Anyway official / unofficial list of S4 predictions because I’m feeling particularly unhinged but also like “Oh yeah, it’s all coming together” so

Karim is a traditionalist who will disapprove of having a human queen. He’ll call a gathering of the Six Horns and lead a rival campaign for the throne, but he also doesn’t want anything bad to happen to his sister, someone gets injured and possibly healed with Light mode (healing version of Heat mode) and the two siblings reconcile.

Upon reaching Katolis, Zym and Zubeia will notify Ezran that not all dragons are particularly pleased in the peace established with Katolis / the tentative Pentarchy, particularly Sol Regem (who Karim and some Sunfire elves may be rallying around). Ezran and Zym (+ Soren as bodyguard and maybe Corvus) seek out Rex Igneous either for sway or for information - or for sway and then stumble across some information, possibly related to Aaravos.

Viren (and possibly Terry) will begin to doubt Aaravos’ plans and motives outright. Claudia charges on at full speed after all the time/energy she’s poured into this, desperate to save her father, while Viren begins to question if he should be saved, re-evaluating his old fallen goals and that Aaravos may be something they should keep contained, rather than unleash on the world (after all, before hand Aaravos was ‘prioritizing’ all of Viren’s goals).

While Viren and Callum will parallel each other greatly, and they will all mingle together, Viren and Rayla’s mirrored arc will be about doubt, and Callum and Claudia’s will be about determination. This will culminate in Callum, Rayla, and Viren all ‘failing’ to a degree (even if Rayla and Callum successfully reunite/protect each other) while Claudia and Aaravos succeed. Moreover, it further ties Viren&Rayla as being “already dead” while Callum&Claudia are determined to keep them alive, for better or for worse. It will also tether Viren and Callum in opposition, where Viren starts to fear for protecting the world / Claudia from Aaravos, whereas Callum will put the world at risk for Rayla’s life.

Cube hostage exchange theory. Shouldn’t have to be said at this point with the amount of foreshadowing, structural patterns, and other narrative graces, but still not a surefire thing (of course). However, slots in nicely with all the other developments.

Janai, Karim, Rayla, Ezran, Callum, and Claudia all contributing to unravelling the Mystery of Aaravos. For Janai and Karim, they want to know how their sister and grandmother actually died. For Ezran, it could be Zubeia (as Avizandum imprisoned Aaravos in the first place) and Rex Igneous. For Rayla, Aaravos may be known by a moniker, as Runaan absolutely and her parents seemingly knew exactly what the mirror was. For Claudia and Callum, they will likely get the chance to converse with Aaravos most directly; for Claudia, it may be Aaravos’ future plans, and for Callum, we may get pieces of the more sympathetic parts of his backstory.

A random headcanon: I feel like he rly overcompensates with the whole warrior jock archetype and that he rly wants to learn how to do other things, like gardening or sewing, but is at the point where he doesn’t know how to ask

General Opinion over said character: tbh I wish his paralysis was a bigger deal and that it was a disability he learned to work with, I disliked the narrative that he was healed miraculously? Also im GAY AS FUCK for him he’s such a himbo

Favorite quotes from each episode season 1

1: Echos of Thunder (first of all- the more you think of it, the more chilling this episode title is)

-"In the old times, there were only the six primal sources of magic: The Sun. The Moon. The Stars. The Earth. The Sky. And The Ocean."

What a way to set up the world. Just enough information to explain that there is a magic system, but it doesn't infodump you with rules. Also the animation timing and Aaravos narrating makes it an amazing shot.

-(after Callum stops Claudia from running into a tree) "You're no fun"

This depiction of siblings is just so accurate.

-"You let him live, but you've killed us all."

This sent chills down my spine the first time and all the times after that. It reminds me so much of the Trolly problem. Sparing Marcos is a great way to introduce Rayla, but it led to her teammates getting killed and her father figure being captured.

2: What is done

-"I brought you because you're talented. Maybe the fastest and strongest of any of us. But it takes more than that. There's an instinct. A moment of truth. And in that moment, you hesitate."

