Finally had some time to catch up with some of the spring season anime I'm watching and... I'm losing my mind over gunjou no fanfare. Why no one talks about it??? Okay, it isn't a masterpiece, definitely has errors, but I like how character driven the whole thing is. Just those little jockey students overcoming chalanges and finding their way <3 I think it would have been better if it had more episodes to focus on the characters, but honestly I think it was good. Would recommend it.

In other words, do not let us begin by exaggerating the novelty of our situation. Believe me, dear sir or madam, you and all whom you love were already sentenced to death before the atomic bomb was invented: and quite a high percentage of us were going to die in unpleasant ways. We had, indeed, one very great advantage over our ancestors—anesthetics; but we have that still. It is perfectly ridiculous to go about whimpering and drawing long faces because the scientists have added one more chance of painful and premature death to a world which already bristled with such chances and in which death itself was not a chance at all, but a certainty.

This is the first point to be made: and the first action to be taken is to pull ourselves together. If we are all going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts—not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. Lanzada al mercado inicialmente en Japón en 1990

Neo-Geo AES ( Sus siglas corresponden a Advanced Entertainment System)

Con puerto para 2 mandos y 117 juegos oficiales lanzados en Japón.

En Japón 48.880 yenes con un joystick y sin juego.

En Estados Unidos $649.99 con dos joysticks, tarjeta de memoria y un juego (Gold System) o $399.99 con un joystick y sin juego (Silver System).

Salió al mercado el 26 de abril de 1990 en dos versiones, la MVS (Multi Video System) para máquinas recreativas y la AES (Advanced Entertainment System) como consola doméstica.

Podía tener de 1 a 6 cartuchos al tiempo para evitar tener qué estar abriendo y cambiando los cartuchos para jugar otro juego.

Tenía una CPU principal de 16 bits y una auxiliar de 8 bits.

Podía proyectar hasta 4.096 colores al tiempo.

Introdujo una tarjeta de memoria qué permitía guardar el progreso del juego.

Juego emblemático, Fatal Fury.

Reflexión: Lo más interesante de esta consola es su adaptación a los tiempos. Porducto de una empresa reconocida de Arcade, la Neo Geo fue una apuesta por llevar el formato arcade al hogar. Su éxito no fue inmenso pero no por su calidad, sino por su precio alto y cantidad de juegos limitados. Siendo por esto una consola de culto.
