Pedro Pascal Character Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The softness of his shirt feels perfect against your sensitive skin and as you cuddle the fabric you fall deeper into the cocoon of his scent, surrounded by the warmth of your blankets and pillows.
The dainty string of fairy lights glows softly against the backdrop of darkness that filters in through the large windows but even with their light the stars in the sky shine more brightly, twinkling like diamonds.
You sigh and fight the heavy feel of your eyelids as they press closed. He should be home soon and you want to be awake. Want to see him. Want to feel him. You need him.
With the last lingering thoughts of his touch your breathing starts to even out but just before you succumb to sleep your body starts to thrum with awareness and you know he’s back.
You sit up and stretch just as he appears in the doorway, filling the space with his broad shoulders.
“Joel,” you whisper.
He walks toward you with even and purposeful steps, stopping just outside your nesting space. He smiles with admiration and love at what you’ve created and when his eyes meet yours you see it there and it fills your heart up.
“Darlin’,” he coos before he bends down and climbs in next to you, taking note of his shirt draped over your otherwise bare skin with a pleased hum.
You curl into his embrace and purr as he nuzzles your neck and inhales your scent. He rubs his nose along your jaw, following with butterfly kisses until he finds your lips and seals them with his.
When he pulls away your eyes are still closed and your lips are curved into a satisfied smile.
“Look at me darlin’.”
Your eyelids slowly flutter open and meet his gaze.
“Have you been takin’ care of yourself while I was gone?”
You nod. “Mm hm. Just like you told me.”
He gives you an approving smile and cradles your cheek in one large hand, brushing his thumb gently across your skin.
“That’s my good girl.”
You preen under his praise, your skin heating and tingles running down your spine.
He cradles you against his chest as his hands slide over your curves and his fingers slip under the hem of his shirt.
You burrow to him, kissing his neck and loving the feel of the scruffy hair lining his skin and humming as his scent envelopes you in a feeling of safety and love. With your head resting against his shoulder you look up into the night sky and follow the path of a shooting star.
“They’re so beautiful,” you whisper.
“Hm?” he murmurs and you turn your face to his. He’s staring. At you.
“The stars…they’re beautiful.”
His eyes never move from your face.
“Not as beautiful as you,” he says quietly.
“I missed you Joel.”
His fingertips graze the soft skin of your stomach before sliding lower and teasing your thigh.
Your arousal spikes the air and he growls low and deep.
“I know,” he groans as your sweet scent wafts up to his nose.
He pushes you down until you’re spread out beneath him and with gentle hands he lifts his shirt up and off your body.
“I can’t wait to devour you my sweet omega. It’s all I could think about.”
His dark eyes fall to your knees and he wedges his hand between them to spread you open. The heat of his skin matches yours as he skims his calloused fingers down the curve of your leg and his warm breath caresses your cheek.
“Mm…,” he hums. “Smell so good darlin.’ Sweet as sugar.”
Those long fingers move lower and brush through the slickness between your thighs. You shiver and squirm even at the lightest touch, clutching his thick wrist and urging him closer. When his lips ghost along the shell of your ear you whimper his name and arch your back, letting your legs fall open wider.
“You seem more sensitive than usual,” he murmurs, relishing the way you come alive beneath him.
“Missed you so much alpha. Need you. Please.”
His scent fills the space, strong and musky like the woods after a rain and you feel it everywhere. You thread your fingers through his dark curls as he rubs your noses together.
Your hands fumble to find the buttons of his shirt as you slide them along his chest but when his eyes meet yours you stop and heed the silent warning they hold.
“I’m going to give you what you need darlin.’ Everythin’ you need.”
Soft lips press to your neck, following the delicate curve before sweeping across your shoulder and leaving goosebumps all along your kissed skin.
His touch between your legs is still soft and teasing, making you shake with want.
“Please,” you beg.
A satisfied hum rumbles through his chest as he slips a single thick finger inside you, pumping it slowly in and out. Every stroke brings you closer to the edge and when your lips part and you plead for more he adds a second finger, stretching you just right.
“You’re dripping for me darlin’,” he growls. “I need to taste you.”
He moves lower and splays his free hand on your lower belly, pinning you down. The first sweep of his tongue is all it takes to have you choking on the scream in your throat.
Every lick and suck is deliberately torturous, sweet and languid, drawing out your bliss.
You chant his name and his silky hair slips through your fingers, gasping as the sensations become too much and you shatter apart.
He waits for your breathing to calm with tender kisses and soft licks then his hands move higher, his lips following until he’s cradling you protectively in his arms and whispering sweet praises in your ear.
