The joyous tune fills my ears,
But my eyes remain clouded with tears,
For every note that brings me bliss,
A pang of sorrow steals the hiss.
The rhythm bounces in my veins,
But the pain of loss still steps.
The lyrics of the tune so bright,
Remind me of our past delight,
The laughter, love and all the fun,
Now vanished like the setting sun.
The rhythm and the joyful notes,
Make me want to dance and float,
But as I move, it's out of synch,
My heart aches in a way so distinct.
For every time I hear this song,
A part of me sings along,
But the memory of our love awakes,
And I'm left with bitter steps to take.
So I dance with tears in my eyes,
And hold back all the painful sighs,

I basically only use Spotify for writing playlists, so Spotify Wrapped blah blah blah, but I do want to confess to something stupid.
A lot of the time while writing my brain decides that one song is the best background music for the story, so I just loop the song and eventually stop really hearing it. This means that sometimes a song's playing for a while. I don't control the song.
This happened while writing No Name On The Bullet, which is 115k words. Anyway, so that's how I listened to an English cover of an anime intro 562 times over the course of probably a month.
