Nie Huaisang is such a character. He can faint on command. The character guide in the novel describes him as a dandy and lists his weapons as saber (ostensibly) and crying (actually). He stalked a canary for several days and then sneaked it into class. He collects porn and shares it with his friends. He's in a sword wizard society and his clan in particular is known for their blades but he never once has a fight scene. His characteristic accessory is a paper fan. He failed summer camp twice. He formed a Golden Core nearly a decade later than everyone else his age. When his brother was killed he set in motion a several years long revenge scheme that involved both careful planning and insane improv. He built a reputation on not knowing anything. He threw himself on his brother's killer weeping and saying "if you don't help me I'm killing myself in front or you." Truly who is doing it like him

Papercraft commission of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian (and Li'l Apple and a bunny), in a pose inspired by Gustav Klimt's famous painting The Kiss! Lan Wangji may be a little disgruntled at being interrupted, but Wei Wuxian is, of course, laughing the whole time.

This piece had some of the most complicated layering I've ever done in a papercraft, which meant I had to take even more care than usual with how every piece of paper was placed and the order in which they could be glued - and I already take a lot of care with that, no matter what I'm making! But the extra time was definitely worth it - I'm really happy with how the final piece came out. ^_^ A very sweet scene for WangXian!

I really love the baklava scene in the old guard, in fact the whole opening scene because it establishes their characters and their relationships so much! Like Andy and Booker don’t hug when they meet, but she’s got Don Quixote for him and he checks in with her about her year out. Booker says he’s in Marrakesh for family at the hotel. Andy hugs Nicky so tenderly and slow it shows the depth of their love for each other, just as Joe giving her a great old bear hug and swinging her around and joking with her shows their relationship too. Booker spikes his own tea, showing he’s hurting, even amongst family and none of them comment on it, showing how they’ve let it slide. Nicky has baklava for Andy, but it’s also for Booker it’s their game together. Even before we know that Joe and Nicky are together, we know that Joe puts up Nicky’s half of the bet money. They’re all so comfortable with each other, and joyful too!

Like in some films we’re shown a team *cough* marvel *cough* and they’re supposed to be close so that later it can be messed with and played around with for kicks and drama but often it’s not believable because there’s no genuine love there, just manufactured and wooden. Here in the first scene we’re left with, firstly a great first impression of each of their characters, but more importantly we’re in no doubt that these 4 aren’t just work colleagues, no Andy, Joe, Nicky, and Booker love each other so much, they’re family, and that’s what makes the emotional pay off so much more heartbreaking later.

I love chenqing. fuckass evil flute that everyone hates. somehow considered more dangerous than the literal magic swords everyone else has. supposedly made of bamboo but wei wuxian was out there whacking people with it on the battlefield. it's a vessel to channel dark and fucked up magic, but it was also a toddler's favorite teething toy. it's great.

pov: you stan a “safe” prosecutor, perfect career, a bit problematic in audience interactions but like he’s not as into the Scene so its fine. you dont really look at the fancams on twitter (most are ironic), just casually look over his cases, marvel at his perfection, those who r studying law dream of shadowing under him. life is chill for you @karmaicperfection on twitter. oh, look, he’s facing off against that rising lawyer wright, he kinda embarrassed mvk’s protege so twitter’s been popping off abt it, but he’s still green, no way he beats mvk. but… but what if. there’s no chance, but u and ur friends drum it up a bit, poke a bit of light fun at the rookie’s stans, put together a few threads on mvk for any newcomers from the rookie’s side. life is good, you gain a few followers. the rookie brings out a fucking parrot, which is insane, you guys flood the tag in disbelief and his fans celebrate his insanity while you scramble to defend yourselves when they point out that the parrot idea was technically manfred’s. youre on rough ice rn cause you dang well know you cant lose to wright and edgeworth is currently being prosecuted for patricide so all your friends from the prosecutor discord are fighting a losing battle over that so youre trying to just skate by unannounced. you get into a twitter fight over mvk’s treatment of edgeworth on the stand right as you see the rookie duck under to grab something at his feet on the live stream. when you hear the metal detector beep, you set your account to private. youre going to go talk to your career advisor tomorrow to see if its too late to switch back to journalism.