You tilt your head back, stretching your throat out for the delicate nip of his teeth. He holds you down beneath him, your fingernails dancing over his taut skin as his muscles flex with his barely controlled restraint.
His nose skims along your skin then his lips soothe the spot on your neck where he previously nibbled before he does it all over again.
“Please alpha,” you whine, feeling a new wave of slickness coat your thighs.
He sinks his teeth into your throat and you let out a cry of pleasure, clinging to his shoulders and wrapping your legs around his waist.
His tongue slides over the bite and he rolls his hips, still fully clothed, and the friction between your thighs makes you purr in pleasure.
“You’re wearing too many clothes Joel.”
Your soft reprimand has him kissing you breathless and when he releases you for air he sits up and starts to unbutton his shirt.
With a gentle touch you stop the action. “Let me. Please?” you ask sweetly.
He relents and shifts so you can work your hands along the closed buttons, slowly revealing more of his warm skin.
“I love you,” he says just as your fingertips brush the fabric from his shoulders. “My omega. Mine. All mine.”
Your lips press to the spot over this heart, its beat steady and strong under your kiss. He wraps his hand around your wrist and lifts your fingers to his lips, pressing a kiss to the tip of each before guiding you to the button of his jeans.
“I love you too,” you whisper. “And I’m yours. All yours.”

Bangel fans, we want to hear from you! As we celebrate this year's IWRY Fic Marathon, we're getting to know each other through our Meet the Fandom series. Answer the questions here to join in.
What is your name?
Suz
Where do you hang out?
Tumblr on @buffy-targaryen and ao3 on buffytargaryen (I only have one fic posted so far but watch out)
[note from the mods: two fics now! make sure to check out Suz's marathon fic, Yours, Always]
Do you create any fan works?
I’ve only just started writing fanfic for this fandom and writing is my only talent.
Funniest Bangel/Buffyverse moment?
“I’m a funny guy 😐” will never not crack me up, especially after they have that really lovely honest and open conversation with each other.
What Buffyverse opinion would have you chased through the village with pitchforks?
I hate the retcon that Angel fell in love with Buffy when he saw her called. Did you see that sopping wet dishrag of a broken man in becoming part 1? What part of Angel looked like he was falling in love?? He was given hope for the first time in 100 years and that was it.
Share a headcanon you have about Bangel or the Buffyverse?
Bangel host holiday dinners every year and Angel and Dawn fight over who does the best decorations whilst Connor and Buffy gossip in the kitchen.
How would you have given Buffy and Angel their Happily Ever After?
Both of them are so tied to being heroes and champions, in my opinion they could only have a real happily ever after if either both of them were able to no longer be slayer/vampire, or Angel’s curse was no longer an issue so they could be together whilst still remaining what they are.
Last fic you read?
Wherever You Stray, I’ll Follow by @calenlily. A beautiful fic!
Slay, Lay, Obey - Faith, Dawn, Tara?
Slay: Dawn (sorry, Dawn, I never forgave you for Empty Places)
Lay: Faith
Obey: Tara
Fill in the quiz so the fandom can meet you!

One Year Writing!
One year ago today, at around 3am, running off of no sleep and one monster energy, I decided to open a google doc and start writing. I was in a reading slump and couldn’t find anything that interested me, so I wrote what I wanted to read myself. Today was the day my original OC Vex was created. Now, I wouldn’t post it for almost a month, not until the friend I sent every chapter to begged me to upload it, but eventually I did. And Satan, am I so happy that I listened to her. Over this last year I have made great friends, and talked with amazing readers through comments or on tumblr or Instagram. I never believed a year ago that this would be where I am now, but I couldn’t be happier about it. Thank you to all of my readers for reading this past year, and thank you to the friends I’ve made along the way. I love each and every one of you. I could never thank you enough 🖤♥️

Further Endless Heirs AU ideas (part 1)
Gonna tag @somebodyssherlock-heterodyne and @themirokai cuz you guys have been so fun to share this particular AU with :)
I toyed with turning this into a fic but I don't think i have the energy right now for two fics at once, and I wanted to share these ideas anyway so they didnt just sit rattling around gathering dust.
So I talked before about Daniel getting captured, and the adverse effects that would have on him and Wish due to their shared hearts
And here's the rough wider story I've built around it since then. Daniel, some time in his early thirties, (a little while after he and Wish have made contact with Destruction), wakes up one day in a strange twisting labyrinth, no idea how he got there, no idea how to get out, and worst off, apparently no connection with the Dreaming. Whenever he goes to sleep he doesn't dream, just wakes back up in the labyrinth in a new area.
