ashesandmint replied to your post: Have you noticed that in s2 Red tells Liz “that’s…
“it drives Liz absolutely bonkers, pushing her to use increasingly destructive methods to smash this wedge btw them” ^^^ this I wonder how much of her force is derived from her “need to know the truth of my past” and how much of it is “red keeps this thing away from me that’s not ALLOWED” i know both are in play here. But u always convince me it is her pathological obsession w/ him and w/ possessing his “secrets” so there’s nothing between them… Which is destructive but…hot af

S6b spoilers so far
In response to @crazymisscarly‘s post
1. We are going to be “totally unprepared for the rest of s6”. Thus spake Evan!
2. The old new couples (Barchie, Veggie, Jabitha, Tangs) are still on. Which is no surprise, as we pick up from 5x19.
3. There is a post of Jughead -in his Pop’s uniform- Tabitha and Pop at the Diner. Has Jughead resumed his old job to help out his girlfriend?
4. Jabitha are “still very much together”. They move in together “as a consequence from the PTSD from the explosion”. Don’t come at me: these are direct quotes from Cole (circa 6x9).
5. Bughead don’t have many interactions, at least not until 6x9 (see another of Cole’s interviews).
6. A time-loop plot is implied by Evan. Will there actually be one? Will it last more than 1 episode? Who knows?
7. Jughead, Betty and Archie suffer from “mysterious” / “arcane” sensory side-effects from the Dale/Vale explosions.
8. Jughead’s arcane side-effect seems to be hearing problems. Which seems quite natural after an explosion and not at all arcane but who am I to judge? Photos and dialogues seem to indicate that it comes and goes? Who knows? This plot will be explored in 6x6 and mainly in 6x7.
9. At one point, an ASL teacher appears.
10. At one point, something will happen with Jughead’s bike that will make Tabitha anxious.
11. Betty seems to be developing pyrokinesis?
12. Cheryl believes she’s responsible for said arcane effects (by unleashing Abigail’s curse). 10 bucks says she’s not.
13. The Ultimate Fight between Good and Evil teased in the Vale, will happen after all. This seems to be s6b’s immediate plot, as it’s what the writers are currently promoting. When this was supposed to be part of the Vale, they had teased couples choosing different sides. Current couples? Old couples? Who knows? Does it matter in the end? The fight will take place at the Diner. If they’d shot it during the Vale (as originally planned), it wouldn’t have lasted more than one episode (6x5). Will it last longer in the Dale? Who knows?
14. An audition tape has been posted by b*rchiedaily where there is mention of a Ghost Train. I don’t remember much. In any case, it’s supernatural and it has to do with taking souls. Maybe it’s connected to the Ultimate Fight. Maybe not.
15. Cheryl mentions the need for an exorcism. Is it:
a. typical Cheryl
b. related to Abigail’s curse
c. related to the Ghost Train
d. Bret coming back from beyond the veil
e. Jason trying to have some peace and quiet at last
You decide!
16. There have been mentions of the Vale coming back in some way. Is it the arcane side-effects? Is it the fight between Good and Evil? Is it something else altogether? Is it another plot being dropped? Who knows? Who cares?
17. Percival Pickens, a descendant of General Pickers is Riverdale’s new resident. He’s Hiram 2.0 charming and manipulative and Archie’s new nemesis, as he wants to turn Riverdale into a utopia while pursuing a dark agenda. This must be one of those “fresh” storylines that the writers most certainly did not recycle from previous seasons, no, sir, not at all.
18. There will be a boxing scene. I bet there’ll be singing too.
19. Penelope’s back! FINALLY! something interesting!
20. Hermione’s back. Probably for Hiram’s funeral, which takes place in 6x7.
21. Far less excitingly, TBL is also back. Will he wait for Archie&Co to finish their ultimate Good vs Evil battle or not? (He did wait for Betty to round up her Lonely Highway case after all ...) Who knows?
22. Betty cuts her hair. Or maybe it was just Lili.
23. Kevin grows a moustache. This will probably be Kevin’s whole plot line. I have no complaints.
24. Monica Posh might make an appearance or maybe it was just bts shenanigans.
25. I almost forgot: Archie and Glenn face off.
There’s a strong possibility all of the above happen within the first two episodes.
