(1/2)Have you watched “Sindbad and the legend of the seven seas” movie? The antagonist in the movie,Eris, is EXACTLY what I envisioned pyskos’ meat puppet to be like. Her voluptuous chest, her coquettish character, her seductive voice sensuously whispering threats into his ears, her flirtatiously touching him and beguilingly draping her hair upon him whilst goading him into joining the MA..How do you think Garou would have reacted to her charms?
Hey! Thank you so much for the ask. I really appreciate you thinking of me.
Full disclosure, I’m on the asexual spectrum so I am probably going to give you a different take than the one you’re expecting. It’s not that I’m bothered by these questions (I actually had a lot of fun with this one!), it’s just that... the feeling that you expect Garou to experience here? I’ve felt it, like, twice in my life and the first time? I was 28 and (hand to God) I thought I was having an allergic reaction, or possibly spontaneously combusting. I worked next door to a nurse, but I couldn’t go to his office for help because he was the one I found myself spontaneously combusting about.
I’m also moderately touch averse. I don’t do martial arts but I do yoga, and if my partner (whom I deeply love and live with) tries to sexy-touch me while I’m stretching (or anything else that requires concentration, like reading), it squicks me majorly. As if that wasn’t enough, I’m synesthetic and I experience whispers as full body tickles—in a way that is annoying, and not arousing, unfortunately. I also experience certain numbers as pointy, but that’s neither here nor there. Anyway, this might be TMI but I just want to give you a lot of context for why I ended up taking this in a different direction. Just because I can’t imagine something doesn’t meant I disagree. I thought this was a really interesting question and I wanted to respond with something heartfelt and authentic.
I deeply appreciated this question because you touched on a wall I frequently hit when I write for Garou’s character or consider his canon actions: he’s laser-focused on his own objectives (especially during a fight), and genuinely immune to charm. This makes it difficult to connect him with other characters, which gets further compounded by the fact that combat is the only human contact that Garou allows himself. But! That doesn’t meant a seduction can’t be done. It’s just tricky.
(Detailed answer below the cut, because Tangents! oh god, the Tangents...)
During a fight, Garou might be outright intrigued by technique but he’ll deny any interpersonal chemistry at play. (Case in point: all his interactions with “meathead” Bat). In battle, the only thing that distracts Garou from his own safety is the safety of somebody else, particularly weaker civilians that need protecting (i.e. Tareo or Zenko).
I’ve always head-canoned Garou as beyond oblivious to romantic advances, or patently unaware that his own words or actions come across as risqué. I mean... ”Have some confidence in your stamina”?!? Woof, are you kidding me? Buy a guy dinner first, amiright ^_^
...Anyway, I know I joke about how salacious Garou’s fight with Saitama looks, but honestly this seems to stem from the way Murata frames the scene, and not any implicit/explicit desire on Garou’s end (or Saitama’s, for that matter). As I mentioned, during a fight, it feels like sexual attraction would be the last thing on Garou’s mind. If his thoughts started straying more lascivious directions, I suspect he’d shut those ideas down real quick. Getting laid is nice, but it’s not worth losing a fight (or your life, for that matter). If he has his eye on winning over his opponent? I’d say all bets are off, but it feels like it would take a lot of setup to get to there.
So, that being said, I could see a situation like this starting with Garou sparring someone. Like, he probably couldn’t resist the urge to show off, but at the same time, he’s not going to let his guard down unless he’s up against he really trusts not to backstab (as opposed to a relatively unknown, recent acquaintance).
I also don’t think that Garou would use combat as an excuse to get handsy, or necessarily react well if he were on the receiving end of such surreptitious advances. As an adult, we see him getting stalked, surrounded, ganged up on, and ambushed. He has very vivid childhood memories of getting attacked by his classmates (including being held down and beaten) as all the adults in his life failed to believe or protect him. I get “enthusiastic consent” vibes from Garou not necessarily because he’s super enlightened about safe sex, but more like, somebody saying one thing and doing another (especially when he’s opening himself up to them) would probably kick up a lot of shit for him, and also he’d never want to hurt anyone like that.
