Day one of drawtober, first prompt was Water!

I wanted to practice drawing/painting water patterns and my subnautica hyperfixation returned so I decided to draw Robin from Subnautica Below Zero

I’m definitely not gonna be doing all the drawings this detailed otherwise there is no way i’ll get through the entire month but i’ll likely fix/finish them (including this one) up after october

compiled all my lightest Subnautica background/character studies, this time for Subnautica: Below Zero for class since they're a bit hard to see. some Penglings and various plant studies this time, I really loved having the game playing while I drew, made me feel like a researcher doing sketches of wildlife.

Chelicerates in the dead zone swim around with rotting wounds, so why not add a reason for that? By secreting acid or gastric juice, the parasite calmly dissolves the shell of these shrimp and gets to the meat, which doesn't heal well

SUBNAUTICA BELOW ZERO SPOILERS!

Finished Subnautica: Below Zero, had to draw some fanart because I think this lad is cool.

Tidbits:

I draw with keyboard and mouse.

Estimated time spent on the art is around 36 hours.

I don't know how to draw backgrounds at all.

The original size of this artwork was 7200 x 10800, but as it was too big I downsized it 50%.

This was the first artwork I've done in this style, as I usually experiment with styles. Also the largest artwork I've done in my life.

Shading is off because I don't know how to shade.

Uhhhhh I wonder who the mystery person is.

I thought the idea was funny but I was pretty artblocked when I made this and I’m still trying to figure out how to draw AL-AN (I might redesign everybody a little to fit my artstyle better, that’s been on the bucket list for a long time though.) so the quality of the art isn’t much better than a storyboard- but just pretend like they’re out in the snow.
