i did an insane deep dive into why the last tf2 comic never launched and im pretty sure its for a fairly mundane reason - the artist and the writers ended up all getting too busy with other projects. this is at least what theyve said publicly. the artist has a blog on here she doesnt really post much on anymore but i cant recall the url at the moment. sadly the fact that the creatives all got too sucked in2 other projs is the most Valve reason ive heard for the the tf2 comic staying unfinished
yeah no that lines up, similar to how TF2s core dev team split off into working on stuff like Dota 2 after MVM shipped or so. it honestly makes me really sad to realize that even devs have burnout on such a scale within a company like valve. i definitely get why it happens, TF2 is their oldest actively supported multiplayer game, it's hard to keep motivated when this game's been running hard since 2007.

But I think it's interesting stuff so#Doesn't help that rn I'm trying to do a lineup of my 4 main ocs that I hope to make a comic with someday...#I have done a lineup of them in the past (that I haven't shared publicly) as very tiny + basic but bc of that. Not a lot of features.#So I'm trying to do a proper lineup now. This will be my first proper full body drawings of them :3#I will probably show it off when I'm all done because I've been drawing this so far for 8/9 days. And I'm not even half-way done#BUT YEAH. So with me getting a big art commission for ITNL, it makes me think about how I've never gotten any commissions for discacc... and like yes ok I've been neglecting my big baby (I'm Sorry,,,,) but my love for it remains. The 500k word count is testament to my dedication to it, even if it's currently on hiatus.
But for me putting actual real money into ITNL and not discacc...
Well...
It ultimately boils down to the fact that in discacc they still look just like their canon counterparts lol so there's really no point to doing a commission for it. ITNL Vash already looks different from his canon counterpart (due to the lightning scars, which are the main focal point of the commission).
So... no it is NOT me saying I love ITNL more. ITNL and discacc both are very dear to me. I'm just doing objectively crazier stuff in ITNL and Thus, big differences have happened. And so it goes.

OH BUT ALSO I’m going 2 be helping my moms friend w a free gig she’s doing making costumes n props for 2 kids plays at a local theatre company :) AND she’s going 2 introduce me 2 the ppl there n hopefully I can get a (unpaid) internship costume making there which hopefully could give me the experience & connections I need to get an actual job costume making or at least meet ppl who would commission pieces from me

#elise lives a life of excitement and intrigue#in some ways im glad i have cd to fall back on because it means i inherently cant have an apf situation on my hands#where i barely knew any of the characters and the plot was Extremely cobbled-together and last-minute#and its not exactly right to say im bored of cd because theres a lot of stuff in this *KNOCKING ON WOOD* last 3rd that im very excited for#but my brain with its little reborn baby-bird wings wants so bad to make up something new and run wild with it like when cd was born!#but. even though the bottom of my brain is filling up again with little trinkets and scraps that can be someday strung together...#i dont know. theres no fullness there. i think im still scaring and stopping myself because the only thing worse than not having a story#is having a flat story that im only trying to be interested in. where i have everything i should need but i just cant figure out how to-#-do anything with it :( like sunrunners / like TRouble / like hypotheca bloom theory / like like like.....#even the only reason isc and satsuma boys as (incomplete) summer nanos turned out at all was bc past me had built them in a better time#i know going through old sketchbooks and coloring in the lineart is a valid way to go#but i want to draw the lines again too :(

#i survived my drive today. it was v stressful bc there was a lot of construction going on along the highway#and i parked in a parking garage next to the handicap area so until i started working on stuff my brain was lik: u parked in the handicap#area. and it was v annoying bc literally not true. i checked at least 3 times after parking bc my brain is exhausting#but i went and handed the materials over and now its done. i only cried once lol and it wasnt that bad#wasnt that hard i mean. also i kno i swear on here all the time but i do not swear irl unless im driving#also on the way back i just started talking to myself about naruto stuff bc i have to talk while driving or im worried ill lose focus.#usually i sing but idk naruto brain rot#so now im exhausted bc of the stress plus i carried some v heavy boxes around so my body hurts#idk how this weekends gonna go. im going to see some dino tracks tomorrow bc i got invited. so thats exciting. hopefully wont be too#awkward but idk well see.#and i also gotta prep for responding to one guy for a phd position bc i think if i go to the uk im def gonna have to do scholarships for#funding so i gotta figure that out. and i have a meeting with another guy on Wednesday. so hopefully that goes well.#god. the wheels r turning. someday soon ill b a phd candidate#so we'll see how much time i have for drawing. i did make an alt account bc im currently posting from the shadow relm#i had to really think abt. like what would i name myself if i chose a username as a 25yr old and not an emo 12yr old#i went with creeping-cosmic-ooze but handful-of-fish-bones was also v tempting#no short usernames here#aye im tired. but i wanna draw DX#unrelated#god i really like the fishbones username tho

