Business as usual = death. Obviously continuing the system and daily business is harming all of us. Today we strike in solidarity with Palestine to demand an immediate ceasefire.

No more business as usual. We should take a lesson from that quote for our future and to create an sustainable future especially with climate change and the rise in natural disasters. With the rise in injustice. We can make a change.

People in New York City ALONE are forced to pay over 118 MILLION DOLLARS in taxpayer money to fund Israel’s massive violence against the Palestinian people. How much is being spent by YOUR city, instead of serving its citizens? How else could those funds be used? Since October, Israel has murdered 41,000+ Palestinians in Gaza including 15,000+ children with our tax dollars. THIS IS GENOCIDE.

This Tax Day, I demand that the U.S. stops arming Israel & funds what our community really needs, like healthcare, housing, and education. Several organizations are calling for actons in solidarity with people in Gaza on April 15 under the hashtag #Strike4Gaza.

This is a good time to recall how demonstrators shut down a Raytheon arms manufacturing facility last November. They mapped out all the entrances, confidentially arranged for dozens of people to block them all at the start of the workday, and then drew hundreds more to the protest through social media posts.

it’s April 15th, Bisan has called for a strike today! Take the day off work/school if possible, do not make any unnecessary purchases. If you HAVE to make purchases, withdraw cash and avoid using debit/credit cards. Spread the word, speak up about Palestine!

Are there any calls for action that those of us who live in a city that isn’t on the participation list for the economic blockade can do?

I added an addendum to the post basically answering this question bc ppl were raising it in the tags, but to summarize, if you don't see your city you could 1) coordinate with organizers in your city to join the call yourselves; and/or 2) coordinate with a smaller group of trusted friends and take action regardless of whether your city is formally participating. wherever you are, if you've ever thought about creative interventions you could make to disrupt the genocide economy, April 15th is an ideal day to put those ideas into action.

additionally, there's now a call to strike on April 15th, from work and school as well as other economic activities like buying and banking. the call has been endorsed by numerous Palestinian-led organizations:
