Something noticed is many not opened to questions. Because see question and want automatically believe is someone being rude/ disrespectful/not listening. But that’s not always the case. Can respect something and still not understand and want to ask questions.
Some learn by questions, but when can’t ask questions, how expect them to learn? Sometimes just listening to what others have to say isn’t enough. Some people need to have the ability to ask questions to actually understand, yet when they try and get hate for it, they can’t actually learn nothing. And for some, not being able to learn and understand also means not being able to accept.
I’ve noticed this problem more in autistics n those with language processing disorders. And I’ve talked to some who agree. Yes hearing those questions can be annoying, but their helpful. If it’s a commonly asked question, can redirect them to the answer. Or suggest someone who yk is willing to answer those questions. Even if blocking or being rude seems easier, it’s not the actual answer. It helps no one.

Everyone love autism until the person needs someone to remind them or help do things like bathe, change clothes, and use the bathroom.
Everyone love autism until they need to be told what to do in social interactions and still can’t do it correctly.
Everyone love autism until they can’t communicate in the way you deem appropriate. Until they need other ways to communicate because they can’t verbally do it. They love autism until they can’t communicate even if they have aac. until they have NO (no) ways to communicate because they don’t understand they can.
Everyone loves autism until they can’t sit down and stop moving. Until they grunt or moan or make random sounds. Love until moves around and not even realize that their moving.
Everyone loves the idea of autism until it’s not level one low support needs. And not fair that high support needs, medium support needs, level 3, level 2 autistics get so much hate for things can’t help. They should still be loved!

Geniuenly like. So many people claim support disability. But then say something completely untrue
Y’all support autism? So what about when the person has intellectual disability or need help walk talk eat bath use bathroom? Does your support end when you see someone with higher needs?? Someone who actually genuinely won’t survive without support from others n that support is sometimes having other people do everything for them.
Y’all support depression? What about when the person can’t bring themself to get out of bed for days on end? What about when that person goes days weeks months without cleaning self because can’t get up even though need to?
Yall support schizo-spec disorders & psychosis? What about what the person get violent because of their delusions n hallucinations? The ones know are fake but still can’t help but believe in? The ones genuinely believe in their delusions/ hallucinations? What about the ones don’t don’t get violent to self n other because of the disorder? Those that just sit scared about the hallucinations n delusions. The ones that won’t leave their room/ house out of fear of their delusions/ hallucinations?
Y’all support those with physical disabilities? What about the housebound bedbound ones? The ones need gait trainers walkers wheelchairs? What about the ones who full time users? Or the ones that need power chairs to independently move around? What about the ones crying screaming throwing up from their pain?
What about the disabled that always have a horrible attitude because tired of yhr disrespect? Tired of having to explain everything about them to everyone even if personal? Tired being told get over it n just educate others?
The disabled ones tired telling people not use certain terms. Tired of being spoken over n for without being thought about or asked. Tired of hearing their communication isn’t valid for ‘xyz’
Y’all support but act very picky about who deserves support and who’s not worthy of it. It’s not support if you pickin n choosing

Stimming doesn’t always = distressed. Bodily stims doesn’t always means need fidget toys.
Some days want rock and hand flap and vocal stims. Some says want tangle or fidget spinner or sensory slug.
Yes body stims can = shutdown, near meltdown. But doesn’t always. Can mean want to, or under stimulated, or need regulate.
Don’t always need stop or suppress bodily stims, personally find more helpful then fidget toys and know many that feel same way.
They (fidgets) amazing especially if need hide stims. But many don’t need want able to. Instead trying normalize fidgets for stims, understand bodily stims okay and real thing and not always need be stopped.

The idea that aac fixes everything for everyone is kinda annoying. Because most nonverbal nonspeaking semiverbal people’s speech problems root further from just verbal voice.
Not understanding have right communicate. Not understanding how work. Not understanding how to say what feel or want or think. Not understanding certain words or phrases so say one thing and mean another. Many have speech or communication disorders, it’s not just the inability to speak, aac won’t fix everything for everyone.
Even if some get aac, an option to communicate, they just can’t. Sometimes no matter how much want to, just can’t.

So many people still seem confused.
It’s a privilege to mask. Not a good one, but you have an advantage over those of us who either can’t anymore or could never in the first place.
As someone who used to have the ability to mask, you get more opportunities when they can’t tell or get an idea on your autism. I could do a lot more, had more chances before stopped being able to mask (or unmask on my terms)
The ability to willingly unmask is a privilege. Not everyone got that choice. Some people decided to just be themselves when they was ready. Not everyone got the decision.
The ability to freely stim is a privilege. This is something people really don’t wanna hear but it is one. I stim and people think I’m about to fight someone. That I’m a violent person and it needs to be stoped. I watch the white kids stim and everyone encourages it. We do the same thing. We both rock, we both flap our hands and arm, we both jump when excited.
Their stimming is seen as a need to self regulate
Mines is seen as a act of violence that needs to be stoped. That’s a privilege.
I can’t stim without the possibility of being told to stop or leave the room because it’s “obvious” I’m ready to punch someone. I can’t stim without knowing someone is worried I’m ready to attack, ready to just jump on them. I have to result to stim toys when I need bodily stims while the white kids can choose which they want. Look and me and tell me that’s not privilege.
It’s okay to be upset at these things. But understand your position is one of a privilege not everyone has.

