#the cons of living in the bible belt#like i already think of every organized religion as a cult#thats so 'sanctity of life' of you#good to know youre cool with mass murder so long as its the enemies of your big guy in the sky#like idk how to tell you this but people tend to just be people#and jesus was brown but i guess you probably dont wanna think about that#its an entire can of worms that i dont have the mental power to sift through#i dont understand how some of the people over here can be so hoity toity on their high horses about their faith and race#then go on to hold such loyalty to a country that gives no shits about them#if theres a higher power i think it would be displeased#if i was the higher power id be pissed to have people killing other people in my name#in my eyes they constantly do their god a disservice#gaza#palestine#free gaza#im not saying that what ive got is even a good take#i admit im not the most well informed on most situations regarding this whole thing#BUT i think human life is important and special in of itself and that its wrong to take that life in most cases#after the Holocaust we said never again yet here we are doing it for the thousandth time#history does always repeat itself#this also isnt to say that youre a bad person if youre practicing some religion#you do you#religion and spirituality are separate for me and religion isn't really my cup of tea any more

Wait excuse me, no one has talked about the fact that in Sodom and Gomorrah, gay sex was used to threaten angels and that's why it got messy obv - hence why today's Christians use that as an excuse to call gay people abominations. BUUUUTTTT straight sex was also used solely for power??? Like sex *period* wasn't used for love at all back then. Gay sex was used for power and straight sex was used for procreation, often just as violently. So can we acknowledge that society was awful for that and focus on the fact that in todays day and age sex between all orientations should be consensual, peaceful, with love, and most importantly normal??? Sorry I just had that thought

#I always forget to do these when I'm actually FEELING joy!#usually it's when I'm sad and need to remember that I'm blessed despite what my emotions are saying#anyway there are so many I can think of rn!#started DSOM Bible classes yesterday and I am PUMPED also my profs are sweethearts all of them#and I'm in class with my dad and a bunch of other people I love dearly from my church#got to chat with Dad on the drive home and that was nice because we hadn't really gotten to in awhile#I could write paragraphs about the blessings of yesterday tbh#as for today I have homework to do :D#and I just had the loveliest cup of tea#(earl grey with honey vanilla cinnamon and milk in my best beloved mushroom mug)#also God is teaching me again that it's ok to ask people for help. my brain is so mean sometimes but where does my help come from?#that's right the maker of heaven and earth so the 3 lb lump in my head has to yield right of way methinks#I am thankful for all this and for all the people in my life who love so well and so persistently#and for God who loves me most and best and enough to teach me hard lessons

i just think it’s so silly to speculate on what a dead artist/writer would think of a present day artistic phenomenon because it implies that their practice existed in a vacuum and wasn’t informed by the age and location and technology of their own time...idk i know it’s not that deep but it just strikes me as a transparent way of making yourself seem more intelligent by pretending that you have any kind of intuition about a famous figure’s preferences or character, but also you don’t actually have to know anything because the scenario is purely speculative. cos no one can fact check you since it’s not like warhol and NFTs ever existed in the same timeline anyway. and they never will so what’s the point
