Brown Sugar - What is making your heart warm today?

Did that one too but thought of something else that made me happy so... It was that one moment when me and my parents sat down to watch out favourite ‘stand-up show’ aka a short cooking programme by one idiotic cook who just cracks us up with how he presents and says things and so every day we all watch it and I just die of laughter with tears in my eyes. Today that felt rather nice.

Bath bomb - What is the best form of self care?

For me think it’s putting on my boppy playlist and just dancing, singing and being an idiot while it’s on. Also watching something silly on yt. Just ideally spending some time alone but without that frequent feeling of loneliness and depressing thoughts.

the young indiana jones adventures, the lost world, relic hunter, killjoys, stargate sg-1, farscape, star trek the next generation, witchblade, nikita, blood & treasure, gravity falls

most of them from my childhood and teen years, so i guess that explains a lot

I've only seen Ana De Armas in Knives Out and BladeRunner 2049, I loved her in both. Do you have any reccomendations for the rest of her films.

I went through the drifferent chapter paths of Last Straw this morning and it was amazing!!! What inspired you to make that story, the way you did?

You know I actually got my start in writing horror? I have a whole binder full of short vignette, like 5k word horror stories. I have a whole script somewhere of a southern gothic style horror film. I don’t write it very much anymore, just because I feel like that chapter of my life where I really related to horror is sort of over -- but I can’t ever come away from it completely. 

A while back I was re-watching some old Dustin Hoffman films, and in the 70s he did this movie called Straw Dogs. It’s horribly, awfully, terribly violent, and I could just absolutely picture Kylo in the main characters place -- defending his house from a home invasion. That’s what sparked the idea to write that particular plotline. 

Because personally, I think that horror is much scarier when it’s more realistic. I don’t really like monster fics/aus or like, supernatural stuff because I don’t believe in any of it, and it’s not scary to me because it could never actually happen to me. But a home invasion? Strange men showing up? Cults? Rituals? Cannibals?  All of those are very very real, and they play off my paranoia more heavily because it could actually happen to me. 

When I was originally developing the fic, I had planned to release it for Halloween, which gave me the opportunity to play with some more twisted themes that now feel a bit more gratuitous lol, like the whole cannibalism thing, the demon rituals, that sort of stuff. 

But above all, I had really been sort of banging around this idea for a choose your own adventure story. I did some searching and found that there weren’t any in the Kylo reader insert fandom, either here on tumblr or on AO3, and I felt like that was such a shame! It’s just an interesting approach to fiction, particularly fiction where the whole point is putting yourself (self insert) into the story! 

I also really love stories -- particularly horror stories -- where you’re left with more questions than there are answers, because I feel like that mimics real life all too well. I’m not really a fan of horror that explains absolutely everything, that tells you all the “Why??”s. I like leaving things unanswered, unexplained. 

So that’s why I thought perhaps there was something Wrong with the Huxes. Not monsters, they’re not monsters in the sense of like, being otherworldly or supernatural, they’re definitely human...but something is wrong with them. Maybe it’s that they’re on drugs, maybe it’s psychological side effects, maybe maybe maybe. Who knows? Not me. 

I also like playing with the idea of not really knowing what’s real and what’s not. Those noises, were they just in your head? Or were they real? Are you hallucinating? Or is this really happening? 

That to me is much more interesting than a werewolf running at you or some creature from the black lagoon snatching your ankle. Not to say that those aren’t scary, they just don’t interest me in the same way.

I am Heath Ledger

I watched I am Heath Ledger, which was beautiful sad and made me think sooo much. Like its showed his beautiful human sprite, but then on the other hand. showed the things he was insecure about. It made me appreciate him even more, it showed me again how actors our human and we have faults and we have things we may not like about ourselves. But also humans are beautiful forms made of stardust. 

I love Heath Ledger and my mum was questing why actors and other well known people affect me so deeply. These people I’ll never be able to meet and why I have all these questions for them in my head. 

I believe Movies and books do teach empathy and I find myself caring sooo much that it hurts sometimes while reading or watching them. That when I see someone make a piece art in any form and I see they are passionate. 

That they give us all these stories and I believe storytelling is an very important thing. So I do care about Heath Ledger ,he was one of many who made me feel so much, taught me things through his characters, make me laugh or cry, not feel lonely and also maybe even  gave me hope. So thanks for people who tell stories and make things and thank you Heath Ledger for becoming an actor even when you didn’t think you were the right person for the job.