Some of the sources:
6x6 synopsis, Jabitha & Pop at the Diner: ultimate battle, Veggie: ultimate battle, time-loop, Percival Pickens, Hiram’s funeral, Monica Posh?,  effing boxing, TV Insider Sprouse interview, Decider Sprouse interview, CBR Sprouse interview, Decider’s Battle of Betty’s Beaus & Trailer
There are also: a photo with info for scenes (ASL teacher, Jabitha and the bike) and 2 audition tapes (Betty’s pyrokinesis, Ghost Train) but I have no links.
Feel free to add (and tag your spoilers)!

I'm starting s6 of The Shield.
Dear god, this show. That's how you fuck your characters up as a writer. That's how you make them do heinous things, and that's how you make the audience root for the most fucked up motherfucker who is a lead of your show.
The viewer knows he shouldn't care for that person, knows that person has done things which can't be forgiven, knows that person had it coming, and yet...
And yet you root for that motherfucker. You don't condone what he has done. You may partially agree with his moral code, but you know this guy deserves what he's got.
His flaws make him human.
And—this is the mark of a true genius writing for me—until they don't.
This tipping point is invisible. But when it's the time, you experience it on visceral level.
I'm in awe.
If only tbl writers had an ounce of the Shawn Ryan's talent.
I can only wonder what tbl characters would look like then. It would be a very different tbl, with no place for half-measures, shipbaiting, and subpar fanfiction tropes brought to life.

do you think keen and ressler will be officially together by the end of this season? or do you think maybe season 9 or end of the series all together? i feel like you have good instincts and predictions about stuff like this and the plot. So what do you think?
I appreciate that you think that, anon. Believe me, though, I’ve been wrong on plenty of things over the seasons.
Before they took this most recent turn and actually made Keenler canon, I was of the view that there were two likely potential outcomes to the series with respect to Liz and her love life. One was an ambiguous, “status quo” sort of ending where Liz is not romantically attached to anyone, she’s just living her life with Agnes etc.  The second was that they would actually bring her and Ressler together near the end of the series after some dramatic moment that caused them to finally admit their feelings and establish them as a canon couple with the potential for a longer term future together.  A second chance for both of them after having their lives upended by the death of their first loves.  I never really felt that we’d get canon Keenler on screen for very long in the series because of them being partners and having to work together and the fact I didn’t really see the writers wanting to bring in another long-term domestic storyline for Liz after jettisoning Tom.
And then the writers surprised me by bringing them together romantically much sooner than I expected and upended everything. But, it makes sense that they did it now with where the story has gone, and Liz on the run, because having taken that extra step with Ressler adds a whole new dynamic to their relationship.  There’s an established investment of feelings there now that before was only hinted at. It’s not just waking up and heading into work together for the day all boring and perfect like Saram.  Many Keenlers hoped for something like this back in S3 when Liz was on the run but in retrospect, it was too soon.  But they did it now because it adds something new to the drama of the hunt for Liz and to the dynamics of the relationships between Liz and Ressler, Ressler and Red etc. in ways that I hope we will see a great deal more of this season.
So where do we go from here? The feelings are there, the writers have taken the step, and no matter what bumps this season may bring, I feel like they are not going to backtrack on them now having taken 8 years to build them up slowly (and most especially these past couple of seasons since S6)  So I am now more confident that they will be together at least in the way they are now by the end of the series.
My perfect outcome to this season would be Liz returning to the fold having learned enough truth about Red to realize they should be on the same side and not enemies and have Liz, and Ressler and the rest of the Task Force working in conjunction with Red next season to finish whatever his mission is. Each fighting for their own better future in their own way.  But I wouldn’t go so far as to predict that wishful outcome because it feels like a “too good to be true” scenario and this is TBL, after all, and there are always curveballs.
Bottom line:  I remain absolutely confident in Keenler and in their relationship and in the fact they are each other’s second chance at love and family and all the things Red has promised Liz since the start of this series. I remain confident in a positive ending to the show for Liz because otherwise it will feel like Red’s efforts failed.  What that means for the end of THIS season as opposed to next?  Ask me again in May.  LOL.  In the meanwhile, expect drama and angst because that is the price of the ship being canon now vs in the final few episodes.