The first four are in reference to a great idea I had of - since I’ve finished my lower-limit page number testing for making books; shorter fics take up less page space, and just increasing the font size isn’t as handsome! - simply making a mini book! All it would take would be to halve the pages again, right? Just cut them right down the middle! Easy peasy!
As I’m sure you can tell by the second, no. Not easy peasy. Difficult painful un-fun >:(
Obviously I still did it tho! What do you take me for, someone who could have the idea of an even tinier book and then not do something about it?? No
It’s also the only one so far to have a paper bookmark rather than a ribbon!
All told it’s a bit smaller than your average manga (I love the monochrome covers on these under their dust jackets haha <3) - you can see even with effectively doubling up the pages by halving their size, it was still very small-spined!
A quick shot while it was still being made hehe ♪ It’s Out! Paired here - and the earlier one, just without its dust jacket haha - with my Zarla SC2 collection (ft. Family, Negotiations are Going...Well, and With No Obligation) - I absolutely kicked myself after the fact for not including Out as the run-up to everything, I was really trying to make a full collection in probably-chronological order! Out would’ve been a perfect start! And it only would’ve taken like four pages!!
Ah well, it was still quite a learning experience - I probably wouldn’t make another standalone of under 4k-ish just for formatting reasons but I did get some good ideas of how to do so if I wanted to! Although, my next project is going to be even more of a formatting nightmare........I’ll get there when I get there! Lol

Some Malotz doodles from last night! Little bit off model but yaknow I can't truthfully be bothered.
I imagine Scout spends an unreasonable amount of time preening that mop of a head Malotz calls hair. It must be maintenanced.
Some context for the second image, Malotz's patron is going to leave him in the middle of our new campaign, which takes place 15 years after the one I played him in. The Candle is an entity that really only takes one Champion (warlock) at a time, and it apparently has an incredibly important task that Malotz is not capable of performing. The Candle doesn't WANT to leave, but has to, and Malotz to that end is sad but understands. It's just rough losing a long time travel companion.
Scout is a familiar of the fae variety, but is not necessarily bound to Malotz at all. She came to him voluntarily, so she stays voluntarily, and doesn't have plans on leaving at all. Can't blame the boy for being a bit paranoid, though.

Good news: the crabs new food, leaves for foraging, and the cuttlebone should get here today or tomorrow
Bad news: the shells, which is what I really need, will not get here til Monday the earliest :(
#but thats fine bc i dont have the mental energy nor physical to boil the shells today and everything else i think can just go in as is?#bc if i boil the leaves theyd get mushy. cuttlebone would cook? and the food is powdered which def doesnt get cooked#the shells though i do boil as a precaution since they wear that on their little bodies and i want to make sure theyre clean and sanitized#but im excited for them to try out the new stuff!! i hope they like it! i got like over 20? new shells but thats bc i got variety packs to#pick through the diff shell sizes and have some big big ones and some medium big ones#any small shells get put in a case so that if i ever get more crabs one day and theyre small ill have shells for them :3#the party boys' baby shells though will not be put back in the mix if i get new ones bc those are going on a shelf#rn their on the tank and i need to wash Gurkle's someday but anyway they were so tiny 😭😭😭😭 babiiieees scupas is my fav#soley bc of how tiny it was and how BIG he is now!! Speedy's was painted unfortunately but he ditched that quick enough for a natural one#but it was a turtle lol and gurkle kept his for like 4 years at least 😭😭😭#marquilla

Current persona manga collection 👍
I decided to get the 3rd volume of mementos mission and the 9th volume of the p5 manga since I have a Bit of free spending money now. It makes me very happy to have a growing collection 😊
