some messy ketches i did a bit ago of the version of my sona from Swapfell Facet with Stone and Jewel('s hand). my sona can shrink down to just under 5 inches (the last doodle is the most accurate to this), and these came from a conversation with Kins about how Stone and Jewel might react to that.
(Swapfell Facet, Stone and Jewel belong to @skelekins)

🌟 Capricious Suns’s Declassified AU+ Survival Guide 🌟
Tumblr media
My AUs
Vesselfell - A Papyrus-centric Underfell AU revolving around the curious case of W.D. Gaster’s most successful experiment - The Vessel. Papyrus becomes a vessel for a doorway into the void, which gradually begins causing problems for not just their timeline, but the multiverse as a whole.
There are currently three primary iterations of the main story; Canon, The Good Ending, and The Variable.
Heartfell - A lovecore inspired Underfell AU where the world may not be as lovely as it seems. Exploring many facets of love and it’s perception and how sometimes what we believe is love is actually just trauma.
Orangefell - A semi-skeleton brothers-centric Underfell AU that revolves around how different things may be if the brothers had taken a different path.
Invertedfell - An Underfell AU where the characters personalities (and primary color schemes) are inverted. This is not a swapped AU as the changes are personal to each individual character.
Neonfell - An Underfell AU with slight cyberpunk stylings. After the fallen human and Alphys mysteriously disappear before the human had completed their journey to King Asgore, the underground falls into a state of chaos, eventually breaking apart into two sides - the loyalists and the rebellion. Will they ever learn the truth? Will they ever be free? Or will they drive themselves to extinction before they get the chance?
Demonfell - An Underfell AU where the monsters are all different types of demons. There isn’t much of a plot so much as a world to explore with honestly, I just liked the concept and ran with it, though I may develop a more solid story one day…
Glitchedswap - An Underswap AU that takes place in a “glitched game”. The monsters are mostly unknowingly permanently trapped Underground, and try to make the best of their abysmal circumstances.
Sweetswap - An Underswap AU similar to Heartfell in that it’s aesthetics are shifted, only to more cute, soft, and sweet stylings (cutecore, if you will), while exploring the many pros and cons of a sometimes perhaps too optimistic outlook on life.
Psychictale(fell?) - A Psychonauts inspired AU where Frisk must help the monsters address their inner demons to reach the truth of not just the underground, but the very monsters themselves.
Undersell - Underfell, but with a comedic twist. The underground is a grungy city type place, and everyone’s got an angle. It’s up to Frisk and Flowey to guide them back to a better way of life. (generally more lighthearted in tone)
Tumblr media
AUs I have my own interpretation of
Swapfell (Metal) • Fellswap (Glass) • Swapfell (Red) • Mafiafell • Mafiaswap • Horrorfell • Horrorswap • Lovefell (previously Lustfell ) • MafiaLoveFell (previously MafiaLustFell)
Tumblr media
AUs I need to work more on
Mafiatale • Horrortale • Outertale • Outerfell • Outerswap
Tumblr media
Stories and Ideas
Glasses - Papyrus needs glasses. It really shouldn’t be this complicated.
7S - A monster and a human with good intentions form a plan that leads them on an unexpectedly difficult journey in an attempt to save monsterkind before losing themselves (and each other).
Tales of Divergence - A choose your own adventure type story about a collision within the multiverse that brings four neighboring timelines…together?
My Mother’s Eyes - An Underfell story about a strange accident that leads to Toriel raising Papyrus in the Ruins for most of his life.
Everything Stays - When a malfunction happens at the labs, Sans disappears without a trace. Alphys has to take the news to his family, only to find all that’s left is his kid brother. She doesn’t have much of a choice but to look after this increasingly strange child herself, with the eventual help of Undyne. They become quite the odd little family…but Papyrus never gives up hope of seeing his brother again. He knows it’s just a matter of time…
Asymmetrical - Accidents happen. But how could Gaster have anticipated this..?
A possible “full” Psychonauts Undertale crossover where Raz wakes up in a very very strange place with little memory of how he got there… (may attempt a comic of it some day)

Helllo!!! I’m loving your headcanons so far!!!
Do you have any general personalities descriptions for your boys yet?
a of all, bsdaifjkbfjkowp thank you!!! b of all, im sorry this took so long?? i rewrote it like 3 times & it still might change bc im indecisive. also it turned into a lil bit of a headcanon post. i hope its understandable?
once again i am struck with the fact that the boys need nicknames. hmm.
UNDERTALE:
Sans: Guy who is deliberately and unabashedly Cringe. Overall, fairly laid back. However, he still prefers to maintain distance between himself and most people. It was already a natural facet of his personality but it was exacerbated by the Timeline Jank. People tend to forget he’s as smart as he is, they don’t think he’s stupid, they just mostly know that funnyman side of him. If you're a dick to Papyrus, he's gonna be a dick to you.
