Felt randomly compelled to sketch some SparkNeedle (NeedleSpark??? Idk).

I remember reading AVOS for the first time and thinking “wow these two have a fun competitive dynamic, can’t wait to see where it goes!”

Nowhere. It goes nowhere and Sparkpelt becomes irrelevant by the second book, what an absolute waste.

Don’t get me wrong I love Alderheart so much but Avos should’ve had Needletail and Sparkpelt as the protags.

Sparkpelt is immediately given a lot of expectations. She’s the kit of a deputy and leader, with her grandpa being like clan Jesus and her looking exactly like him. She pushes herself too hard, tries to be the best, and has a lot of emotional problems bc she doesn’t take the time to care for herself or her mental health. She puts everyone over herself.

Needletail is the opposite. Almost as soon as she’s a apprentice everyone thinks she’s a failure. She is too adventurous, snappy, and scrappy as well as being lazy when it comes to tasks she doesn’t want to do. She also doesn’t lay down and give in, fighting against authority and her parents a lot.

While Spark is the royal daughter Needle is the kid in the ditch. Spark leaves to find freedoms away from the constant stress she’s under and Needle runs to get out of the glares she always gets.

piggybacking off of the. Wlw anon, a lot of the popular wlw wc ships aren't. Good. ? Or maybe I have high standards but like ivyblossom?? Blossomfall. Does NOT like ivypool, yeah they had that heart to heart but that's like it

Bluestar and yellowfang is good! But. People mostly use it to bring up fireheart! I'm not saying it's bad, not at all, but everytime I see blueyellow art it's . Firestars moms! I dunno maybe I'm crazy

Ivypool and Blossomfall bonding over having the weakest motivations lol but i do like them as a toxic couple, digging into each other and dragging each other down and making each other worse. I think it's built on them having some friendship in the DF and it's worth acknowledging that I can't blame people for wanting someone for Ivypool to pair up with who shared her experience and feelings.

Bluestar and Yellowfang is cute too, I think I get the appeal of old lady yuri and giving Firestar two moms. Idk no strong feelings on that. I get why maybe the lack of meat to it that Mothpool has may not lead people to engage with it

idk i said it before but i feel like WC just refusing to engage with its female characters and letting them interact with one another (needlepaw taking jabs at sparkpaw for literally no fucking reason other than the authors expect the reader to hate her....sparkneedle shippers u are the bravest soldiers). but then again, people will latch onto typically male bg characters and pump them full of character and hcs soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ok so basically

bramblestar still asks jessy to stay in thunderclan, but she says haha no, loser, i'm taking your wife and leaving.

Squirrelflight is also pregnant when this happens, so she and jessy leave.

leafpool, jayfeather and lionblaze are offended and angry bc she left them again. you can guess who the angriest is.

she gives birth to four kits, but like in canon, Dandelion and Juniper die. Squirrelflight blames herself, and each day goes hunting for longer.

Alder starts having visions, they follow the sun trail

And find skyclan

When pebbleshine is hunting, spark gets carried away with her

She takes care of twig and violet

But shes feeling p salty bc her family hasnt found her and doesnt seem to care

When darktail comes, spark joins him, and she and needletail have an intense rivalry and end up beating each other up a bit.

sparkneedle as well btw

Spark is a bit of a mother figure for twigkit and needle is a mother figure for violet.