This is another that really brings out Rayla's characterization without showing you much. It tells you very well that she is able to fight, but not willing to kill.

-"Yesterday, I had two eggs for breakfast and I was starving. Today I had four eggs and I'm stuffed. So, tomorrow-" "Three eggs, I get it. We don't need to talk." "I was going to say two eggs and one sausage."

Come on. This was hilarious. Also- the introduction of female side characters just being there instead of a bunch of copy-paste male guards.

-"There are centuries of history. Generations of wrongs and crimes. On both sides. I am responsible for some of those wrongs."

Enter the grey morals of the world. There is no clear cut good and evil. Just a war because both sides believe the other is in the wrong.

-"I am Prince Ezran."

Callum! Loves! His! Brother!

3: Moonrise

-"If I told you, you would try to stop me." "So, shouldn't I just try to stop you then, even without knowing?" "Goodbye, Claudia"

This is literally the one scene that makes me question if something happened to him when he talks to Viren. Before, he was decent, even with deranged morals. After, though, he is just evil.

-"It's not a weapon. It's an egg!"

This brilliantly show the difference in how the elves and humans view dragon. The humans see them as weapons because dragons defended the border against them. The elves see them as just other creatures because dragons worked with them.

-"But if today is my last day as king, you will know your place."

Before, I saw Harrow as the wise king (especially because he was able to admit his mistakes in ep 2). But here, you can see that he is also powerful, someone you do not want to mess with.

-"I will kill you." "Probably."

Rayla rushing into battle to protect the princes? Yes please! (I would say to protect the egg, but Runaan would not have hurt the egg)

-"Say the word and I'll go back into that tower with you"

You mean, the exact moment I fell for Rayllum?

4: Bloodthirsty

-"Unbind yourself! Unbind... thyself. UNBINDO!"

Rayla you dork. (Also this quote was my first popular tumblr post, so it has a special place in my heart)

-"It is tradition to mourn fallen kings for seven sunsets. You've not even given him one."

Evil Viren... begins. Also Opeli is an amazing minor character.

-"Just no more detours, all right? Or heartfelt speeches."

Rayla was trying to kill Callum one day ago, and is now listening to him? Putting herself in danger for him? I love them so much

-"I don't believe in locks"

GREAT introduction for Amaya, I love her. Also, the way Gren said it with such enthusiasm even though he did have to makes me so happy!

-(in ASL) "He says, if we don’t let you go, you'll kill them and drink their blood"

This was pretty heartless of Callum. But it got them out of that situation I guess. But like, poor Rayla.

-"You called me a bloodthirsty monster. You have no idea how that feels." "But I don’t actually believe any of that."

It was still heartless, Callum. I'm glad this conversation took place though, it allows Callum to understand why what he did was wrong.

5: An Empty Throne (I'd like to start by saying this is by far my favorite episode)

-"Know what? I'm just gonna throw it." "What? No!" "Yeah, I'm gonna throw you the Primal Stone."

Is Callum channeling Sokka here or something? (Also this foreshadows the finale)

-"What? I have nice legs."

Ezran you are adorable!

-"Are you, like, this black-flippin', tree-climin', sword stabbin' elven worrior, but scared of a little splish-splashin'?"

Rayla: Nooo! that's what I'm sensitive about!

-"I am a servant of Katolis! I am a servant!" "Those are awfully nice clothes for a humble servant, Viren."

You tell him, Amaya! What a way to shut down Viren! I'm here for sassy Amaya.

-"I admit it. I hate water. I'm afraid of it. It makes me sick. All of the bad feelings."

I just love how Rayla decides she can tell Callum and Ez these things. She trusts them so much I-- I love her so much.

-"Come on, Rayla, do it for the frog. The grumpy frog that hates you."

Rayla protecting Bait for Ezran! Even though she is afraid! How can you not say that is cute!

-Amaya's sign language to the statue and Gren

You don’t have to know exactly what she is saying to know what she is saying. I love the show for being able to convey that so well.

-(kicks boat away) "Goodbye, boat."

Callum respecting Rayla's fear? I'm here for it!