The Blacklist 8x04 Thoughts
i’m gonna begin with the NEGATIVES first because i like to end things on a high note:
- having to watch Liz reach a new low (shocking, i know) by manipulating and using Ressler, tarnishing a genuine friendship/partnership/sibling-ship through sex
- having to watch the most awkward sex scene in the world... what makes it awkward, you ask? well, the use of body doubles was way too obvious + liz’s dead eyes (lmaoooooo the bitch was ice cold) i mean cmon, i know the lights were off but at least try and be more convincing, girl
- liz impersonating a cartoon villain + liz trying to steal red’s associates literally made me laugh... ah what a joke :’) + i still genuinely don’t understand why liz is THIS fired up on getting “revenge” and killing red... like yes she has a right to be upset for red killing her bio mom in front of her but like... she knew kat for all of two seconds and liz has somehow forgotten all about kat using her and putting her daughter at risk and also conveniently forgetting about all the times RED WAS THERE FOR HER AND PROTECTED HER AND SAVED HER AND LOVED HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i really can’t get over this “character development”... like at least give us a believable explanation for this stupid stupid stupid arc????
- tptb dumbing red down to allow liz to outsmart him... ughhhhhh cmon guys:
1. it’s MARVIN FFS! MARVIN!!!!
2. even if marvin was a traitor, no way red would hand power over to Skip or Chip or whatever the fuck his name is JUST LIKE THAT ugh
3. red (the one we know and love) would NEVER fall for the dumb ass ruse - airline tickets to switzerland with marvin’s real name on it lmaoooooo my god even liz admitted how lame that scheme was
3. cringed when liz got all giddy on the jet... taunting red on the phone as if she’s some mastermind.... bitch please
*now, finally, for the POSITIVES*:
- i actually love the fact that liz and ress slept together bc
1. she was using sex to manipulate ressler
2. her dead eyes say more than anything i could
3. lol it’s like when samar and ress slept together... did anything come out of that? nope, nothing except Saram... aka ressler is just a tool the girl must use to find her way to her actual soulmate/endgame
3. tbh i see this as tptb killing keenler. i have literally zero worries about keenler being endgame. even aram thinks it’s a terrible idea lol “tell me it wasn’t at your apartment”
4. also park calling ress out for wanting to protect liz + park calling ress hot last ep = me thinking park has more of an actual chance with ress than liz does... which is fine by me
- *UNICORN* SOCKS!!!!!! (agnes saying they’re good luck + ress asking liz if she thinks unicorn socks will protect her from red) y’all remember the unicorn references in that one ep back in s6 (seriously can’t remember which ep it was but i think it was in s6) where i think brimley (possibly?) had some sort of UNICORN speech and at the end of the ep (possibly?) red and liz sit on a bench and watch agnes riding the carousel on not just a regular horse but a UNICORN??? ALSO THE SOCKS WERE R E D!!! coincidence?? I THINK NOT
- liz taking her and tom’s engagement ring + thinking fondly of tom + talking to agnes about tom aka her agnes’ “father” = BAIT!!!! tom is dead (DEAD, dead) and not going to return except through flashbacks. I swear to god, tptb are using all this tom reminiscing to set up for some sort of revelation later on (a revelation regarding red and liz ofc... #agnesgate)
- liz looking gorg tho
- red looking gorg too
- shoutout to red’s associates who are loyal AF + liz talking to marvin in the restaurant as if she’s some italian gangster lmao... “you write your ticket... 50/50... i could make you riDICulOUsly RicH” lol also liz telling him red’s not loyal lol says the girl who betrayed literally everyone in her life lollllll please bitch go to your room)
- is it just me or is agnes getting blonder (yes i know it’s a diff child actress, but tptb chose this actress for a reason... #agnesgate)
- red’s very... interesting facial expressions (annoyed? mad? upset? JEALOUS?) when aram and ressler barged into cooper’s office to say liz called + red goading/pissing on Donald bc he fucking knows they slept together lmaoooo loved when red did his squinty face + his tone/face when he says “i believe you do... that’s what worries me” when ress said he believes liz was telling the truth about marvin turning +++ i also think red was more hardcore with marvin bc he was coming right from cooper’s office aka after his little butt-in with ressler aka after he found out liz and ress slept together AND HE’S PISSED (even marvin says “you’re so puffed up with anger, you don’t see it”
- this whole Sick Red arc being pushed in front of our faces and screamed into our ears (red repeatedly talking about his numbered days, repeatedly referencing his will (and leaving everything to liz), showing us red coughing blood + his many pills) just reinforces my belief that Red WILL NOT DIE... this is just bait + set up for next arc or endgame aka red and liz and agnes eventually living happily ever after
- Dembe telling red and us what we all already know aka RED LOVES LIZ!!!! + red admitting he “didn’t have a plan” in a heartbroken voice/face bc he’s a fool in love
- as much as i hate liz antagonizing red, i do like that this evens their playing field a bit, making liz more... worthy? capable? of being a partner to red
- love how murderous red’s face was when he warned the russian dude he better fucking NOT hurt liz keen
* SIDE THOUGHTS * :
- i hope marvin stays loyal to red even after all the goat torture... you’re the GOAT, marvin
- i wish we could’ve seen red’s reaction to liz escaping with agnes (bc he must know that puts agnes *cough-hisdaughter-cough* in even more danger)
- i can’t wait to watch red kill Skip lol
- im sorta ignoring the whole red being N13 thing bc i give zero fucks to who red was (and the entire mythology of the show at this point)... i care about WHO HE IS... and that is a man who just LOVES ELIZABETH KEEN... literally nothing else matters to me
- i know pretty much everyone HATED this ep, but overall, i actually enjoyed it
*** END OF TBL 8x04 THOUGHTS***
this took me forever and a half to write + is not edited (clearly) so please ignore any spelling/grammar/disorganization/whatever

Do you have any Raymond & Dembe friendship/just Dembe headcanons? I just finished rewatching my favorite eps. and I am FULL of Raymond & Dembe fluffy/angsty Feels. I know he must have been TRAUMATIZED when this “strange man” swoops in to save him, do you have any ideas on what Raymond might have done afterwards to get Dembe to trust him?
