(I screwed up the text placement on the last page, read from professor membrane top left, down to zim bottom left, then dib top right)
Poor Dib lol
Btw i headcanon that zim has an internship at membrane labs when they're in high school. Zim talks to Membrane about Dib and them hanging out (he thinks the boys are dating and just not telling him yet) and the professor is hoping zim's "real science" attitude rubs off on Dib lmao

Light filtered in through Nesta’s shut eyelids and she groaned, nestling her head further into the pillow beneath her. Only it didn’t feel like a pillow. It was warm, and smooth, and breathing.
She pinched her eyes shut and shook her head, not wanting the obvious to be true. After realizing this shitstorm was unavoidable, she peaked up at the face of the man she was lying on. At least I know I still got it she thought grimly.
He was completely gorgeous, curly hair muffled from sleep and full lips open, and felt like he’d been built from stone.
Nesta supposed if she had to wake up completely naked on top of a stranger she couldn’t remember going home with, it helped that he was ungodly sexy.
After slowly peeling herself off of him—having to resist the urge to peak under the blanket to see exactly how good her night had been—she tiptoed around the room, trying to find her clothes.
“Morning, stranger,” a deep voice sounded behind her.
Nesta yelped, grabbing the blanket to cover herself. Which left him completely exposed. Not that he seemed to care. He propped his head up with his hand and smiled at her.
Oh, I definitely had a good night, she thought, trying and failing to look somewhere other than his tanned, toned body.
“Good morning…” she said quietly, struggling to remember his name.
He gave her a shit-eating grin that told her he was enjoying the blush on her cheeks entirely too much as he extended a hand and said, “Cassian.”
She quickly shook it, ignoring the feeling of his callouses and the faint memories of them on her skin, and replied, “Nesta.”
“So nice to meet you, Nesta,” he said, voice still clouded with sleep.
She was about to reply and say that they’d most definitely already met when she glanced at the clock and yelped again.
“Shit! I have to be in class in twenty minutes, and I have no idea where I am, and I can’t even find my fucking-”
Cassian held up the black lace bra she’d been wearing the night before and grinned. Nesta didn’t have time to bother with pleasantries as she snatched it and slid it on, reaching for her dress. It was an obvious walk-of-shame dress, the kind that was basically a second skin and would definitely gain her some disapproving stares as she left.
She didn’t think about how she looked, or the fact that she wasn’t wearing underwear, as she grabbed her shoes and speeded for the door.
“It was nice to… meet you, Cassian,” she shouted as she raced out his front door, ignoring his protests and slamming it behind her.
Squinting her eyes against the light, Nesta figured out where she was and thanked the heavens she was only a five minute walk from her apartment. She gripped her shoes in her hands and took off, praying she would make it to class on time.
____
Nineteen minutes later, Nesta raced into Professor Rhysand’s classroom, out of breath and sweaty. She’d had to run from the other side of campus to make it, but it was worth it. The prof had told them to come prepared for a “fun day,” and that usually meant a test, so she couldn’t be late. Professor Rhysand—and he made his students call him Rhysand because using his last name made him feel old—locked the doors exactly at 9 so late people couldn’t get in, so she’d had to practically sprint here. He was a hardass, but still Nesta’s favorite professor.
She found her usual seat in the back--far away from her peers-- propped her head against the wall, and waited for her professor to show up.
And waited. After ten minutes, Nesta was starting to get severely pissed off. She could’ve showered with this extra time. Or at least brushed her hair and put on a clean shirt.
But no, she’d been too stressed to worry about laundry, so she’d grabbed leggings and a tank top off the floor. One she was fairly certain she’d worked out in.
She squinted her eyes at the door, ready to give him a hateful look as soon as he walked in.
Instead, her eyes went wide as someone entirely too familiar strolled into the room, looking way too put-together. Whispers immediately arose from her peers about how sexy he was, how they’d definitely get with him, and all sorts of ridiculousness.
“Shit,” she whispered, trying to sink lower in her chair. The last thing she needed was for him to see her.