6: Through the Ice

-"They're not prisoners. They choose to Travel with me."

I know no one is going to believe her, but it is true. Also, I believe this sentence is why Corvus doesn't attack them again and instead helps. He decided to watch them and see if it was true.

-"You are to return with the terrible news that both the princes have died."

Aka the exact moment Viren became an irredeemable villan to me.

-"I'm habsolutly hurious."

Rayla has my exact sense of humor! I laugh so hard at this every time!

-"if you have to choose, choose the egg"

Viren was already irredeemable. This just dug the ditch deeper.

-"Because it has to come from you. Human Princes, returning the egg to the Dragon Queen. That's the gesture that matters. That could end the war, and change the world."

This is so true. Rayla doesn't want to be a hero, she wants this war to end. Just like Callum.

-"He'll get it. He'll save the egg. We have to believe in him... He's brave and strong. He can do this."

This is so wholesome. Rayla believes in Ez so much! I love how there is no bias of 'hes just a kid.' He is capable in Rayla's eyes.

7: The Dagger and the Wolf

-"She's beautiful. She's your mother?"

Rayla simultaneously hints that she is bi and flirts with Callum. Indirectly calling him beautiful. (I don’t care if it is a reach).

-"Get ready to meet... Human!Rayla!"

Rayla is such a dork oh my gosh.

-"If I fail, I don’t know what dad will do to me!"

I feel so bad for Soren. This, to me, solidify that Claudia is the favorite.

-"You're one of them!"

Hearing a human call elves 'them' hit me so hard.

-"Just take the dagger! Don't hurt me, please!" "I'm not going to hurt you. And I'm not going to steal from you, either."

I was hoping this would make dagger guy rethink his beliefs.Unfortunately, he raised a mob instead.

-"If only... I weren't... so muscular."

Soren, I love you.

8: Cursed Caldera

-"Wait I've got it! Flash! Woof! Whoosh! Slish-Slash!"

This was big Sokka energy don’t lie.

-"No way. That won't work. This is my slish hand." "Uh, really?" "No, not really, dummy."

Callum having to clarify if she was joking or not gave me life.

-I'm going to have a whole post about the children encouraging Callum and Rayla.

-"That mirror? You have found something worse that death."

This foreshadows Aaravos, sure. But it also foreshadows how potentially powerful/dangerous he really is. And we haven't seen Aaravos in action all that much!

9: Wonderstorm

-"You might say it's... the Kaltallest."

Puns! I love Puns!

-"I'm sorry I didn't believe you."

Callum admitting he was wrong says so much about their relationship. And the jerkface dance! Callum is willing to do it even if he was embarrassed!

-"I know what I have to do."

Callum gave up his magic for the egg! After an entire season of him being excited to be a mage, this honestly surprised me. His sacrifice is huge.

also general amaya?? her primary 'weapon' is a shield and i Love how that puts emphasis on her need to protect others first and foremost

plus amaya is badass asian deaf representation!!!!

the storytelling in tdp is so fluid and dynamic you almost don't realize that one story is told from multiple different perspectives

also the scenery??? the colours??? absolutely gorgeous

callum and ezran have such a strong relationship as siblings,,, like they recognize faults, apologize, are openly playful and affectionate, get u a brother like these two i swear

whats your opinion on the theory that callum will injure/kill soren (depending on how dark the show wants to go) based on the fake stabbing in ep 1 with claudia watching and her being told to let him die to get the egg

i went in a too serious direction with this so i deleted everything and i’m going forward lightheartedly! to be honest i do think this is a stretch! callum is too young to be hurting (whether or not directly) an adult/another child (depending on how you want to look at soren). and in all likelyhood claudia will choose her brother over the already hatched egg. it’s just how siblings are , (it’ll be interesting if it does happen - that the moment is a symbolism of claudia and soren refusing to be obedient to their father anymore, and joining the C.R.E.w (callum, rayla, ezran)!

anyways this is a cursed ask i gain 10 years of bad energy for reading this

A group of super powered adopted siblings face off against the one brother they thought didn't have any powers, but ended up having the most powers of all, in an effort to stop the apocalypse.