Oof I feel like I havent talked about this show in a hot second.
First of all thank u for single handledly reviving my tbl obsession. I'm all in on the Red/Dembe friendship again, so if anyone wants more... literally dont hesitate to ask. Bc I have so much more to say.
RED RESCUES DEMBE HCS
• Red gave Dembe his sunglasses as they made their way back to base to get Dembe medical help, so he could have some semblance of privacy. Dembe still has that pair of shades in a lockbox somewhere.
• The culture shock was sometimes a little too much for Dembe and ever since the first time he voiced his feelings to Red, Raymond has never stopped trying to understand and incorporate South Sudanese culture into their lives.
• Because Red is a very physically affectionate person, he actively had to hold himself back those first couple months bc his first instinct to comfort a struggling Dembe was hugs. He knew Dembe was making progress and starting to feel safe when he started initiating shoulder/hand pats.
• Red sort of took initiative to make sure Dembe felt as safe as possible those first couple of months after saving him. He would take bites of his food first to show him it was safe, same with any drink. Checked rooms for him. Tried to avoid long periods of time apart because I just know Dembe had to work through some major abandonment issues.
• Dembe had nightmares for years after meeting Red. So, Red spent many nights growing his empire from Dembe's bedroom floor. He never really minded considering he didn't sleep much to begin with. Eventually he did invest in a desk and comfy chair (maybe even a futon) for Dembe's room. Telling him they were gifts for him, when in reality they were a gift for Raymond's aching back.
CURRENT HCS
• They are each other's only friend so I know they have a ton of inside jokes. They have whole conversations just by looking at each others eyes.
• Because they spend so much time together, they do have occassional fights. But I hc that they dont really argue and instead they just get EXTREMELY passive aggressive.
*Dembe leaves dirty coffee mug on counter*
"Oh i didnt know the dish washer was broken."
"Thank you for putting your feet up on the table Raymond. We wouldn't want the carpet getting dirty."
I wanted to see more of their reactions after Dembe left in S6 so...these are my hcs on that:
• We saw Dembe cry when they were talking, but we didnt see Red. I know Raymond cried as soon as he left the room and was alone. He emotionally shut down that entire period he was without Dembe. Wouldn't eat. Wouldn't sleep. He put on the typical Raymond Reddington front, but inside he was just tired.
I also kind of wish their reunion would have been more dramatic tbh because an arm pat??? Come on. Sooooo...
• The second Dembe saw Red he could tell how exhausted he was. And while he still felt his leaving was necessary, he felt really bad about it. He just made sure to double check that Raymond ate and slept properly.
• They totally had a deeper, more emotional conversation afterwards where they may or may not have cried together. Also Red went through a period after this where he was incredibly clingy and needed reassurance that they were still best friends and that they were okay.

If you're still taking questions on the ins and outs of the industry, I'd love to know your take on being able to read when it's okay to pitch in a writing room. I saw you mention that the Jo(h)ns told you they'd be open to hearing you pitch in S6. Do you know if that sort of verbalization/communication is normal?
