Trying to decide a Pathfinder character to work on and resisting the urge to go “They can all be built tho even if they don’t see play”. My current ideas:
-Tarmer the tailed Monkey Goblin who fled a demon worshipping home island and spent years alternating between serving on pirate and normal sailing ships. Eventually lead to him delivering a load to the Pathfinder HQ and being intrigued by it. Built as a cha focused Rogue (which is a valid style to build) but may look at making a Swashbuckler instead.
-Tarmer the Charhide Goblin. As the only one in his tribe who could spell both diplomat and diplomacy (that t is tricky) he was chosen as the tribe’s diplomat as they tried this whole “Engaging with other nations and tribes and not just attacking them “ thing. Also built as a cha focused Rogue with some language and charm related feats so he can really talk to anyone to charm or threaten them. Same name as above as they’re the same mechanical idea just different flavors.
-Kikz, a Kobold who is proud of his dragonic scales that mark him as more dragon than the average Kobold. A barbarian who uses the dragon instinct barbarian (and an optional flaw to fix Kobold’s natural Con flaw so he is just a Barbarian with like 20 health and not like 18) to really try to connect to his ancestors.
-Zigz, Kikz twin who is equally proud of being very draconic but was born with a twinge of magical ability so instead they’re a dragon bloodline Sorcerer and since both Sorcerer and Kobold push Charisma they’d be surprisingly charming when not talking about how dragons should rule Gorion, with Kobolds as their most favored followers of course.
-Korrik, a half orc Magus. Nobody in the hold he comes from is particularly trained in the magic that flows through his body and so he had to use what magic they did know (mostly primal and some divine opposed to his arcane) and the weapons training he got to form his own still rough style. This interchange of roughly trained magic and well trained combat lead to him kinda incidentally reinventing the Inexorable Iron hybrid study as a tough two hand wielder.
-A ranger I’m mostly undecided on besides use of animal companion and then beast master archetype to have a menagerie of animals to swap between.
-Some form of inventor, also super no real info thought on this one so unless inspo strikes hard before next meet up I’m not doing

Heads up 7 up tag game
Got tagged by @silvershears, thank you Pear! Here’s the last 7 lines I wrote from Vulture Magic...
Tarmer handed her the end of a rope before setting aside her staff, a layer of clothes, and reminding her “Head first, and follow the tug.”
She dove in. Watching Tarmer sink into the black water with nothing but a dim red glow was at once unsettling and enticing. So Siltsan gulped a deep lungful and dove after her.
Darkness, pure and liquid.
Annnnd I’m gonna tag @cenneidi for this. Give us an update cenn!! Watcha up to lately?

Another Vulture Magic snippet
I RUSHED HOME TO TYPE THIS DOWN BEFORE I FORGOT IT BECAUSE I HAD BEEN STRUGGLING WITH IT FOR SO LONG.
I LOVE IT WHEN THINGS JUST FINALLY COME TOGETHER SO WELL.
...........................................................................................................
Naki was staring at her again, in that intense looking-for-something way she stared at people nowadays.
Siltsan wasn’t sure how much more of it she could take from her sister before she snapped at her to stop, or just left the room entirely. The sun was out in full mid-day strength and she was tired. Her cup of cold tea was not enough to make her feel better. If Naki tried one of her pranks on her now...
She was rubbing her eyes, trying to wake herself when--
“What’s it like?”
Siltsan turned to her, surprised at the quiet tone of Naki’s voice. She would not have believed it was her without her sister standing right next to her. She’d been a lot of things lately, but soft-spoken had never been it...
“What?”
“What’s it like for you in the sun?” she clarified “I know Vultures don’t like being in the sun, but.. What makes it bad for you? Does it hurt? Or does it just make you tired?”
Thrown off-balance by this uncharacteristic behavior, Siltsan hesitated, but was also just...too tired to play games.
So she told her.
“It’s...heavy. Daylight is heavy, as if it has a weight only I can feel. The brightness and heat of it, it presses on me. Builds up a pressure over me like... You remember the last time we went swimming in the lake? The way the weight of the water pushed down on you when you go deep enough?...”
Naki nodded, her brown eyes never leaving Siltsan’s face.
“Whenever I’m up and around during the day, it feels as if the weight of the light is pressing down on me more and more, like going deeper and deeper into water, except...hotter. The air feels thick, thick with light and heat and pressure. Walking through the day feels like I’m walking through water with a constant current coming from above. Breathing is hard, moving is hard, and even my eyes feel as if...”
What words could describe it? The way even the air itself was opaque with light to her? How even the cup in her hand was hazy to her eyes, even as she stared straight at it now...
“My eyes feel as if they’re covered by a very sheer cloth, or a thin veil of...something pale. I can still see through it somewhat, but it just gets in the way of seeing anything properly. And I want to get it out of my eyes but I can’t. The sun keeps it over my eyes even when I find shade to hide in. It’s only at night that I can truly see clearly, as if my eyes are uncovered. Everything becomes dark and clear somehow, as if the veil over my eyes is finally gone. And...”
She does not notice Naki coming closer to her as she thinks back to the moment Tarmer had first arrived. How her eyes had been...
“...and the only time anything has ever been clear to me in the day... was when Tarmer Rong first arrived, and I saw her eyes for the first time...”
The shock of it, the sight of those black eyes...
“It was like...it was as if her eyes were holes in the world. Holes in the veil of light itself, as if she had cut into it and I could finally, in those two holes, see the world as it really was, unclouded by the brightness that made everything unbearably painful to look at. And I could have stared into them forever then, just for the relief it brought me to see something so untouched...uncovered. As if looking into them would...”
“Would what?” she vaguely heard Naki ask in a whisper. “What did you see?”
Holes in the world, revealing hidden spaces she never knew were there, but that she now longed to go to, to secret herself away into them and shed the trappings of the world around her that was so heavy, so hot, so unbearably bright...
“What did you see..?”
In those black eyes she had seen everything she had ever searched for, and nothing at all, because that is what she had always been looking for. Eternity. Infinity. Endless space and blackness without end, unburdened by the weight and tightness of the lit world. Silence and openness, a cool release and relief from everything, because there was nothing near there, nothing but an open space that was at once always there but unreachable, unless she knew how to find it, how to find the spaces inside and between things, like the distance between stars. There, but untouchable, because distance was not a touchable thing, it was something that was reached into...
Cold and space and silence and distant pinpricks making a shape. Night, night was everywhere around her, unsullied by clouds and ground and noise, nothing between her and true night, perfect black and pure points of white, all of them together floating in infinity, unfettered by anything, and nothing to see but that shape made by the points.
She let herself drift...
She floated aimlessly, unthinking, peaceful, until the shape of the points became compelling again. Aligned in a way that recalled something known. Became coherent. Became recognizable. Like a constellation, making a known pattern. The curve in the points having...a direction? A flow? The curve circling back to itself, making a form she knew that she knew...
Circular. Cylindrical. A defined space within, finite in the infinite...
A cup.
“WAKE UP!”
The world slammed back into place around Siltsan. Her room. The sun. Naki, next to her, shaking as if cold, her breath making visible vapor, with eyes wide with shock on her face.
And in Siltsan’s hand, a cup and its frozen contents slowly falling apart into dust.
