#nerd alert#i feel like im going thru my midlife crisis early#im 28 years old thinking 'i need to get in better shape so i dont get all run down as i age'#like damn i should get on a workout machine so i can both get swole and also so i dont like. idk end up using a walker at 50#my dad had really bad knees and had at least one knee replacement probably both bc of his 30yrs of factory jobs lifestyle#and because one time he had to snatch his step-grandson out of the path of a moving vehicle and fell hard on his knee when he did#and also probably my insistence on riding around on his back like a pony when i was like 3. i have vague memories of that#sorry dad#anyway i dont have a factory job or kids but i probably will end up diabetic and i just. wanna keep my physical health as long as i can#im like lowkey paranoid about death and it would be cool to worry less about my body breaking down through my own negligence#ik disability can happen to anyone for any reason but i wanna do what i can to keep myself able-bodied#like if i become physically disabled then i become physically disabled but i dont want it to be something that i couldve prevented#just by being less negligent of my own health#that said. i just need a whole new set of teeth like at this point it feels like thats inevitable

"can we pretend this never happened?"
Landing on the moon, Toni expected to feel awe. And perhaps, if things had been different before the trip, she would have been. But as it was, all she could feel was guilt and anguish.
Reaching out, choosing to ignore how her hand was shaking, Antonia grabbed Soladiti's wrist, halting them in their tracks.
"Sol, I... I'm so sorry." She said, also ignoring how her voice cracked. She couldn't look up at Sol. She didn't deserve to meet their eye. But that meant she didn't see them move, and nearly jumped from their skin as Sol wrapped her in a hug. Their wings settled around Antonia's waist, and Toni let herself collapse against her boyfriend.
"You have nothing to be sorry for, my love," their voice was as calm as ever, and it only made Toni want to cry more. How could they forgive her so easily? After the way she'd acted!? After she'd nearly gotten them killed with that shock caused by her stupidity!?
Distantly, Toni could hear Sol humming. She wondered if their Father had taught them that song. That caused another horrific pang of negative feelings. She tightened her grip on Sol, and felt their head rest atop hers.
Antonia yae Galvus wasn't supposed to cry. It was one of the first lessons that her grandfather had taught her when she was a child. But here, on the moon, alone with only Soladiti to see? Antonia cried. She gripped at her girlfriend and she wept.
She wept for the harsh words she'd said to Soladiti. She wept for the dead girls that she could have saved. She wept for the memory of Soladiti on the floor, spitting up blood after being shocked. She wept for her people. She wept for her Brother. And mostly? Antonia wept for her Father, who had never loved her, but hadn't deserved what her brother had done to him.
Antonia didn't know how long she cried. But as she pulled away, Sol produced a handkerchief from somewhere and Toni accepted it gratefully, wiping at her face.
"So... Can we pretend this never happened?" Toni asked, passing the handkerchief back. Soladiti smiled, and Toni felt a final tear bubble forth.
"Pretend what never happened?" They said, bending to kiss Toni's forehead. "I love you, Toni."
"Yeah, yeah. You too, Sol."

Have to skip flamenco classes tomorrow. Overestimated just how much my hips and knee could take doing the Fight Club yesterday and am now In Pain
#during the fighty workshops: hm wow this hurts. let’s keep going I’ll take painkillers when I get home’#my hip just completely seized on the way to the bus and I nearly nosedived down some stone steps#oh dearie dear. the consequences have come knocking#why have I chosen extremely active hobbies/unpaid job when my body is literally trying to implode#’hm I think I’m gonna devote a significant amount of my time to things that require extreme physical exertion especially in the lower body#yes my knee is permanently damaged and my hips don’t lie they’re just Painful but it’s fun! I’m so okay!’#used to walk with a cane after a particular nasty seizure fucked me up for life#I was like 13 or something when I was told I wasn’t allowed to and it got snatched and hidden from me#oh well. probably wasn’t even the right height anyways#I took some painkillers it’s better#after some rest I’ll be back to waving swords around and dancing flamenco poorly#(I’m getting better! it’s just repetition! big fan of repetitive movement)