Papyrus: Things are so exciting and fascinating to him, even the most mundane things. Despite seeming completely oblivious to things that seem completely obvious, he's very smart and deceptively cunning. Even though he knows how people see him (a big loud child) and he doesn't get quite the reception his brother does, he knows he'll win them over one day! He tries to avoid thinking about how lonely he actually is. It’s fine. He knows Sans is dealing with something (he won’t tell him what) but he figures he doesn’t need much else on his plate.
UNDERSWAP:
Sans: In this post, I mentioned that he's kind of always naturally been the more outgoing brother and that he's taken on this much more outgoing and bubbly persona as a result of the impact the timelines have had on him. He's competitive in a more aggressive way (maybe not quite the right word to use but), by which I mean he's kind of a sore loser sometimes. Also? He's a huge flirt, he's pretty skilled in the art of flustering.
Papyrus: Also in this post, I said that he's pretty chill until the conversation turns to something he's passionate about, then he reaches True Papyrus Volume Levels (and Chaos Levels). He is fairly relaxed, yes, but part of it is compensating for how awkward he can be. He gets embarrassed really easy, even something as small as misunderstanding something that was said. However! He’s a pretty popular artist online! Though he uses a pseudonym, being recognized and talked to by a stranger in public is not something he would look forward to.
UNDERFELL:
Sans: He’s cruel and crude, that’s kind of his whole thing. He’s not really the best at keeping a hold on his temper (though there’s a few other factors at play there). Keeping up the whole tough guy persona is the number one priority thus he doesn’t deal much with his emotions or inner turmoil or any of that other crap. Like US!Sans, he’s a flirt, except his flirting is mostly crude comments and jokes. And yet, somehow it works? Guy who is a disaster. He’s oddly nostalgic, mostly about his relationship with Papyrus. He wishes he could have been a better brother, but it seems like their relationship is too far gone.
Papyrus: He also doesn’t have the best control of his temper but he has an image to keep, one of a cruel and cold Royal Guard Captain. He didn’t used to be like this, but it’s necessary for his survival. He’s still surprisingly empathetic, something that could never really be beat out of him. HUGE perfectionist nearly to the point of it being debilitating. He oscillates between hating how weak he is and desperately wanting to be able to be weak. While he acts prideful about his ‘work’ int the Royal Guard, he is genuinely prideful about things like his cooking. Often to the point of arrogance.
SWAPFELL:
Sans: He’s seen as very cold and calculating, well-spoken. But he also knows when and how to turn on the charm. That’s how he’s even made it this far in life, it’s vital to his survival. He can also be very prideful, particularly in his position as Queen Toriel’s right hand and in his ability to remain cool in high stress situations. He’s well aware of how overprotective he is with Papyrus, he’s terrified of how cruel the world is and terrified that he’s stunted him to the point of not being able to cope with it.
Papyrus: He’s deathly shy. If it were safe/a good idea to use his own brand of shortcuts to get out of situations, by god would he. He, like his non-Fell counterpart, thrives in the relative anonymity of being online. Past that barrier of shyness, he’s excitable and surprisingly jovial. He tries to find some reason to be at least content, he thinks it helps Sans worry less (even if it doesn’t really). He’s actually pretty mischievous, though only dares to pull pranks on his brother.
HORRORTALE:
Sans: Horribly cynical and jaded. He’s working on it, even if he doesn’t particularly want to sometimes. He’s not home, so to speak, most of the time. He’s easily frustrated by the gaps in his memory, then he forgets why he’s frustrated and gets even more upset. He’s naturally very wary of everyone else and again, very much prefers to keep distance between himself and most everyone he comes into contact with.
Papyrus: He definitely tries to hide everything behind a happy demeanor, he tries to fix everything for just about anyone (especially his brother) without any fuss and tries to make it seem like he’s totally fine. There’s also this sense of jadedness, he tries to curb it but sometimes it still slips out. He still tries to act like himself, like he’d been before the Famine, but it’s exhausting and he’ll eventually come to terms with the fact that he’s no longer the same.
HORRORSWAP:
Sans: His competitive nature has morphed more into him being more of an aggressive hothead (though not quite to the level of UF!Sans). He’s really self-conscious about his new stutter and bringing it up frustrates him the same way treating him like a child had before. He has terrible mood swings, he can ruin his own day over nothing and it kills him. He’s really trying to get better, but he still has a hard time being honest with people.
Papyrus: He’s gotten pretty cynical since the Famine, he puts part of the blame on himself (if only he'd just been brave for once), even though he knows there's not really a whole lot he could have done. He’s even quieter than he used to be, he’d prefer if he could just fade into the background. He hates how much he stands out in any crowd and tries to avoid going out at all costs. The only one who can get him out is Sans because at least they can ignore everyone else and concern themselves with each other.
