"Daniel, stop. Think about the things I could show you- the doors I could open for you! You, Danny Phantom, and I- Vlad Plasmius. Together, we could rule."
So @speedsketch literally made me a custom Vlad Plasmius Funko Pop for my birthday. And I have NOT stopped geeking out about it.
Since I wasn't able to sleep yesterday, I sat in on rinotuna 's twitch stream to watch them continue working on an in-progress project. Eventually they switched over to doing speed sketches and I decided to follow along on my end. I haven't done speed sketches in forever, so keeping up was definitely difficult, but I managed. I did change a couple things to my own vision, but otherwise I had copied verbatim in order to get my eyes, brain, and hand to coordinate with each other.
omg sorry if this is a dumb question but i love your art and adore how you draw trolls especially with their cute peets and tails ;w; can you tell/show how you draw closed-toe shoes for them? whenever i try to draw that for digitigrade characters it looks very awkward and it's super hard to find non open-toed shoe references and you're the first person i've come across who does them :sob emoji:
Thank you sm!! And I actually can give you a video too! I usually draw a base for the peet! When theyre open toed shoes I usually draw the toes first then the shoe. But with the close toed shoes I dont bither going in detail with the actual peet.
I draw their shoes usually with somewhat of a flexible fabric material with a spandev type of stretch with leather/metal/plastic/rubber built into it for protection and possible accessories.
This video shows me sketching out the peet base in the beginning. I made a copy because I'm making two examples. In this example You see me sketch the toes and the open toed show design. At 0:41 I start to draw the close toed shoe where I do not bother with detailing on the peet.
To be honest there isn't a specific way I draw the shoes I just go into it till i like it and the design LOL