He's stuck there for an unknown amount of time. He's immortal enough that he won't die of starvation but it's not pleasent, and he's entirely alone. He tries to keep up his strength and spirits, knowing his family must be looking for him, but each dsy that passes without rescue wears at him a little bit more, slowly breaking down his spirits--and worse, apparently his physical form as well. Wherever he is its doing something to him, making him go odd and fuzzy at the edges.
But finally, things change one day when he finally stumbles into what appears to be the heart of the Labyrinth, and meets a very scared and confused young teen named Suzanna Holland.
Tumblr media
Suz has no idea how she got here either, the last thing she remembers is getting sick and being taken to a hospital, and then she woke up here, wherever here is.
Tumblr media
After determining Suz, as she's called, isn't dangerous, the two bond as they try to find their way out of the Labyrinth, learning about eachother as there's nothing to do but talk.
Suz learns about Daniel and the Dreaming, and is hopeful that someone will come for him and so save her too. She doesn't have any family left that she knows of. Her mother had been part of a magical practitioners community that had gotten into some dark stuff, and Suz had left home to get away from it, and her mother hadn't bothered to try and come after her. She doesn't know who her father was and her mother hadn't gotten along with her own parents, so Suz doesn't know them either. But Daniel's family seems to care about him, surely they'll find him soon...
But the days go by, and no one comes, and Daniel starts to get worse and worse. Finally, he determines that their only chance is to try and see if maybe he can push through whatever is blocking his connection to the Dreaming, by joining his power with the little magic Suz might have, and see if he can get her to sleep and enter the Dreaming if he can't, and contact someone. So they try--and Suz disappears completely. Leaving Daniel all alone once more.
Tumblr media
Suz however, appears in the Dreaming, and the first perosn she meets is Matthew, who once he hears that Daniel hs sent her quickly takes her to Dream--who can tell instantly that Suz isn't in the Dreaming bodily, it's only her sleeping form that is here. Which means that her body is still somewhere out there, asleep.
Which freaks Suz out, as she was sure she was physically there with Daniel in the Labyrinth, it felt so real...
And the Dreaming family, which has been searching for Daniel in the Waking for weeks, wondering why they're unable to find his mind in the Dreaming, starts to realize just what his captors have done.
Tumblr media
They've used Daniel'a own powers against him, pulled on his own abilities and trapped his mind within a miniature Dreaming of his own unconscious making. And the longer he's there the more real it becomes, and the more he loses hope of being found, the more that his never being found becomes a Reality as well, blocking him from being found by his family by magical means, creating a self fulfilling prophecy.
And the more Daniel loses hope, the more he starts to lose himself....
Tumblr media
And this breaking of his heart and self is echoing back into Wish, who's already desperate to try and find Their cousin and best friend, who's been missing for months now. They're becoming colder, sharper, more reminsicent of how Desire was before Them, willing to do whatever They need to to get what They want, to find Daniel...
Tumblr media
Including making a deal with a certain young demoness They've never cared for. A wish of her choosing, to be fulfilled whenever she might ask, in return for reigning down vengance on Daniel's captors. For if Wish can't find them, They can make sure that they have a Hell of a time waiting for them in the end.
Tumblr media
Eventually, the Dreaming family is able to help Suz remember more about what had happened to her before she fell ill. People who had found her, who had said they were taking her to hospital, strange things she had thought were dreams when she'd 'slept' in the Labyrinth which she now realizes were actually small flashes of wakefulness.
And with these, they're able to finally pin point where the people who've taken Daniel might be, who've been using Suz's latent magical abilities to cover up Daniel's magical signature as well as boost their spell with her own life force.
The full force of Daniel's family comes raining down on the captors, though their mastermind and one of his main henchman manage to escape beforehand. They find Suz's body, deep in a coma, hooked up to a multitide of medical equity that's apparently keeping her alive. The captors who are left have used magic to keep themselves from answering any of the questions put to them...and so they get to truly know the terrors that Nightmare's can hold...
Tumblr media
Daniel, despite his rescue from the dream catcher Labyrinth, isn't doing well, in mind or body. Though Dream wants to keep him to heal in the Dreaming and Lyta understandable wants him in the Waking with her, both end up agreeing that with the nature of his Heart the best thing may actually be to let him spend his convalescence with Wish, who's more then happy to care for Their cousin, and furious with Themself for not finding him before he got to this state. Promising that They'll never let anyone hurt him like this ever again, no matter what...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their renewed proximity does seem to help Daniel somewhat, as well as calming Wish's intensity down (though simply having Daniel back is a main factor in that, shared hearts aside), but there's still much healing needed.