Hi! Sorry it's taken me a minute to get to this ask. Yes, they gave me a formal invitation to pitch at the start of season 6, although I probably would have pitched them privately even without it -- at TBL, it's fairly standard for writer's assistants, script coordinators, and showrunner's assistants (so all the assistants except the PAs) to enter the pitching process in their second year. I don't think it's always that clear -- every room is truly different -- but I do think it's a good standard practice for showrunners to communicate that to their assistants. It helps both sides, I think, for it to be very clear what is and isn't expected in that regard, and not really fair for assistants to just guess if their pitches are wanted or not. So to answer your question -- it's normal, but there's no, like, showrunner oversight, so it just really depends on if it occurs to the showrunner to lay this out. I was lucky to work under the Johns, who have a lot of experience promoting assistants!

Do you have any theories on how Lizzington might start? Like an undercover mission that blurs a few lines or Lizzy getting overly jealous of someone Red’s dating? Maybe it’s just me, but I get the impression that IF something were to happen, it would be because a certain ray of light made the first move :P
Anon I don’t have many theories about anything much tbl related after all the shenanigans that have been pulled but BUT I know one thing for certain. If a move were to be made it most definitely would be made by the Ray of Light. Sort of a shock and awe maneuver that would leave the hideous fish reeling and powerless. I’d love to see it. I dream of it. I write fic about it. It’s my AU bliss.
It’s also something I’m not sure we’ll get in canon. Lizzy’s weird s6 bench convo with Red is just one more instance that lets me know the writers have firmly dadzoned Red. I hope I’m wrong. I’d love to be wrong. I’d love an ambiguous ending at this point so we’d all know they were together even tho the johns were too pathetic and ageist to go there on the show.
I think your ideas are splendid. Undercover missions, Red dating I mean the guy deserves a little fun and jealous Lizzy is so damn entertaining. We’ve had glimpses of that early on but I’m not sure we’ll swing back to that with the trajectory the show has taken. Your ideas make for very good fic tho and at least we have that. Cheers

Four episodes into this season and The Blacklist is already in a slump
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed getting these Aram-centric and Cooper-centric episodes back-to-back, but I sadly feel like it’s too little, too late. The show has punted these characters to the side for so long to focus on the Red/Liz drama, that now that we’re actually getting some character development out of them it’s like ????
I guess the Aram thing kind of made sense, since the big thing for him last season was losing Samar. So, as annoying as it was, I guess it made sense to see him starting to get over her and get a little adventure of his own, since Liz and Ressler have to do so much of the heavylifting when it comes to undercover work, etc.
But, the Cooper thing is just so hard to handle. I really liked his little bits of development in early Season 6, when Red was in prison, and Cooper was having to decide whether it was worth trying to save his life. That’s the kind of introspection that really worked to give him a personality and a character, given that he’s been shunted into the background so much since ... ever. Harry Lennix is so vastly underused on this show, and I really appreciate that he got a chance to shine in tonight’s “Kuwait,” but I feel like it’s a hack way to give him some character development. It was so out of the blue and so forced. Ugh.
Here’s maybe a good way to describe it:
Earlier today, I went to the grocery store to get a few things. Since it’s been getting colder, I’ve been making hot chocolate a lot lately, but I never buy milk, because I don’t really drink it. So, I use water, which isn’t as good for cocoa-making. When I went shopping I decided to get a half-gallon of milk, which -- as I said -- is unusual for me. It’s like “Oh, I have milk in the house now..... okay.” I have it so rarely, that when I do, it’s really an adjustment.
That’s what Cooper’s character development was tonight. We get it so rarely, that it’s kind of like “Okay.... what do I do with this???”
Again, I wish Lennix got more to work with than just bland nonsense most weeks, but this is not the best way to give Cooper character development.
Also, I gotta say that I saw the whole “Hutton is the Simoon” thing a mile away. The minute Hutton said “the Simoon” and Cooper said “He’s been an intel leak in the Middle East for years,” I swear I did a ‘look into the camera like I’m Jim on the Office’ maneuver, because that was super obvious.
The whole ‘Katarina as Liz’s neighbor’ thing continues to bug the eff out of me. It’d be great if we had a sense that the show will eventually go the ‘Liz knew it was KR all along route,’ but I think we all know that isn’t going to be the case. No hate toward Laila Robbins, who seems to be a great actress, but I do hate KR so much in the present-day appearances we’ve had from her so far. I enjoy the KR in the flashbacks infinitely more, but Robbins’ KR -- IDK what it is, but I can’t stand the character. I think it’s partly because she’s so disingenuous and is never sincere. The few times I’ve thought “Okay, maybe she’s not so bad” is whenever she’s talking to Liz about wanting to reach out to her daughter. THAT’s the only part that seems sincere, but even that appears to come and go. I felt like when KR first met Liz and Agnes in the hallway in 7x02 that she really didn’t care about them, and almost looked at them with contempt. But, who knows. I’m sure it’s all mega-complicated, and we’ll get some bullshit explanation as to why in the mid/season finale and/or premiere.
