A wave of fear washed over you when Dazai informed you that the president has just summoned you in his office. It wasn't like you did anything bad, yet you couldn't help but wonder why he wanted to see you.

"Mr. President?" you asked in a hushed voice as you stepped into his office with your head bowed. "You wanted to see me."

"Ah, Y/N, yes. Please take a seat" said the silver haired man as he motioned you towards a cushioned pillow on the ground. "Would you like some tea?"

You mumbled a small 'mhm' before sitting on the mat. "So why did you want to see me, sir? Did I do something?"

Your tried to hide your anxiety but the tone of your voice betrayed you. Fukuzawa lifted his gaze from the tea he was pouring, his ocean eyes narrowing at you.

"Why would you assume you did something wrong?" he inquired.

"Well..." you stuttered "You don't usually ask me to come to your office so I figured that I messed something up."

A heavy silence fell between the two of you; you could even hear your own racing heartbeat. But then Fukuzawa's lips curled into a gentle smile.

"Oh, Y/N. I just wanted to congratulate you for doing such a great job. Your work is invaluable to our organization and I wanted to personally thank you for your contribution."

The relief you felt upon hearing his praise could hardly be put into words; your lips stretched into a gleeful smile as you bowed your head.

"Thank you sir. I'm honoured to be a member of this agency and I really cannot express how happy I am that my hard work pays off, dad. I promise I won't disappoint you and-"

The look of surprise on Fukuzawa's face made you stop in dead in your tracks. What was wrong? You asked yourself as you went over your speech in your mind. And then you realized that you had just called him dad.

"Oh God I'm sorry, sir. I didn't think when I said that"

Fukuzawa's expression softened as he handed you your cup of tea; steam curling on its surface like grape vines.

"Don't worry about it" he said reassuringly "I don't mind it."

The two of you quietly sipped your sweet tea before he let you return to work. After you shut the door, Fukuzawa finally allowed himself to externalize the sheer amount of happiness he felt. There was nothing he loved more than being able to take care of the Agency's members, and the fact that you considered him a father figure was proof that he was doing a good job.

It was only eight months ago that the Port Mafia decided to recruit you as an assistant. Your job was pretty basic: compling reports for different missions and sorting paperwork but you loved it since it allowed you to meet almost all higher ups in the organization.

This is how you ended up getting acquainted with Oda. Although he was around seven years older than you, he was surprisingly high spirited and young at heart and unlike other members of the Mafia he was always kind to you. Oda would often swing by the dusty underground room that acted as your office and ask how you day was, bringing you snacks and tea.

After a few months his visits became something natural and at times, when you were absorbed in your work, you didn't fully acknowledge his presence.

"Hi, Y/N. How's your day going?" asked the brunette as he shut the wooden door, causing a cloud of dust to rise from the floor.

"Jesus" he coughed "You really need to clean this place one day"

"Yea, I know. I just cannot find a damn broom in this entire building. Oh and I'm good thanks for asking. What about you?" you replied, typing away on your laptop. The keys on the computer board clicked faintly as you quickly ran your digits over them.

Your comment made Oda chuckle lightly "Well, my day's fine too. I'm gonna go on a mission later but I wanted to bring you lunch first" he said as he placed a cardboard box on your desk.

"Oh, thanks dad" you babbled out, still not taking your eyes off of the glowing screen.

It was only when the man let out a hoarse laughter that you actually snapped out of your trance.

"Did you just call me dad?" he asked in a playful voice, causing your face to heat up.

"Uh... Did I? I guess I did" you said in attempt to play it off. "Do you mind it?"

"Of course not, Y/N. It's really nice to know that you see me as a father figure."

For a few seconds your gaze held his and you could see the joy sparkling in his eyes; he was giddy, like a kid in a candy store.

The wholesome moment was however abruptly interrupted by a blink; you had just received another e mail from your boss, asking you to go over some old documents from the archive.

"Uuh this work just never ends!" you cried out, throwing your hands in the air in a desperate gesture.

