You can recycle unused clothes, while getting a great new zero-waste outfit and being part of the sharing economy. How to participate: - purchase a clothes swap ticket (in our bio) and bring up to 10 items of shoes or clothes. - Drop your items off from 10:00am and you’ll be given tokens for each item you bring to swap. - Return at 11:30am for the kids swap or 1:00pm for the adults swap with your tokens and “shop” for new to you clothing and shoes. - There will be a sustainable fashion styling presentation at the start of the adults clothes swap by Jewelz Green. 10:00am Check in opens 11:30am Kids clothes swap begins 1:00pm Adults clothes swap $5 for the Kids Swap and $10 for the Adult Swap for a max of 10 items or book as a family for $20 and 30 items. But what about China? 🇨🇳 Why should we care about net zero when China emits more than us? We get this question a lot… thanks for this post @earthbyhelena Why should we change our ways if others won't? Although China has recently emitted a large quantity of greenhouse gas emissions, cumulatively over the past two centuries, European countries - primarily the UK and Germany - have emitted far more than China. Between 1990 and 2016 the UK's production emissions declined by 40%. This gives the impression that the UK is a world leader in decarbonisation. But in the same period, emissions associated with imports to the UK, including travel, rose by 14% - and that's just the stuff we know about and have counted. While this argument stands for the UK, for the USA these stats are even starker. This is not to say we should not be encouraging green, clean development in other countries, but finger pointing and whataboutism are distracting from decarbonisation efforts in countries like the UK, who have a moral obligation to reduce emissions based on historic and existing fossil fuel practices. Cut off jeans shorts is a piece of clothing that I would never spend money on. So, I made my own from a damaged pair of @levis. I cut just above my knees, fringed the edges evenly ( I need to keep the level of refinement😊) and personalized by embroidering a floral motive. Two trends in one piece and in my own way. As you can see, I wore with espadrilles. They made my cut offs looks more grownup. A must when you are no longer on your 30s.