One reason don’t joke about autism is because don’t want be seen as joke.
Not funny not able regulate emotions. Not funny having difficulties with social interaction. Not funny need people already know around help socialize and make new friends. Not funny that at current age still need supervision going places.
Not funny that put life in danger because low environment awareness and sense of danger. Not funny know possibility never able live alone. Or go college. Or even walk to park that barely 5 minutes away from house.
It’s not funny that small things have me breaking down, crying, yelling, hitting myself and others. It’s not funny that a small change of plans will ruin my whole mood. Not funny that make random faces, don’t notice am making them, and get yelled at for face.
Not saying don’t have good autism traits. But if joke about good ones, others won’t take my bad one’s seriously.

Autism is disability. Autism is disability. Autism is disability. Autism is disability
If autism doesn’t disable you, then most likely not autism. By definition, it disables or impair your day to day life. Doesn’t matter how big or little, is disabled.
Can call autism neurotype. But if say only neurotype and not disability, then you erase experiences, especially of those with medium/ high support needs and level2/level 3 ASD
Autism is disability. Always has been, always will. Stop saying isn’t one. Wrong wrong wrong when say!

“I’ll die for you” “I’ll kill for you “. Will you change for me? Will you work on being a Better person for me?
Will you understand my disabilities effect every little thing about Me? Will you accept and love me for me?
I don’t want you to die for me, or kill for me. I want you to actually be with me. Change, adapt, understand. That’s actually love, you can die and kill for anyone, you can’t try to change for anyone.

It’s okay to like children shows. It’s okay to like shows you don’t actually understand. It’s okay to like/watch a show for one specific character.
You like what you like, don’t feel ashamed because of that. And don’t let the reason you feel ashamed be because of other people. Don’t let they have that type of say in your life

Yes. Some autistics are violent. Some autistics self harm. Some have harmful stims. Some are dangerous to self n others. Some are mean.
No we’re not all kind in sweet. No autism isn’t always easy to deal with. But you know what? We still deserve respect n kindness n we still have feelings. Yes we can be dangerous, but there’s a reason behind that even if can’t explain. Yes we can harm ourselves but usually because need stim or don’t know how else deal with emotions. Yes some mean to others because generally don’t know what nice behavior looks like or don’t understand are being mean.
How can you look at me n say we don’t still deserve support? Sorry sometimes hard deal with hard take care of hard support hard be around. Genuinely understand is hard but no reason be rude.
Assume they can understand. Can understand hurting others. Understand other ways deal with emotions. Other ways to treat people. Ways to not put others in danger. Because so many times not that don’t understand, but no way show understand.
And even if they genuinely can’t understand, still deserve respect. Kindness love being treated like have feelings because do. No matter the diagnosis still have feelings n thoughts n deserve the same respect give to the able bodies neurotypical people. Or the people with diagnosis but not as severe or bad or unbearable be around

My autism experience
Part one: race
My experience with autism is different. Not only because every autistic person is different, but because I’m a poc and appear feminine.
It’s not even female autism but more like. Am black and female, they don’t often think it could be autism, but more like stubborn and defiant. Like shyness and anxiety when it’s obvious autism signs and has been pointed out many times.
And then there people who still don’t think females or black peoples even able have autism; still think is only white people thing. And many gotten better with understanding females can have autism, but they still only think when white.
And when say white don’t mean race. I mean skin color. Appear white, can’t tell is different race. And am not saying white people (boy and girls) can’t be told not have autism even if obviously do. I saying how and why work completely different.
Even when actually talking about race. Can be pet black and that be whole reason why couldn’t possibly have autism.
TL;DR: autism doesn’t have a race. But poc are more likely to be told couldn’t have because race and or skin color

Happy holidays to everyone!
Even the ones who elope. The ones who have to leave the room because become overwhelmed & overstimulated. The ones who need to move and fidget or use fidget toys.
Even the ones who need other forms of communication like AAC or sign language. Or just can’t communicate at all even if need or want to.
Even the ones who need/have mobility aids. The ones who use wheelchairs because walking isn’t possible/ cause to much pain. The ones who used canes or forearm crutches for extra support. The ones with walkers, rollator and gait trainers.
Even the ones who need help eating or using the bathroom. Who need to be watched 24/7 because otherwise would have life at risk. The ones who needs help opening presents.
Even the ones who can’t eat the dinner. The ones who have feeding tubes. The ones who have to many sensory issues revolving around food. And even the ones with eating disorders!
Even if you have chronic pain or fatigue. Or a chronic illness that makes it so can’t do anything even if really want to.
Happy holidays to all! Or a good day if don’t celebrate!!

Poc also use AAC. Even if not seen often, even if not talked about often. Even if not many know what is. We can use AAC, some of us do use AAC.
Even if more used by white people, even if most POC don’t use still need option for darker skin color. And this include in free versions. Shouldn’t have pay get option similar my skin color. Am not a male bald white kid. I’m black I’m female I have textured hair. I use AAC like the other kids.
Also need include different hair options. Even if need keep simple so not so expensive. Atleast give hair options not bald. Atleast pony tail or bun.
Love use AAC but IS discouraging have change everything to somewhat be personal to self.

Think sometimes people forget stims not all good.
Sometimes hand flapping and rocking and stimming is problem. Sometimes do need to be stoped
Sometimes rocking includes hitting head on wall which turn into head banging for stim. Sometimes hand flapping turns into hitting wether self or others.
Sometimes using fidget turns into throwing and using to hit others.
In a way, when think of stims only want admit good ones. So when people say stims are harmful get hate and told wrong and to just shut up. But stims not only good.
Stimming can be nice and happy. But stims also include those that hurt self and others. The ones that are painful and dangerous and need intervention.
I rock and hand flap and spin to be happy. But I also head bang and hair pull and pinch and hit in attempt to stim.
Please don’t forget the harmful bad stims when talking about them. Not all good helpful no need stop