A poster fell to the ground, advertising “Callum Dark, Performance Art Exhibition.”

The Dark siblings stepped over it, one after the other, passing the fleeing guests who had come to see the performance. They felt the rumblings from inside the studio. They filed in one by one, taking in the image before them.

Callum slashed his brush across the canvas like a knight with a sword. It splattered on a line joining the many other colors caught on the fabric, an array of pain and anger as a lifetime of degradation by his father, his brothers, his sisters, all unfurled at the same time.

The paint that didn’t attach itself flung through the air, a whirlwind of liquid daggers swirling around Callum. “All the colors of the wind, huh?” Ezran said with a grin to his siblings.

Ellis, still looking younger than all her siblings despite living a longer life, pulled out a gun. “His power is growing,” She said, “We have to take him down, to stop the apocalypse.”

Claudia put a hand on the gun, pushing it down. She shook her head, unable to say her objections out loud. “Claudia, he nearly killed you,” Soren said, but Claudia just continued shaking her head. Soren flexed his muscles, “First one who gets to him gets to decide, then.”

Rayla drew her knives. Claudia looked to Ezran feeling helpless. Ezran swallowed, and turned to a spot the others couldn’t see.

The blue scale ghost of their long dead brother nodded at him. “I think I can hold back the attacks,” Ezran said.

Soren scoffed, “This isn’t the time, Ezran,” he said, “Just stay back.” Soren, Ellis, and Rayla rushed forward, trying to get through and stop Callum.

Soren went with the direct approach, rushing through and taking the paint weapons head on. The paint splattered his coat, and he flinched as they seemed to physically cut through him. Soon he was on his knees, all his muscles unable to fight off the attack.

Rayla went through with more stealth, dodging the paint splatters as they came at her like weapons. She flipped and twirled and even cut at the paint like it was arrows being shot at her. It wasn’t arrows, though. It was liquid, and could re-form at the end of her knife. Soon she was pinned to the wall.

Ellis used her teleportation, riding on her wolf-steed, trying to get directly next to Callum and shoot him. Her bullets ricocheted off the streaks of paint in the air. It only got denser as she approached Callum, too dense to get through. As soon as she appeared beside him, she got pushed back as well, her wolf whimpering and running away, the gun in her hand flying off.

Ezran watched in panic as his siblings went down one by one. He didn’t know if he could do this...but Zym believed in him. He concentrated with all his might, and soon his hands glowed with blue flame. Claudia’s jaw dropped as Zym appeared beside him, just as much of a beast as he had been before he died.

Zym opened his mouth and a burst of flame spurred from him, catching up in the wind storm and burning away the attacking paint. Rayla, Ellis, and Soren were free from the attacks, breathing heavily.

Claudia picked up the gun Ellis had dropped. The paint directly around Callum had turned white and shining, an energy building up around him. An energy that would soon be released and destroy the world.

Claudia came up behind him, pointed the gun to his head….and shot just past his ear, putting a hole in the canvas.

Callum dropped his brush, clutching his ear in pain at the noise of the gunshot. He raised his head in pain and screamed up and out into the heavens, all the light and energy he had built up shooting out of him in a pillar of colors.

Then he fell back, unconscious into Claudia’s arms. His siblings all gathered around him. Rayla was the first to look up, past the damage of the roof into the sky above. “The moon…” she whispered

The light had hit the moon directly, with enough energy to crack and break it into a million pieces….all of which were heading for Earth. “It’s the end of the world…” Soren said, no trace of humor in his voice.

“Not if we stop it,” Ellis said, “I’ll use my formula to go back in time again. This time I’ll bring all of us.”

“Oh sure,” Ezran rolled his eyes, “What could go wrong with that?!”

“You’re looking at it,” Ellis said, “A 50 year old woman in the body of a 12 year old. There’s a reason I didn’t try before now, but…” She looked up at the falling moon above them.

Each of the siblings nodded, one by one, and held hands, Claudia still holding Callum. And Ellis took them back.