“Good morning, everyone. Sorry I’m late. Little Rhysand is out sick today, so I’ll be subbing for you all. My name is Professor Nezarra. I work over at Hybern University, which I know is the enemy school and all, but it’ll be okay. I won’t tell them that you guys liked me.”
A few generous laughs.
“Professor Rhysand has prepared a movie for you guys, so just relax and sign the attendance sheet whenever it comes around to you.”
Nesta sighed as the lights went out, proud of herself for staying hidden. He could not see her here. It was bad enough she’d had to face him this morning, but here? In front of her classmates? Oh, absolutely not.
She’d rather fake a medical condition and leave class than-
“Hello, stranger.”
Oh, fuck me.
She looked up slowly, dreading seeing the smirk she knew would be gracing his features. She almost groaned when her eyes met his. He was already insanely good looking, but this? This was ridiculous.
His hair was damp and pushed back off his forehead, making his eyes seem even more golden. The black of his shirt showed off the impressive build of his shoulders.
Why did it seem like he was even bigger than he’d been before? Had he worked out or something?
“You had time to shower?” Nesta asked incredulously before she could stop herself.
He grinned down at her, having too much fun. “That’s what I was trying to tell you when you sprinted out this morning. You could’ve stayed, because I had to drive here anyway. Plus, you could’ve showered with me.” Cassian waved his eyebrows suggestively.
Nesta rolled her eyes. “Shouldn’t you go back up there?” She motioned to the front of the room where Prof Rhysand’s desk was.
“Nah,” he whispered confidently, sliding in the seat next to her and draping an arm over her shoulders. “If I go up there, it might give you time to sprint out of here again. You’re pretty fast.”
“I run track,” Nesta muttered back, gripping his arm and throwing it off of her.
Cassian acted like she hadn’t done anything and threw it around her again.
“Stop,” she whispered. “People can see.”
His eyebrows raised, a smile tugging at his lips. “See what?”
Nesta rolled her eyes and said, “That I fucked my professor!” she whispered furiously.
“First of all, sweetness,” he said, pulling her closer. “I’m not your professor. I don’t even work here.” True. “Second—and I meant to ask this this morning—do you even remember fucking me?”
A blush exploded across Nesta’s face, all the way down her neck. Cassian’s grin grew, and he propped his head up with a hand, face entirely too close to hers.
“Of course,” she said, the lie bitter on her tongue.
Cassian nodded, eyebrows squinted. “So you remember my friend being there too, then?”
“What?!”
She dropped her head into her hands, squeezing her eyelids shut.
Oh my gods this was so much worse than she’d thought. It was one thing to have a one night stand, but to have a threesome and not even remember? What kind of woman what she, and what had she had to drink?
“I’m kidding, Nesta,” he said teasingly, poking her side.
She looked up at him, ready to give him the verbal smack down he apparently wanted, but he spoke quicker. “Really, I’m surprised you don’t remember.”
“I was drunk,” she replied defensively.
He smiled and said, “I was too, but I remember. I mean we fucked on the roof for crying out loud.”
She waited for him to tell her he was joking again.
“Are you serious?”
The shit eating grin was back as he laughed and said, “Oh yeah. You said it made you feel like you were in the clouds. Although maybe that was just the orgasms-”
His voice carried a little to far that time, and half of her classmates turned around to stare at their position and raise their eyebrows.
“Oh my sweet heavens, shut up! You cannot talk about my orgasm in front of my peers-”
“Orgasms. Plural,” he said, a cocky smirk planting itself on his face.
Nesta believed him, but still raised an eyebrow, looked him up and down, and said hatefully, “Oh, I very seriously doubt that.”
His hand found its way to her thigh, fingers tracing light circles as he dropped his head to her ear and whispered, “Nesta, baby, you came seven times last night. I remember each one.” His teeth tugged on her earlobe, and she almost saw stars. “They’re replaying in my head like my personal movie.”
She shoved him away, ignoring the way her pulse had risen and the gooey feeling in her legs.
But he wasn’t done.