Suz is still in a coma, though her dreaming mind is happy to find a welcoming new family in the Dreaming, Matthew especially seems to have taken a shine to her, watching over her like she's a new born chick. But her mortal body, watched over in the Waking by the grateful Walkers and Lyta, isn't doing so well...
And the mastermind who orchestrated Daniel's capture, for reasons yet unexplained, is still out there...

Independence Day
Tumblr media
Summary: Charlotte has been away for work, finally returning just before the holiday, ready to see everyone again. especially Steve.
Ship: Steve Rogers x OFC
Warnings: none
Words: 2500-ish
A/N: It’s been forever since I posted a fic, so I hope you’ll like it.
This was written for a challenge (quote is bold), created by Suz (@targaryenvampireslayer). The challenge has long since passed but I couldn’t finish any of my ideas for it. Until now that is. The other options I had started will eventually be posted as well, though I’m not setting a deadline for those.
Anyway, I apologise for any mistakes. This wasn’t beta’ed.
Tumblr media
The sun was already high in the sky when Charlotte entered the house, using the spare key she’d been given by Natasha and Bucky when they had first bought the house. It had been a long time since she’d been able to use it and she momentarily wavered, considering ringing the bell instead.
When she first left town, she hadn’t thought of returning the key and when she had asked her friends later on, they had told her to keep it—to ensure that her departure from their town would be temporary, they’d said. At the time she had chuckled, wild horses wouldn’t keep her away. Still, three months had become four, then six and eventually it had been nearly a year before the project was finally finished. If she had wanted to, she could’ve built herself an entirely new life by then. She hadn’t though. She’d isolated herself—wallowing in self pity.
The move had been good for her career. Terrible for her budding love life.
She tried to shake the thoughts from her rather recent past and took a deep breath, before entering the door that would lead her into the living room. She smiled brightly, feeling instantly better, upon seeing all the familiar faces spread through the living room and garden. Faces she had missed so much and that brought her so much joy. Weekend visits weren’t the same as living nearby.
Charlotte had only returned to town two days earlier and the only person she’d seen in that time was Wanda—who had picked her up from the airport. Unfortunately both Natasha and Wanda had work engagements until today.
She scanned the room for Natasha, whose phone calls and gentle reassurances had helped her through the last year. Instead her eyes met those of a familiar blond. The man that has made the choice of career over personal life so very hard. He smiled at something that was said by the petite brunette standing before him and Charlotte felt her breath hitch—both struck by his looks and the brunette’s.
Apparently Steve had felt her staring and he glanced over, their eyes locking. She was certain he could still see right into her soul. He smiled and waved, keeping that eye contact a little longer. Charlotte made no attempt to look away either.
Steve only broke eye contact when Clint called him, asking for a hand with something. She didn’t actually register what he needed help with. It didn’t matter.
She needed a moment to slow her heartbeat. She had known he’d be here, had prepared herself the best she could, but seeing him still affected her greatly. Their time apart had done nothing to dull the effect he had on her.
“Charlie, you made it!” Natasha called out excitedly as caught sight of her friend, quickly making her way over. She was carrying an empty tray in one hand and used the other to pull Charlotte after her towards the kitchen.
Once there, Natasha took the dish Charlotte had brought from her hands, while she looked at her inquisitively. She spoke, but her words didn’t seem to land and she chuckled before moving around the kitchen getting food ready, offering her friend a moment to recover.
“You did know he’d be here right?” Natasha asked a moment later and Charlotte laughed.
“Yeah, I knew.”
“So I guess nothing changed for you, huh?” There was no malice in Natasha’s laughter and Charlotte couldn’t help but join her in it, shrugging the question off.
Natasha turned on the oven, ready to heat up the dips and dishes that were brought over by their friends. She didn’t fuss over Charlotte, she didn’t need to. Charlotte had had the biggest crush on Steve for years. While he had been oblivious to it for a long time. He’d still been in the army then, running in and out of their lives for his tours. He hadn’t stood still long enough to notice the effect he had on people until he retired from the force. Then he’d finally really seen Charlotte and her crush, and he had liked it. Unfortunately she had just accepted the out of town project by then and while they’d gone on a few dates, they had both decided the timing wasn’t right. At the time they still expected her to be back in three months.
The quiet calm in the room ended when the door behind Charlotte opened and Wanda burst in, with all her excited energy.
