The discussion that happened in the Skire server a few days ago about commenting on other people's art still has me simmering. I had a whole gigantic thing written, so let me condense it as much as possible.

"Waaaah, I don't wanna give insincere comments!" Look at the fucking drawing for a few seconds. You can find something genuine to say.

"Sometimes I just don't feel like it/don't have the energy/etc." Then get off the internet and take a fucking nap. Do you not understand what the point of a community is?

"Everyone gets passed over all the time on places like DA!" OK, but DA is gigantic, poorly organized, and filled with trash and one of the people who raised this point is actually semi-popular so please shut the fuck up.

Some of these people even seemed 50/50 on leaving an emoji react. Click a fucking heart.

People like these are the reason it's near-impossible to make friends in CS.

People just want to post their art, get asspats from their friends, and fuck everybody else. I hope some day they really get ignored like some people do. Not just "oop, got passed over", but painfully, truly ignored. Then maybe they'll get it.