“Let’s see. There was the one against the wall, the two—or was it three?—on the roof, the one on the floor-” he laughed at that. “The one in my bed, and oh, of course. The one where I went down on you,” Nesta’s breath hitched as he drew too close again, “That one was my favorite. I can still taste-”
“Shut up shut up shut up!” Nesta whisper-shouted as memories started to assail her. He let out a laugh. That one had definitely been her favorite too, but she wasn’t about to admit it, or let her classmates hear about it, for heaven’s sake.
“You remember that don’t you?”
His hand was still on her thigh, and it drew higher as he said, “You remember moaning my name, pulling my hair as I slid my tongue up your thigh, right here,” his fingers tapped against her inner thigh. “You remember, don’t you?”
Nesta was pretty sure she’d never breathe normally again. She stopped caring about her classmates and started only caring about the new throbbing between her legs.
“No,” she said shakily, holding on to the lie.
“Hm,” he hummed, gripping her thigh tighter and whispering, “I’d be happy to show you again, you know, to refresh your memory.”
In the back of her mind, she knew the video had ended and people were staring, waiting for Cassian to do something, but she couldn’t be bothered to care.
“However, right now I have to deal with your classmates.”
She fought a groan as he got up, and Nesta hated how she already missed the warmth of his hand on her. She was too worked up over this guy, someone she’d literally only known for less than a day.
But she couldn’t help but remember last night, how those hands had felt on her, how they’d squeezed the thighs she wrapped around his waist-
“Ms. Archeron?”
Nesta snapped out of the haze she’d been in and said, “Yes?”  Everyone stared, and Cassian’s eyebrows raised knowingly. “Can you repeat the question?”
“How did you like the video?”
Oh, the little prick. He knew she hadn’t watched a second of whatever dumb video Professor Rhysand had “prepared.”
Nesta shrugged, narrowed her eyes, and said, “It was fine.”
Cassian’s lips twitched up as he said, “Just fine? You seemed to really enjoy it.”
“And you would know this how, exactly?” Were they still talking about the video?
“Oh, you told me.” He said confidently. “Multiple times.” No. Definitely not.
Nesta was going to kill him. Everyone in the room was watching them with a mixture of confuse and amusement written on their faces.
“Well, like I said, it was fine, but I won’t be watching it again. Ever.” She narrowed her eyes.
His eyebrows rose, and he said, “Oh, I think you will. You might even watch it again tonight.”
A few of her classmates chuckled at that.
“Oh?”
“I think, if you look back at it, it was the best movie you’ve ever seen.” That stupid, confident little smirk was driving her crazy.
Nesta wanted to… to.. well she didn’t know what she wanted. All she knew was that this stupid argument, what they’d done last night, was the most fun she’d had in a while. He had some affect on her she couldn’t describe. Half the time she wanted to punch him in the face, the other half she wanted to fuck his brains out.
Probably not the healthiest combination, but Nesta didn’t care one bit as she smirked back and said, “It was definitely the best movie you’ve ever seen, but not me. I’m somewhat of a movie master. But I might be nice and let you watch it again later. Maybe you’ll learn something.”
Cassian gave her a huge smile, cleared his throat, and said to the class, “You guys can leave. Tell Rhys I’m a much cooler professor than he is.”
Nesta stayed perfectly still as her classmates filtered out, ignoring their whispers, and stared at Cassian. He was leaned up against the desk, arms crossed over his broad chest, thumb running over his bottom lip.
When the last student left and the door clicked closed, Nesta rose to her feet and slowly walked down the isle to stand in front of him.
“Did you find my answer satisfactory, Professor?” she asked lightly, putting her hands on his chest and looking up at him.
His hands wrapped around her hips and pulled her flush against him, and his voice was cloudy as he replied, “I’m not going to lie. You might have to sleep with me if you want an A.”
Nesta sighed dramatically. “Oh, the things I do for my studies,” she whispered as she rose onto her toes and pressed her lips to his.

Jessica Biel: Whiteface & the Beast! This is my story.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the ever-lovely! - Jessica Biel.
Tumblr media
I had a dream about her, but I'll get back to that in a sec.
If you don’t know, I normally ramble about movies. There are a lot of movies that I could have talked about this week.
