Pros: You see a lot of badass women who you’d die to be friends with

Cons: every other sentence is “Taxidermy is art”

You’ll see lots of beautiful animals while they walk you through the history and the present of taxidermy. It’s interesting but it gets kind of repetitive as they jump between people who all say some amalgamation of the same thing about why they do it.

The documentary is a classic style, jumping between different practitioners and historians as they discuss the trade.

Warning: I put the audience rating kinda low but there is piece where they show skinning animals and sewing the skin together.

I found a store in Etsy called “taxidermyanimal” that is advertising “Siberian coyotes”, though those are wolves, right? I’m guessing coyotes wouldn’t need cites etc paperwork unlike wolves so that’s why they’re trying to pass them as them?

All wild canids (including ranched canids like foxes and tanuki) have to be imported with the help of a customs broker since there's a ton of paperwork and fees that have to be filled out and paid to legally import them. So labeling them as "Siberian coyotes" doesn't help since coyotes also can't be imported or exported without those fees and paperwork lol. The ONLY exceptions are dog skulls and skeletons since they fall under the domestic animal parts and are therefore exempt.
