I'm back with more Supermassive Retinol Overdose! brainrot (thanks @crimetimesteadicam)
Minor spoilers for Chapter 19
Introducing potentially the world's first acoustic guitar-shakuhachi-grand piano-violin quartet, featuring 4 "royalty free [instrument] music background noise study sleep ambience" tracks that I altered and chopped up like a mad doctor

Audio is from Jigen's Gravestone (listen, I know, but I swear to you I could not find a single clip of Tony Oliver saying "Jigen!" in a suitably dramatic tone of voice anywhere. I did get "My face! Where's my face!" from Cursed Case Scenario but it ended up being too goofy to use lmao)
Ocean audio is my own
So basically, after combing through YouTube and deciding which royalty free tracks I wanted, I downloaded them, converted them to E major and 100 BPM (both chosen arbitrarily), cut them up, and voila!
It was fun! I'm glad I did it! I hope to never do it again!

Summary: Something’s messing with their heads. They're forgetting names, events, and remembering heists that never happened. After Jigen and Lupin both recall something horrendously embarrassing, the gang decides to get to the bottom of it.
Fujiko is missing. Goemon's losing it. Jigen's catching feelings. Lupin falls apart.

I’m still thinking of Lupin recovering physically mentally and emotionally in that one imposter au, does he even remember how to act around everyone anymore
You gotta peel back the layers of the Lupin, to figure out how much of him is years of acting, playing, joking around any defined persona and personality traits, to know what’s left in that kind of situation I think.
And I think, if you’re Lupin, there’s a fear, a realization that deep down, there’s little of substance. Oh, it’s freeing, something he strived for- to be unknowable, uncatchable, to move like water into crowds but make waves wherever he goes, to contort the very concept of himself.
But also, it’s gotta be scary to believe yourself an empty abyss, a husk of a person. Especially when he falls in love with ppl so easily (I don’t just mean romantically). His act that draws people in is what they’re attracted to, so what happens if he no longer has it? If he’s no longer Lupin the third, who is he?

So I was reading @crimetimesteadicam 's Supermassive Retinol Overdose, as you do, and upon reaching the Concert-Hole-Goemon-Winter-Soldier-Yata-do-you-want-a-snowcone scene in Chapter 3 I thought it would make an excellent movie scene. And then I thought "Wait, I can do (something like) that"
So I studied up on gauze pop, missed the point of gauze pop, wrote a gauze-y electro pop song, watched & sampled a bunch of clips of Lupin III, threw everything into a blender, aaaaand made. sort of a. soundtrack? for the chapter?
I call it "Vitamin A." Here it is.

hi everyone! chapter one of my illustrated lupin iii fic is up!
this story is basically just, “the gang becomes increasingly unhinged because they keep going through a time loop: the comic; the fic”