"Dolemite Is My Name" -
Tumblr media
Eddie getting back into the swing of things! I'm actually a lil concerned about this. "Coming to America 2"? The first one is a classic; what are we doing?! Does it need a sequel? Don't mess with perfection! I've heard that there will be another "Beverly Hills Cop" sequel as well! What's next? - another "Norbit"?   Another "Nutty Prof"? The chronicles of Donkey?
Tumblr media
I could have talked about "Jojo Rabbit", a comedy involving Hitler.
Tumblr media
That is dangerous territory, my friends. BUT, with Scarjo in the mix, any offense is kinda forgiven. I mean just look at her.
Tumblr media
If I were a cop, and I caught her red handed in murder, I'd probably let her go, and just say the victim fell in the kitchen.
It's weird how her awesomeness works when she's in offensive films, unless she is the lead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Somehow her powers failed her in those incidences.
She hasn't tried to do black face yet though, so there's that! On that note, the only white actor allowed to do black face in my opinion is Robert Downey Jr
Tumblr media
(Sgt Lincoln Osiris - Look up for context, kids). To this day, I'm all for giving Osiris his own franchise. Maybe have Scarjo play his black girlfriend (kinda like Foxy Cleopatra from “Austin Powers”).
Tumblr media
This would be horribly offensive! But, I'd still love to see it, as everyone's heads explode over the fact.
I could have talked about that boring ass war movie... whatever it's called. I think Dr. Strange is in it
Tumblr media
Or the horror movie "Countdown" I use the word "horror" loosely. It looks like fun hot garbage. Kind of a cool concept though -  an entity setting a timer to beat your ass and kill you.
But, there's something else, or maybe I should say someONE else on my mind, that I need to warn y'all about. This is more important than some movie.
And it's of course Jessica Biel.
Tumblr media
No, not THAT Jessica Biel (the ever-lovely)
Like I said, I had a dream about her, and in THAT dream she was the ever-BITCHY.
Tumblr media
Always ordering me around:
Take out the trash, wash the dishes, walk the dog, etc. BUT, nothing I did was ever any good for her! Didn't like the way I placed the bags outside. Didn't like how I put the dishes away. I walked the dog for too long, or sometimes not for long enough.
Paint our room this color or that color, then I would paint it that color, and she'd take one look at it and want it redone. She'd always eat the food that I brought home for ME (with MY name on it!) Then be like "I didn't know."
What do you mean you didn't know?! You ain't buy it! And your name sure as hell ain't praphit!
Tumblr media
*heavy sigh* I'm traumatized, people! In the dream, it was like we were married for decades - DECADES OF THIS! And any time I'd try to stand up to her, she'd start crying. In real life I'd never put up with this! WHAT THE HELL?! I'm still mad!
Some people would be like "Well, at least you got a dream where you're living with her, so... at least some sexy time salvages it all." NO! There was no sexy dream time had! And even if there was, I don't think it would have been worth it!
It went down in the dream like this:
Praphit: *giving sexy eyes* :)
Biel: "I'm not in the mood"
Praphit: "Again huh?? Ok... well, imma... you know... and then go to bed.
Biel: "No."
Praphit: "What do you mean NO?"
Biel: "It's cheating in the eyes of our Lord."
Praphit: "Our Lo... since when are YOU religious?"
Biel: "Don't you Christian shame me!"
Praphit: "I'm NOT, I just... *heavier sigh* anyway, FINE, I'm going to bed."
Biel: "Whatever. Leave the light on; I'm about to read."
SEE, PEOPLE!
THE EVER-BITCHY
There's a shower scene. I go into the shower. I know what some of y'all are thinking FINALLY! YES!
Nah.
She's in there crying... over something I did. I'm just in there consoling her, while getting yelled at. I didn't even get a look at what she had going on in there. No, you know... good shots in that scene. Whoever was directing my dream is fired.
Then, things got weird.
We go into my dream mom and sister's room. She kicks them out (OF THEIR OWN ROOM). I'm trying to explain myself. And apparently, what I did to her... (now, people, try to follow... cuz I certainly can't) I had been dressing up like Justin Timberlake, in white face... like Casper the ghost white face, with a curly wig on like JT from the NSYNC days. I was out performing, and everyone was buying it. AND (somehow weirder!), sometimes, I'd put makeup over top of the JT makeup in order to look like Justin Bieber, so as to perform as him as well. So... extra white face. AND EVERYONE BOUGHT IT! I'm unsure, but at some point, she had sex with either me (dressed up), or JT and thought it was me, or Bieber and thought it was me... Idk, again, I can't follow this nonsense. But, we argued forever, and somewhere in there, I woke up.
