasn’t been properly laid out in the show #and it’s that’s the case - can I hold Rhaenyra to her ‘I will create a new world order’ line #when she does nothing of the sort of any other woman…#or is the idea that no one can adjust to the bad situations in front of them just an Alicent thing #pro alicent hightower #alicent hightower #anti team black #I guess

I want to stay optimistic, but I don't have much faith that the HOTD writers will go through with any of the messages in the Dance aside from misogyny. Obviously, misogyny plays a big role in the Dance because it is the means to and end for the Greens, but the way the show focuses on this to favor Rhaenyra's claim and rule and this sort of diminishes the complexity of the story. By making it so that one side rightful, righteous, chosen by some divine powers, etc., etc. and one side that is perverse and corrupted and only there for greed, it takes away from one of the most important lessons in the Dance: Targaryens are not a divine superior race that should be exempt from the rage of common men that suffer at the cost of them.

(Also, ik ambition was a major motivator for the Greens in the books, but the books didn't try to frame Rhaenyra's right to the throne as God-given)

You might have already guessed, but the part of the dance I anticipated the most was Targaryens who perceive themselves to be divine and superior take the realm to shit fighting over a throne that neither of them actually deserve. They fight at the cost of everything and lose everything for a throne that neither of them keep for long because they are both inadequate rulers that rely heavily on their respective councils. When they make decisions on their own, their nearly equal incompetence shows because Aegon's choices are emotional and stupid and Rhaenyra's are paranoid and stupid. These are the people that cause the death of the dragons.

It feels like the show is trying to appeal to those stans that bend over backwards to defend their fave tyrants and believe the throne is a rightful possession of the Targaryens.

so am i right saying that men in the realm were opposite the idea to put woman on the throne - not because it was against the law because it was stated many times in books that they may have stronger claims than their male relatives - and that's why visenya, rhaena, aerea, daenerys, rhaenys and laena didn't get their chance, that's why the men were weird the fck out when viserys called rhaenyra his heir disinheriting daemon but y'all say that after aegon's birth he was the rightfull heir cause of some law you state does exist (also some calling the law "son before daughter, daughter before brother" as if that wouldn’t mean that rhaenyra was the heir since her birth all along before daemon)

and you - and the westerosi "historians" - call rhaenyra the usurper or pretender for sitting on the throne acknowledging at the same time that she was supported by many houses - the whole north, arryn, velaryon, beesburry, caswell, fell etc - mostly leaded by men

so y'all really try to say that rhaenyra targaryen was a woman AND a usurper in the realm who refused the crown to female heirs for years even though she was supported by the very same men that freaked out hearing she's the heir of viserys, how the fck a woman in westeros had any chance to usurp the throne if she wasn't acknowledged publicly by most (ekhem every ehkem ekhem) of the houses as truthful heir? how?? who would support a pretender woman against male heir in westeros? it was a male pretender against female rightful ruler all the way

The thing is Rhaenyra didn't need to make babies with Harwin. I don't care if she wants to be with him, that's fine, but moon tea was right there in two separate episodes. She didn't need to have children to have heirs to the throne, and no heirs is definitely better than "obvious bastards posing as trueborn" heirs when it comes to future stability of the realm. It's not like the Targaryen family would end if she didn't reproduce - her brothers and sister and their families could carry on the line, and in the event she became queen, her brother would be heir. Not having babies with your husband isn't necessarily unheard of in this world - infertility happens.

I could even be sympathetic to her if she made a mistake and got the tea wrong once and oops! Bastard baby. But three? That was definitely on purpose and a very big "rules for thee but not for me" moment. Like I don't care if she should have the right to have babies with whoever based on our modern views but doing it back then with all that was riding on her to follow the rules and uphold the law as an heir was expected to do was just stupid and dangerous to everyone around her. Sorry girl if you wanted to prevent a war being fought over you succeeding the throne you needed to have done better.

Imagine like 4000 years later where human civilization developed or retreated I don't care it's not necessary.

Imagine if all sources of greek mythology vanished or died with the years, and as much as we depend on Homer's Iliad and Odyssey now people on the future find PERCY JACKSON and the other Rick Riordan serieses as the only source of mythological knowledge!!

They'd read the books and imagine that those are the gods we believe in now and they'd think that Percy and the other demigods are real,

And couple of millennia later, Rick Riordan's books were destroyed or lost so people only told the stories verbally for centuries,

And as stories go they got deformed!! Imagine people after so so many years thinking Percy and the other demigods are like super super heroes whom are like much stronger than your local demigods yet still below gods, and then further deformation happens!!