“Charlie, you’re here!” Wanda bounded over, dropping her baguettes on the counter—promptly filling the spot that Natasha had only just emptied—and pulling Charlotte into a hug. “I know I’ve already said this but I’m so glad you’re back. Tell me you made your dip for tonight?”
“She did,” Natasha laughed.
“How’s the apartment, they didn’t trash it did they?” Wanda asked, still practically jumping with energy. Her cousin,Jake, had rented the place for a few months while he waited for his home to be built—which had taken longer than intended and had left his family in a bind until Charlotte told them to stay in her place until she returned.
“It all seems fine. I did decide to change some things though, spruce things up,” Charlotte said, explaining how she’d already painted a whole wall in her living room.
“You’ve only been back two days!?!” Natasha exclaimed.
“Best to do it right away and the colour really gives the room a new feel,” Charlotte shrugged. “Oh and can you tell Jake that I found some of their stuff?”
“Absolutely,” Wanda nodded. “Have you talked to everyone yet?” She then added, a bad attempt at asking about Steve.
“No, not yet. Nat pulled me into the kitchen first.”
“After I caught her staring all lovey dovey at Steve,” Natasha teased. Charlotte stuck out her tongue at her friend and Wanda just laughed.
“So why didn’t it work out again?” Wanda asked.
“Timing,” Charlotte shrugged, “That pretty brunette, did he bring her?” She finally added, a question that had been burning inside of her.
“No, that’s our new neighbour. I’ll introduce you to her and her husband in a bit,” Natasha offered.
Before they could say anything else, the door was opened rather clumsily and Bucky burst in laughing loudly. He called the three of them back to the party, because they ‘needed’ to see what Clint was doing. Natasha rolled her eyes, but followed him anyway. Wanda and Charlotte close behind. With how these men were when they got together, whatever it was could be either destructive or lame, possibly both.
***
“It’s good to see you,” Steve spoke softly as he suddenly appeared beside her. “You look great.”
“Yeah, so do you,” Charlotte fumbled her words. Clearly cool points weren’t in the cards for today. Which she realistically had known the moment his mere presence had stunned her. Steve was an impressive man. Handsome, kind, smart. It really shouldn’t have surprised her that he still had such an effect on her.
“What’s it like settling back in?” Steve asked, standing close to her. He appeared comfortable and entirely unaware of the effect he had on her. He leaned close to better hear her response, because the conversations around them were loud, only enhanced by the music playing.
“It’s a little weird, it doesn’t entirely feel like my space anymore. Though Jake didn’t actually change anything.”
“I’m sure it’ll be a home again in no time.”
“Probably. I will say that it’s nice to have everyone close again.”
His lips were far too close to her ear when he whispered; “I’m glad you’re back.”
He then stood straight and just looked at her with the sexy smile of his. She felt a jolt in her stomach and couldn’t help but smile when she met his eyes. He opened his mouth to speak, when of course one of their friends had to interrupt.
“Steve, we need you,” Sam said and pulled him away without a moment's notice. She watched them walk out of the garden and into the large field behind it, where Sam had been working with Bucky to set up the fireworks. She smiled as she watched the two men goofing off while Bucky tried to organise their actions.
“What were you talking about?” Natasha snuck up on her, tickling her sides and making her jump a little. With a wink the redhead allowed the question to linger between them for a moment.
“Being home,” Charlotte finally answered simply.
Natasha hummed knowingly, then pulled her towards Wanda and Laura who were dancing to the music. Nothing needed to be said, Natasha could see the writing on the wall—he wasn’t over her either.
Thirty minutes later Natasha laughed when the men came back into the garden, drawing attention to their current state. Charlotte stopped dancing to see all three of them covered in mud, laughing loudly.
“I don’t think you were really the help they needed,” Charlotte joked when they were within earshot and while Sam laughed even harder, Steve had the good sense to look slightly apologetic.
“I didn’t push him,” he said, holding his hands up in defence.
“No, you pushed Sam, who then tripped and took Bucky down,” Clint explained hollering, glad to have seen the action as it happened.
“Please tell me your camera’s have a nice view on that field,” Charlotte asked Natasha and they both laughed again, while Bucky pretended to be offended at their mirth. Bucky then told the other two to follow him for clean clothes.
“Did you at least manage to set everything up?” Charlotte asked when they returned shortly after.
“We did, of course we did. We’re professionals!” Sam exclaimed, clearly a little intoxicated as he spoke louder than necessary. Charlotte chuckled, it really was nice to have her friends close again.
