thinking about my flower husbands idea (based off jimmy respawning in scott’s bed after leaving the end that one stream) and how on a random previous night he was around the rivendell area doing something he needed to do and getting caught in a late night snowstorm, having to meekly knock on scott’s door asking to let him in because his elytra is nearly broken because Of Course he didn’t check the durability of it beforehand, leaving him unable to fly home

and scott rolling his eyes and letting him in so he doesn’t potentially die in the snow, putting him near a fire and “begrudgingly” making jimmy tea because how dare he bother scott at this time of night

once jimmys warming up with his drink scott still sees he’s shivering a little so he gets his thicker coat and puts it over jim, trying not to pay attention to how much larger it is than his figure

jimmy begins to doze off and because it’s so late with the storm still going strong scott decides that jimmy should stay in his home for the night, but scott doesn’t have extra wool on hand and doesn’t want to go to the sheep farm to get some for a bed, so he allows jimmy to sleep with him in his room in his bed

scott lends jimmy some of his pajamas and they settle for the night

almost immediately once they both lay down does scott wrap his arms around jimmy and loosely cuddle him

jimmy not caring and maybe even scooting a little closer to scott just for “extra warmth” (that is the only reason yep 👍🏻 /s)

“it’s… abnormal. he acts the exact same way he always has, nothing majorly about him has changed! however, recently it feels like he refuses to look at me.

whenever we talk it’s like he either averts my gaze or looks past me as if something else more interesting is going on. it’s absurd! he’s never done that before, we’ve always held eye contact with each other and he’s never been the one to look away.”

thinking about flower husbands and my silly little au of empires where scott is a child ruler because his parents were killed by his brother xornoth, who was then exiled because of it leaving scott alone to deal with the damage by himself.

and for years rivendell's ruler hasn't been seen much less heard of other than his outside chime ins to decisions, until finally when he's older he feels somewhat ready enough to get back into the public eye and be a proper ruler to his people. he does so by inviting all of the other empire rulers to a huge dinner event/ball to properly introduce himself again. cut to before the event a Certain cod boy somehow ends up in rivendell causing some sort of trouble, resulting in scott getting annoyed and asking he be escorted out.

only to find out later that night he see's that same boy walking into the event in fancy attire, a crown, and the cod empire banner being carried behind him and scott thinks "there's no way that same idiot from earlier today is next in line to the cod empire throne"

yadda yadda things go on, scott properly introduces himself to all of the other empires and they continue with the event. later on scott hunts down jimmy and is amazed he's the same guy that caused trouble just a few hours ago. jimmy explains he was being careless with his elytra and accidently ended up flying into rivendell.

scott hardly has any idea who the next in line rulers are other than their names so he had zero clue the idiot that crash landed in his garden is literally his empires' ally. so after a panicked jimmy explains himself scotts like "wow he's kinda stupid but its a little funny i wanna see where this goes" and starts chatting with him more.

more thoughts about how because scott basically isolated himself from any outside social contact he’s not good at interacting with new people or expressing his thoughts and feelings in a proper way leading to a huge loss in communication between him and jimmy, more so jimmy thinks scott absolutely hates him for whatever reason because scott does actions that make it seem like he’s avoidant of jimmy.

ex when jimmy (unintentionally) sits too close for scott’s comfort so scott scoots away from jimmy to have space for himself, jimmy noticing and thinks it’s something off about him (asking lizzie later on if he smells like the swamp or something)

or another time later down the line when they’re sitting together, scott (already a bit infatuated with jimmy) really wanting to just touch jimmys hand as a way of “i enjoy your presence” but is too hesitant to do it, when jimmy turns to look at scott and sees him intensely focusing on their hands he does what he (rightfully) thought scott wanted and puts him hand on scotts, but scott being the touch avoidant person he became snatches his hand away immediately and looks forward leaving jimmy feeling really hurt and confused because ???? he thought that’s what scott wanted??

scott both longs for intimate gestures while also being avidly touch repulsed because he use to be really close with his mother before she was killed which (added with the isolation and overall growing up without his family) led him to feel deeply uncomfortable with being touched by pretty much anyone.