HORRORFELL:
Sans: He’s...mean. Like. He tends to be a major jackass. He can’t help but think well, humans aren’t exactly gonna wanna know a monster, much less him. And hey! Might just help keep his newly expanded family safe! He ain’t complainin’! He’s really just bitter about how things have gone for him and his brother (and about how things will likely go in the future). For as many dark jokes he makes to Frisk and Aliza, he’d be the first one to come to their rescue, he’s just that kind of friend.
Papyrus: He’s fairly quiet these days, but don’t think he’s not going to find some way to give you some kind of attitude. He’s been putting a lot of work into taming his anger, which is no small task considering everything. He still has his moments, but he prides himself in being able to cool off and keep himself somewhat calm. He still hasn’t been able to do much about his perfectionism, in fact it’s gotten worse, but he’s trying. And he, like his brother, is extremely protective of his little family, and god help anyone who dares try anything.
A B-Bonus????
UF!Comic Papyrus: (he’s the only one with a nickname...lol) Reggie here struggles a lot with who he is as a person, is he more Sans? More Papyrus? An even 50/50? Or is he someone else entirely? He’s introspective and hyper aware of his mannerisms, particularity in the ones he deems too Sans-like or too Papyrus-like. He’s not exactly the nicest, partially as a mechanism to keep people away (it’s just...easier that way). Reggie keeps to himself most of the time. He’s not shy though, he’s more than willing to speak his mind, even if it comes out more crass than it was intended.

Headcanon, part II: UF Sans and SF Papyrus were midwives
Hey, who’s ready for some serious angst?
Warning: Topics include abortion and baby violence, so please ignore this if you think this will affect your overall mental state. This is tagged as #trigger warning abortion, and #trigger warning baby death. Proceed with this in mind!
My headcanon for the Fell!verses is that the birth rates are incredibly low for each AU, because not a lot of monsters could create a bond with one another, at least while they are Underground. They could not bring themselves to fully trust one another, so when they had partners, it was usually out of status or necessity rather than trust and love.
Monster procreation requires trust, love, and devotion in order to create monster offspring, all things that are lacking in the Fell!verses, so when a pair of monsters was expecting, everyone around was definitely shaken and shocked. The difference between the AUs is the way the pregnant monsters and the children are treated. Honor and prestige are less of a big deal than in the in Underfell AU,
Like the Underfell AU, children are considered precious and rare. Therefore, most monsters want their children to be protected, even though potentially, other monsters could kill the children for free, easy EXP, even if it isn’t a lot. However, it’s a lot more dangerous to kill a child in the Swapfell AU, because the Queen doesn’t take any prisoners when it comes to someone hurting a child. Despite her and Asgore’s roles and some personality facets being switched, Swapfell Toriel is still a protective, slightly mad mother, like the UF Toriel personality. However, their ideals on how to protect children are very different. The children of the Underground have to be protected at all costs when she loses her children, SF Asriel and SF Frisk. Both worlds, the Underground and the Surface are kill or be killed places, and what kind of world is that for children to live in?
Though children are cherished while alive and being, the soulings must die before one third of the pregnancy process while they are still developing. There is no reason to make the soulings endure such hardships when they first come into the world. Very few monsters could provide for the child once they are born, so they would likely dust anyways, from poverty, murder, or starvation. Queen Toriel made the decree that all soulings must be terminated in the first third of the impregnation process.
If the soulings were in eggs, the eggs were dropped into the lava of Hotland. If the babies are actually being impregnated inside a parent, such as with the dog monsters, then the “during the first third of the impregnation” is crucial, because then the souling can wither away without too much harm coming to the parent. Because it takes trust and devotion to form a souling, then there are two ways to go about it...either hitting the womb with great force to cause a rupture in magic or the non-carrying parent to neglect their partner until the souling can no longer grow or flourish. Soulings need two sources of magic to survive-- the carrier’s is a MUST, but the other source doesn’t have to be the other parent, just someone who the carrier trusts. Usually, that trusted monster is usually only their partner, so the souling withers away.
So where does this leave SF Papyrus? In short, after the law is made, he just goes along with it, just like everyone else. People stop coming to him for help with their pregnancies and deal with it the way the queen wants. SF Papyrus started being a midwife in the ways that were more similar to UF Sans, but he started it when he was much younger, still a judge, but he was three years out of stripes when he started. It was an accident, really. Babybones SF Sans wanted to know why a dog monster was on the ground, growling and panting. Seeing the glow near the bottom of her body, SF Papyrus gave his brother a toy to play with and used his jacket to help get the puppies out safely. If anything, it was insurance that he and his brother wouldn’t be killed later.