Oda only chuckled at your outburst, his smile widening. "Well then I'll leave you to it, but don't forget to eat something too"

"I won't. Thanks Oda and good luck on the mission"

The man lazily waved at you before stepping out of the room, a gentle smile making its way to his lips. She called me dad. He kept chanting those words to himself throughout the whole day, his heart swelling with unbounded pride and joy.

as someone who never actually had a family until he met Fukuzawa, having someone else see him as an older brother is such an honour

from then on, Ranpo shares more of his sweets with you

You've been working at the Detective Agency for a couple of months now and Ranpo was your mentor. He had found you one day at a crime scene, hovering over the body with an inquisitive look on your face.

"Sirs, it may look like this man committed suicide but based on the angle the blade was tilted at I can rule it a homicide. There's no way he could've held the knife like that" you announced confidently as one of the police officers dragged you away from the corpse.

You were hectically swinging your arms and legs in attempt to free yourself. "I'm telling you, it wasn't suicide. You're jumping to conclusions."

"Shut up, brat" spat the vexed policeman as he showed you past the yellow tape that restricted the perimeter. "You better not cross the line again unless you wanna end up in jail. This is your last warning" he said before walking away from you.

You huffed in annoyance, turning on your heels when you suddenly bumped into the young detective.

"You're quite observant, young lady" he said in his usual jovial voice. "Tell me, how old are you?"

"Seventeen..." you mumbled, your eyes narrowing at him "And who are you?"

The young man chuckled as a wide smile made its way to his lips. "I'm Ranpo Edogawa, the world greatest detective. And you, miss, are in great luck. I want to rectruit you as my apprentice."

From then on you accompanied Ranpo to crime scenes and solved countless cases together, the friendship between you growing stronger by the day.

One Monday evening as you returned to the office from a crime site, you enthusiastically pulled Ranpo in for a hug.

"Thanks, nii-chan. This was my biggest case so far and I couldn't have solved it without you." you beamed.

For a brief moment the detective was awestruck; he was accustomed to your sudden affections, but it was the first time you've ever called him big bro.

As if sensing his bewilderment you quickly pulled away from him, a deep shade of pink tinting your cheeks as you fumbled for words.

"I'm sorry Ranpo I don't know why I said that."

The detective regained his composure, flashing you his signature smirk "Hey, hey don't worry, Y/N" he said gently as he caressed the crown of your head. "You can always count on your big bro. Let's go get some sweets now, ok? My treat."

You nodded eagerly and began walking towards the closest convenience store; Ranpo stood behind, his emerald eyes following your movements. A warm feeling, which was most likely a blend of love and pride, bloomed in his chest as he watched you open the glassy door of the shop.

"You coming?" you yelled at him in attempt to cover the sound of the incoming traffic and he quickly followed you. The door closed behind him with a thud as you entered the shop.

"Keep up, Y/N. We still have a few more shops to check out" said the woman with a wide grin on her face as she entered yet another store.

It was the beginning of summer and almost all boutiques had clothes on sale, which meant that your colleague ought to take you on one of her infamous shopping sprees. Since you only started your job only a few months ago, you couldn't afford most of the ellegant garments displayed in the shop windows, so you simply resolved to carrying around Yosano's bags.

"Naa girly wait for me" you whined as you struggled to balance the shiny box Yosano just handed you.

The woman, seemingly ignoring your complaints, walked to a nearby mannequin and scanned the dress it was wearing with narrowed eyes.

"Tell me, Y/N. Do you like this?" she asked in a contemplative voice.

You considered the dress for a moment before speaking; it was truly gorgeous, a black piece adorned with intricate purple and pink patters which looked like curls of smoke.

"It's very beautiful, Akiko. You'd look great in it."

Your friend sighed, her head dropping to the side as her violet eyes met yours "That wasn't the question, Y/N. I asked if you like it."

You were taken aback by her blunt words but quickly nodded, earning a smile from the woman.

"Good. Then try it on" she said, taking a clothes hanger from a nearby rack.

You didn't bother to hide your excitement as you rushed to the changing rooms and slipped into the dress; and it fit you like a glove, perfectly hugging all your curves. With excitement burning in your eyes, you stepped out of the dressing room.

"Soo what do you think?" you asked your friend, performing a twirl.