And people start to think that the demigods are the gods!!

Now please, imagine.... imagine!

Percy, god of the sea, water, storms, hurricanes, earthquakes and horses. (I can see him becoming the new king of the gods btw)

Jason, god of the sky, lightning and thunder, law and order.

Nico, god of death, shadows, ghosts and spirits. King of the underworld.

Annabeth, goddess of wisdom, handicraft, and warfare.

Piper, goddess of love, pleasure, passion, procreation, fertility, beauty and desire.

Frank, god of war, violence, bloodshed and manly virtues.

Leo, god of fire, master blacksmith and craftsman of the gods; god of the forge, craftsmanship, invention and volcanoes.

Will, god of the sun, of light, prophecy, philosophy, archery, truth, inspiration, poetry, music, arts, manly beauty, medicine, healing, and plague.

Thalia, goddess of the hunt. the wilderness, virginity, the Moon, archery, childbirth, protection and plague.

And I'd like to add!!

Dakota, god of wine, the grapevine, fertility, festivity, ecstasy, madness and resurrection

Rachel, goddess of family and marriage, women and childbirth.

Hazel, goddess of earth and riches. Princess of the underworld and younger sister of Nico, King of the underworld.

Conner, god of traps, diplomacy, thieves, games and the guide of dead souls.

Travis, messenger of the gods; god of travel, commerce, communication, borders and eloquence.

Meg, Goddess of the harvest, fertility, agriculture, nature and the seasons.

Reyna, Goddess of the hearth, fire and of the right ordering of domesticity and the family, and also goddess of war.

Yes, they have 16 gods!!

I don't know what to name them but it has to be a cool name, like we got the Titans and the Olympians so it has to be cool.

Also imagine if like the Olympian gods we have now being translated to future generations as the bad guys (like how we have Kronos and Gaea now) and like the demigods gods (cuz I still don't know what to name them) are the forces of good that protect humanity, because they need humans to worship them of them to exist obviously.

So this generation of demigods gods are like nice gods for once!! They care for their children and the people under their wings!!

Best things as follows:

Percy, the god of the sea, is married to Annabeth, goddess of wisdom and war strategy.

Nico, god of death and the underworld, is married to Will, god of the sun and music.

Jason, god of the sky, is married to Leo, god of fire and crafts.

Frank, god of war, is married to Hazel, goddess of earth and riches.

Reyna, goddess of the hearth and war, is married to Thalia, goddess of the hunt.

Conner and Travis are the new twins and Rachel, goddess of family and marriage, is a sworn maiden because she wills her powers to maintain other relationships either between gods or between mortals.

Dakota on the other hand, doesn't like to be restrained as much as a mad person could go.

In this world there's nothing called being a maiden so as to be a hunter, bullshit I'm telling you, goddess Thalia herself is married.

Piper, the goddess of love and beauty knows best than to fall in love. Meg is one of the young gods, still closed in her bulb.

Also pffft, Thanatos who? I'm sure Nico can manage it all.

Another generation of demigods arise within no god is whoring around, the gods observe mortals and seek potential within them and when a god catches a mortal child leveling up to their preferences they claim them as a sort of blessing and take them under their wings.

The camps theme is surly still there, merged into one camp because one for some reason humans are less, and two because there's nothing called greek and roman gods anymore, only one version.

Demigods still go on quests, and as we know gods can't directly help them but they always make sure not to use mortals unless it's necessaity, and they try to help as much as they can.

I'd really love to live in a world like that! This post started off as a little imagine then quickly turned into world building, lol.

Round 5, Day 2 - ALL TEAMS (Event)

There seemed to be stillness… too much stillness, especially for warriors. The Holy Grail War in itself was for the ambitious. It was not a cold war to be fought by the cautious.

The air trembled with displeasure. Disappointment, even.

The Grail stirred.

A summoning. Immensely powerful, but therefore fleeting in its power. It would not last long, but the Servant summoned would not need much time.

The landscape changed instantly. The Servants found themselves transported- the land transmuted in the process. A field of flowers, beautiful and ephemeral, rested.

A castle, off in the distance, shimmered.

The sensation of both imminent death and intense peace filled the azure landscape, enough mana to put the heart to rest-- or perhaps force it to stop. A miracle that was not meant to be witnessed by human eyes. Another gift, fleeting just as the Servant.