I went to work that morning, MAD! Think of a time where you argued with someone the night before, went right to bed, and when you woke up, you're still kinda in that mood; kinda like you're still arguing with them. You know?? I was doing THAT, MAD... at Jessica Biel! It doesn't even make any sense!
And as far as the JT/JBieb thing... if she's fooled during sexy time... isn't that a lil bit her fault as well?  I mean... ... it makes me think of Rachel Dolezal; remember her?
Tumblr media
(If you don’t remember her, google her name... it’ll change your life)
(I'm waiting for the movie of her story to come out btw. Maybe Scarjo could play her)
Now, getting fooled at work by her or in the community is one thing, but sexy time? People, I'm not going to get into details, but... you know what I'm talking about. If you're fooled... what the hell is wrong with YOU?!
Anyway, Idk what to make of any of this.
I've considered that this dream is a true glimpse at the real Jessica, and that perhaps one day, Justin Timberlake will share with us his story. I've considered that it's prophetic, and that Jessica might leave Justin and pursue a rebound with a Baltimore black man like myself. Maybe God is warning me.
I've considered that Jessica Biel might be a witch - and did this to me on purpose, so she doesn't have to vent at Justin. I wouldn't hate on her if she's a witch; that's between her and our Lord.
Or maybe it's all real! Maybe when I go to sleep, I sleep walk as Justin Timberlake... AND Bieber... and then live in horrible, argumentative fashion with Jessica Biel. People, IDK! I just want closure! But, I fear, It's never gonna happen.
Today is Halloween. Imma get some candy, rock a costume, and forget/suppress all of this. In this life, you'll rarely get closure when bad stuff happens to you, BUT you can ALWAYS get candy - that's what I tell the kids.
I'll leave you all with that. Happy Halloween!
And you TRAIN yourselves to wake up if you ever spot Biel in a dream!

alright, so today was overall pretty good. I woke up at 11:20 and started getting ready, around 11:40 I checked the bus schedule only to find the next bus wasn’t coming till 12:10, so I was like fuck that shit and decided I could uber to school, or at least to the brown line station, but Lyft was having a good deal for a shared car so I took that to school for a decent price, figured I might as well go all the way. I got there at like 12:35, dropped my stuff in the PAD office and went up to class. I had been lazy and not finished the last two cases in the reading for class because I knew that since I’d been called on the class before I probably wouldn’t get called on during this class, but I copied case briefs from lexis so I’d at least have some info on it. the class was fine, my prof was talking about religious defenses (because some of the cases we were reading had to do with Christian schools denying admission to black children because they’re terrible people who don’t have any fucking clue what the word Christian means) and he was saying there was a retaliation case where they had fired the person for taking something to court, claiming it was against their religion to take things to court, and he was like “well I mean that sounds like a kind of convenient argument meant to fit the situation” so I raised my hand was like well yeah there’s actually scriptural support for that idea in 1 Corinthians, as far as if you have a dispute you try to solve it between the two of you, then if you can’t resolve it bring another person, then the church, and so on and so forth, rather than taking it to a “secular” court (unfortunately this passage has often been misused to justify things like not taking sexual abuse to the police which is obviously not what it’s talking about at all) and he seemed to appreciate that insight. After I went down to the PAD office and finished my secured transactions reading for class tonight, I only had a couple of pages left so it didn’t take very long. Then I went on to my civil rights reading for Monday, and got at least some of that done. I was debating on getting starbucks but I once again didn’t want to go outside because it’s fucking freezing, but guy who hangs around the office showed up again and was gonna get coffee, so I did a mobile order and he picked it up and brought it to me. I feel so fucking basic every time I order “pink drink” but I’m kind of obsessed with it and it’s a lot less calories than the steamers and other options I can have, so there’s that at least. Went up to class when it was time, paying attention was admittedly somewhat of a struggle, but I was able to take some notes at least and I think I have a fairly good grasp of what’s going on, so that’s good at least. As long as I keep doing the reading I think