Only Crosshair could have let her go in that moment. Crosshair, who's learned not only to trust Omega but to respect her autonomy. Who knows what it means to be the cause of your loved one's pain for reasons outside of your control. Who's willing to risk everything to honor her wishes.
And only Omega could have convinced him to do it. Omega, the one person who never gave up on him. Who taught him that people can change for the better, even himself. The person for whom his hand doesn't shake when the shot really matters.

I was devastated when he failed to hit them with the tracker. It's not often that Star Wars shocks me, but I needed to let the credits roll as it sank in that he really missed.
It would have been so easy for the writers to give them the win here. For this to be the culmination of all their character growth this season. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad about it. This is fantastic. I have no idea what's going to happen next. The writers are making some brave choices this season, and I am so here for it.

Omega: Baby I'm so proud of you. She hung out with her girlies, and dealt with her greif? A win all around. "And it's my choice." Hell yeah girl! Work that agency! Also pookie took an ethics course and said "yeah attacking this whole town for lil ol me? Not happening.
Crosshair: WHY DID YOU LET HER GO? Your little quips can't save her. And then as a cherry on top you hit EVERY SHOT EXECPT THE ONE THAT COUNTS. Rip Crosshair, can't wait to watch your brothers kill you.
Hunter: We get it you're Rambo. (But honostly he never disappoints in an action scene, keep doing you Hunter) Also, congrats to all the Hunter girlies for wet hair hunter™.
Wrecker: Hun you got me so nervous. My life flashed before my eyes. I will always be a Wrecker Girlie and Omega defender. (im working overtime). But the lack of plot amour he has is insane. And his blowing up WITH THEIR HOME? Look Wrecker has always been a 'home' for the batch. And in that moment they *almost* lost everything they could rely on. I was holding my breath. Gave me flashbacks to to Dormé and Padme in AOTC.
Additional: Loving all of our characters coming back. (Phee ecspecially) Also Matt Lanter did some additional voices (have i just missed that he's still active in SWs besides Ani?) Those little white boy clones are back, they still shock me. And Omega's mugshot was a jumpscare.
Ok that's all. A lot of an episode.

Okay, let's just stop ignoring the elephant in the room.
I will never in my life believe that the way Tech's goggles are storywise taken out of the Marauder right before the destruction was done for nothing. I mean, yeah, that was beautiful and touching and all that, but I do NOT believe that with that being the case, they wouldn't play an important plot role later on.
They wouldn't hang that rifle on the wall for nothing. Nuh-uh.

tbb episodes 7 & 11 def seem to be lending further credence to the theory that wolffe is actually a marshal commander - from s3e11 the operative seems to control about as many commandos/stormtroopers as imperial-commander-crosshair, but ep 7 shows wolffe as Very Obviously In Command over the mystery clone (who probably did not get promoted in between episodes for failing a mission.)
