i am not a taskmaster blog but i AM autistic and a taskmaster fan and this post made me have some emotions earlier today and i am yet to see it shared on tumblr
#this is very special to me as one of the many ppl in the centre of the venn diagram of autistics and taskmaster enjoyers#i read it out to my mam and we had a rlly nice chat abt why we think the show resonates with autistic ppl#and considering this is the first series that my dad (autistic) wasn't able to finish watching it felt . rlly meaningful#bc taskmaster is one of the things he and i have always shared#my mam thinks the reason he and i bonded over it in a way she didn't join in with was that we both watched it in an autistic way#anygay . enough channel 4 themed grief#taskmaster#taskmaster series 14#fern brady#autistic joy

Random Tasks that Bug Me Part 3
Taskmaster UK Series 14 Episode 9
Snort, then blow a raspberry, then whistle, then repeat that sequence for one minute
Why did they make this a full task? There is barely any interesting content in this.
If you didn't know, this task was originally a tiebreaker but they aired it because of Fern's attempt.
The problem is that tiebreakers aren't meant to be full tasks. They're meant to be short montages to build tension before revealing the winner.
I think the tiebreaker turned real task in series 9 works a lot better (Lasso Alex) because it's not a conventional tiebreaker. I personally think that (with a few exceptions) you shouldn't be able to find a trick or figure out a tiebreaker. The one is series 9 worked because you could imagine it was a real task. Plus, they didn't tell us.
But this one is so boring because apart from Fern, everyone did decent with it. Also, they can't say anything funny because they're making the sounds.
If they really wanted to show Fern's attempt, the could have edited an episode so she was in a tie with someone. Or even better, post the tiebreakers on YouTube.

Finally managed to watch yesterday’s Taskmaster and i’m SO HAPPY that we’ve finally gotten a subjective solo task. I feel like it’s the first one this series and i was missing the creative, non-problem-solving tasks, plus the songs were bangers and Greg and Sarah got to band together to bash her ex and get her the 5 points. 1000/10 great task
