Well shit, I knew the ending wasn't going to be a happy one, but fuck. 😭😭😭😭😭

Snowdrop

16 episodes of intrigue, politics, longing, and disappointment.

At least the main characters kissed once in episode 11. 🥺

There were several side plots I thought would come back around to add some sweetness or friendliness. But they didn't! Just added on to the unsatisfactory pile.

I don't want to look up the names of the characters right now, but one couple had a sort-of happy ending, no kiss tho. And the other couple had potential but nothing happened!

It's a fictitious story, why couldn't it have more positive endings for characters? GDI, I LIKE STORIES TO HAVE HAPPY ENDINGS.

If you don't mind having your heart ripped out via tears streaming down your face, go ahead and watch it.

Comparable to: Crash Landing on You (kdrama) ; Mr. Sunshine (kdrama) ; Chicago Typewriter (kdrama) The Bridal Mask (kdrama)

The one that could’ve been 🤌 but still had a somewhat decent story in its own way, but it just wasn’t what I was inspecting. It’s more or less a spy action thriller more then a romance storyline to me. I mean yes sure there’s romance bits in it but it felt like an afterthought especially in the first and middle half. Now the action thriller part of the storyline was written really well to a certain point. I think if they cut out a bit of the filler episodes where it got a repetitive somewhat and cut out the romance completely OR focused on it better then this would’ve been a whole lot better. Acting wise everyone was on top on their game. Jung Hae In of coarse always plays these parts spectacular.

Shakespeare's Cymbeline obviously has some story elements in common with Snow White. A princess heroine, a wicked queen stepmother, a servant is ordered to kill the princess but instead lets her go, she finds the home of some men in the wilderness and lives with them, but then she succumbs to "poison" from her stepmother and is mourned as dead, yet she isn't really dead, and eventually there's a happy ending.

In the play, the character of Belarius, the foster father who takes Imogen in (and whose foster sons turn out to be her long-lost brothers), goes by the pseudonym Morgan.

In the Let's Pretend radio adaptation of Snow White (or rather Snowdrop, as it's called), the leader of the seven dwarfs, basically a more dignified version of Disney's Doc, is named Morgan.

Thought I was done binging Kdramas. Guess not!

I just finished episode 10 of 16 of

Snowdrop on Disney+

and the first episode was tough to get through, but the show got better. You think there's a good ending point, but you're only like 3 episodes in, what could possibly happen plot-wise to fill a 16 episode series where all the episodes are 90 minutes long each!?

Holy crap: a hostage situation, espionage, and more! Will any of these characters have a happy ending? I doubt it. Will the main characters ever kiss??? 😵

Side note, so nice to watch a show that takes place in the 80s, because no cell phones! And the phones all had wires! So spies had to use walkie-talkies/radios, secret codes, and be clever and resourceful.

It's almost 6am, I need sleep.