Until the queen made her decree about killing all soulings, his work was exactly the same as that of UF Sans. The family would tip him, he’d tell them all about the best way to prepare (based on his limited knowledge; UF Sans had more science to help out than SF Papyrus did) and how to proceed about protecting the soulings and the rest of the family. He was a judge too, who happened to have a few connections with the Royal Guard, so usually he would enlist their help in protecting the family. Most of the time, the Royal Guardsmen could refuse, but being the Judge wasn’t without its perks. After all, the Queen would never forgive the Royal Guard if she knew that they had used her own belongings as bait to catch an enemy of the Underground, right?
No one asks how he knows; he just does, so the Royal Guards do as he asks.

i gotta ask- what made you code the lilytale underfell sisters as latina? it seems strange considering none of the other skeletons speak spanish and underfell is the “evil”/“violent” au
i’ll be honest, i’ve never interpreted underfell as an ‘evil’ AU. it’s actually pretty exhausting to me to see it done so without thought; i do think, however, it’s an AU where things turned dire enough to get that violent ‘kill or be killed’ creed… but i also think it’s an AU that can (and should) be explored broader than ‘everyone’s angry and desperate so they just murder and steal and are terrible because (mumbles).’
see, for the lilytale underfell sisters, their world may have been violent and hard in a lot of ways, but it also was a world that valued family connections deeply -
theirs was a world that may have come into circumstances that they’d kill or harm, but they do so to protect their loved ones;
a world that didn’t want to give humans a chance easily, but only after severe repeated tragedy and threat to their entire way of life forced them to adopt that outlook;
a world where resources are sometimes scarce, but you’ll still find built communities looking out for one another, where people like Crimson and Scarlet learned to speak loudly and boldly, and in doing so help provide cover for those who can’t;
a world where Crimson and her Charby (aka lilytale Grillby) had a setup where Crimson would slip her Charby’s grill leftovers and food no longer pretty enough to sell but good enough to eat to the orphaned kids around Snowdin on the DL where the kingdom couldn’t tax it;
a world where Scarlet earned her scars in a battle not for glory, but to protect her sister from Scarlet’s own Captain when the law caught up to her for abandoning her post in the Royal Lab.
i understand very well what you’re implying and trying to slide over the table; and i completely understand the concern. however, i do hope that you’ll give them a chance, give their backstories and characters to speak for themselves - i never interpret any characters as flat and without context. too, i value having the characters having a wider background than ‘safe white-coded generic american’; you’ll see this come out in other characters soon, as well. without spoiling much but to provide an example, you’ll find that the lilytale swapfell sisters have origins that connect to norse mythology and certain nordic traditions relating to that sort of thing (i am very excited for Reader’s first time with monster glögg - you’ll see).
point is, they’re more than one-dimensional interpretations of soundbytes and inflections, and it’s part of who they are. Skeleton Sisters and the Architect is a fluffy and shenanigans-filled wlw harem fic, yes, but what i love about storytelling is you absolutely can have something like that - and have it given all the more depth by providing their characters with precisely that depth. there’s going to fun times with them being alternate versions of one another, yet also holding entirely different traditions in some aspects - but all of them lively. they’ll clash sometimes over expectations, providing both a deeper background that shows the facets of their individuality and comedic/romantic relief.
i know there’s a hackles-up culture around anything that seems to venture away from extremely safe interpretations of characters, but i don’t think that’s fair to countless people and the depths people and their personal contexts can have. the lilytale underfell girls are more than any kind of stereotypes; they may have done ‘bad’ things, but that doesn’t make them bad people. too, the idea that serif & amber’s universes were inherently ‘more good’ than the others - it’s all part of the story.
i hope that you’ll give it a chance!

Hiya! I would like to see 48 for any tale-verse (non-fell) skeletons you feel worth addressing and 49 for any fell verse please and thank!
48. Is there anyone that they would willingly kill?
Papyrus - You know, Papyrus is probably the Tale-verse skeleton I think is most capable in a fight. Undyne herself says he’s strong enough to be in the guard, and I think he actually enjoys fighting—it’s fun and challenging both physically and mentally. What’s not to like? But at the same time, he’s the least likely to kill. Partly because he has the best control over his magic. If he doesn’t want someone dead, then he can actually incapacitate them without killing them—he’s unwilling to kill simply because he doesn’t have to. Which, honestly, is really friggin’ impressive. So, while he is the least likely to actually kill someone, I think he is the most likely to jump to his friends’ defense if they were being actively threatened.
Sans - Has proven that, if he really had no other option, he is willing to kill. Of course, by the time he gets to that point, it’s too little too late, but that’s neither here nor there.
Rus - He really is the least violent of my Tale-verse skeletons. (That’s part of the reason he did so badly while in Underfell, in Broken Bones.) Fighting just isn’t his thing. I do think that an honest and immediate threat to himself and his brothers’ lives would push him to kill, though. It becomes a question of whether his abilities could match his intent.