...But then again, who knows. There are a lot of ways to interpret his character, and Garou didn’t get where he is by having qualms about decorum and physical space.
Anyway, if I were engineering this scene, I'd probably with Garou's motivations and desires and have the other character backwards from there, building their strategy around these things. You mentioned “coquettishly whispering threats,” but we don’t really see him respond well to intimidation or ultimatums (which is why Psykos/Gyro-Gyro and Phoenixman have such trouble with him). The exception would be something like sexy banter/riposte from someone he doesn’t perceive as a threat, either because he trusts them, or trusts his ability to overpower them. We kinda see that in the scene with Metal Bat--they’re talking trash to each other, but they’re kidding and they both seem to enjoy the teasing. This is why I’m so curious to see what happened between Garou and Do-S. We saw him snap those chains like they were nothing; if she tortured him, it’s almost certainly because Murata is horny on main for both of them Garou let her. (And, like, I know this could happen, and I almost believe it did, but also I’m incapable of imagining it. And believe me, I’ve tried).
So, Garou won’t let himself get overpowered but he will rise to a challenge (no pun intended) -- and when the Monster Association tells him to abandon his kindness and kill a hero, he’s willing to attack Saitama. While Garou has reservations about his actions, he still goes through with it even in front of Tareo. And part of me wonders if that’s not just because “even c class heroes deserve to die,” but because Garou still has that nagging desire for acceptance. By the same token, I can’t help but think there’s some heartache for Garou when he realizes that not even the monsters seem to want him. Rejection is rejection; it tends to hurt no matter where it comes from. Some people imagine Garou as having a praise kink, which I can kind of see--the bulk of his behavior is attention seeking, and he flips out when Saitama points out he’s improved “a little.” (“YOU CALL THIS A LITTLE?!?”) It’s funny in that moment, but almost excruciating in the last chapter, when we realize, yeah, actually, that’s all Garou ever wanted from the people he loves—support, words of praise, to be seen. So, I feel like he’d jump at the chance to save a pretty face, or a damsel in distress, if he felt like they would really see and appreciate how strong he was. (This would all happen on a subconscious level, though.) Since we’re imagining a scenario where this other character has ulterior motives, they might engineer such a situation just to trick him, and (as much as it pains me to say this), I don’t think Garou would be able to resist, so long as it wasn’t so obviously staged. If Garou saw somebody Snidely-Whiplashed to the train tracks with no aggressor in sight, he’d quickly catch wise. Okay, but we’re not just trying to seduce Garou-- we’re trying to seduce him into the Monster Association. In order to tempt someone, you need offer something they want. Garou’s primary desire, the thing that he wants above all else, is to be accepted/appreciated, and make a better world for people like him. (I’m not sure which comes first and which comes second, honestly). In light of this, as well as his emotional closed-offèd-ness, you’d best prepare yourself to play a very, very long game. Because Gyoro-Gyoro/Psykos does start with ultimatums and threats, which backfires -- his resistance doesn’t waiver, he only becomes more defiant. Better to get on his good side, I think.
If it were me —and, full disclosure, I have been confirmed 💯 evil by Uquiz—I would ask a lot of general questions, starting small (”why is a human fighting on the side of the monsters?”) and maybe challenging him in a way that he’d appreciate (”you hate heroes, but you trained with one for years. why?”) or clueing him in to the fact that I’m willing to look beyond the facade (“you seek ultimate power, but you chose a fighting style meant for the weak. why?”) or perhaps flattering him (”you have so much to offer the world. is this really the best use of your time, picking fights with heroes? Aren’t you just buying into the same petty games?”) Not, like, openly disagreeing but just playing devil’s advocate and backing off if he gets irritated—I feel like he appreciates being challenged as long as he maintains a sense of control. If that went well, I might take a risk on more personal questions, again starting small (”as a kid, which monsters did you like best?”) and building on those things (”Growing up, I wasn’t so keen on monsters but I loved ghost stories. Could I tell you some of my favorites? Perhaps, right before bed, with the lights off? Just so you have the full experience of being scared~”). And then, maybe once I felt like I had his trust, stating some observations so he feels seen (”it seems you were a very precocious child. the can be difficult for children like that, children who are wiser than their elders”).