"Oyy you look so hot girl" she cheered "Wear this to the next event we go to and you'll sweep everyone off their feet."

"I highly doubt that" you giggled, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. "Plus I can't afford it anyway"

"Nonsense! I'm buying it for you" announced the woman with a proud smile on her face.

"But I can't accept it, Aki. It's way too-"

Yosano cut you short with a swift motion of her hand "Then consider it a birthday gift. You're turning 20 next month right?"

An ecstatic smile made it's way to your lips as you hugged her. "Thanks, nee chan" you whispered, your arms snaking around her neck.

Upon hearing your words Yosano's face turned a light shade of pink but she wasted no time to slip her hands around your torso, pulling you closer to her. Happiness bubbled up inside her when she felt you giggle agaist her shoulder.

"Anytime, Y/N" she smiled back

Oda forces.

Nobunaga Oda.

At first Nobunaga will react like the second option, glare at the children for the prank. Though it’s not because he is angry, more like he doesn’t get it.

He will do pranks back secretly and laugh at them, getting pay back at them.

Hideyoshi Toyotomi.

Hideyoshi will pull on their ears, scolding them for pulling pranks when he is so busy. But he will begin to feel bad since the children were only having fun and will play with them.

Mitsuhide Akechi.

He will just smirk at the children, more harmless pranks will make him chuckle and commend the children for the creativity. But sometimes he will just smile eerily and prank them back when they least expect it.

Ieyasu Tokugawa.

Ieyasu is the kind of parent that would get very annoyed and glare, scold the children for interrupting his work. But he will feel bad if the children cry and will comfort them.

Mitsunari Ishida.

Prank? Mitsunari won’t even realize he is being pranked, he will just want to play along with his children without noticing it.

Masamune Date.

Masamune will have a good laugh, encouraging his children to make more fun and creative pranks. He might even join them to pull pranks on others.

Keiji.

Keiji is a bit tricky, sometimes he will find the prank fun and not get mad at all, but there will be times where he will be annoyed and will tell them to quit it. He wouldn’t be angry though.

Ranmaru Mori.

Ranmaru would find the children adorable for trying to prank him, so he would pretend to fall for them. Naturally he would already know because of his ninja skills.

Uesugi-Takeda alliance.

Kenshin Uesugi.

Just like he is towards MC, kenshin is very protective and loving towards his children, so he hardly would get mad at them. But he would find it inconvenient sometimes. Kenshin would surprisingly not be too harsh with them.

Shingen Takeda.

He will know that his children are planning something, so shingen will prepare himself to act like he didn’t know anything. When he gets pranked, shingen will act a bit dramatically, which will make his children laughing, exactly like he was expecting.

Yukimura Sanada.

Yukimura is a fun parent to prank, he will have the funniest reactions to the pranks his children pull and will nag at them as they flee. Even when he gets to scold them he looks funny.

Yoshimoto Imagawa.

Yoshimoto isn’t very fond of certain pranks, and he will try nagging his children for it, though he will lack a bit of energy. It will be more annoyance rather than anger.

Sasuke.

Sasuke will know immediately if his children are planning to prank him and will begin to plan in his head many strategies on how to avoid it with his ninja skills, but in the end he will fail and will be caught in the prank.

Kanetsugu.

One look from him and the children will already begin apologizing while bowing, he will not be pleased with pranks. Though he will feel bad for being too harsh and will pat them to calm them down.

Lone forces.

Kennyo.

Kennyo will be confused, he is the kind of parent who will scold his children if they try pranking him with life lessons, but he won’t have the heart to be harsh on them.

Motonari Mouri.

Just for pulling a prank on him they are getting light hits on the head, Motonari will scold his children for the pranks.

Kichou

Kichou is also the kind of parent that, with just one look, manages to make his children regret pranking him. He wouldn’t go hard on the scolding, but he certainly wouldn’t be amused.

With that new information, it's like a switch gets triggered and enter his tickle monster form.

"Run" is the only word he gives you.

He gets a kick out of chasing you down the hallways.

Once he catches you, he'll trap you in a bear hug and his hands will dig all over your torso as he whispers sweet teases into your ear.