I should be okay. but yeah, it was pretty boring and unremarkable. Finished at 8:30, took the red line to the brown line to the bus, had to wait like 9 minutes for the bus so not bad. Got home and checked my recorded shows, then decided nothing was too important to watch right now, so I watched an episode of Game of Thrones that was quite interesting. I love Arya so much, my small murder child, I was definitely just like her at that age (though I didn’t have access to swords so). Is Arya supposed to be older or younger than Bran though? Idk if they’ve clarified. I like that Ned Stark got his daughter a sword trainer though, that’s classy. Daenerys is at least settling into her role as queen (or khaleesi) and putting her stupid brother in his place, so I approve of that, and her sex scenes with Drogo have become significantly less rapey, so that’s always good (the first few were BAD). After that I watched an episode of Mistresses which was interesting. I knew i recognized the actress playing Calista from somewhere but couldn’t place her, and I’m like going down her imdb list not recognizing any of them for like years and years, then all the way back in 2002 she has master of disguise and I’m like yupp, that is exactly where I know her from 😂 I’ve seen that movie so many times, it’s definitely one of the better PG-comedies out there. Her storyline was kind of weird, but I’m glad it had a good ending, and Joss getting to be a model was great. Karen’s storyline with her tension with the doctor was also strange, not sure what they’re getting at there. And man, poor April. she has to put up with so much shit. The life insurance plot is crap though, that’s not at all how those things work. But it looks like the plot regarding Scottie and his uncle (I don’t remember his name) is going to be good, so that’s progress. and I’m glad Joss is finally just being like fuck it and going to Harry because that’s what she really should’ve done since the beginning tbh. I can honestly say I did not see their romance coming, like they had definitely been dropping hints but I just didn’t think they would go in that direction, but I guess they did, and it provided somewhat of a reason to write Savi off, even if I still think that was a really dumb plot. But yeah, overall enjoyable. And after that I started getting ready for bed, and now I’m here. Tomrrow I have PT at 12:30, then nothing till my “conference” for legal drafting from 6:40 to 6:50 instead of having class, so that’s good at least (though it’s kind of annoying I have to get all the way down to the loop for ten minutes). Hopefully I can get around to putting my laundry away since I haven’t done that yet and maybe get some reading done, because I’ll likely be indisposed for most of the weeked (fun adventures to come there). Anddd I think that’s about it, it’s almost 1:30 am and even with getting to sleep in fairly late I should still be getting to bed so I can at least take advantage of the extra sleep. Goodnight babes. Sweet dreams.

Why 23 Event Profs, Speakers and Attendees Love Live Events
Objectively, events are proven to be a valuable marketing channel. Subjectively, they're magic. It's not just a matter of the face-to-face, offline experience (although that's very important). It's a matter of the lighting, the design, the presentations, the speakers, the connections made, the lessons learned, the activities and (lest we forget) the food.
There's a lot to love about events. We asked 23 event marketers, speakers, designers, organizers and attendees why they love live events. Specifically, we asked them about that magic moment of success that happens at events—that experience that is truly the most rewarding and impactful.
Christine Landry, Senior Social Media Editor, DexYP
"I was nervous presenting for the first time alongside speakers from Google, Yahoo and other professionals at a company event for small business owners. After our presentations, the speakers were mingling with attendees, and I heard an attendee say to another, 'There she is. Grab her!' and was surprised that they wanted to speak with me. It made me realize: You don’t have to be a speaker for a living to have a message that resonates."
Emily Fullmer, Director of Global Events, GreenBook
"Hosting conferences around the world leads to a lot of good times— attendees, clients and friends are often one in the same. Walking through an event and seeing faces I’ve met around the world reminds me of how far we’ve come."
Cari Goodrich, Senior Director of Global Marketing Programs, Looker
"Events serve as a great way to revitalize and reconnect with existing contacts in your database. Being able to re-engage with accounts that went dark or got lost somewhere in the marketing funnel, is my *true* magic moment."