“I’m sure you are.”
“You’ll see. It’ll be beautiful,” Sam promised, hand on his heart.
“That’s because I made sure to remain sober long enough to keep them in check,” Bucky said, as he walked up to Charlotte and kissed her cheek. “Have I told you yet, how glad I am to finally get some help reigning these idiots in again,” he added with a wink.
“I might be a little out of practice though.”
“It’s like riding a bike,” Bucky said rather convincingly and she couldn’t help but laugh.
“Enough talking!” Natasha interfered. “More dancing.”
Charlotte wasn’t entirely sure how it happened, but before long she was dancing with Steve instead of her girlfriends. She was certain Wanda had meddled, but she hadn’t actually seen it happen. Either way, she wasn’t mad about it. Thanks to some liquid courage, she wasn’t as nervous as she had been earlier in the day and they were continuously laughing.
Steve might’ve had rhythm and he could stick to a beat, but that didn’t make him the best dancer. She could easily run circles around him, but instead they both acted as goofy as they could. Doing the robot to a country song or a line dance number to 2pac. It actually wasn’t easy to be that off beat.
“I’ve missed this,” she finally breathed out when he offered her a freshly made cocktail.
“Awful dancing?” He joked.
“That too,” she laughed. “No, all of this. These people, the laughter. I feel like I really belong here.”
“You do,” Steve said softly, looking deep into her eyes as he spoke. Her breath hitched for a moment and her heart skipped a beat. Those eyes of his would do her in one day.
“4, 3, 2, 1!!!” The people around them shouted in unison, cheering and encouraging as Bucky set off the first round of fireworks. All around them people oh’ed and ah’ed, but they hardly noticed any of it. It felt as if the world faded away around her and all that was left, was him. Charlotte felt the urge to kiss him, but she was afraid it wouldn’t be reciprocated. That the time passed had been too much and he had moved on. She clearly hadn’t though.
Despite her hesitation, she stepped closer. Her eyes flickering over to his lips momentarily, before going back to his beautiful, intense stare. She licked her lips as she did so, already imagining what it would feel like to press her lips to his.
Steve reached forward his hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear—it wouldn’t stay out of her face for very long but that didn’t matter. His hand lingered on her cheek just a tad too long and Charlotte gathered up enough courage to take the plunge.
Reaching forward she kissed him, carefully at first. When he didn’t pull away she got more brazen. Her tongue flicked out to caress his lips and he immediately opened his mouth, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her close.
Neither pulled back until much later, feeling lightheaded and giddy. Unbothered by the whistles and cheers from their friends.
***
“Can I walk you home?” Steve asked as Charlotte was collecting her things. The sun had set long ago and the party had died down. They were the last to leave, as neither one had wanted the day to end.
“I’d like that.” She was eager to prolong the day. Not ready to say goodbye, even though it would only be for the night.
Neither Steve nor Charlotte lived far from Natasha and Bucky, though not in the same direction. His offer to walk her home wasn’t a matter of simply leaving at the same time. He was going out of his way and that giddy feeling the kiss had created was instantly back, in full force.
While they walked he took her hand in his, strolling leisurely as they enjoyed the cooler temperatures that the night brought. It wasn’t cold by any means, but without the sun shining down on them, it wasn’t sweltering anymore.
They reached her apartment building in no time and stood in silence for a moment, unsure of what to say or do. Charlotte still didn’t want the day to end, but she feared being too forward with Steve. She worried about the timing, about the time spent away and the possible changes it could’ve brought in their connection.
Steve didn’t appear to be weighed down by the same worries as he leaned down and kissed her again—slow and intense, much like him—and Charlotte leaned in with a happy sigh.
“I don’t really want today to end,” Steve murmured as he pulled back from the kiss, his forehead pressed against hers. “I’ve missed you.”
“I’ve missed you too,” she spoke softly, a smile on her face. She offered up a quick peck on his lips to enhance the meaning behind her words and he chuckled, returning it.
“I should go,” he offered then, hesitantly.
“Yeah, maybe,” She said, still smiling, “Or you know, you can stay here, if you’d like.”
Without waiting for his answer, she opened the door behind her and stepped through it. Looking back to see what he’d do. He smiled as he looked her over in the harsh fluorescent light of the hallway. Then, just as she was about to take back her words, he stepped over the threshold and pulled her into his arms.

The cafe was busy, filled with groups of friends meeting for brunch, older couples sitting in peace enjoying the sun’s heat against their skin and then there was me.
