Soratoweek 2022 - Day 3 - Sunset

So this is it, my final contribution for Soratoweek2022. I saved this one for last because it is my personal, absolute favorite, I guess, because I put a lot of effort into it, especially into the background.

As all my other pictures were rather dark, I wanted softer and brighter colors this time. I am quite happy with the result and hope you can find some joy in it. Now I have to quit drawing, because I don’t see how I can ever create something like that again :D

However, it has been quite a ride and I joined this event to maybe post two or three things and I even thought it’s going to be fanfiction, but your love for my pictures has motivated and inspired me so much. I still am, so there might be some more pictures coming. The fact that I finished this event itself is really surprising by the way 😂

So that’s it. I hope you stay with me even after soratoweek.

Soratoweek 2022 - Day 5 - First Time

So here we go, next fanart. I feel like spamming tumblr, but I gotta keep riding this wave of inspo as long as it lasts :D

Topic of today - First Time. I chose their first kiss and imagine them to be very shy and secretive about, so why not let them kiss in some remote spot after a long walk. I also think Yamato is more shy than Sora, don’t know why. Oh, the inspiration for Yamato’s jacket came from the coat he wore on the CD cover of his CD special. I didn’t like the jacket he wore in adventure 02 a lot, so I changed it here.

Soratoweek2022 - Day 4 - Travel

So what if Sora and Yamato went to New York City to listen to a classic concert at the Metropolitan Opera and afterwards were starving? I imagine them just like that, sitting right in the middle of the big city in their evening outfits and sharing pizza :D

I tried a new coloring style again, not sure if I love it, but I love being back into drawing. Oh, and I’ve never done a background, so this one was killing me.

Btw, I just can’t do the Soratoweek topics in order, hope nobody minds.

Sorato Week 2022 - Day 2 - Studying Together

I‘ve never shared anything during an event like soratoweek, so hopefully it‘s okay like that.

I‘m starting with day 2, because I am not quite finished with day 1, but something‘s coming up in the form of FanFiction :)

So today‘s topic is STUDYING TOGETHER. I imagine Sora and Yamato helping each other out with whatever they have to do for their career paths but getting carried away every now and then. And honestly, who could blame Sora. It‘s almost embarrassing but how can you not be jealous of her hot boyfriend :D The character design was inspired by Last Evolution Kizuna.

Soratoweek 2022 - Day 6 - Dedication

Guys, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all your love. It is honestly so motivating and inspiration just keeps hitting. 😍

So, here is Day 6: Yamato is dedicated to pass on his passion for music and his daughter is determined to become just as good as her dad. That‘s what I call dedication :D It doesn‘t have Sora in it, but you know, it takes two to become a parent 😂 I went a little overboard with the lighting in this one (windows are a pain) and I‘m not totally satisfied with the little girl‘s face (let me just call her Hoshiko, because I love the idea of Yamato calling her his little star child), but hey, I‘m gonna keep practicing.

Oh, this fanart was inspired by my fanfic „Dancing with your ghost“ which I posted for day 1.

PS: I know Yamato plays base, but I am certain that he also plays guitar :D

Soratoweek 2022 - Day 7 - Free Theme

Haha, this one was so much fun to draw. So I somehow came up with the idea to do a Dirty Dancing redraw and loved the pink vibes of the last scene in the movie. I really think that this scene is so off-character for Yamato (even though he shares some character traits with Johnny), but I just loved it so much 😂😂😂

So here we go…

My contribution for the last day (Day 3) is already finished but I’m gonna post it tomorrow.

Imagine there’s no countries

My heart’s been aching ever since that terrible war started and I’ve never understood better what the 🌸flowerpower movement was all about back in the days of the Vietnam war. I somehow wanted to express that longing for peace and harmony in a drawing and wondered what our beloved Sorato couple would have looked liked as hippies in the 70s. This is what it turned out to be and I’m in love with Yamato‘s man bun 😇 I imagine him to be playing John Lennon‘s Imagine or Give peace a chance …these songs have been with me these past days as well as the Scorpions Wind of Change.

We’ve been singing these songs for decades for all the same reasons just to be back at square one. But I hope this picture sends out some positive vibes in these frightening days.

Wherever you are, I hope you’re safe.
