TOA: POST REFORMATION
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even after the reformation of Spherus Magna, a Toa's job is never done. The Toa Nuva, along with the Toa Hagah and Toa Mahri, are among the last of the Toa, and have sworn their lives to protect the people of Spherus Magna.
(Ignore the different arms on the hagah, that render was made pre-arm lengthening)

After thoroughly getting their asses kicked by their fellow toa during their first training sessions, the Toa Kaidra have realized that being a Toa isn't all it's cut out to be. Still, though, they'll push through it.

“Somehow, we'll become Toa.”
Sorry the wait time, life got the better of me, but now I'm able to post this! Hopefully I'll get back on a regular posting cycle soon :)

It's amazing how much you can progress in just two years. Thank you to the wonderful people in the many Bionicle Discord servers, and here on Tumblr, for putting me on this path, and giving me the confidence and skills capable to make these. @vitaevictuals, @ghost-mantis, @toa-kohutti, and many more. You're all truly terrific friends and guides, I couldn't be more grateful.

KAIDRA (4/6)- AKINA (SHE/THEY) The island of Artakha was all the Ga-Matoran known as Akina had ever known. Matoran from all around the Matoran Universe gathered in one place, and home to great artisans, and builders who constructed great wonders in honor of the Great Spirit, and the Three Virtues. Being the sole chronicler of Artakha, Akina's duty was to record these awe-inspiring constructs so that they would be remembered for all eternity.
Due to Artakha being her home for thousands of years, and being around the very best of matoran society, she tended to view herself and those from Artakha as “superior” to other oropi. Akina often acted rather snobbish, though often felt rather lonely as a result of her behavior.
As of the reformation of Spherus Magna, Akina took up a job as a teacher, teaching the young magnans the history of the Matoran Universe. One day, fifty years later, a hooded stranger arrived in her classroom and gifted her a strange stone. Their only request: To travel to the abandoned Great Temple in Metru Nui, the brain of the once colossal titan that she'd called home. There she, along with five other strange matoran, would be transformed into the Toa Kaidra.

The Toa Lords
Tumblr media
(Pictured above: Daimyo Orde of Kahra with his pupil, No-Name, and his Chronicler, Dume)
Before and during the war against the League of Six Kingdoms, the Toa acted quite differently to the way we know them today. Instead of being keepers of the peace, and the heroes that we know them as, many Toa sought to rule and subjugate entire lands, unrestrained by any rules of conflict or conduct. These Toa Lords would rule over their lands, often acting as oppressive tyrants.
It was only during the League War that the first Toa Teams were founded, and the code implemented to reduce their capacity for destruction. Many Toa Lords, like Orde, the Daimyo or Kahra, saw this as an affront to their way of life, and thus took up arms soon thereafter the League were defeated.

KAIDRA (6/6) — TILA (SHE/HER)
There's no denying the fact that the Onu-Matoran known as Tila was large for a matoran. A fact in which helped her free her fellow matoran from slavers in the remote, mountainous regions of the Southern Continent. She and her people rose up against their captors, and drove them out. Once the dust had settled, and the matoran were free, they began setting up their own small village, making Tila as their village protector. As they had never seen a toa, or turaga, her and her fellow villagers saw them as little more than myth.
As the village's protector, Tila was known for her strength, and her courage, something she, self-admittedly, let go to her head. While her ego and vanity were not unbearable, she was often one to boast, often to cover up for self-doubt and fear. Fear of their captors returning, or something far worse… Tila was custom to all manner of things: Strange, hostile rahi that roamed too close for comfort, or the occasional bandit or two, sure, but nothing could have prepared her for the eventual arrival of Exo-Toa or Rahkshi squadrons that roamed the Southern Continent's countryside.
When Makuta Teridax took control over Mata Nui's body, and plunged the universe into darkness, Tila's primary goal was, as always, to keep her people safe. But she and the village leaders knew they would not be safe sitting in-place, waiting for some mythical heroes to arrive. No, they had to move, and be on the move constantly to avoid detection. Using the old mining tunnels dotting the nearby countryside, Tila's village moved around for what seemed like months on end. They only moved out onto the surface when a tremor of such intensity that it matched the one 100 years prior, when Mata Nui fell into his slumber, could be felt. Once on the surface, they felt a sudden shift in the wind, a change in the universe… Whatever had corrupted their universe had passed.
After encountering a few stragglers while on the move, they'd learned the truth: That a Makuta had taken control of the universe, had been defeated, and that the Toa were, in fact, real. Not only that, they were helping the denizens flee to some-place else. After following them for days on end, they finally reached the surface of Spherus Magna, exiting through an opening in the titanic robot's body. Once there, after processing the shocking and world-shaking revelation, Tila and her people got to work helping others adjust.
Fifty years after Teridax's defeat, and the creation of the city of New Atero, Tila decided to settle down and open up a market in New Atero's city center. Yet this period of relative calm and peace would soon be uprooted by the arrival of a hooded figure. They gave her a strange, glowing purple stone, and who told her to return to the corpse of the colossal machine she once called home. Once there, in the ruins of Metru Nui's great temple, she was transformed into a mighty, and powerful Toa of Earth, and would join the Toa Kaidra along with the other five matoran who had been in the temple.
(Sorry for the late post, totally didn't forget this place, you know how things are >.>)

