What are some of your favourite fantasy maps out there? 🗺️😋
Whether it is for an aesthetic point of view; a lore rich map filled with secrets to explore; or simply a classic nostalgia kick… there are plenty of wonderful and mesmerizing fantasy world maps out there. I’d like to hear or even see some of your favourites! I know it’s hard to choose just one… 😅
And talking about world maps, here’s the full view of Strangehollow, my latest commission map. I had lots of fun drawing all the various locations and this was by far the map with the biggest forest I’ve had the pleasure of creating 🌲🌳😅
You can find many other maps from your favorite fantasy books, movies, games… on the link below! 🗺️ 🧑‍🎨 https://nerdymaps.etsy.com
I hope you all have an amazing day, Arturo from Nerdy Maps ☺️

The second artpromt from Emily Hare and her beautiful fantasy world Strangehollow is the looking tree which make the cover of her first book so stunning. I’m not sure anything actually wants to climb it but according to my pencils something did :) Check out artbyemilyhare!

Young Club-Nosed Dragon by EmilyHare
As an adult, the club-nosed dragon is a bear-sized creature with thick leathery skin that is colourful and iridescent. It likes to prey on deer and has a venomous bite which will send any prey into a deep sleep immediately. It is ill-advised to try to handle any of their offspring if you do come across a nest, since they too are blessed with a soporific bite and it is likely that their parent will return to find a sleeping morsel.
This illustration is one of many which will are in my new book Secrets Of Strangehollow that is currently live on Kickstarter. You can visit the campaign HERE.
Size: 21.2 x 25.3 cm or 8 x 10 inches external measurement of matting. Height of dragon 11.7 cm or 4.6 inches. Painted on Langton watercolour illustration board.

Own Inspirations:Emily Hare
Tumblr media
Emily Hare is an English artist, half of her career so far has involved working for mostly small self publishers and games. She started out by putting on exhibitions of her oil paintings and in 2005 she started illustrations and digital art. in 2015 she went back to traditional art and started a patreon page, which led up to her being an independent artist and spends her full time on her own projects. in 2017 she released her book Strangehollow which consists of her illustrations.

I love her art style, and the creatures that she creates. She often uses a muted  colour palette that I love how the creatures she creates look very innocent and are vey detailed. I love the the concept of her book and the washed out look that all of her pieces have.

I Illustrated Unusual Beasts Inspired By Myths, Legends And Folklore
My name is Emily Hare and I have been in love with myths, legends and folklore my whole life. I spent much of my childhood drawing monsters and dragons and I never grew out of it! For the past year I have been creating my very own fantasy world.
Strangehollow is a huge enchanted forest where you will find all sorts of creatures, some familiar and some which you may never have heard of.

Strangehollow is known for the lush forests extending from the coast to the very edges of the land, a beautiful landscape with thick rain forests, swampy areas and vast grasslands 🌳🌿🌲