Garou’s sticking point with the MA (from my perspective) isn’t necessarily that they’re monsters but that they’re unkind. This is what makes Garou realize that, hey, actually, I do value kindness, actually, and I’m not about to give mine up. So, don’t make him abandon what matters! That’s how successful villains get followers and break heroes, right? They convince everybody else that what they’re doing is actually right, that the end justifies the means, and that they understand you, specifically, better than anyone else could. So, I’d try to demonstrate that I truly feel for monsters, particularly the type of monster that Garou thinks he is, and that really we all have something monstrous inside us, and our shadow self isn’t truly so bad. I would tell him, that according to some legends, God gave all demons the tiniest speck of goodness in their souls, and He did this to show humans that even the most terrifying creatures are worthy of compassion. I’d quote Guillermo Del Toro (”Since childhood, I’ve been faithful to monsters. I have been saved and absolved by them, because monsters, I believe, are patron saints of our blissful imperfection, and they allow and embody the possibility of failing”) and possibly Maria Ranier Rilke (“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage.”) I’d really try to convince him that I understood him, and that our goals were aligned (and hopefully they would be, in this scenario, because otherwise that’s manipulative af). Someone (probably not me) could do that while whispering, or getting closer, or building up a very subtle, gradual touch. I joke that “feral” is an apt descriptor for Garou, because wild animals are more afraid of humans than humans are of them, generally, so honestly I imagine any kind of sensual touching that happens with Garou is a lot like approaching a really skittish cat. I hope that helps! I know that it probably wasn’t the answer you were expecting, but I did want to give you my best and most honest answer, and some nice I do deeply appreciate the ask and the rec! <3

Task 1 Animation
2D animation is a spectacular and old form of animation and it formed much of my childhood. My dad was a caricature artist and therefore, an animated movie maniac. I grew up on old Polish cartoons that my parents also grew up on during USSR rule, Studio Ghibli and every underrated animated movie that we could find. 2D animation is often seen as flat, lacking in detail with minimalistic shading and simplistic character design, yet arguably 2D animation requires most skill as it needs extreme patience, artistry and creativity. Through 2D animations I learned that you don't necessarily need a photorealistic character with millions of hair and skin details to make an impactful, emotive and expressive movie (Especially paired with the right voice actors and powerful soundtracks like the prince of Egypt for example) which can bring the audience to tears. Each of the below movies made me cry for the best reasons possible: Ponyo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsR3KVgBzSM Spirit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfF5J0uSC3E Sindbad : Legend of the Seven Seas : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwjVhtQRnwk The Prince of Egypt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0Vh65UrBK4 Next I researched the world of stop motion animation. I could name many examples of these animated movies as they are often very memorable. I find that they're memorable as stop motion, especially in it's older days, could easily come off as quite eerie, strange and striking. A childhood show that I watched in Polish although it is known in Ireland as 'Moomins' was created in stop motion in its earliest days and till now I vividly remember  the impact the scary 'Buka' paired with the late 70s- early 80s sound effects, left on me. The art of stop motion animation takes patience and great craftsmanship in order to create the intricate sets, props and flexible characters. Tim burtons stop motion (also categorized as Claymation) animation left the same spooky yet majestic impression on me.  Moomins (1977-1982) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2rb87KrCW Corpse Bride: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGACeWVdFqo Lastly I must discuss 3D animation. 3D animation by many is seen as a huge leap forward in the animation industry, but many including myself, found it cold and lacking soul. Although the carefully rigged and designed characters and surroundings where more detailed and the expressions and movements often even more exaggerated, they felt very grey, monotone and computer-made. Yet every now and then a few exceptional movies where created and as the technology advanced I found myself more and more drawn to 3D animations. The characters moved, looked and behaved more human, the perfect middle ground between detailed and stylized was found and this led to the creation of movies where even talking animals looked somewhat compelling and 'natural'.  The emotions is what sells me in animated movies and nowadays many 3D movies portray a plethora of emotions convincingly and impactfully, on par to its 2D predecessors.   Kung Fu Panda: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhbCYVILusc Big Hero 6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3biFxZIJOQ Encanto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaimKeDcudo
