It always amuses me a little when people get frustrated with the popularity of Solavellan. I get it to a degree, over exposure can create the ick and what not. But all the little arguments? "Oh I hate that the fandom takes it as canon." "Everyone just wants the god and the tragedy."

Why are you complaining?? They're only romancing Solas because they can't have Varric. If Varric was romance-able- it WOULD be the canon romance. Of not one but TWO dragon age games. We are all so starved for Varric- we settle for romancing a depressed washed up god. Solavellan is not the fandom's first pick, it's a result of the dwarven romance economy being in shambles. Cause and effect. Mathematics. If Varric could fuck we wouldn't be in this situation.

It would be really painful cool if at the start of Dreadwolf we made/imported the Inquisitor - not for a Hawke like cameo but because I really really want more of Solas’ murals and I want them to be actually be of Lavellan. Whether it’s just a hair color or their vallaslin or the place with the two halla statues were he tried to end their relationship. I don’t know where I’m going with this I just want their relationship (even if it’s not a romantic one) to matter and I think the frescoes are good way of showing it

So my Lavellan, Salvia, always pets all the noses of all the wolf statues in the Emerald Graves, and calls them the goodest boys.

And it occurred to me that cause I romanced Solas he was Right There the whole time, I just— the idea of Solas consistently losing his mind is killing me

Just things from the AU, just after she gets him back for good. 💕 The idea that Inquisitor Lavellan just gets their identity erased in portraits really stuck with me...😬 Poor Myrra.

Edit: Myrra has a very complicated relationship with her culture and people but cares for them deeply. She let's Solas remove her Vallaslin for example because he shows her what it stood for back in the days. Despite all that she still identifies as Dalish.