"Aww, is this sensitive?~ Haha! Was that a snort? Do it again!~"

If anyone even dares to make fun of your interest in tickling, even if there's no ill intent behind it, he can and WILL kill them. We love a respectful man.

Kouyo:

Finds it very adorable.

Would never say it to your face bc eww vulnerability.

Will take any opportunity to give you surprise tickles. Your backs turned? Her nails lightly run down your spine. Surprise hip squeeze bc she felt like it, etc.

You're never safe when in close proximity, not like you mind~

Akutagawa:

Tachihara:

The whole tickling ordeal would make him feel very nostalgic (if y'know, y'know) except now he has the upper hand.

I can imagine he was constantly at the receiving end of tickles. But now he has someone who willingly allows themselves to get tickled.

Loves the feeling of power he gets now that you gave him this info. Will constantly pin you down and go to town on your spots.

He'd probably feel ecstatic that finally someone let's him tickle them willingly.

Probably doesn't know what he's doing but is okiee you'll guide him, even if it's embarrassing going into detail on how he should tickle.

Finds it very cute.

Will take any opportunity to torment you.

If you're trying to reach something on a high shelf, his hands will shoot under your arms. Not looking? A quick hip squeeze. Casually resting on the couch? He can and will jump on you and go to town.

He's just a tickling menace, but he does keep your boundaries in mind.

Oda:

As a man with a lot of kids running around, he knows exactly how to tickle you.

He don't even bother asking, he just goes straight to the action.

And if you dare complain, he will pull the "but you like it" card

He's the type of ler that would tease you without trying.

"Your hips are so sensitive when I pinch them like this..." just a mere observation, while you die under his wiggly fingers-

One piece characters with a bilingual s/o / s/o who's second language is english

Heyyy it me im here, i just wanted to make this 4 my fellow bilinguals bc english is my second language (first language is danish✌🤩) and sometimes when people find out i speak two languages theyre like "omg wow i could nevr"

Characters: Luffy, Sanji, Aokiji

Luffy

Ah yes, Monkey D Luffy, he is also bilingual (i am Oda and i said so myself bc he's from Brazil okay) and abseloutely noone expected this till the encounter with Ace in Alabasta, because those two 100% had a long ass conversation in portuguese and everyone was like "🤨".

Anyways, he thinks its cool that you're also bilingual! He think it makes you seem smarter knowing multiple languages. Oh? He speaks two languages too? Yeah, 'but portuguese is just portuguese' (he's a bit stupid and doesnt think him speaking two languages is as smart as you speaking two (or more) languages)

Makes you teach him what 'im gonna be the king of pirates' is in ur language.

Likes hearing you casually speak in your language, not particularly to him, just in general. Like you could be having a conversation with yourself, or singing a little song in your language and he'd be listening intently. Does he understand anything? 'No, but it sounds pretty! Shishishishishi :D'

Sometimes you ask him to teach you phrases, which he happily does!..well, tries to. He is NOT the best teacher, because if there's something you have a bard time pronouncing, he just says it again, which doesn't really help 🥲.

All in all, think its cool, but doesnt really care too much, but thinks its nice to meet someone with common experiences as him language wise.

Sanji

Abshwsh i love him.

Thinks its very interesting and cool that you can speak more than one language.

Asks you to teach him how to say romantic things to you like 'my love', 'i love you', 'you're beautiful' and its so sweet.

If you sometimes accidentally slip up in languages (fx. Say a phrase but accidentally say one of the words in your language) he wont question, but try to understand what you said.

After a couple of times of this happening, he'll understand what it means by looking at the words around it and stuff like that, and you adore him for it cause that struggle is real dude 😭

Asks you to sing songs in your language for him (if you can sing/like singing) and will melt if you sing a slow song/love song

When he lays in your lap while you're doing something or relaxing, and you suddenly start singing a random little tune in your language, he will fall asleep. Its adorable

If youre one of those types that switch languages when they get excited, he will think its so cute, like, you rambling on about an interest or something, and accidentally switching languages for about a sentence before you notice, and him just looking at you with eyes full of love at your mini embarrassment of accidentally switching languages.

He loves you and everything about you, this is just a little unique thing that might be one of the things that he loves the most about you.

Aokiji

This man. THSI MAN!!!1!11

He thinks its very useful that you know two languages.

He'll probably try learning your language, to just be able to have more private conversations with you.

Sometimes he'll just say unexpected affections in your language that he definitely wouldn't say if people understood him, and its just so abxjabzj.

At the start though, back when you didnt know he was learning your language, and you were annoyed with him, you'd maybe call him something you call lazy people in your language.

He heard this and knew what it meant, so he was like "🤨 ayo thats a bit rude bro" and you were so embarrassed.

Just as the other two, he loves listening to you sing in your language, makes him all soft inside. Even if its a bit of a weird and unknown feeling, he wouldn't want the feeling to stop.

Sometimes when you're laying in bed with his head on your stomach, he'll ask you to sing a little tune or something, and will fall asleep to that

Surprisingly, he doesnt have much of an accent in your language, he's just that smart lmao.

He's just very nice and cool (pun intended) about it in general.

One Piece Chapter 1082 - Initial Thoughts

Well this one took a while to get up, likely due to Golden Week and Viz saying no chapter for 2 weeks, but we finally got a scanlation from TCB so let's delve into it!

We've ticked stuff off with Kid and Law, Garp is ongoing, what's next on the agenda?

Chopper I don't think Nami will be happy if you eat Zeus

T-Bone Nooooooo! I liked that dude

Tsuru and Sengoku lament his murder as well

I guess it didn't help T-Bone's cause that he was in a kingdom dying of starvation, still why you gotta kill the guy who literally would give you the clothes off his back?

The Cross Guild's bounty system has put some unease in the Marines about people backstabbing them, but at the same time Pirates do deal with that on the daily

Hina shows up now, seems the only prominent Marines we haven't seen recently are Fujitora and Smoker

Hina tells them that Garp went off to save Koby, and took Tsuru's granddaughter with him

The wording implies that Garp is not in SWORD himself, he just 'teamed up' with them, even though his students are in SWORD...hmmm

Over to Buggy, congratulating the guy who killed T-Bone

This guy? I want to hate it, but he probably did it out of desperation, and I know T-Bone wouldn't have fought back against a civilian...I dunno I'm still in disbelief, sad disbelief

Buggy has a system of gassing up the culprit, then assuring them that they'll have protection by joining the Cross Guild

Heh, Barley-sama

The Cross Guild have a new ship annnnd it's Buggytastic, much to Buggy's distain

Yeah you shouldn't leave any creative designs solely under your men Buggy you should've learned that from the posters

The 'Meeting Room' aka Mihawk and Crocodile's torture dungeon where they beat up Buggy's head (settle down fanfic writers!)

Crocodile is still on his plans of Utopia, Mihawk's surprisingly okay with that though, guess a single state where he can just be in peace would suit his desires too

Buggy though disagrees with the plan, stating they're doing things backwards

More context in flashback to come with Shanks and Buggy

Huh, it seems Buggy's rift with Shanks is more than just the treasure map incident, Buggy gave up on Laugh Tale because he expected Shanks to be the one to get there, but then when Roger was executed Shanks decided against going for the time being, which kinda stumped Buggy

It's an interesting new dimension that Buggy's disdain for Shanks is rooted more in disappointment, since he feels let down that Shanks didn't follow in Roger's footsteps

But since Shanks is now going after the One Piece, and Buggy is deemed his equal as a Yonko, he wants to go to Laugh Tale first

Okay Oda, are you REALLY gonna tell us what happened in the Reverie? Or are you gonna move to another situation and follow up with the Revolutionaries after Sabo's told them?

A lot going down in that chapter, as I suspected though still not done with the external plots, I must admit I do miss my merry band of pirates.

Still in disbelief about T-Bone though, might be one of the 5 fans he has but he was a good guy, one of the few good marines in that whole shindig and to be off-screened like that it just doesn't sit well with me. A big part of me hopes it's some kind of con, and maybe T-Bone faked his death so the people would have money, but that's me being Carrot4Nakama levels of hopeful.

Strangely enough Crocodile and Mihawk did lose points for me, they feel like quitters compared to Buggy's impassioned speech about pursuing the very top of your desires. I suppose Mihawk is less so since he's already the top of his field, but Crocodile feels like he just wants to be a king, even though we know from Miss Goldenweek's (coincidence?) cover story that Crocodile's dream is to be Pirate King. Buggy won some charisma points there, but you had T-Bone killed so minus points for that too! Strangely though I didn't lose points on Shanks, understanding more about why Buggy is mad was illuminating and adds more points there but part of me feels like Shanks knew something Buggy didn't, we never know what Roger said to him after returning from Laugh Tale, Roger also wanted his son to be the one who would shake the world, and Rayleigh even said 'we were too early', so I don't feel like Shanks is a quitter as much, he was waiting for the right moment.

I had no doubts that Sabo was alive, but I am curious about his comment of not being at Lulusia during the incident. He did save a bunch of people so I am more inclined to believe it's actually him, but there is that seed of doubt.

While there's 'no break next week' for Oda there might be one for Shonen Jump so we'll monitor that situation, but it feels like the most earth shattering twists of this arc are still lying in wait.

Dashboard Osmosis: One Piece

I've actually read a hundred and some chapters of One Piece. But unlike most series, "a hundred chapters" isn't that much of One Piece. (One Piece has 1,079 chapters at time of writing. As points of comparison: Dragon Ball has 519, Worm has 304, and LotR has 62. Granted, not all chapters are of equal length, but still.)

I'd probably like One Piece if I'd gotten into it as a kid, but by the time I gave it a shot, I was already the fan of an author who published new chapters every week, which I had been failing to keep up with, and One Piece didn't grab me hard enough to justify continuing.

Anyways. Osmosis.

A kid-friendly romp through an ocean of adventure with silly arbitrary rules, but also deeply political, in a way obvious to anyone who thinks manga can be political.

Most of the main characters could be protagonists in another manga series. None of them would be in the same genre as Luffy.

While the focus in the bit I read is on a bunch of unrelated islands in a place whose physics make inter-island travel needlessly difficult (and hence each arc's adventure is largely isolated from the prior and subsequent ones, save for any antagonists following them), the series eventually develops a larger and more interconnected world.

There is exactly one time skip of note. Which is weird; I'd expect either a time skip every normal-Shonen-Jump-title-lifetime or just following every adventure the characters go on until the conclusion is reached.

There's definitely a conclusion that's being approached, and somehow all thousand-plus chapters are necessary to reach it. This is backed up by call-backs reaching back longer than most series gets to exist, which makes me wonder how Oda planned everything.

The anime has a lot of filler (I think it's still running weekly?), but it's high-quality filter that fits in the larger story surprisingly well.

The clown becomes a major character and the reindeer gets buff.

Almost none of this came from Tumblr, so "online osmosis" would be more accurate.

Rebecca honestly seemed like a shoe-in, I was so sure about her pretty much right until Kyros said that he didn’t want her to have to fight anymore. The fact that he defeated Diamante instead of Rebecca was the final proof that Rebecca’s storyline was about non-violence, and therefore was not appropriate for the role of Straw Hat, as needing to be a recurring character in a BATTLE MANGA would invalidate that character arc

Pudding’s storyline started with Luffy saying “oh cool, new crewmate,” so understandably everyone’s immediate thought was “yeah, new crewmate” until it was revealed that Three-Eyes can read the Poneglyphs. I, among others, started to suspect that Blackbeard was going to get ahold of her somehow so that he could have an avenue for reaching Laugh Tale, and lo and behold, we were right. The act of saving Pudding might actually lead to her recruitment, but I’m not exactly expecting that

I was really on the fence about Tama for a while, but her helping in the raid was what solidified to me that she was a natural fit since she had a DIRECT and frankly tremendous impact on the flow of the battle. I was honestly shocked that, after her story started with “Ace promised to take me out to sea,” that it ended with Luffy making the same promise rather than fulfilling it. I get it, she’s still a kid, it just feels...less impactful for that to be bookended rather than actually concluded. I imagine it’ll be pushed for the final battle or even the epilogue so that Tama can have had some time to grow at least a little, but since I don’t have that retrospect yet, Tama’s character arc within the context of Wano feels incomplete

This is more or less the same feeling I’m left with for Carrot, but with two caveats. One, Carrot’s character arc started back in Zou like...what? Six or seven years ago? And had the entirety of Zou, Whole Cake, and Wano to build her up and pay her off, but instead she got off-screened by Perospero and had no moments beyond her initial reveal of Sulong.

