Stuff Is Way is a hilarious song to me. Not because of the song itself but because of the fact that it was a sort of b-side from a 2013 album that no one paid too much attention to. I wasn't a big fan of the song, and I felt like other people sort of felt the same way. Not that it was bad, just alright.

I had a friend I played Minecraft with online who I always wanted to listen to TMBG. He never got into it. And then, two years ago (after having not talked to him in a couple years) he sent me a message saying that he heard that song and that album and loved it, and if I had shown him that, he would have become a fan sooner. I would have never even thought of that song!

Apparently it got used in an AMV or something and got moderately popular on YouTube. It's one of the band's most popular songs on Spotify.

Anyway, the band is releasing an official music video for the song tomorrow. Almost 10 years after it was released. Very funny to me.

i think its pretty fun that tmbg has gotten a good chunk of fans from the song Stuff Is Way getting popular on tiktok however i must be a little bit of a hater about it.

bc to me and other fans we “know” what the song is about (at least a generally accepted view, which i feel is recovering from an accident and having your brain heal from trauma and its disjointed and strange bc well. trauma.) however people who have only heard the beginning part and dont look into it more just label it as silly or kinda goofy. i am rarely a hater about how people enjoy and view music but something about minimizing stuff is way to a “funny quirky so weird sounds” songs makes my eye twitch hahaha

also the way that the nimona movie showed that hate is a taught behavior?? the way that gloreth, the hero worshipped for slaying monsters, was fully accepting of nimona until her mother told her what to believe? until that generational bigotry was passed down? the way the director’s motive wasn’t even power like most evil government figureheads in media, but rather a fear of monsters destroying the kingdom because that hate had been instilled in her too, like it had in gloreth? the way ballister was also indoctrinated into hatred of “monsters” until he was just as outcast as one? because only then was he willing to change and learn?? and how even people with good hearts and good intentions like ballister and ambriosius and even the queen herself are still capable of perpetuating bigotry and unnecessary violence when they don’t take the time to understand or learn about the “others” they supposedly hate????????? i need to lie down