David Title, Chief Engagement Officer, Bravo Media
"Watching guests interact with a one-of-a-kind display built just for this moment in time."
Chris Massey, Product Manager, Mind The Product
"When an exhibitor actively stops you just to tell you how well-looked-after they felt, and how well your crew took care of them."
Allison Miller Thompson, Marketing Manager, EXL
"When an 'issue' (or two or four...) arises and you handle it and no one is the wiser. One of my favorite things to do after an event is tell leadership all the things that 'could have gone wrong' behind the scenes but they never knew about!"
Donna Kastner, Founder, Retirepreneur
“When I summon the courage to move beyond my comfort zone to design a new event experience that’s appreciated. Such was the case for the Business Breakthrough Incubator at the PCMA Education Conference.”
Liz Castelli, COO, Tinsel & Twine
"I spend all day thinking about solutions for my business and so when I see my team doing just that at events - working together to problem solve in smart and innovative ways, I know we had a successful day!"
Adam Aleksander, Creative Director, Adam Aleksander Events
"Creating an event is about 3 things. Start with a super sticky idea, promote it in a creative way in the right medium, and provide a genuinely fun experience for the guests. I worked on a multi-room party-hopping experience called Fonda Chilena that I think really captured that."
Emily Miethner, CEO & Founder, FindSpark
"For me, it's always rewarding when people let me know that they usually hate networking events, but that our event felt different. Whether it's at an event like one of our panels, or Hustle Summit—knowing that we've changed someone's perspective on what it means to build a strong network and community for themselves, that it can actually be enjoyable — is always the best feeling."
Ramon Ray, Entrepreneur
"If I can learn lots from event speakers—I'm having a GREAT day!"
Leslie Short, CEO, K.I.M Media
"I’m always critical of all of my events, but I do enjoy seeing people faces when they arrive to a venue they have been to before and I have transformed it into something completely different."
Karolina Rosas Espinosa, Knowledge Broker, Social Colectivo
"The moment your speaker gets off the stage with a tear in the eye and the sensation of a well delivered message and the audience energy is a the top. That is worth living."
Wahiba Chair, Senior Social Media Strategist, Wahiba Chair Consulting
"To me, as the event organizer of #YVRSocial, the magic moments of success happen when everyone, including attendees, sponsors, speakers etc. truly connect in person and online. I think it's both an art and a science. Thanks to social media, we can generally measure online event engagement and sentiment through the event hashtag. If your conversations are trending (in a good way), that generally means you're doing something right."
Barry Labov, President & CEO, LABOV
"The magic really happens when we can take learners from ‘why’ at the beginning of a training program to ‘wow’ by its conclusion.”
Corbin Ball, Founder, Corbin Ball Associates
"In my past life as a meeting planner, the magic moment of success was the wonderful sense of completion after a successful event. The crazy '3-ring circus' is done, the attendee compliments have been received, and you can fly back home to relax, rest-up and get ready for the next event.
"As a participant, I think the magic moments are seeing truly gifted speakers who inspire, who educate, who make you laugh and can even bring you to tears. A good speaker can change your life.
"As a speaker, to truly have the audience with you attentively listening, laughing and sometimes gasping at the ideas presented is very gratifying."
Alexandre Eisenchteter, Founder & CEO, Stormz
"It's always great when you can share the experience of event planners and illustrate new ways to draw the attendees' attention during conferences—like we do with Stormz."
Will Curran, Founder and Chief Event Einstein, Hello Endless
"The moment for me at an event that is most magical and special is when the client comes up and does the nod. You don't know what the nod is? It's when once per event someone comes up to you and says "thanks for doing this" or "this meant a lot to me" and they nod, and I nod back (stolen from the movie Groove).
"But on a serious note, that moment when someone recognizes all of the hard work we've put into an event is amazing. We often go unnoticed as the AV and event production team (and we love being the behind the scenes guys) but when someone is grateful for what we do it means everything."
Boaz Katz, Co-founder and Chief Product Strategy, Bizzabo
"In 2012 we powered Qualcomm's annual conference and their CEO mentioned Bizzabo as part of his Keynote session. As we were a small team and a young company at the time, it was amazing recognition for what we were building."