Blue - …this might be unpopular, but I think that Blue is probably the most willing of the Tale-verse skeletons to kill. I think he has Papyrus’ belief that everyone can change and that everyone can be a good person if they try…but I also think that he’s a lot more focused on helping or protecting the people he cares about—which is, honestly, the entire Underground. if a human were to come through the door to the Ruins, covered in monster dust, then Blue would do whatever was necessary to take them out. He’d do it without killing them, if possible, but if he was forced to, he would kill them—and, frankly, I don’t think he has Papyrus’ control over his magic. He can’t take a human down to 1HP and incapacitate them. Killing them would likely be his only option. Also, I think I just realized how confrontations with the fallen human go in Underswap. Thank you. I needed this information.
49. If [name] was put into ______ situation, they’d rather die than live to see it through.
Twist - Would rather die than hurt his brother or lose himself to his LV.
Razz - Would honestly rather die than betray his Queen. (I just want everyone to know that this facet of his personality makes me want to scream in frustration because Swapfell Toriel is so unrepentantly awful.)
Slim - Would die rather than betray his brother.
Edge - Would rather die than return to Muffet’s service or lose himself to his LV.
Red, Cash, and Blackberry - These guys are both resilient and morally flexible. I think the one thing that they’d be unwilling to do is kill someone they cared about, or passively allow them to die or be killed. That’s part of the reason Cash is so torn up in the ‘Patches and Radish’ series, and why all of them are willing to  go to some pretty extreme lengths to “protect” the people they care about in Broken Bones, “Worth without measure”, and A Matter of Trust.
And look at that. Cash and Blackberry actually have more in common than I think either of them would be willing to admit.

F.A.Q
GENERAL FAQ
So what's up with this blog?
This is @joliemariella's undertale specific sideblog! Here I reblog neat Undertale related content I've seen, post Undertale content of my own in the form of fanart and fanfics, and also answer asks for both myself and the main characters from any of my UT fics. Q is the most popular of course, but you can read more about him further down.
(Rest under the cut)
Where can we read your fanfics?
Over here on my Ao3 is generally the best bet! I do recommend following me here as well, though! Not only will I post when I update, but sometimes I'll also do sneak peeks, or even tumblr exclusive stuff!
Where can we see your fanart?
Well I have a gallery over on DA, but here on tumblr is a good place too. I tend to only post finished product over on DA, but if you check the jolie arts tag here on my tumblr, you can see my sketches and various silly drawings I don't post anywhere else.
Who all can we send in asks for?
Myself, obviously, but also any of the main characters from any of my fanfics! Just don't expect reaction images for all of them, lol. Any interactions you have with these characters (and the fact that they're answering asks at all) are not canon, but any information they give you IS. Unless they're lying, which some of them are more prone to than others, heh. I'll drop a hint that they're not being entirely truthful if that is the case, though.
The only exception here is my monstersona, Jo! If you're looking to send her an ask, please send it to @ask-sfhaven instead of here!
You have a Monstersona?
I do! You can see here here, or also check out my sister @nighttimepixels's and I's sideblog @swapfell-haven where we write journals and short stories for them as they live their lives in the Underground in the swapfell AU. The skelebros will be making a debut soon ;)
Are we allowed to send in... 'naughty' asks?
Have at it, man XD If it's TOO raunchy I might stick it under a cut just to save my followers who aren't super into explicit content.
I sent in an ask but you haven’t answered it, what’s up?!
My ask count for this blog tends to hover right around 100 no matter how many I answer, and I’m generally pretty good about doing at least a handful every day. That said, I will not answer every ask sent in. I definitely pare them down for the sake of my sanity. Sometimes they’re just silly and not really worth the time. Sometimes they’re boring and/or Q’s already received that exact question a bunch already. Other times they were only really pertinent in the wake of another ask that got answered, and if I wasn’t able to get to it in a timely manner then I’m not going to because the context is now lost. I’ll also sometimes save some asks for later because they just require a little more thought to answer than I’m up to putting into it at the moment. Also, if you send in several around the same time, then I’m not going to just sit and answer all yours in a row, I’ll spread them out over days or weeks.
Side note, questions about the actual mechanics of how Q or his world work are almost guaranteed to get answered eventually because that was kinda the entire point of opening asks for him in the first place, heh.
Do you take prompts, suggestions, or requests?
Nope! If you want to share your headcanons or something that's cool, and I might weigh in on them, but that's as far as I'll go.
Can we do fanart of Q (or any of your other AUs/Fics)?
I freaking love fanart okay, so yeah, have at it, man! Just make sure to tag me or send me a link and I’ll totally reblog it! If you don’t see me reblog it or at least comment on it within 24 hours try sending a link directly to me via chat because I probably just missed your tag or Tumblr straight up ate it.
Can we write fanfic about/involving Q (or any of your other AUs/Fics)?