I sat in the corner, the ice in my coffee slowly melting as I pretended to read my book. I kept my eyes on Mickey a few tables over as he talked with the woman from last night, gesticulating wildly as he told her a story about his friend. The sun glinted off the rings he never seemed to take off, the rings that I could still feel against my skin, a memory from when he lovingly gripped my hips a few nights ago.
I was in Athens with work, helping them open a new office when I met Mickey. He was DJing at a bar I had been taken to and I was instantly smitten, his boyish smile and energetic dancing had me hooked. He fought off a dark-haired girl who was standing to the side of his decks, seemingly desperate for his attention and made his way over to me.
We danced and kissed, knowing smiles shared between each other before I took him back to my hotel a few hours later, spending the night wrapped up in each other’s bodies. Nobody made me feel the way he did that night, I know he felt it too. I could see it in his eyes when he looked at me.
I woke up the next morning to a note on the pillow beside me, “Thanks for the sleepover, I’ll be in the same place again tonight. Come say hi” I bit my lip and smiled at his scratchy writing, running my fingers over the smiley face he signed off with. I rolled over to where he slept and breathed in the leftover scent of sea salt and sandalwood from the bedding.
It was Saturday and I had the entire day to myself so I went out exploring, buying a few things for friends at home and sampling the local food at the market. I couldn’t get my mind off Mickey though, the minutes passed by so slowly and I needed a distraction.
I grabbed my phone out of my bag and looked for a nearby clothes store, I knew nothing I packed for this trip would be good enough and I wanted to look my best for him. I passed a jewellery store on my way and something caught my eye, everything was falling into place nicely as if fate was playing her part in our story.
I made my way to the bar later that night, wearing the new dress I had bought to impress him. Making sure the little surprise I bought him was secure in my bag as I fished out €20 for the elaborate cocktails.
The bass was already thumping and I could hear the crowd having a good time as I rounded the corner to find him. I couldn’t stop the noise that came out of my mouth at the sight in front of me.
There he was standing behind the decks, his hands pawing at the body of a mystery blonde girl, kissing her the way he kissed me last night. It felt like I had been punched in the gut, I dropped the drinks and cringed when the people around me cheered. He invited me here tonight. He slept with me only hours before, I still remember how he whispered sweet things in my ear as his hips snapped against mine, he told me I wasn’t like other girls and he was so lucky to have met me.
This other girl must have thrown herself at him, there was no other explanation. He needed my help, I couldn’t just leave him here with her, who knows what might happen. I hid behind someone tall, reaching into my bag and running my fingers over the cool metal of the promise ring I bought him earlier.
I stayed in the shadows all night so she wouldn’t see me as I kept watch, it felt like she was twisting a knife in my back whenever she laughed at something he said. He was smiling at her, showing her how to use his equipment, clearly just a show for the crowd.
I followed them back to what I assumed was his place, watching as they fell through his front door. He was smart not to lock it behind him, he knows I’m here to protect him and need to get in without her noticing me so I can keep watch. I counted to a hundred before walking inside, shaking my head at how messy he was. He must have stripped off on his way to the bedroom, I picked up his clothes and folded them up, taking a deep breath and smiling at the scent I recognised from last night. I decided to take them back to my hotel so he has a change of clothes when he comes back over.
I heard noises coming from the other room and quietly walked over, peering through the crack in the door. I was shocked to find them both naked, his fingers buried deep inside her as she moaned into his mouth. I slip my hand into my underwear, copying his movements with my fingers since he was probably thinking about me anyway.
I had to bury my face in his clothes to drown out the sounds of my moaning as I kept rhythm with him. I couldn’t stay here any longer, he seemed to have this under control and I could talk to him another time about better ways to deal with women who throw themselves at him.
The next morning I woke up early and made my way over to his place, I waited across the street in the little park that faced his building. They seemed to take a long time to come out and I was getting restless, I considered breaking back into the building but before I could finish my thought they came out hand in hand. I figured he was just waiting for her cab to arrive but was angered as I watched him grab her hand and walk down the street.
That’s how I found myself here at the cafe, watching them both and making sure he was safe. They sat a little too close together, her hand on his leg rubbing circles into his thigh with her thumb as they talked. A child a few tables away let go of their balloon, crying loudly and causing me to lose concentration for a moment.
One moment is all it took, a dark-haired girl had approached them both, I couldn’t quite hear what she was saying but the look on Mickey’s face said it all. She was another person I needed to keep him safe from, thankfully that was going to be easy because right now she was walking towards the bathrooms.
Perfect. Out of sight and easy to clean up after.