Liz King, Founder, Liz King Events
"When you're planning an event, choosing great content is often a huge challenge. You're basically trying to read your audience's mind. So, when we were putting together content for techsytalk LIVE 2016, we decided to infuse some content that was a bit outside the box, but that we thought would resonate with our audience. It was a huge risk, but when I saw the attendee's gulping up the content, sharing on social and LOVING the session, it was so rewarding!"
Phil Mershon, Director of Events, Social Media Examiner
"That moment when two attendees 'just happen' to meet during a networking event and they discover they are exactly who they needed to meet to make the conference worth it."
Laura Lopez, Community Manager, Social Tables
"Getting the opportunity to introduce people to their future clients at an event is super rewarding. Our industry is built on relationships and so many of these relationships and connections are forged at in-person events."
Adam Parry, Editor, Event Industry News
"The best part for me is when after months of planning and work you are able to take one step back and see everything working live at the event”

In Which I Get Back to the Old Grind
Dr. Facial,
It’s funny to think that just a week ago I was back home enjoying the comforts of my couch and my home. I’ve only been back at school for a week now, but it feels like I never even left. And quite honestly I’m not sure what that means for how I’ve adjusted to college and what I think of being here. I guess now that I stop and actually think about it, I like it here. As far as introductions go I think I’m getting ahead of myself so let’s rewind all the way back to March 13th.
I finally visited! It was great to see where you’ve been living and what you’ve been up to. Your campus is beautiful and quite big. I really did like it, but it just didn’t feel like home to me, and maybe that’s a good thing, getting back to my assimilation to life at Purdue. Having been all around your campus made me realize that I feel pretty comfortable on my own, so that’s a wonderful thing considering the difficulty I had adjusting here. I think my favorite part of the visit was spending time with you and all your friends. I’ll give you this – if transferring meant I would get to hang out with all of you I think it would be pretty worth it, because they really seem like a good group. Also, that movie was so trippy haha! After we said goodbye I spent the next day with my parents, which included going to the Parthenon during the day and spending the night on Broadway. Now you know I’m not a big country fan, but I appreciated how much talent there was and appreciated even more that they sang songs with substance. All around, good trip! It was nice to just sit at home on my couch too though after all that time in a car.
With the rest of my spring break I watched Frasier, supervised some candle making, tried to get Breath of the Wild with Kyle, and went to wizard school with DJ and Silbs. It was pretty lax. The first week back at school passed with no great incident. It’s funny how sometimes it feels like the world just keeps on turning for the hell of it. But let’s not gaze into the abyss too long, since the abyss gazes also into you, as they say. But going back a bit – Wizard School was quite fun and I think you would enjoy it too. Also, now that I think about it this week was kind of different because Anthony’s girlfriend stayed with us all week and she was very nice! Both of them think I don’t have enough experience flying, which I can’t really argue, but it would be fun to visit them in California. Maybe it’s warm there. But spring is on its way here, I can feel it! It’s getting warmer and rainy and I am so excited for summer and warmth and happiness! This post is really bad and sporadic, but I just can’t think eloquently at the moment, so please bear with me. So anyways it was good to meet her. This week also included one of my students telling me he hates me, some silly swing dancing moves, and visiting places to stay over the summer here. I’m taking that internship here over the summer (which is good because I didn’t get the one at my mom’s company). I’m in the process of subleasing a town house, which is a pain, but it’s good to have somewhere that I found, and plenty of space for visitors should you be so inclined over those eight weeks of the internship. I’m sad I won’t be home for a while after the semester ends, but I think that getting this experience now will benefit me in the future as a work towards greater goals. Being an adult is mentally tiring stuff -  I should have stayed eighteen, but too late for that now.
I’m not sure if you’ve seen it or not, but I would recommend the new Beauty and the Beast movie because it’s Beauty and the Beast and also because Emma Watson is fantastic. Great soundtrack. Listening to it now actually. I’ve been spending lots of brain power thinking about my life this past week or so, so I would ask you how you make tough decisions. I hope you’re doing well still, brother. I’ll be seeing you then.