One last little bit of food-for-thought is that I’ve been rewatching Once Upon a Time recently, which is a show that I watched the pilot when it first aired in 2011, and basically watched Seasons 1-5 as they were airing. I fell off after the Season 5 finale, and never really watched Seasons 6 or 7. And, as I’ve been rewatching Season 1 and now Season 2 on Netflix, I’ve been going back and re-reading Lily Sparks’ reviews on TV.com, which I read as the episodes were first airing in 2011 onward.
And, I have to say that my viewing experience at the time the episodes first aired -- which Lily captures in her reviews -- is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO different than rewatching the series now. It’s partly because I already know where the show is going -- even if I don’t remember all the little plot points and small details from episode-to-episode. But it’s also because NOW I’m able to watch them 2 or 3 or 4 episodes at a time, in a single day, and watch another few episodes the next day or a few days later. I’m not having to wait for a new one every single week.
And, as I’ve learned from re-reading Lily’s reviews, that makes a HUGE difference. Lily often complains about how the show moves at a snail’s pace, and we have to wait forever to get little crumbs of backstory or revelation or how annoying it is that the characters continue to point to a bigger story arc that hasn’t been revealed to us, the audience, yet. (ie, plot coupons). And she often half-jokingly, half-serious says that nothing happens on the show outside of mid/season premieres and finales. (Sound familiar?)
I honestly wonder whether I would feel this way if five years from now, I started rewatching The Blacklist from the very beginning in 2-4 episode increments. Would I also feel that the show was dragging its knuckles and treading water in between finales and premieres? Or would watching more episodes in a single sitting and with shorter intervals in between help me overlook so many of the flaws I believe it has?
TBL, I think, is a show that seems to lend itself better to multiple episodes in a sitting. Whenever we had those back-to-back episodes in the latter half of S6 this winter, I thought that was a much more enjoyable watching experience than something like tonight’s eyeroll fest. If it was a show that was like Stranger Things, where Netflix dropped all the episodes at once, so people could watch it at their own pace, I think it would help us to see more of the good and less of the bad. But, because we have to wait an entire week in between episodes, sometimes we’re more prone to be disappointed than satisfied when that Friday’s episode is over and we have to wait ANOTHER week for the next one. In a manner of speaking, it feels like we’re living off breadcrumbs that we get a week at a time.
I have a friend who binge-watches the Blacklist whenever a new season is uploaded to Netflix, and while he is also frustrated with the show, he seems to less frustrated than I am with it. I feel like I’m constantly complaining about it between September/October and May, and he gets a three-week span in August or whatever where he’s like “Yeah, this show is really weird.”
In any case, it’s just food for thought. As much as I’d like to, I don’t think I can wait until August or whenever for S7 to be uploaded to Netflix. I’d tear my hair out wondering what’s been going on with the show, and plus, being on Tumblr is just asking for spoilers, even with blacklisting tags.
And, for the record, I really hope S7 is the last. I don’t want this show to get an eighth season (or if it does, maybe it could be an abbreviated 13-episode one). It’s already overstayed its welcome, I feel like it’s a vampire or some other monster -- draining the life-force out of me until I’m old and tired and don’t have the energy to invest in a stupid hour-long drama on network television anymore.
I mean, it really says a lot that -- earlier today -- I was more excited about next week’s Good Place episode than I was about tonight’s Blacklist one. My interest in this show is taking a sharp nose-dive, and “Kuwait” honestly didn’t help much with that. And, the promos for next week look equally snooze-worthy.
I guess I really just need to find something better to do with my Friday nights and then just watch the episodes on the NBC app later, since this show seems determined to slump only four episodes into the season.

At the end of S1, there is a big reveal about your character.
Right. What was tricky is we wanted people to watch for 13 episodes and not get it. So I literally never had a private moment where I’d say something to somebody and then walk off and I’d... have a moment, which is what humanizes. You’d pop in to me speaking and pop out because I was only supposed to be there from other people’s point of view or else the gag would be given away. So I’d watch it and sit there and go, “This is really good, or this is some of the worst acting I’ve ever done in my entire life.” It was a little unnerving but [S2]’s a lot more fun ‘cause you get to see behind the curtain.