Second, it’s obvious her character arc isn’t done since Pedro’s entire thing was “everyone has their time to shine,” it just felt like Carrot was either supposed to get hers already or like missing her opportunity in Wano meant that she wasn’t ready for it and would need to remain with the Straw Hats to get it. I thought for sure she was going to be hiding on the Sunny after Wano instead of going back to Zou, which would both bookend how she came to be on the Sunny in the first place AND would parallel Inuarashi and Nekomamushi sneaking aboard Roger’s ship, but no, she apparently just went back to Zou to rule, I guess. But because she isn’t a literal child like Tama, the method for her return and her ability to make an impact are a lot clearer, it just feels like it would make more sense if we got to see Carrot’s continued growth after her failure

Yamato always felt awkward to me, honestly, just showing up and saying “I’m joining the crew. You don’t know me or anything about me, but I’m joining.” I wouldn’t have been surprised if Yamato had joined, but with the character arc that Yamato was established to have, I was fully expecting a major part of it to be “deciding against joining the crew,” and I was right, just not in the way I necessarily expected to be. No question Yamato is coming back as a major ally, I’m just curious if the intention is for Yamato to be a delayed recruit like Jinbe. I could go either way on that one, but I’m siding with no for now

Monet on the other hand really just needs a reintroduction and her recognizability to the rest of the group should honestly make her integration surprisingly natural, like Robin at the end of Alabasta. I think the real question is how to differentiate the two, but I have faith Oda can do it fine. The big problem at the moment is how she’ll be reintroduced, each chapter is making it a little harder for me to see how that would be done, but again, I have faith

But that one cost about 15000 yen… (T/N $100/£80)

I wanted to buy it straight away to join my new figure collection、but I know I need to manage my money carefully so I didn't buy it。

「Wasabi Flavoured Grilled Seaweed」！！！！

It's super delicious！！！！

They also have a plum flavoured version、so I always eat the plum version but today I had the Wasabi version！

It tasted way better than I was expecting…！

Nobunaga Oda.

He likes sweets, so as long as you add his favorite, Konpeito, there shouldn’t be any problem with pleasing him! Except that… he can be hard to please. Being a teenager who can barely cook can bring a lot of trouble, specially when you want to bake a whole cake for your adoptive big brother.

Nobunaga was curious about what you were preparing for him, which is why he was excited when you said it was ready. He wondered to himself if it was meant to look that… liquid. He does tries it and doesn’t hate the taste, he drank the whole bowl of the ‘water cake’.

Hideyoshi Toyotomi.

Now, hideyoshi isn’t a fan of sweets, actually. But because you wanted to do something nice for him, he decided that it wasn’t bad to try some of your cooking. He was even excited to see what you had planned.

Hideyoshi will be shocked by how… burned the cake looked, but he didn’t have the courage to call you out on it, you looked so expectant of his approval that he just swallowed the whole thing, even if it didn’t taste good.

Ieyasu Tokugawa.

Ieyasu is another one who doesn’t like sweets, which is why he didn’t have high expectations for liking the cake. But since you were his little sister, he would go easy on you and at least try it. But… you accidentally switched the sugar for hot sauce. How? Don’t even ask.

Your luck? Since Ieyasu doesn’t like sugar, he actually liked the cake, though he added a bit more hot sauce to make it spicier.

Mitsunari Ishida.

Honestly, he is a much more complicated case. He can’t taste food, which means making a cake would be difficult, if not by taste, would making it aesthetic pleasing be enough? Maybe not, giving his habit of mixing the food he eats.

Nevertheless, he didn’t seem to mind the strange shaped cake. If anything he seemed pleased and even praised you by patting your head, truly his little sister understands his taste.

Masamune Date.

