I was looking for how fast/slow these things sell, because... I mean, that looks really, really bad. Is it normal? Horrible? Decent? I think it might be horrible.

ANYWAY...

I was looking for info online and found an article about how 99% of NFT projects fail - and that’s coming from people who are into NFTs. So... seems like epic failure is the norm. Congratulations on not bucking that trend, I guess?

ANYWAY...

I found this part of the article interesting:

Be suspicious of projects from influencers who want a quick cash-grab and set their early NFTs’ floor too high.

Be wary of influencers shilling projects. They’re not doing this from the kindness of their heart. They’re most likely doing it to squeeze every dollar they can get out of every naive social media follower.

Influencers tend to launch their NFTs with crazy-high floor prices. A standard NFT project will allow early adopters to mint the assets for as little as $100. On the other hand, influencer projects can start at several thousands of dollars a pop. Examples include Ashton Kutcher’s StonerCats and Logan Paul’s collection cards.

This leads to huge profits for the influencers, but very limited upside or only losses for their own fans.

That’s because the value of the NFTs hasn’t been proven yet and there’s little room to grow from the floor. Since buyers don’t see incremental price growth, prices tumble down and the community is left holding the bag.

Takeaway: Influencers have motives and they’re not always honest with the fans they exploit. Tread cautiously.

Again, remember: This is from someone who’s into NFTs. This isn’t a naysayer or an anti-NFTer. Even NFT fans would likely consider these NFTs a bad investment aimed at milking fans for money.

That doesn’t mean Colin’s the one doing it. It still (as always) means he likely fell for empty promises himself and (hopefully) didn’t realize that he was signing on to a predatory project.

And as has been mentioned before, there is NO WAY for these NFTs to gain value when the majority OF their value lies in one-time-only real life perks (concert access, dinner with Colin, etc). The value can ONLY go down.

My favorite part of the article was when the guy says his friend said to him, “I have an extra $1k lying around. Should I invest in NFTs?”

Obviously, this is all taking place in an AU I’m not part of 😳