Please do NOT do this. While I appreciate the gesture, fanfic of my fics/characters is not something that I enjoy receiving from strangers. There are a couple of people on my extremely short list of individuals I’m ok with writing Q or my other AUs, and trust me, I’ll have straight up told you if you’re on that list.
Q FAQ
Who the hell is this 'Q' and why is he such a goddamn troll?
Q is Quarantine Sans from my Undertale AU, Machinatale, which in turn is the foundation for my fanfic 'Skeleton ex Machina'. SeM is a sister fic to @tyranttortoise amazing fic, "Skeleton Squatters and the Landlady". The very brief backstory for him can be read here. As for why he's a troll, well, lets just say life and the happenings there in have left him a bit salty with a low tolerance for bullshit.
Who else is in this world of Q's?
Everyone that made an appearance in the Undertale game with the exception of Frisk and Chara (For the why of that, read here)! There are a total of 167 souls in Q's world.
Why only 167?
As far as he's been able to discover, that was the total number of characters and killable enemies within the original game. Unfortunately, whatever happened that gave them all life has not given them the ability to create life in turn, or age. It's a phenomenon that Q is investing a great deal of time in hopes of one day giving his people the ability to procreate, and their few existing children the ability to grow up, but it's a puzzle he's yet to crack.
Just how much control does Q have over his world?
It's nigh infinite as far as he can tell, beyond his inability to create new sentience. He's the only system admin so he's able to change anything about the system. There are facets of the citizens souls that he is not able to change, however, no matter how hard he tries. Papyrus still can't cook well, for one, no matter how many cooking programs he installs. Any of the main 'sprited' characters also have trouble maintaining any sort of shift in their appearance they adopt. Unless they pay close attention to it, the programming likes to shift back to their default appearance. Any of the citizens that came from 'random encounter enemies', on the other hand, are able to maintain such changes indefinitely.
Do the monsters in Q's world have souls?
They do! They're not exactly like regular monster souls, however, since they don't technically have magic in Q's world. Read his explanation on it here, or in chapter 5 of ‘Skeleton ex Machina’!
What happened to the seven human souls?
They still exist within Q's world! Read his explanation here.
What happened to the Amalgamates?
They also still exist! A few of them have actually been saved and returned to 'normal', though the bulk of them still exist as they appeared in game. You can read more about them in chapter 2 of ‘Skeleton ex Machina’.
Wait, so why does Q talk like he's already with the Landlady when answering some asks, and like he's still pursuing her in others?
Due to the nature of this blog, Q is answering most of them from the 'present', e.g. from whatever the latest point in ‘Skeleton ex Machina’ and ‘Skeleton Squatters and the Landlady’ is. Sometimes, however, depending on the ask, he's answering from the 'future', e.g. from after the end of Skeleton Squatters and the Landlady in the timeline where he's the one that ends up with the Landlady. (For those of you that don't know, Tyrant_Tortoise is planning to write an ending for each of the main skelebros where they're the one that ends up with Lady, Q included. That way all the readers wind up happy XD).
So who's Grim?
ONLY HIS BFF BRO. Grim was created by my sister, @nighttimepixels, and you can find out more about him over on @skeletonsgrim! He's the kinkiestsweetest skeleton you'll ever meet! He and Q meet in the 'future' after Q's already settled down with the Landlady and put a ring on it cuz he liked it so much and they quickly became best friends because Q is literally one of the only people on the entire planet who can actually see Grim. For all the particulars on THAT, check out @skeletonsgrim, lol. They're best bros and work together on crazy science projects in Q's private lab.
(If you guys can think of anything else particularly pertinent that should be added to this, drop a comment or ask and let me know!)

Swapfell Facet - Sans (gemStone)
Rough Concepts (with a Muffet ;A; cause I love her and need to set aside some time for her sometime. Shes about 15-20ft tall UwU)
Decided as Stone for his nickname.
Some info to go with his bro. Ive had a bit more trouble with him obviously. I have many notes on these nerds but Ill try to keep it briefish.
His armor is his royal guard kit. Because their world lacks in metals his armor is made from crystal, with the facets done in a way to deflect blows. This also results in his armor being extremely heavy.
Sans is highly leveled and is close to 10ft tall, more than double his brother's height. He's fiercely protective of Papyrus and basically has devoted his life to his brother's safety. He likes to brag about Papyrus but only to others in Snowdin. He tries not to let anyone know Papyrus exists past Waterfall for safety reasons.
His more purple outfit is a concept for when hes younger/at home. He joined up with Muffets crew and works second to her (he is also second in guard. He likes not being in top charge since it gives him certain freedoms). Despite working with the guard he still works with Muffet. Legally he's in charge over Snowdin, but realistically Muffet is.
Sans' magic is erratic and unweidly as a side effect of his high level and also for posturing. Its not uncommon for him to have sparks of magic around him. When he activates Papyrus' shortcut you know he's coming because it feels like lightning is about to strike.