This one will be even harder to impress, which… left you stressed. Masamune is a great cook, and he likely would be picky about what he eats (you would call him chief Ramsay, but that’s a reference he wouldn’t understand).

When Masamune heard his little sister was cooking something for him, he got curious… and also a bit concerned, which is rare coming from him. It probably has to do with the fact that, if he gets concerned about Mitsuhide and Mitsunari eating probably, he gets concerned about you cooking. Still, he will swallow whatever happens to the cake, even if it doesn’t taste good.

Keiji.

Keiji would feign excited when he heard you were baking him something, when in reality he knew you had no experience with cooking. First off, you were way too young to be able to cook well, and he never saw you actually cooking in the kitchen, you aren’t fooling him. He is the kind of big brother who is will be cruelly honest about the cake.

Which will lead into a sibling’s bickering.

Ranmaru Mori.

Ranmaru is naturally a nice person, he wouldn’t have the courage to be honest about the cake, he just can’t imagine his little sister being sad that he didn’t like her surprise. Which is why he had a plan.

In case your cake really was a disaster, he would pretend it was the best thing in the world, Ranmaru is a great actor. After eating, he would secretly eat at least ten peaches to feel better.

Uesugi-Takeda alliance.

Kenshin Uesugi.

Normally Kenshin would be brutally honest about the cake, but when it comes to his little sister… he just can’t be cruel. Now, you were wondering what flavor the cake should be, until you decided to make one of your worst and best decisions of your life.

You made him plum cake, which went surprisingly well! He liked it and was honest about it. The others around were disgusted, though.

Shingen takeda.

His adorable little sister is preparing something for him? He simply couldn’t wait! But then it will hit him… you are still too young and might not know how to cook properly, you will make something coming from your heart but it might be… a mess. He felt conflicted, if it’s bad he should be honest to let you learn from your mistakes, but what if he makes you cry?

He just couldn’t handle it… regardless of how it tasted, shingen would let you know how much he appreciates you. Even though… the cake was salty instead of sweet. He ate every last bite with a tear in his eye.

Yukimura Sanada.

Just like Keiji, he will be brutally honest about his opinion on the cake, and you know it. Which will make you too afraid to bake him a cake, but you will still try doing it. Yukimura will have his expectations low, but he also doesn’t want to make you upset.

The cake turns out to be too liquid, almost like a soup. He will make a weird face but will drink it, his opinion? “It’s not as liquid as it looks like, so… it’s not lower than what i expected.” He was smacked after that.

Sasuke.

Sasuke will feel happy that you want to bake him a cake, though he already predicted a possibility of failure (through his calculations, of course). He had one good thing about his lack of expression… it was easy to hide his dislike for the taste, but you would likely notice he didn’t like it.

He planned ahead and decided to tell you that he was allergic to cake… yeah, not the best excuse, but he tried to use it to not hurt your feelings.

Yoshimoto Imagawa.

It’s not that Yoshimoto is a cruel critic… he is just very honest and therefore is hard to please. He likes sweets, so he would love a cake, but he will judge whatever you make. But different from Keiji and Yukimura, he will have bevway better at comforting you.

Though… he will hide his face with his fan to hide the disgusted face he has while staring at the atrocity you call cake.

Kanetsugu.

He will be brutally honest as well, and it might come off as a bit mean. You just want to make him something special but he won’t hesitate to tell you it’s bad. But Kanetsugu wouldn’t want his little sister to cry, so he would hold back a lot while trying out your cake.

He will look very tortured but won’t tell you the truth.

Lone forces.

Kennyo.

Kennyo might look like the cruel type, but he would be very careful as to not hurt your feelings. He doesn’t like to admit it, but he pampers you a lot, so he doesn’t want to hurt you or make you sad. Kennyo will definitely try out your cake, and force a big smile.

You know he tends to sacrifice himself for others, even in this situation he wants to spare your feelings, so Kennyo will eat the whole thing. You will feel bad but will appreciate it.

Kichou.

Yeah… he will be harder to please. Kichou will already be straight with you and say that you won’t be able to bake a good cake. But in turn, he will help you, which will end up in disaster because he also won’t be able to bake a good cake.

The result? You two got a burned cake.

Motonari Mouri