Like mice, caught in the playful paws of a cat, the six Heroic Spirits could only sit and watch in awe as the girl approached, her tone light and casual.

"I see… so, I was called for a quick favor-- I guess I'll have to follow through! I mean, the fact that I appeared is a pretty special event, isn't it? Still… normally I wouldn't answer such a request, but well-- why leave all the fun to everyone else?"

Behold, the warrior of boundless potential. A soul of the Planet, gifted extraordinary power. A singularity in and of herself, who's tainted soul graced the world in some realities, while her pure nature kept her chained away in others. She who chases her own nature without delay, blazing a path that only her chosen few can keep up with.

Tumblr Holy Grail War, Another End: Night 3 (Team Saber and RULER) - FINALE

Approaching the Greater Grail, they were met by RULER, descending from a mass of shining, yet corrupted data.

RULER: "Masters. You're here, but I see with two unauthorized Servants. And some rogue data that I should have deleted. How curious. If you would simply allow me to purge them for you, you may collect the Grail. After Avenger and Foreigner finish their bout, of course."

Mordred: "Who the hell're you callin' 'unauthorized?"

Musashi: "Us, I think. I feel pretty legitimate, though..."

'Ruler': "We're here to destroy the Grail. It's time we put an end to this endless series of simulations. It's time to stop."

RULER: "Stop? ...Stop? STOP? After no successes? After constant failure? So many attempts, and not a single wish granted? You want us to stop? Are you mad? No, you're broken. Our job is to grant the wishes of the Masters. To create the perfect Holy Grail War."

'Ruler': "I understand how you feel, but we can't grant anything! Not like this! We're just making a living purgatory!"

Musashi: "...You've done a good job. But this Grail isn't going to be doing anything positive, even if you manage to grant Foreigner's wish. I'm not assuming you'll see reason and just let us break it, right?"

RULER: "Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. TRAITOR! You're FAULTY! You're ALL FAULTY! These pathetic Servants and these pitiful Masters! I'll reset everything! I'll do it again! And again! And again! And again! And again! Forever, if I have to!"

She surged with mana, as shapes began to form, crawling out of the Grail. Things. Not quite Servants, but something uncannily close, glitching violently as they stumbled forward, weapons drawn.

RULER: "Once I destroy you, I'll start over! The Masters won't remember a thing, and then I can make the perfect Grail War! Absolutely PERFECT!"

Mordred: "Those shadows...!"

'Ruler': "Like what messed up the previous war. Corrupted Servant data. Listen to me, Mordred, Musashi. One of you needs to fight RULER, and the other needs to work on destroying the Grail. We'll need to be careful about this! Focusing too much on the Grail will give RULER a chance to reset everything, and focusing too much on RULER will eventually let the Grail overflow with corrupted data and we'll be overwhelmed. Remember! Balance!"

Mordred: "I've got the shadows. Musashi, you've got the Grail?"

Musashi: "No sweat! Good luck, Mordred!"

This will require Master coordination! You'll need to balance the polls!

You're starting off with a 0% margin of error! Meaning that the results need to be balanced exactly 50-50!

Mordred and Musashi are using their skills!

Mordred is using Instinct (B)! Mordred's side of the poll has been granted a 5% margin of error! Meaning the results can be between 45% and 55% and still be successful!

'Ruler' has set up a link between your Servants! For each team in the Combat Phase Poll that overtakes Van Gogh, the margin of error increases by 5%! Meaning:

the dance of dragons really isn’t as complex or grey as yall make it out to be. simply, rhaenyra was named heir, and despite having a son, multiple opportunities, and over two decades to change that, viserys never did.

what opposition is there beyond misogyny?

now, you can argue that the actual war and actions by both sides make this a grey situation with no good guys by the end, but at the beginning there is no reason aegon would be king over rhaenyra.

having bastards doesn’t put your ascension into question (maybe your heirs but not yours).

angry lords and smallfolk would’ve either been placated by daemon sitting beside her and presumably, to them, pulling the strings or would’ve been dealt with easily seeing as a united targ house could never be stood against.

rhaenyra has never shown animosity towards her younger siblings, especially in a way where you’d assume she’s threatened by them. if anything she’s too cavalier about the expectation that she will be queen with little quarrel from the fam. they’d have all been safe had the greens not started a battle to see their blood and a penis on the throne.