INTRODUCING THE BIONICLE SQUAREDVERSE
The SquaredVerse is a quasi-AU set in the Bionicle universe that, frankly, I only made to make the universe more consistent, and less mind-bogglingly fuckhuge in scale, as well as giving concrete dates, and statistics. The SquaredVerse, for the most part, follows the Bionicle storyline beat-per-beat, with some somewhat minor changes to the lore and story.
MAJOR CHANGES
Reduced the size of the Great Spirit Robot to 2,250 kilometers/2,250,000 meters (or 1,398 miles/7,381,440 feet).
Reduced the timeline scale from 100,000 to around 2,000 years.
Added a calendar system with days and months (with some assistance by @outofgloom for the names of the days).
Added concrete ages to the Glatorian and Agori characters.
No more gendered elements.
Love is canon, but the oropi have no idea what love is, they just know they sometimes feel closer than usual to others. (eat my ass, Greg).
The Great Beings have both Skrall and Agori within their ranks now.
The official name for the Glatorian species is Beltori.
The races of the Matoran Universe will be using the names created by the lovely people at @redstarforge.
The average magnan lifespan is around 1,000 years
Clothing for matoran (stuff like hats, goggles, eyeglasses, cloaks, hoods, shawls, etc.)
Anyone who has a suggestion, don't be afraid to slip it into my DMs and we can discuss it! I plan on releasing an official timeline soon

The Fall of the Toa Lords
Tumblr media
It did not take long for the combined forces of the Order of Mata Nui, the Brotherhood of Makuta, and these new Toa Teams, formed out of necessity by the League War, to take down Orde's Rebellion. As the rebellion faltered, Daimyo Orde's own protégé, a young Toa of Fire, along with Helryx, Toa of Water and the leader of the Order of Mata Nui, fought against the Daimyo for days on end within his own palace. By the end of it all, fires raged across the compound, water flooded the lower levels, and every blade in the palace had been broken.
In the end, Orde was defeated and stripped of his status as Toa Lord. His own mace was taken by the Order of Mata Nui's leader, and the young Toa of Fire was gifted the role of the leader of his own Hagah team by Commander Teridax. A new era had begun for the Matoran Universe, one where the Toa would be seen universally as valiant heroes rather than despotic rulers.

KAIDRA (3/6)- TABER (HE/HIM)
Originally hailing from the city of Metru-Kofo on the Northern Continent, Taber spent most of his time, like many Le-Matoran, working as much as he played. While originally serving as an airship pilot, he soon realized his true talent as an athlete, quickly picking up and mastering the sport of Komutaka. Taber quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming a regional champion, before moving onto the new (at least for him) sport of Kolhii after being evacuated to Spherus Magna.
Taber's athletic talent is only his second most-recognized trait, his first being his ego. To put it bluntly, Taber's mouth writes checks his mask can't cash. He will often gloat about his looks and his superior skills, often frustrating and annoying those around him, even going as far as to bully those “beneath” him. Though, much of this showboating and narcissism hid Taber's feelings of inadequacy.
Half a century after Teridax's defeat, and the reformation of Spherus Magna, Taber was lauded as New Atero's Kolhii champion, even beating former champion Hewkii's record. He would eventually be approached by a hooded figure, and given a strange green stone, and would be told to travel to the corpse of the Great Spirit Robot, to the dilapidated Great Temple of Metru Nui. It is here where Taber, along with 5 other matoran, would be transformed into a Toa, and form the Toa Kaidra.
