(2024-05-21) Stanage Edge - walked the full length of Stanage Edge from Hooks car park. Walked to the two trig points at White Path Moss and High Neb. Also included a southern extension to Cowper Stone and a northern extension to Stanage End. Included was a diversion to Stamage Pole. A great walk with better weather than forecast.

Climbing at High Neb and around the area :) first time at this site. Lovely morning but got too windy after lunch. Led a rout called Lost Soul which was a Severe. But it wasn’t the best lead. (2024-03-29 Good Friday on Stanage) Started early as I thought that the crowds would be out. Walked up Stanage, south to north, then back. Started out very misty, cold and windy. Then the sun came out, then it rained. Whilst the sun was out there were some great views over to Kinder and Bleaklow. nd yes I was right - it became very busy.

Some fantastic photos taken by a fellow flying friend Phil on the ground shortly after beginning my second flight from #stanageedge on saturday last. A little while after this I found a booming thermal and took it straight to base at nearly 6000 ft and went off on my 40km journey on the Rise 4 #thermalmonkey. It was such a great flight, filled with strong booming lift, gentle rising bubbles above towns and incredible views flying high above a Cessna, Islander and sail plane while far above Sheffield and Rotherham. I’ll be posting helmet cam photos and videos from this flight for a while I think haha.