Due to the excess magic/LV spikes he has to burn it off regularly. As it builds up inside him his body trembles more which frustrates him. He'll wear his gauntlets for the last week or so before he takes care of the problem, since the weight keeps his hands from trembling.
Has manic moments and when fighting others / hyped up he will drool excess magic.
He's less skilled with trap magic than his brother is but he's far better at gravity magic. He's developed his own style of traps that combine the two: areas of kneeling and repelling. Kneeling causes whats on the tin, you won't be able to stand due to the pressure until the trap is released. Repelling won't let you in and if you try hard enough you'll be expelled with the same force.
The green scarf was a concept for something Papyrus may have given to him after learning silkweaving from the spiders.
Tassels are a symbol of Muffet's crew.
:) thanks for reading
(ps I almost called him Indigo but theres a Swapfell Indigo and I thought that'd be confusing. For fun though: if he meets others he'd go by Indigo as a joke for the other colour names, but he chooses (gem)Stone to match his brother.

Have some copy pasta Gen Swapfell-Facet Lore from my notes app
Disclaimer: messy
Muffet - Snowdin tea and bakery owner. Close relationship with Skeles. Puts cayenne pepper in many versions foods - spicy sweets. Has a few (like 3) setup for spider checkers - a checkers game with an otcoganol board. Waffle-coffee house. Speciality is spider Waffles, Soft Boiled spider Eggs, and Spider coffee
Muffet is a very hairy spider/rancho with scales/hairs all over body like the fluff of a moth. Helps with insulation. Smaller spider monsters are primarily covered in fluff for extra insulation with only tips of legs visible. Spiders wear little uniforms - usually hats/ribbons/tassels
Diner is covered in trap magic - one of many reasons no one causes a lot of trouble - snowdin in general assumed to be covered
Unlike skelebros Muffet can completely hide her trap magic unless someone is looking for it. Or at the very least her anchors are extremely small/needs less.
Smaller spiders may also use trap magic -> mainly just related to their physical silk.
Silk is heavily used in wardrobe and general materials.
Muffet must be seated the majority of the time the diner is open due to outgrowing the building. She doesn’t need to move much to reach every corner of the diner.
Double doors allow Muffet to leave through front if needed but she prefers to use the basement exit that leads to an enlarged basement - big enough for her to move properly, with a separate door out the back of the diner.
Muffet does not often actually leave and the back door is usually locked tight and hidden behind trash and webs. Since she has space to move in her home below she doesn’t see a lot of reason to leave.
Enjoys cooking and making sweet confections with her kin. Finds Sans and Papyrus cute - seen Papyrus grow up. A little older than Sans.
Spider eggs served to help keep populations acceptable. Boiled in a dust bath -> turning the interior monster into a weird edible savory jelly-like creature that is excited to be eaten. They feel no pain and usually find weird entertainment from being eaten in pieces. Not offended if eaten head first.
Diner spiders may actually be at LV 2 -> spiders have their own leveling customs. Basement spiders LV 1 - part of why Muffet and Diner Spiders are partial to Paps and Sans
“Muffet’s”? Like Grillby’s?
Grillbys - bar and grill
muffets - cafe and diner
While being a diner doesn’t actually care how long anyone is there. Closes late opens early -> most of Muffets time is dedicated to business with closing hours uses for rest, self care, and baking for the next day.
Probably has early days and maybe takes a “Websday” off once a month or so. !!she would be big enough and strong enough to easily go to Hotland or the capital if she wanted fancier supplies. !! <- gives part of reason for being so dedicated to the diner. Maybe gets special stuff for her kin/herself. Also cares about residents of Snowdin in her own way.
Like the idea of some of the bigger spiders acting rough and having little spiked bats to emphasize her kind of hard-punk/street gang aesthetic
15' 3"
Alphys - captain of the guard, watches over Waterfall but mostly has attention elsewhere ruling by name alone. Has Stone generally look after it. Originally from Hotland, met Undyne while stationed in Waterfall. Ascends (playing with words dunno if like that) in genocide route. Maybe something Al or Alph <- not a lot of options even with Alf.
Absolute Alphys? Alphys Ascendant
Her gameplay is similiar to Undynes except instead of blocking the player has to shoot her attacks like a game of asteroids.
Undyne - Royal scientist spicy fish yandere-like/light. Drinks beer enjoys super violent manga. Mew Mew -> Bork Bork
Jewel has a rough relationship with Undyne. Initially they were friends but after Undyne met Alphys she started to gain more level. It once got away from her and Jewel had to shortcut away from her as she was undeterred by Sans protection due to her own relationship with Alphys. She moved to Hotland not long after; secretly regretting her actions and not trusting herself in Waterfall any longer.
Napstablook -> Retraton - RTT // Retraton Para -> translates into shared HP forcing use of consumables along with cursor that copy’s players movements // maybe Retrabot to play off being an automaton vs mettaton being robot // Retrabot Para
Retraton held in place/ can’t move legs. Instead commands show through others monsters/puppets/effects. Usually broadcasts tragedies. (stone in turn loves tragedies lmao)
Has Rounded mascot form - form that is held in place. Para is transformation - still held but with extending arms.
Retraton Para - has extra arms.
"Oh yes~" -> "Oh no :("
Previously Napstablook -> taken to Undyne when Alphys found her missing her home; neighbor of Undyne. Forced into robot when he kept trying to return home.
Songs are very sad and yearning. TV shows are A Lot but also uses a lot of effects because it’s not like there’s infinite monsters.
May not actively star is show frequently but instead use puppets || marionette puppets his cast and narrates -> sometimes puppets are real monsters Retraton has some sort of relationship with surrounding monsters hinting at his Para form.
Para - kills Undyne before protag can activating Para form. Para uses Undynes soul. Might kill surrounding monsters / connected monsters as well.
Retraton - no use of legs - part of why puppets. Maybe needs to remain charged or frequently and feels more comfortable plugged in.
Arms > legs.
Box Form -> literally just a box with arms - no wheel. Has to drag himself or walk with his arms. Maybe has a hover butt? Or a skateboard. Or has lots of little legs. Roomba.
Mettaton(MTT)- Hapstablook
Instead of lie on the floor feeling like garbage they sit on the roof and consider love.
Gaster and Riverperson -
Stay in their respective posts however Gaster speaks in song and the Riverperson speaks in hands
Riverperson - gondola (gondoga) dog theme, speaks in hands, gondola above river because river water is too dangerous
Grillby - fire sale; father of fireflies literally flames with wings. Has a pet Fryfly - long fry-like fly. Instead of forcing player onto strings covers the field with hazards and fire. Have to switch and jump over between flames.
Pacified by firesauce (increases damage, possible burn damage, take one damage for spice) or Frenchfire (a firefly with an exploding baguette - covering the board around you in fire for one turn and burning any incoming attacks) or the purchase of either from his Hotland firesale.
Prices may be inverted to some extent -> Hotland Prices are cheaper but u need both items to pacify him. Ruins are achievable but ridiculously expensive. Only need one to immediately pacify him. Differentiated by name is Hotland Firesauce vs Old/Ruin Firesauce
All Dog references -> Cats (and vice versa)
Dog Squad -> Cat Squad
Annoying Dog -> Adorable Cat

Jewel - Swapfell Facet Papyrus
Reposting from SkelekinsOld. I've been wanting to talk about him and his bro for a bit. Fun Fact: before Moss & Mycelum I was going to have my first fic star Jewel (and may still do that one).
I don't have his bro done but Im going to post up his first concepts.
Quick Info:
LVL causes monsters to grow in his home. Jewel's refusal to hurt others resulted in him being extremely small compared to other monsters.
Him and his brother have a close relationship with Muffet referring to her as Big Sis. This relationship extends to Muffet's spiders who Jewel enjoys hanging out with since a lot of them are also unleveled.
Doesn't use magic attacks. Instead sets traps which is easier for him to do. Attack magic is physically painful for him. He gets around using blue-attacks with the notion that he is not trying to cause harm but instead stop his opponent so he can flee.
Right socket will bleed purple with magic use (even slight). Has a stained silk handkerchief gifted from Muffet to clean up.
Plays a kazoo like a troll
Due to stunted growth his magic is irregular, especially if he uses it. Crushed green magic helps him regulate it without his body tearing itself apart. He bonds with his bro through rolling his weekly supply.
All fire in the underground is controlled by Grillby (Magby). Lighters are too expensive so he uses Firefly Matches.
He's never been farther than Waterfall (general story takes place before Final Child. By time of Final Child he would be Judge and have met the Queen.)
Collared by his brother - Collar is multifunctional. Its locked with a jewel crafted directly from brother's magic. The collar allows his brother to maintain a perimeter of surveillance around Papyrus to keep him safe. Others can feel if they enter the "danger zone." If Papyrus needs him Sans can access Papyrus' shortcuts through the collar to shortcut to him. Sans cannot shortcut on his own.
Papyrus' is skilled with shortcuts. Its not uncommon for him to make many quick shortcuts in a panic or to scout distances. Panic would see him shortcuttng around a room/area like a bouncy ball to search for an escape. He still has to either see or know where he’s going -> so the mini shortcuts can help him to pre-scout and also scale things like trees. Watching him is probabaly aimiliar to seeing a skipping stone.
Their underground lacks in precious metals resulting in use of crystal instead. As a nod to Cash/Money; Jewels is named after their worlds currency - jewels. (I imagine gems shaped like different sided dice with a hole in the center to hang on a string. The different shapes would help those who can't see).
Jewel is inspired by KH_Swapfell and Cash/Money