I took one more look over before making my way over to the ladies. The girl was crying at the sink, looking at herself in the mirror and that’s when I recognised her. She was there the night I met Mickey, she was desperate for his attention then as well. I stood beside her, washing my hands, and asked her if she was ok.
She nodded her head and tried to stop herself from crying, sniffling and taking deep breaths. I waited until the room was empty before grabbing her hair and slamming her face into the mirror, over and over until she fell to the floor. The noise of what happened must have travelled because as if by magic in walked the blonde girl asking what happened.
She took one look at the scene in front of her and screamed out, I charged at her and knocked her down, straddling her waist and punching her in the face repeatedly until the noise stopped. I was covered in her blood but that’s ok, he’s worth it.
A small crowd of people ran in as I was on top of her, including Mickey. He was shouting down at me and pushing me off the woman. I smiled up at him and raised my bloodied hand, "I had to do it. Don't you see? I love you more than anything."

I totally understand where you're coming from. I thought IWTB was decent only bc I watched TXF in a weird way. I watched the movies first then the series. The first movie was awesome even for people who didn't watch the series. The second movie I found a bit harder to understand. I had to read between the lines with respect to W. At first I thought their child had died but when I finally watched the series it made a little bit more sense +
+when I finshed the series although the last scene was incredibly hopeful and I love msr I was left with the feeling of waiting for the shoe to drop between them. Scully had to give up her miracle child, the one thing she wanted the most and just glossing over their loss was always going to backfire on them and their relationship eventually imo. I totally get that CC's aversion to msr might have driven their distance in IWTB but I just interpret it differently +
Oh, and that's fine! Different strokes for different folks. It's just that I'm part of a group of fans who've always felt that with the knowledge that CC had that S7 might mean the end of TXF, he and the writer's room could've come up with something more creative than Mulder gets abducted and Scully gets knocked up as a season/series final.
Two points about that: the first is that so much had changed for Mulder because of SUZ/Closure that having a close encounter of the first kind (alien abduction) would not be his greatest wish (which is something CC implied and possibly stated outright?). Because when exactly was it established that that was his goal? His focus was always on finding out what had happened to Samantha, and he got that answer in Closure. The fanbase as a whole might not have liked that particular conclusion but it was enough for Mulder to feel that he'd finally been freed.
Secondly, Scully having to give up her "miracle child" is more egregious to me than Mulder's abduction. And I could write a novel just about that, but I won't do that here or right now. Let's just say that from what information we were given in the the first seven seasons, it's obvious that Scully had thought about having kids someday (as did Mulder), but it was never a thought that became an overwhelming need. I mean, she even says in Christmas Carol that she didn't know she wanted it until she couldn't have it. And I'm sorry, but that's a piss-poor justification for having a child to begin with. And I'm saying this from the perspective of someone who dealt with infertility for all of my reproductive years. I am childless. I'll never know what it is to create life with someone I love. But it's not the end of the world, even though it felt like it sometimes. Just because you want something doesn't mean you're entitled to it or should have it. That's just life.
What it boils down to for me is that Mulder never should've been abducted and Scully shouldn't have had a miracle pregnancy. It was messy, incomprehensible storytelling. I'll never forgive CC for taking the easy way out to solve the issue of Duchovny's limited participation in S8. I expected better from him. I'm not alone in that.
If you erase the abduction and Scully's pregnancy then you open up a far wider and more interesting landscape in which to continue their story. But Chris played it the easy way and he paid the price for it. Unfortunately, so did a large portion of the fanbase.
I know your (and many other fans) experience is different than mine was, as I watched it week by week over many years, and I don't discount your take in any way. I'm just saying that for those who were there from the beginning much, if not all all, of what happened post-S7 was a bitter pill to swallow.

If you wanted to incorporate Kris or Ralsei, but didn't want to rewrite the Susie Noelle Berdly trifecta, you could just create a second swap triangle with Kris and Ralsei. You would just need a third to complete the trio, like fuckin uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Rouxls Kaard
Nononononono, it's not about rewriting susie, noelle, and berdly, it's about rewriting their relationships, dialogue, the weird route. and probably their past histories as well. If I were to do swap Kris and Ralsei, I'd have to do the whole au over. Teammateswap (and the rest of my aus honestly) focuses on the relationships with Suz, Noe, and Berd. Between each other and with the other characters.
And honestly, like I said a billion times, swapping 3 characters is enough for me. Any more and it'll confuse everyone even more than it already confuses people (and it'll confuse me too honestly).
